Love! Such a unique fun experience. Beautiful waterfalls, cool caves & fresh water. If your under 54 grab a free life vest so you can relax a little as water gets deeper in some areas & you dont want to tread water all day. If you have little ones be careful of the largest waterfall, the current is very strong & will push you down. Lots of lifeguards on duty all day.
Very nice, quiet and beautiful place, expensive entry for no residents of Coral Gables, not many people cause they have limited number of people, very good location, the food is normal, burgers, hot dog, curly fries, pizza, soft drinks, snacks, etc, there is a small cave in the pool, lifesavers in all corners, always alert, watching and walking around the pool in case something happend in their daily routine, really enjoy with my husband and friends, take your time and pass one day with your family, you are not going to be disagree with me. P.S. come early to take a good parking. Thank u guys, keep going the way you are to satisfy the public in this hot summer.
Awesome spring water pool. The vibe is chill. And a place you can go and relax or hang out with family. Would go again
Respect CDC guidelines. The place wasnt packed since it was cloudy. Just wished pool was cleaner but other than that the experience was cool.
Definitely a must go to spot! We had such a great time at this place.
A bit of a mixed experience here. This is a truly unique place and you should definitely check it out. I cant believe they allow you to go in the caves and bask on the rock formations - its so cool. Its fresh water and is cool, clean, and refreshing. On the other hand, they have a nickle-and-dime kind of business model, which Im not crazy about. Definitely bring your own towel - they will not have towels available unless you choose to purchase one for $8. They also make you pay to rent lounge chairs, which just feels a step too far. You certainly can get by without doing so, but its not the comfy poolside experience that would be common at a hotel, for example. There is a cafe on site, that we did not try. I also think we had a nice time in part because we came on an off day when it was a little cooler, so it wasnt crowded.
Its supposed to look vintage, but it looks a bit run down. The water was infested with dead bugs and leaves like havent cleaned in a while. There were stains on the pool floor everywhere, but I think thats supposed to be part of the charm. The bathrooms had this sewer like smell that irritated my nose. They were observing Covid-19 guidelines, but I couldnt seem to immerse myself in the history surrounding the pool. It didnt hit its mark.
It all so great, count on paying non resident $20 for each adult person regardless if you go into the water or not. Food onsite is okay, you can bring your own in your bag and enjoy later as well. The cave is periodically opened throughout the day which is nice:)- because of short staff, so they monitor the cave for safety. The waterfall is great, make sure you can swim in the deeper area of not put on your life vest, no noodles aloud in 6-&+ feet water. Overall it’s a great experience & you can bring your floaty and noodles to use in 5 feet water:). Yes bottom of poolIs not so finished in some areas and could use a paint job here ans there, and a little more cleaning in pool regardless it’s a great experience. Ps get ready to spend $5 for a lawn chair:/ or sit in on benches no cost extra.
I visited this terrific pool during my last Miami trip 12 y ago and I liked it very much. This time I wanted to show it to my kids, so we drove there on purpose some day at the beginning of Jan.Unfortunately, it was closed and fenced all around like it was in the renovation process. We peeked through and saw the pool empty.Check before youre going if its open.
Such a magical and beautiful place. Ive been coming since I was a kid and it hasnt changed much, Thank God! Its hidden and you wouldnt expect this peaceful oasis in the middle of Miami. Its pricey and you cant bring your own food, so when youre hungry...its even more pricey at the cafe. We love coming here though. Theres plenty to do. Its a natural spring, so no harmful chemicals makes this my top choice for swimming. If you havent been, you gotta try it!
The Venetian Pool is the only swimming pool on the National Register of Historic Places. A whopping 820,000 gallons of fresh spring water, fed by a Florida aquifer below ground. The pool is carved into the lime rock grounds. Its a rare experience that one can only find in Miami. One of the most historic places in Miami that is protected for future generations to enjoy. Its worth the entry price. Bring a cooler with refreshments and lay out in the sun.
Venetian Pool is stunning! As soon as you walk through the entrance you feel like youre stepping into a hidden oasis. There is a cave you can enter which makes for a cool photo op if you have a water-resistant phone. I went on a Friday so it wasnt too packed or busy which is a plus. My only recommendation is to bring sunblock because while there is a lot of shaded areas at this pool, its completely exposed to the sunlight. Overall I had an incredible time here! I recommend it.
