Good fields for kids. Although last field my kid played had no brown turf but most of them do. Overall it was fun watching the kids play.
Very nice place to play softball.Friendly concession staff.Parking Lot is SO MUCH better now that it is paved..
Facilities are first class and awesome to play at.Don’t practice here. Management can’t handle if you use their field for 15 minutes longer than you’re scheduled for. They have an accounting software that may be from last century, and they will always think you are trying to get one over on them.
Very nice fields. Everything is turf. Lots of shaded areas to sit. Stadium seating available also. Chairs have backrests. Very nice selection of food, not just your average ballpark food. Restrooms are clean and air conditioned. Cash and card accepted at the entrance.
While ordering food, I mentioned that when I was a highway trooper some 40 years ago I had worked around the area, but never knew there was a baseball park located there. The 2 ladies were extremely humble and gracious and told me that I would get a discount for being a retired officer. Then, one of them said that military people also got a discount. In which case I replied, well it would seem that having retired from the State and also having served in the Marine Corps, starting in 1969, Scrap Yard Sports owed me a cup of coffee. I would never ask for a refund, the business owners who apply their own resources to build these facilities are not recognized at all. The facility is neck and neck with the baseball fields in Franklin, TX. Havent seen any other fields to get excited about, their bathrooms extremely clean and sanitized.
Place has improved so much!!! Lower prices and the fields are so cool!
Great place to ball even if it rains all turf!!
Restrooms are always clean though hopefully they will have another restroom close to their back fields area and to buy food is well managed.Thank you
This is a nice place, atmosphere was great and the competition was great. I gave it 4 starts; Only thing wrong was the lighting on the fields at night. Not enough lights for the outfielders to see clearly.
Nice facility, Ive never seen the concessions open.
Very nice baseball facility. Cannot bring your own cooler.
Its very well kept, but the prices on the food is a LITTLE to expensive.
Clean well laid out park
One of my faves for softball tournaments. Best bathrooms of any softball facility Ive ever seen!
Great park, but parking could be better
Scrap Yard Sports has been great to our local SMGSL softball league for Blast Ball up to MX.They help out all the time and are a great resource when all fields are wet; we can still rent the indoor cages!
I do not recommend this ball park to anyone, the fields are nice but thats the only thing they have going for them. Do not go when its raining, their parking lot is muddy and needs repair. They do not allow the team to bring water in bc they claim they keep water in the dugout. Our girls played 1 tournament and there was no water for their first game and another tournament the ice melted so the girls were drinking warm water, in the Texas summer. Its ridiculous, all they care about is taking your money, $5 each to get in and the food and drinks are expensive. I hope that all teams will start to ban this place until they get it together.
Beautiful facility
Very nice baseball field
This used to be our favorite place for my son to play.Now.....its just another ballpark looking to take all your money the crappiest way possible. They used to charge $10 a car. Now is $5 a person, per day.You could bring anything you wanted in. Now they search you.The concession stand was full of good food served by good people for reasonable prices. Now its run by kids that dont say thank you, much less greet you with a smile. The food is now wrapped up, mushy, flavorless & under a heating lamp that barely casts heat. And they expect you pay over $5 for that food. The medium drinks are over $3....thats without free refills. The cups arent even styrofoam so your drink cant stay cold.I understand that a business has to make money. But really?? Not even free refills? And at $5 a person after Ive already paid for my son to play in this tournament??For a lack of a better word, scrapyard sucks.
Not handicap friendly. Had to go up stairs and down stairs to get the half mile back there to the field we were on. Then there was a covered area to get out of the sun, but no air flow at all. We were all melting and these were two early morning games. But friendly people that worked there. Oh heavens, they need signs to find this place from the freeway feeder exit to the facility. Even the huge sign that marks the entrance dies not stand out. I drove right past it. Fill those letters in with red and maybe we could see it. Needs signs in the park to show you how to get to each field as well. Nice fields.
Awesome baseball park. Expect to pay to enter. Great concessions. Only ballpark that allows the adults to purchase beer.
Sitting here watching the boys play and the umpire on the field is terrible. Both games I have watched,1 which I had no one I knew playing, he was making terrible calls. I don’t know what he’s looking at but my blind dog could see better than this guy. It’s happened numerous times both games. Just terribleBathrooms are clean, a little pricey on food, nice fields.
