This place is so cool! So much to look at and learn, fabulous collection of vintage items, and the diorama in the front room is beautifully detailed and contains a mini scavenger hunt. Truly fun for all ages
Definitely a must see location. So much history in one place. My little one lives going in to the museum and checking out the train outside.
Great central location to take advantage of all of downtown cookeville, and if you play Pokemon GO!, then its the place to start. Tons of gyms and pokestops
Its cool to hang out there with a friend and talk with them and see whats happening.
It’s always closed. Wait. Am I technically reviewing the train too? Because the train is cool. I was going to give the Depot Museum two stars, but now that I might also be reviewing the train, I have no choice but to give it five.
A most beautiful tourist attraction especially if you love steam engines. I hope the recent Tornado didnt damage it.
Amazing the information that is available from the volunteers there. Great place for kids to actually see what happened in a train depot. Get up close to a real steam train.
Great little train museum we really enjoy taking my son here. He climbs all over the train and has a blast every time.
Kid friendly -things to watch &do. A train exhibit with things to find, good info on how trains helped the area & then no longer being used. Historical exhibits but not overwhelming.
Such a cool place. Very interesting to see the different artifacts. The lady who works there is very helpful & super sweet. A must see.
Cute train Depot downtown. Friendly and fun for the kids.
Its beautiful,my family loves it.The staff is very inviting and informative. We just think its great
Great place to stop and stretch our legs. The kids really enjoyed seeing the model trains!
My visit there was very nice. I really enjoyed the displays and got to read a lot of information about the history of the city and how the railroad played a major part in its growth. There are indoor and outdoor displays. There is also a schedule posted as to times and days of guided informational tours also. Great educational tour for railroad buffs and the forever curious kids.
The depot is for train enthusiasts. Small trains to a full size steam engine. There were even several two person work carts.
We really enjoy this little gem here in Cookeville. This is a family-friendly place. Not too strenuous for little ones. They will enjoy seeing the Thomas the Train program which runs continuously. There are two antique railroad cars on the premises which are accessable for viewing. Entrance to the museum is free. You can make a goodwill donation if you choose. Each child that visits receives a gift bag. The staff is extremely friendly and good with kids. We bring all of our out-of-town guests to the museum and to this area of town. It is very quaint with lots of history. There are lots of places to eat, antique shops, and cute little boutiques to explore.
Lots of information and fun facts about Cookeville. Loved the 509 Locomotive and cars.
My younger boys love this Depot. We get Ice cream across the street, and back to the depot to explore . Ive been probably a dozen times the staff has always been very nice and interactive with all the children.
Very nice historic site. The kids can play on the train. Super nice.
A must stop in Cookeville, especially for history and train buffs. A perfect place for kids to enjoy and learn about trains. I recommend visiting the Cookeville History Museum & finishing with ice cream at Cream City.

Our lil Granddaughter thinks this is the only place to go in Cookville .
Awesome place to look at the way the railroad used to be. My daughter and her friend had a great time looking at the train and caboose as well as the museum.
Love this place. Its a short stop on a tour of Cookeville with very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Get an ice cream cone across the street and stroll through this place some day. Not bad. Entry is always FREE.

Great working model inside the old station office showing the area in the past. Old engine and rail cars to wander through, historic equipment to guess the use of, great ice cream parlor & coffee shop across the street. All in all, a great, al-be-it small museum!

So historical, very interesting
If you want a hands-on learning opportunity about Cookevilles role in the Tennessee Central Railroad, this is the place to go. The 509 is renovated with a viewing panel, and Cream City Ice Cream is right across the road. Check out Ralphs just south on S Cedar for Tennessees best donuts
Very interesting place.
My grandsons loves trains
We have been 3 times trying to get to tour the train after school. All the times the train was locked up before 4. We were there at 3:30 and it was already locked
Absolutely loved this gem in the south. The folks were great too this Yankee.
Very nice museum on site. Also free!
Spectacular experience! Friendly Virginia native was real informative, and got to see the train roll by- waived to the passengers, and took some pictures.
Fun little depot to visit. The staff is super friendly and it is nice to see a lesser known RR.
Loaded with history and worth a visit.
Great place to take pics
Cute little place that shows history of the railroad and country.
While we ate our yummy ice cream from across the street we sat on the benches at the depot and just enjoyed the view and ambiance of this great little town. This is a must stop through TN
Really good park like museum. There are several train cars open for exploration.
Great stop for history and fun as is the area surrounding the depot.

Great museum. The staff is very knowledgeable of the history.
A nice place to learn about local and time period history. Took about 15 or 20 minutes to go through.