Great pubic pool! Absolutely stunning! Swimming under the waterfalls was spectular! Grotto was amazing! Many lifeguards on duty checking every corner, they did a fantastic job. I was very happy to see that. The only reason I didnt give them five stars, is because at 4:10 we were kicked out of the pool! They close at 4:30, on the weekend. So instead of letting us swim till 4:30, they made us get out of the water early, so we could be out of the park by 4:30. I drove up from Key West, so I was very disappointed that it wasnt open till at least 6 on a weekend when daylight savings time is still in effect. You also cannot bring children under 3, we had a 4 year old. When we called we were not advised to this. Im so lucky that he was able to get in. I would have been very upset if we drove all that way and couldnt go.
I have lived in Florida my whole life and have never gone here before this visit. What an incredible day!!! It was nonstop adventure from sun up until sundown. A few things worth noting:No toddlers/babies and really I would bring anyone under 5 personally. The swimming is HARD near the waterfalls.Ever inch of the pool can be explored from the cave...waterfalls....and grotto. Kids are welcome to jump off and swim under the waterfalls! Such a wonderful day!
This place is stunning, ignore those who complain about the cost. It is so worth it even if you go once it would leave a lasting impression. As soon as you walk in you feel transported into a resort, it has this untouched rustic beauty that is enhanced by the elegance of the architecture. There are life jackets available considering most of the pool is 5ft deep or deeper. There is also a shallower pool around 2 ft deep for the kiddies. I had no problem navigating the water once put a life jacket on (no, I cant swim). There was a cave that you can enter which provides a cool photo op if you have a water proof phone and you can go under the waterfall as well. I went on a Friday so the place was not packed. They have benches around if you do not want to pay for a lounge chair which I believe was only $5 to rent. They do have showers along with a locker room. I did not get anything to eat during my stay. My only words of advice it to wear sunblock because while there are shaded areas the pool is completely exposed. Overall I had such a great time, this place has been on my bucket list for a little while now definitely worth it to come.
A wonderful pool. It was a great experienced for me.
Very stupid rules. They would not let us in because they said they reached maximum capacity for the day even though people were constantly leaving and there was plenty of room in the pool they refuse to sell us a ticket. Very disappointing and unreasonable. They are wasting an opportunity to make the city a lot of money by having an unreasonable rule like this.......doesn’t make sense
Beautiful environment. Great pool and water is fresh and clean. Change rooms are clean and well maintained.
Not as great as it sounds. They open late, at 11 AM. No children under the age of 3, hard proof required. Expensive ($25.00 for non residents). Cold water. Unfriendly staff (mostly...). Little parking available. They often close the pool due to maximum capacity regardless that you see people leaving... (that is were staff becomes unfriendly) Make a friend that has a pool and go visit them.... Waste of money to fun ratio!
This pool is great for families, although only children 3 and above can get in. Short staffed and pricey ($25 for me and my daughter) but nice to visit at least once when in Coral Gables. There’s a nice area to lay on the sand and a smaller area for kids to play in the water (2 feet and above). Caves are closed sometimes due to lack of lifeguards.
Great place to visit. The sourroundings are gorgeous and the pool is great especially during hot summer days. The water is always cold (even during the hottest summer days).Even when it’s at full capacity it doesn’t feel crowded.Parking is free and there are two parking areas available (usually hard to find available parking past 12 pm).Fees: If you are a Coral Gables resident fee pp. is $5ea. Fir non Coral Gables residents frees are $15 fir adults.Staff is very kind and helpful. It’s located in a residential area with beautiful surroundings. Very close to the Biltmore Hotel. There’s a small snack shop inside. You can rent a locker for $5.
My family enjoyed our stay here. It is a spring water-filled pool. The scenery is nice and the water is so relaxing. We would love to go back again.
This is a magic place. So colorful. For 15$ I spent a beautiful day with friends. The lifeguards a little bit stressed.. I think that it is a good spot for jumping but is not allowed... The pool is 4ft-8ft.. with area for kids too..
Just because it was closed... The info was not given, that the place is in maintenance. I planned Venetian Pool as part of my daughters birthday coming from Toronto! We only found closed gate ..
You guys, this place is MAGICAL. Stopped here first during my weekend trip/mini vaca with my friend and we ended up spending the whole day here!! It was so nice to be outside swimming in fresh water! No salt or chlorine to worry about...they have a little mock beach area, chairs to rent and even a little cafe/grille you can buy lunch at. Its just too beautiful...staff was professional and nice, mostly all young kids as life guards but thats normal! You can rent a decent size locker for $5...bathrooms and showers were clean. Def will be visiting this little piece of Italy in Florida again!
Beautiful pool but Ive had a double mastectomy and its too cold for my chest wall I only can go up to my waist. Gables is an amazing place to be
Had a great time. The waterfalls made everything even better. There are lounge rentals and lock/locker rentals, but you can also bring your own lock.
