Great golf, friendly staff. Nothing like the early am T time, where the course is empty and with a fast 9 holes you can get your head right before work.Enough challenge that a beginner and a seasoned golfer can both enjoy the course. If you forgot the cigar for the round, they stock them, as well as golf supplies. After golf, good service and good food and a fair pour with good dinners.Make reservations, the chef likes to know how many to stock for on the special meals.I liked it so much, the reasonable membership rate was well worth investing in.
During our second round of golf, members Charles & Jane Black befriended us and introduced us to several of the other golfers on the course that day. We then met the owners Siri & Brett and realized that this was where we wanted to become members. Couples golf every other Sunday has become one of our favorite events. If you want to enjoy a true family oriented golf course, this is the place. Can’t wait to meet you on the course.
The facility and staff at Honey Creek Golf and Counrty Club are always pleasing. The course is in great shape. It looks better and better every year. Great course to play!
Course is in the best shape I have seen in many years. Friendly and amazing staff! Highly recommend for a fun round with good people.
Decent track, greens were terribly slow, fairways were in good shape, Bermuda rough were cut high enough to lost several balls of the tee. Short par fours were saved from approach by sand traps. You had to be in the fairway to score.
Love the friendly atmosphere here! The course looked great! Management and staff are always great!
We were invited to their bingo and trivia night. If you want an excellent burger, which is their Wednesday special apparently, this is the place. Can hardly wait for the ground to dry out around here and try the course. Multiple tourneys advertised, and Ive heard some of my friends say they have always liked this course.
Greens could use improvement. Got behind a group of 7 people in 1 group.
I grew up in a different culture and did not pick up a golf club until after 30. At the beginning I was so nervous about playing on the course since where I am from, golf is known for vanity, uppity and exclusiveness. The very first time I met the owner Brett and some of the members, I got a warm greeting and a detailed tour on the property. No promotion for membership and no pressure for any other sales. The young man in the pro shop is very customer-oriented and knowledgeable about the game. The staff that help you with bags is friendly and helpful. The bar area is always full of joy but occasional deep discussions. People from different generations and backgrounds all seem to really enjoy their time here. It is just sometimes I feel Brett is not appreciated enough for how much sacrifice he made to offer the highly affordable golf membership to introduce more people into the greatest game ever invented and how much he has to put up with some ridiculous behavior and harsh comments. As a relatively new owner, Brett is doing a great job and I have a lot of respect for him. Honey Creek is truly a decent course for the money and the food served here is beyond delicious. I wish Honey Creek all the best and hope it can witness my growing from a double bogey player into a legit bogey golfer.
This is a decent course that is set up for a quick weekday afternoon round. Fairways are in nice shape and tee boxes are decent. The greens and bunkers can use some work. The greens are starting to get burned by the sun and most of the bunkers look as if they havent seen a rake in a while. In all a decent course for the money and conveniently located.
Not played golf here but the bar has generally nice people most of the time.
Great, easy going course with a few tough spots just needs a little patch and green work.
Great course and staff in both Pro Shop and Bar
Our group walks 9 holes almost every Monday evening during the summer. AKA, Monday 9ers. We are very pleased with the progress of the course over the last few years. Very enjoyable and look forward to playing as often as we can. Great job by the new ownership. Dedicated to making it work. Thanks for your efforts.
Very nice course, I will play it again and again!
Very nice staff and fun golf course.....Ill be back
First time going there nice golf course
We walked and and was not greeted very pleasantly. We just wanted to see the banquet hall for a church event. The lady that greeted us told us she only had 10 mins we said thats fine we just wanted to see it. She showed us the place and reiterated that we are not allowed to use their kitchen to warm food. Which was fine we understand no out side food. However she just didnt have a hospitable attitude. I told my mom not to bother and get the paper work because she quickly walked off as my mom asked her a question. Maybe she didnt hear but I know she heard her speaking. She went to her office and said she didnt have anymore I thought it was sign I told my mom not to waste time but she waited for the lady to print the paper work. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We we were weary because we seen the review from years ago but I must say its the same thing. The lady matched the reviews and the furniture that we seen aged and mean. They are not hospitable please do not use.them.
Very tight cou8
Greens little slow but smooth. Fairways and t boxes very good condition. Friendly staff. Good value. Definitely going back soon.
Nice!
