My husband and I attended our first Lamb’s Players production, “Babette’s Feast”. The performance was amazing. Good seating. Small, intimate theater. We’ll be back!
Very nice theater. The rows are steep so you dont have anyone blocking your view. Keeps the production fairly intimate, but the stairs are steep and the isles are tight. I saw some folks struggling to get up the theater stairs and if you need go move down and isle everybody must stand up to let you out. Plan on staying in your seat until intermission.
This is one of my favorite theaters in San Diego! Its an intimate size, so you feel close to the action. The shows are top rate and many times, award winning. The tickets are competitively priced and they have deals for annual passes and youth pricing. I highly recommend this venue.
The performers are strong. The plays and musicals themselves vary. The facility is crammed into its space but in reasonable shape. Avoid seats in the two outer sections. You wont see very well. Would be nice if there was a little snack bar other than the coffee place.
A more involved production, much deeper than Lambs usual fare - but well executed with superb actors and staging. I found it to be quite compelling. I do prefer the comedies, musicals, etc., which is their standard fare, but an occasional departure for a play such as this is good theater as well!
While the theatre, props, musicians, actors and actresses were amazing with voices performance the play selection of “Alice” was awful:(. Half the audience left at intermission and the tickets were $$$$! It was so abstract and bizarre. Majority of the audience was between ~50-70 yrs old. So sad with so many amazing play selections with good story lines, plots, humor and love available why this play was chosen. Save your money (after the Corona threat) and go to the next one, hopefully will have a better play to see!
Wonderful group of talented actors and artists and in a perfect sized theatre. Unfortunately, “the house” manager on duty last night was incredibly rude and unprofessional to me and my friend while attending the performance of Alice. I have to say that I have never had an experience like this any other time, but the woman in charge of “the house” was very snippy, rushing us to the wrong seats after interrupting my friend while she used the restroom. I’m disappointed and worry this one bad apple could spoil the whole bunch and keep new patrons from the talented performances offered by the Lamb’s Players.
I saw the Christmas musical and really enjoyed it. It is a small theatre. So, even if youre in the very back row, you really arent far from the stage. There are bad seats - the seats on the very, very far right and very, very far left. The rows are set at a very steep incline. Even if youre very short and youre behind somene very tall, youll have no problem seeing. On the other hand, the stairs are quite steep. If you have mobility issues, reserve early on lowest row. No elevator. The Christmas show was wonderful!
We go to their festival of Christmas every year which has so far been 21 years. Every Christmas is a unique musical and we have never been dissappointed. Any of the other plays have also been terrific. Thank you Lambs for all youve done.
What a wonderful intimate theatre. Their Festival of Christmas was so well done. The acting, singing, and dancing were top-notch. The 2020 season looks world-class as well.
Great show, theater has plenty of restrooms and are very well kept. Has a cute coffee shop inside which made the intermission enjoyable. Very pretty neighborhood to walk and window shop.
You pretty much cant go wrong in seeing a show, play, musical here. Each time I go I have a top notch experience. All seats pretty much have a good close view.
Ive been a season ticket holder for 30 plus years. The theater has great seating. Being just 7 rows deep, and the rows are set so you never have an obstructed view. The plays they put on are so well done, and I wouldnt miss one. Theyve extended Chaps, and I enjoyed it so much Im taking my sister and going again. The sets and lighting are also excellent. The musicals they put on are also wonderful with great singers and wonderful music performances as well. Prices depend on when you go, but they have reasonable prices and if you know a season ticket holder an additional discount. If you like live theater, this is the place!
Intimate community theater located in a historic building in the heart of Coronado on Orange Avenue, just a few blocks north of the Hotel del Coronado. We arrived early and found parking just around the corner with no problem and there are more then enough spots surrounding the theater all within one block. We arrived a little early and took a stroll down Orange Avenue to check out the shops, even you aren’t a tourist, there’s plenty to see and if you are then you should find a unique souvenir. I grew up in Coronado but, moved away almost 30 years ago and had never gone to the Lambs Player Theater, but it was no surprise that Coronado would have such a unique place like this place is. They have a small cafe just adjacent to the lobby selling sandwiches, coffees and wine. The theater itself is no more than about 150 seats and those that are handicapped, like myself will have to make special arrangements if you use a wheelchair because the stage area literally goes almost all the way to the front tow of seats and there are no cut-outs for a wheelchair to park. I use a walker and had to relinquish it before entering the theater. The rows are steeply stacked, think stadium seating so climbing stairs will be required if not in the first row. But, stance there are only 8 or 9 rows, you won’t have too many to navigate. The staff at the cafe, ticket booth, lobby and inside the theater were helpful, attentive and very friendly.