Romantic atmosphere around the pool that been built in mid 20s in Venetian Ghotic style. There is artificial cave and waterfall. Entrance ticket is $20 for non-coral gables residents, so its expensive.
This was great. I have been visiting Miami in September and it was the hurricane season so the ocean was dirty and full of seaweed. Venetian pool was the best place to go to but it was a really good place to go. Is one or two restaurants inside places to buy drinks and icecreams. The water is very clean with water falls and caves. 15$ entry
Built in 1924, the swimming paradise made entirely of coral rock and designed in the Venetian style with loggias (posh balconies), porticos (posh porches) and even an italian-style bridge! Today, this is a site for many fashion events and celebrity gatherings.
Love this natural spring fed historic pool! Get there early if you want to swim. $20 per adult to swim. $1 to walk through.
This place is amazing! After several beach days, the spring water at this pool was greatly welcomed by my family and I. They have a nice little cave too. No outside food is allowed, they sell snacks and finger foods. Better get there early, there is an occupancy limit and they do not let anyone in once it is reached. Family enjoyed this while we were in Miami vacationing! We will definitely pay this place a visit next time we are in Florida. I highly recommend this place.
Great place to visit in Miami. Different, with a little history. Think twice before renting any chairs. A couple of towels would do the trick. Water is not too cold.
INITIAL REViEW (late Nov 2017): Visited on a day in November in week of Thanksgiving before the holiday. Maybe 25-30 guests during our 4 hour visit, meaning there was a lifeguard for about every 3-4 people, the entire enormity of the pool to the kids. The caves, however, are closed for all but two 30 minute openings, when a lifeguard would wade into one opening and stand-duty, allowing kids to explore. The snack bar was also closed (how can they economically staff it with only 30 guests?), but there was a soda/beverage vending machine at the entrance, and the good news is that they permit you to bring outside food into the park. The staff was attentive and even with few people at any one time in the pool, it was easy to observe the on-guard lifeguards constantly scanning the pool, from left-to-right, over and over again. Mid-way through the day, my 10 year-old came to my chair with his hand clasped to the back of his next, believing he had been bitten by a bee, and we visited the lifeguard, who called a more senior lifeguard over with a first aid kid, and who topically treated the apparent sting -- my son was happy as a clam with 15 minutes of the incident, and he was promptly back in the water. Also of note on days like this is that there was PLENTY of FREE STREET parking right outside the park/pool entrance. And I would recommend spending at least a few minutes looking at all the historical photography that is located after the admission gate -- its amazing to consider that the pool dates back at least 93 years in those photos, and to consider that everyone in those photographs has likely long since been deceased. Yet, there they all are, caught in striking black and white photography, in swimsuits from their era, enjoying the almost-the-same Venetian Pool. One criticism: It may seem cynical to complain about ticket prices for one of the larger swimming pools, at least in Florida (which is remarkable), particularly when there are few other guests, and its a GREAT weather day -- but the entrance prices are expensive. I think It was over $40 for one adult and two kids, and for that, it merely allows you to enter the park ... pool chairs are strictly controlled by the lifeguards, and it was $5 more to rent one (another comment said this was $10, but that was not the case during my visit and the signage clearly showed $5 as the rental fee). This must be too much for many other guests, who were sitting on the few park benches or even on beach towels, rather than pay the $5 rental, apparently.UPDATE: We visited again on Feb 17, 2019, President’s Day Weekend. The management did not staff appropriately, and cited “unexpected crowd” for keeping the cave closed in the afternoon, meaning my kids couldn’t explore the one thing there is to do in the swimming pool. I hate to complain, but WTF — charge $35 (full price) for entry at 3:20PM when you close at 4:30PM, BUT don’t run the whole pool program? That is over the top laziness. I’m taking a star off the rating. Sorry, lame management and poor effort, just punching their time clocks. 4 Lifeguards and lady manager just congregating meanwhile with the “senior lifeguard”, at least not busy enough to stop to explain how understaffed they are, how “unprepared for the crowds!” Did I already say how lame they are today?!??
Love it here. Use to come when I was a kid and now I am bringing my kids to experience the caves! They do not let you jump off the waterfalls and the caves are only opened if they have enough lifeguards cause now they need a life guard in the caves while your in there. Also, they do not sell food. You bring your own. They only have snacks like chips and a soda machine.
Beautiful place to cool off in the Miami heat. The staff was great to boot!
Nice to look at but not much to it. Unimpressed!