This place does NOT care about baseball or the teams that play there! We played several tournaments at this facility and ended our season there with our World Series. Weather is out of their control, but instead of working with the tournament THEY were hosting...they cancelled the constellation bracket for the World Series (biggest tournament of of the entire season) and brought over an entirely different tournament on same weekend to collect more money and allow them to finish out. They charge outrageous prices for food....be prepared to pay $75 for about $15 worth of food.Their fields are turf but this family would chose other ballparks / grass ANY day over Scrapyards. Would rate as 0 stars if it was an option!
Very nice baseball field! The nicest I have ever been to. The restrooms were clean, not porta-potties, and didnt smell. The parking lot could use more gravel to help with mud when it rains. The fields are turf and the seating area is covered with nets nicely to catch fly balls. There are two levels you can sit on. The concession area has a wide variety of foods for lunch. Breakfast was breakfast tacos (which were good). The cost of the food is high though. For example, $3.98 for a breakfast taco, $2.98 for a bottle of water, $6.98 for chicken strips, $3.98 for a 32oz fountain drink. The food and beverage prices is my only gripe.
Its a really good complex and has good food
Awesome facility!!
Its a very nice place. Lots of baseball fields, turfed up and clean. a big parking lot, and they also have a vending shop food and snacks. I really liked it.
Great baseball and softball venue. Located in South Montgomery County/ Woodlands area. You can watch girls Fast Pitch Softball here, including professional. Very fast and reasonable priced concessions are available here. Great place to watch little league baseball. These are the best ball fields in the area. Very professional staff.
Great softball place.
Beautiful baseball fields and the park is very clean and well maintained, restrooms are the best but the food court is expensive.
Would be helpful to have a rainout line or something instead of making it impossible to find out if the fields are closed!!!
Always love playing here.
The Scrapyards is a great place to play. As an umpire I wish they didnt serve alcohol because some of the fans just dont when they have had enough and act a fool.
Great fields and atmosphere
Very friendly and good beverages
Nice fields, but they won’t let you bring healthy snack for the kids. And they only sell junk food in the cafeteria. For the amount that teams pay to play for weekend tournaments they should sell something decent or allow you to bring in at least some decent food.
Good parking. Nice fields.
Amazing ballpark! A field of dreams!! Not only is it a nice facility the staff cares! Best restrooms around...
Nice facility but 13u fields are WAY TO SMALL225 and center 265 surprise nations lets them host tournaments on those small fields
Clean and well maintained
Very nice facility, but wont allow outside drinks or food
Checking out some AAU SOFTBALL@Phaze2softball
Awesome fields. Entrance cost and food cost is a bit high.
Beautiful facility and the umps were awesome!!!
No team coolers allowed?!? The water in the Gatorade jugs in the dugout are nasty. I hope we never come back.
First of all there was a little boy who slid into home, the very first inning, and ripped his leg open on home plate (which was damaged ).The game was stopped and medical was called. Two kids showed up with an open roll of gauze and did finally bring ice. The wait was quite long for the plate to be switched out, so no other child would be hurt. Why there is NO ICE AND NO FIRST AID KITS AVAILABLE IS BEYOND ME!!!! Why did the damaged plate go unnoticed? Who job is it to make sure the kids are safe!!!!The facility is nice, but more attention should be paid to the safety of the children. This isnt the first time that No ice is available for an injury. At least that could be provided as on a 96 degree day, personnel told us to empty our water bottles at the gate!!!!! Not everyone can afford to buy bottle after bottle of your overpriced water!!!!I wouldnt miss this place at all if we never played at the scrapyard again!!!! Hopefully someone will read this seriously!
Great facility, easy parking and very friendly staff! Love playing here!
Awesome place!
Holy Schmoly $1.50 for a ring pop?? Water is $3. I was smugglin in water like a bonifde dealer. Place is nice though.
After having to pay to play in a tournament, pay to get in, not allowed to bring in our own snacks and drinks and spending more money on food, we played a game with only one umpire. The one umpire did the best he could but he couldn’t cover everything. When this what brought to the tournament directors attention, he got defensive and rude to the parent. Also, a kid in the prior game threw up in the dugouts. They changed the trash but didn’t clean up off the ground.I understand things happen, but when things were brought to their attention, Scrapyard officials handled it very unprofessionally.
Really nice baseball fields
Everyone always talks about how great The Scrapyard is, you need to play there, it is the best....... I think the field is nice, the dug out area is nice for the players and coaches. However, there is no scoreboard. Parking is limited and the white rock you have to walk through is sub par. Also when a tournament is going on, I think construction should be put on hold. Large dump trucks, constant backup beeping, not to mention the dust were all annoyances. We also paid an expensive tourney fee to play there. We played only two games because the next day we were put an hour away on fields in West Little York. Those fields were shabby at best with NO working restroom facilities. Luckily the city park restroom was close by and open. If you pay to play at the Scrapyard then that is where you need to play. If you have to move fields at least pick something close and decent. Sadly I am disappointed the Scrapyard did not live up to the hype.