Wonderful, amazing theater adventure. Very touching. I am highly recommending this play for anyone that loves Christmas.
Every production weve attended here has been top-notch, and the location on Orange avenue means there is lots to do if you get there a bit early, which is not a bad idea given the parking situation on Coronado, and there are also lots of good options for a bite to eat after the play. Attendees with mobility challenges will want to get tickets as far in advance as possible and specify a seat in the first row, which is at entry-level. The remaining seats are up sets of fairly steep stairs, however there is a sturdy railing to help with that.
Another fabulous performance! I have yet to have anything other than an totally enjoyable evening at the Lambs Players Theatre. Great energy and fun!
What a fun theater! Very intimate. Only 6-7 rows. Front row is feet from the action!
Intimate theatre with excellent actors and actresses. Great stories, set designs and costume design. You WILL be entertained!
Saw Ring Around the Moon. Very dramatic, intimate theater, mediocre food in cafe, started show 10 mins late.Great Actors, all of them. Joy Jones & her role brought the depth I look for in a storyline and Brian Mackey blew me away playing twins. Well done!
They always put on great shows. Never disappointing. I just saw Mixed Tape and it was a ton of fun. Very well executed. Bravo!
We saw Ring Around The Moon. It was a funny amd enjoyable production that kept you entertained. The actors were witty and engaging. The facility was nice and clean. I though it was an excellent idea to pre-order my snacks so they were ready along with my reserved table, to enjoy during intermission. I look forward to coming back for another play!
The performance- Mixed Tape - the best show ever! The Theatre - very nice. Good service, clean and cozy. Bathroom stalls are tiny. If you weigh more than 175 lbs, you will have to pee outside..lol :)
Fun! Loved the play, the environment, and everything about this this little theater. Will definitely be coming back.
Wonderful plays and musicals. Very entertaining and good value .
Constantly changing line up of plays, great cast, beautiful set designs, and a cute attached cafe. Never been disappointed by a Lambs experience.
A wonderful place to see a play! Weve seen many shows there and have never been disappointed! We always come away happy and laughing.
Wonderful to see David Heath again. Lovely way to start the holiday season.
I must give this Playhouse an excellent review! I made reservations for 3 for a play but I did not read that the play was at a different location. So my guests and myself showed up to see the play I purchased tickets for and soon found out I was at the wrong place. However, Amanda in the box office was so kind to schedule my tickets for a different evening at the correct location and provided us three tickets to see Mixtape that evening for free! She said we had made the trip from Carlsbad and felt it was the right thing to do. Kudos Kudos kudos!
My wife and I attended a matinee performance of Chaps at the Lambs Players in Coronado Sunday. It was very entertaining, showcasing the musical talent of the ensemble cast and their comedic acting ability. The production has been extended for the third time. If you can see it before mid May do so. It was fun!Bob Krotzer
For local theater, they are incredible! Have enjoyed every show Ive seen.
Super good play. Talented acting. Good singing. I loved it. Highly recommend.
Excellent cast and wonderful music with a thought-provoking production.
Always s good time. Even if the play is a little odd.
Awesome play, wonderful performance. Go see Babettes Feast!
Its become a Christmas tradition to go as a family. We love the atmosphere, location, and the family friendly entertainment!
Ive enjoyed Lambs in the past, however on my recent return to the area I thought I would treat my friend to a show. The review of the show was extremely over rated. The premise looked comical, but the delivery was barely tolerable. Honestly they should have paid me for an opinion before opening rather than me paying them for such a disappointment. Ive have not been so let down by any performance before.