I did not really enjoy the stay. First off, 50 bucks for a pool visit is quite some money but ok. Most people say it is worth it. We are a family of four and 50 $ seems ok if the pool is really great. But this is not the case with the Venetian Pool. Not really clean, Cafe closed, locker rooms partially not working and the showers are mostly out of order. And them there is signs everywhere that tell you what not to do. This all gives me the feeling that two stars is the max I can give. And they take 5 dollars for the safe. Never had that in all the pools I have been. Most of the times this is a free service. Stay on your hotel pool if you have one...
Very nice place if you want to see historic value but nothing special for swimming.
This is a hidden gem & open to the public for a fee, coral gables is a beautiful neighbourhood in miami - I wish wed have been able to take a dip!
Nice place. Water is alittle cold but kids had a blast. Food was not that expensive considering you are in that gables. Worth the price. Great friendly staff.
Beautiful place. too many kids. add an adult only day please and thanks!
Love, love LOVEEEEEEEE! This place is like a beautiful time warp! Crystal clear water, plenty of space, cool discoveries around every part of the property! Great lifeguards keep you safe, life jackets offered as its pretty deep throughout the pool. If you have kids under 10, probably grab a jacket for them, they will get tired fast! The pool is HUGE! Grab one for yourself if you want to float and relax! No floats are allowed at the pool. Parking was easy, admission is a little pricey, so plan on staying the whole day to take advantage, and bring a picnic cooler!
Such a beautiful place ... the pool is perfect to swim or relax under a tree .. the life guards team make a great job to survey all the place .. for me one of the most beautiful pools I ´ve ever seen
Nice pool just make sure you come early!
Excellent place to pass a beautiful day, the food is not expensive not to much variety but for a day at pool is perfect. The water is a litte bit cold at first but after you jump in you even notice.
Very fun and kids had a blast!
Beautiful! Definitely a nice family pool! But the views are fantastic! Waterfalls and limestone, its amazing!
Nice Pool with life guard ... and options to rent chair and umbrella.... but sometimes the lifegaurds are not friendly
Be aware that the pool is closed until March 2020.
Its expensive if youre not a resident. Close to 20$ USD. But the place looks beautiful and you can just chill in the water or under the waterfall. The thing I love the most is that the food are actually priced VERY reasonably if not cheap compared to other places, 5$ for a cheese burger? Give me 2!
Pretty, but definitely looks better and bigger in pictures. Its still beautiful though.
Very nice looking forward to Returning soon....$20.00 per person but well worth it!!!
Really cool historical site tucked inside beautiful neighborhoods lined with Banyan Trees
Stunning pool! Ignore those who complain about the cost. Venetian Pool is definitely worth it even if you go just once, it will leave a long-lasting impression. Its a very exotic and unique pool hidden in the heart of Coral Gables.
I love this pool its the water here is from under the spring that comes up. Thats why it has that greenish tint to it but theres no chemicals here its very large so if your kids are not the greatest swimmers make sure you put on a little vest that they supply for you little vests and larger ones for the larger kids because swimming across that pool could be tiring also the waterfalls sometimes the the water comes down a little rough but its a pool where you could spend the whole entire day I go in the hot months June July August September because the water tends to be a little cold cuz it is spring water but man I this is a great place to take your kids I love it love it love it you can buy food there they have pizza and they put extra cheese on it they have all kinds of good stuff that you can order their also you can bring your own chips and stuff like that in the bag you know just bring it in with you the cost is $15 so you know its a little expensive when you start looking at how many people youre going to take but its worth it to do it once in awhile just like you go to any other place that you could go to once in awhile its worth it the kids love it I recommend it
As beautiful as it is clean! A great place to take family and/or friends from out of town to beat the heat and have some old-fashioned fun. The pool is rather large with varying depths to accommodate swimmers of all sizes and skill levels (2ft at minimum for the kiddos). Theres also a sweet cove where you can walk or swim under some rocks. They also have complimentary life jackets for inexperienced swimmers. Finally, the food court is on-site serving a variety of food & drinks at reasonable prices.
Best public pool in Miami! Its located in a very quiet and breezy area right in Coral Gables. Parking can sometimes be a bit of a hassle, but this place is still pretty fun to go to with friends and family. Keep it up guys!
Loved this place..simply beautiful, we went on Monday so didnt find the crowd...overall a nice experience
Gorgeous public pool with beautiful scenic spots. Also amazing showers to freshen up.
Nice place to spend afternoon.
Cool place, cheap entrance (around 5-10 usd), they control quantity of people so it is never too full.
If your under 54 grab a free life vest so you can relax a little as water gets deeper in some areas & you dont want to tread water all day. If you have little ones be careful of the largest waterfall, the current is very strong & will push you down. Lots of lifeguards on duty all day.