Honey creek country club has become a home away from home to me and my family! Ive been coming to honey for a few years now as a guest of one of there members! As of recently the golf course and the country club have come under new ownership and I can honestly speak for myself and all the members and golfers when I say we couldnt be happier! In the short time they taken over the the course & country club I have been amazed at the changes they had already put into place! To quickly understand honey creek golf and country club have been in operation for 30 years now and amazingly still has several of its founding members that still apart of the family at honey creek! That being said, When the current owners came in recently they were greeted with a lot of issues and years of neglect not only with the golf course itself but the facilitys as well! They have already jumped in with both feet in tackling the multiple issues that were there with the golf course and have no plans of stopping there that goes for the facility ad well!Honey creeks staff is some of the kindest people you could meet and have always treated me & family like family every time Im there! They have also recently brought on a new chef who does an amazing job at preparing a great dinner down to an afternoon Sunday brunch! There bartenders as well will always greet you by name and will talk with you as if youve known them for years! The best part about honey creek now more then ever is that when you come in your treated like family! Not only from the staff but even the members and yes the owners!I couldnt begin to tell how many times I come in to eat and the owners will pull up a chair and sit down just to talk with you! Not because they have to but because they want to they think of you as family and Ive have had some of best conversations with them! They often share there Hearts and there goals and what they look to achieve with honey creek and they have and are working very hard to make that happen day after day and make honey creek a truly great place to enjoy some golf or to stop by just eat or have a cold beer!Honey creeks owners love what they do and have put countless hours and hard work into making this place great again and are so proud of this great course and country club and and I know they look forward to making it better & better to all who visitSo I implore I know Im just another review, I know everyone is entitled to there own thoughts and opinions! But I just ask you to let Honeycreek speak for itself and stop by one day for a round of Golf or maybe stop in to grab something to eat and take a chance to meet the staff and see what a great change is being made here and get to know the honey creek family and I promise you want be disappointed
Theyve really done an amazing job on bringing this place back to its greatness. i cant wait to see what its going to look like this spring! one of my favorite local spots to play. Look on their website for hourly specials everyday because they have a lot better deals then golfnow.
The Restaurant is nice - great burgers, fries and beers. However:The course is horrible - the greens are brown and smell like dirty sweat socks, the fairways are mostly dirt with a little dead grassDont cross the owner or you will get your head ripped off.Overall the worst golf experience of my life.If you want to golf in the Rockdale/Newton area go to The Oaks or Cherokee Run
Both fairways and greens are looking great!!! Another few weeks and layout will be one of metro Atlantas notable tracks. Many thanks to Brett and his staff for a fine job ongoing.
Hometown favorite... good course and good people!!
Course in good condition. Good game today
It is a relaxed place to be with friends an have a good time.
This golf course is the best it has ever been. The new owners are fantastic . They have brought this club to an excellent condition in all aspects.
Price is good went on a Sunday pace of place excellentHowever the grass needed to be cut. Needs a little more attention to distance markers not accurate but Ill be back
My Boyfriend and I had a great time at this course! Lunch was very good, Pro Shop staff was very helpful! We will be back.
Few holes
My wife and i returned to the area in 2013 after living in another state for 12 years and i decided to join Honey Creek because some of the members that were there when i left are still there. To my surprise the course had been let go in all respects. Fortunately the new owners took over and immediately started making changes to improve things. We have seen significant improvement in the condition in the course ranging from massive tree cutting and brush removal to renovation of the greens and clubhouse to correct issues that had been ignored. I, along with many of the members believe the ownership is going to bring this course back. I invite anybody to come out and see the differences that have already been made.Ralph Trickler
Went to driving range. Very nice range and view. Friendly and helpful staff.
Quite, clean, easy. Just a good place for a quick round.
Really enjoy the course, staff and lounge. We always have a great time and are treated wonderfully.
Really working hard to make this a great course again. New management and big investment has been making a difference.
Excellent track. First time playing.
Course in great shape and very affordable! I love to play here.
A nice golf course that has made tremendous improvements in the past few years.
Love this course. Challenging and a great value!
In the past year this course has improved 100%. Membership is growing and the course is in great shape!!!Find out Youself!
Nice course and friendly staff.
Great staff, caring owners, and a local hospitality that cannot be beat.
Your typical golf and country club. Not for the fancy. Anyone and everyone welcome. The golf course is ok/fair. Many repairs and continuous work on the course give you the good and bad of how a course can be.
Not great but getting better.