Mixtape was absolutely outstanding. Theater was beautiful. Staff was great. I will return for future shows.
The Lambs Players Theatre is very cool. Its not small and not big. Its cozy to me. And its nice and clean. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful.
A top spot in San Diego for plays or musicals. Beautiful theater surrounded by many choices for dinner before the show.On Coronados main Street of Orange Ave.
What a fun little spot in a great night out! Sometimes it can be difficult to find new things to do that are interesting and truly different. I ended up planning a night out taking in a show at Lambs theater and it did not disappoint! You will not confuse this show with Broadway but it is really well executed and the performances were well done enough to create a nice lasting memory for all who attended. The theater is well-maintained and very unique. I certainly would recommend checking it out
Had an awesome time. Play was awesome. Great trip back to the 80s
Enjoyed the closeness with the stage, recommend the show, mixtape, The Best of the 80s. Well acted and harmonized musical of the past. Enjoyed the venue and play.
Every time we see a play here it is fantastic! You get swept away in the story.
We have season tickets. All their productions are first class. So much talent in Coronado
Great plays Christmas Festival family tradition for 43 years
No bad seats in this small local theater. Awesome cast and grrat productions.
Most of the plays offered are good choices. Theyre very well done and I especially love the way the actors they choose fit the parts that they play really well.
Very nice theatre for live performances.
My wife and I try to go to Lambs Theater at least once a year and usually enjoy wonderful plays there but weve seen the Musical, Once twice now in one month and have purchased tickets on two other occasions for family to see it too. What an amazing production it was in such a beautiful and intimate setting! Magical!
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome! Cant say enough good things about this theatre company. Weve seen several of their productions and have always been blown away by the talent and the location (Coronado). Such a great theatre - very intimate and comfortable.
I think these reviews should be focused onnthe theater rather than the performances... Theater is small, clean and not a bad seat in the house. Acoustics are good, and so is lighting. Theres a little cafe with overpriced drinks. Parking is horrible so try to get there early enough. The inside of the theater itself is well kept. The only downside for *me* was the small seats. Im wider in the hips and was extremely uncomfortable for the entire performance. Also theres barely any leg room, and every time the guy below me stretched, hed hit my knees. I know this isnt something they can fix unless going thru a full renovation, but people with wider hips/longer legs should be aware.
Wonderful theater! Extremely talented cast, awesome acoustics and lots of fun! Seeing a show at this theater is an enjoyable night out!
It is a wonderful theater located in Coronado currently playing mixtape which is singing and dancing from the 80s
The next door Cafe that connects to the theatre had nothing but week old pie., you can see our fryers off, we only have whats in the cooler. ...what a lousy cafe. They should not even have the doors open if they are not offing anything. the help was snarky. I dont recommend this lousy Cafe.
Great small theater. Wonderful casts. No bad seats.
Great a little theater theres not a bad seat in the house we saw a really nice play that the staff was really cool they have a little bar on the side and its a very good deal for the money
We saw Once last night and I have to say it was one of the most poetic and beautiful productions I have had the pleasure of watching. The entire cast were brilliant quadruple threats; acting, singing, dancing and playing musical instruments. What an inspiration!
This is one if the very best theaters in San Diego and has been for many years, from its beginnings in a small, but marvelous, theater-in-the-round in National City to its current location in a gorgeous structure at on Orange Avenue in Coronado just at the point where C Avenue meets Orange.Last night Monday March 19, I attended a special performance called Voices of Ireland, an annual offering of Write Out Loud! & The Celtic Essence, a marvelous synthesis indeed. The regular offerings of Lambs Players are always worth seeing, even if of a genre one normally might not relish, but whatever they are presenting, you will be assured of seeing it presented with the highest degree of professionalism and talent. Sometimes, you will see a performance that will remain in your mind—and often, in your heart—fir as long as you live!By all means, make a visit to Lambs Players soon, and you can also bring the kids, in the main, as this is a theater with values that include broadening the imagination of children in ways about which no parent need worry.
Great day at the Lambs. We saw a review that covered 25 years of their productions. Highly recommend for a walk down memory lane.
We had a great time, Highly recommended for something to do on the island.