An absolute must see if youre in the area. Its like a paradise! It wasnt too busy and there was plenty of space to sit in both the sun and shade.
So relaxing and beautiful, the caves are absolutely spectacular.
The place isnt big but its beautiful. The lifeguards on duty are very alert and aware of what everyone was doing. I would recommend going on weekdays when it doesnt get full. Lots of fun!
What a neat place! Fun and Historic!
It would be nice if you could update the website with dates in which you will he closed. We drove a long way to enjoy the pool just to find it closed.
Great pool, well maintained. Wish chairs were provided in entry fee.
I LOVE it here! This place is amazing. Very nice, quiet and beautiful place. However, its a shame that you have to pay entry if youre not a resident of Coral Gables. Pretty good location, food is normal, and the people that come here have a lot of fun! This is probably the best tourist hot spot for anyone visiting Miami. Will be back very soon!
This was one of the most beautiful places i ever been too. Very unique. I will be back
This pool is so fun and cold. I love coming here on a hot day its so refreshing. And the curly fries are the best I buy them every time.
This place is awesome!! They are low on chairs and despite paying to enter, you do need to bring your own towel (or purchase one there). Still - such a unique and cool experience!
Make sure to get there early to get tickets before it gets full, since its limited capacity. Also plan around weather, since lightning within 3 miles will close the pool. Overall a dope historical place to spend a few hours at the pool.
Amazing place !! Really worth itCost 20$ for adults.
One of the prettiest places in all of Florida. It is a MUST visit.
Gorgeous fresh water pool with beautiful waterfalls. Great place to visit if your from out of town or state.
Beautiful swinning pool for familles. Children birthday parties can be planned there.
An oasis in the middle of the city. Arrive at opening to beat the crowds and youll feel like you have the pool to yourself. Magical!
Just fantastic and fun. Clean water
The coolest pool. Almost hundred years old. Have a dip while learning history.
Dont test the water just get in :)
It was a beautiful pool setting and it was a great experience, but I’m giving three stars because if you’re not a resident of the community they charge you 20 dollars to get in, and they DO NOT DISCLOSE ANYWHERE OR AT TIME OF PURCHASE that if you DO NOT RETURN THEIR TOKEN BEFORE THE FACILITY CLOSES AT 4:30, that the five dollars you are supposed to get back you will not get back. You would think that you’d let your customers change and then return their tokens to get their money back, but I guess that’s how you make your business, unethically. It was only eight minutes after the closing time that we returned with the tokens. We weren’t going to argue with the cocky kids in the front over five dollars each (basically ten dollars) but it’s the principle of things. You wouldn’t want to be robbed yourself, so why would you do the same to people who pay for your honestly overpriced swimming pool? Just wanting to warn others before they make the same mistake.
While its a little pricey for non- residents ($80 for a family of 4) its a beautiful pool and a great way to spend the day.I recommend bringing your own food. The restaurant is horrible. Over priced foods, that are poorly cooked with a long line. Took me more than 30 minutes to get our food the first time we went. This time we brought in sandwiches and it was much more enjoyable when we avoided the restaurant.
Really a good place for the whole family
Im just visiting and stopped by at the end of the day to see the pool since I had heard so much about it. It was dog day at the pool, they had the mobile adoption unit there and many people there with their dogs. What a great community service and a beautiful pool.
Went there many years ago as the tour bus stopped at that location, very beautiful surroundings and never forgotten the place, I would love to return one day..highly recommended
Beautiful thematic public pool in a nice area.Just dont be fooled by the public name, because to access the pool you need to pay for it.
Wonderful, large and unusual pool. Great place to take kids. Put it on your must go list.
Just love the place. Perfect - mid-city location, plus: pool, showers & food, makes it ideal for kids or adults to meet with their friends.
Awesome place. The water is amazing. Theres plenty of space in the sunshine and shade, whatever you prefer. The coolest parts were the cave and waterfalls
Beautiful public pool in the heart of Coral Gables. This is a great place for a fun time with kids and family.
The Venetian Pool is a wonderful place to transport yourself in time to one of the spectacular attractions in the city Beautiful of Coral Gables. The water is on the cold side. But your body adjusts quickly to the water temperature. It’s a place to enjoy with family and friends. Don’t forget to visit the cave at the pool and take plenty of pictures to show your family and friends. Pictures will bring back memories of your visit to this special place that I am sure you will want to return.
I visited here in March and this pool is not open. Theres even no water. No notice telling the reason why its closed, either. I didnt mean I dont like this pool giving it only one star. I just want to let others know that this pool is not open now. Dont go.