I have seen several shows at this theater and they have all been incredible. The first thing i always notice is how amazing sets the are. Then the music starts. The performances are consistently great and very, very fun to see. I highly, highlyrecommend checking out Lambs Players Theater.
Intimate theatre. Not a bad seat in the house.
An amazingly entertaining musical celebration of 25 years of Lambs Players productions with an incredibly talented cast and musicians! A delightful evening
Cool place great performances, saw mixtape!
A wonderful theater company in a beautiful location. One drawback is that the seats on the far left and right cant see the whole stage set. Try to pay for a seat in the center 2/3 of the theater.
Chaps is a very entertaining and enjoyable show. Good music, good acting and funny too!
We always love going to this theater and we have learned to get front row seats because the rows and seats are so narrow for leg room and larger folks. The staff are great and the shows are well performed. Great to have a meal before hand at many restaurants nearby.
Such a fun thing... The theater in Coronado is beautiful and literally not a bad seat in the house.
Enjoyed Chaps featuring entertaining cowboy themed music set in a BBC broadcast studio during WWII. Started slowly but built up to a wild fun finish.
Saw Once last night and it was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyable musical! Highly recommend checking this one out! Small intimate theater with a top notch cast.
Super talented group of people!
Awesome Community Theater. Always good; no bad seats!
Just saw Mixed Tape the 80s. What fun!
Nice theatre - no bad seats! Friendly staff, ushers were very helpful.
Chaps! was the best thing I have ever seen.
Great place to see a play. Also most anywhere you set you have a good view. Just the side seats arent that good to see.The one down side is the legroom. My size 13 shoes bearly fix. Worse than flying !
Excellent family friendly professional productions. Sure, every once in a while, theres a play you dont enjoy -- but others will. (You cant please everyone all the time.) The staff are friendly, prices are reasonable, and there isnt a bad seat in the house. There are plenty of good restaurants near-by to grab dinner before the show too.
Awesome. Came 3 years ago. Around Christmas. Back at my hometown again and this theater is awesome. Its clean. The actors were incredible singers. Great seats. Felt comfortable. Coming again soon :-P
Always a great and intimate venue for theatre!
Excellent. Only flaw (unfortunately still typical of theatres, stadia, and public facilities everywhere) is that architects and planners arent intelligent enough to recognize the need for equal restroom facilities for all is not measured by floor space equality. My wife, daughters, and female friends and acquaintances always end up in lines waiting. Theyre tired of it, and its not OK. Rant over.
What a charming and enjoyable experience. For great entertainment in a live and intimate theatre setting look no further!
We come at least once a year at Christmastime for their original Festival of Christmas play. Its a family tradition. I love the wholesome storylines and beautiful harmonies. I always get a little teary-eyed, as they really know how to tug on your heartstrings. Buy your tickets early...and enjoy!
I went here to see the anniversary performance and it was quite a performance. Definitely in my top 5 theatres in San Diego.
This was one of the funniest plays that we have seen in years. The timing was incredible and the whole theme was hilarious. The acting was excellent and the interplay between the players was special.
Intimate theater, talented actors & actresses
Weve been to Lambs Players multiple times and have never been truly disappointed. They have a great, friendly, and helpful staff. We just saw Smoke on the Mountain and it was a blast. Very talented actors and musicians. Lots of laughs. You need to go and see for yourself.
Great place for local theatre and they even pay their performers well! Very small theatre makes almost every seat great. You can buy a drink next door and bring it in. Show up early or ride share to avoid the crazy traffic.
Our favorite theatre!
Great intimate venue, no bad seats! Nice coffeeshop/bar next door.
Wonderful performance. Great venue. Talented performers.
Great venue with great shows.
Enjoyed a halarious play Smoke On The Mountain tonight. I laughed until I cried. The performers were excellent and most played several instruments. All had wonderful voices. Id give this play a 10 plus.
I have ALWAYS loved the performances at Lambs Players theatre - musical and/or drama !!
A great show!
Up On Smoke Mountain was phenomenal! I took 4 friends to enjoy it with me. I loved every minute! The entire cast was spectacular! Debrorah was magnificent!