I hit a homerun
Nice but needs some updates
Facilities are very nice. Large dugouts. Parking is terrible and with the amount they charge for the facility use and gate fees they should be able to pave it all.My biggest concern. It is June and the temp is around 95 plus degrees I took my own cup into the concession stand to get a little ice and they charged me $2.00. This is an absolute traversing and when I said something to the manager she said deal with it, it is what is. You are correct I will deal with it a never return again. It’s not the select teams fault that the pro team is going broke and they need to squeeze everything they can out of youth sports teams. People in Houston need to wake up. This place could absolutely thrive if it was run by someone that actually took the customers seriously. $2.00 for ice is prolly a 2000% markup on the conservative side. Hooefullly someone does not fall out due to dehydration and let me know how that law suit goes.
My favorite softball field, made for women. Covered stadium seats, nice bathrooms and beer or canned cocktails. A long weekend of softball doesnt get better. Do expect to pay to get in and if raining, prepare for a puddled rock parking area.
Excellent place to play softball, especially during inclement weather due to the nice turf fields. Only 3 stars because this is a for profit park that will do everything it can to suck the money out of the participants pockets. They wont even allow team coolers into the park for the players to bring their own water in.
Its a Great place for people to enjoy a good game
Prices are outrageous.Period.$15 for a 10 ct chicken nuggets and small box of fries. Ridiculous.Spent over $30 for a meal for 2 for half decent food.
Turf ball fields here and pristine property. It was nice but it just doesnt have that ball field feel - dirt and dust in your eyes and everywhere else.
Decent facilities, but everything is overpriced and you cant bring your own cooler...
Does not have handicap ramp or rails to go down from/to once you enter and want to go to the fields. Risky. Stepping down or up is impossible with a cane or walker without assistance. Impossible with a wheelchair. Other than that....beautiful facility well kept and maintained.
I really love this place! Very clean and well taken care of. Love the seats and covers for when it’s raining or sun is out. Very comfortable! Food is a bit to high! Too expensive! I did have a issue with the people who work there though! I was not aware that you could not bring waggons into the concession stand. When you walk in the sign is pretty small. and if there’s people standing in front of it leaving as you’re coming in it’s very hard to see. The day before I had brought my waggon in there 2 to 3 times. and no one said anything to me even the lady who checked me out. Today I was in there for a good 10 minutes and a woman behind the concession stand came up to me in a very rude voice and said ma’am we do not allow waggons in here and there is a sign up front and turn around and walked off ! She was very rude and disrespectful! I would have gladly taken my waggon out side but the rudeness made me not want to follow what she was telling me to do. If that makes sense. The young people who work there were also very rude and disrespectful. No smiling nothing.,like they don’t want to be there! Other than that I am fine with the way things are there. We love spending our days playing and watching baseball at the Scrap Yards! The owner really needs to have a meeting with her workers and let them know that they need to have good customer service! We pay a lot of money to play here and buy food. We should not have to deal with rudeness! Ruined my whole day! Be nice it’s not hard! Or don’t work somewhere you deal with people! I really hope this gets fixed!
We have been practicing there for the last 3-4 years and have watched them create a baseball/softball park that is one of the best parks in the Houston area! It has a great atmosphere and a very friendly staff. Cant wait to see the finished product. I wouldnt be surprised to see a hotel on the property by the time they get done!!
Nice facilities reasonable price. Concessions lines were way too long, need more check out lanes.
Nice facility but pricey admissions and concessions. Parking lot was aweful. Gravel lot needs to be paved.
This place is awesome. Best field ive been to.
The scrapyard is a nice ball park but the food is majorly over priced. So make sure you eat before getting there or bring a bunch of money.
Fields are nice. Seating is not that great. They charge to get in for weekend softball tournaments AND their prices for concession are so expensive, and youre blocked from bringing your own cooler or food bag.
On Behalf of the 13 Tides and 8 Kings! 9 games over two days and two championships. The Scrapyard is not only beautiful, but clean. They keep the place very clean. Bathrooms and trash cans. The service was wonderful. Thank you for giving our boys an amazing facility! Everyone was kind the umpires were very fair and treated us all with respect.Cant wait to play with you all again. Thank you!!
Fields are nice. Parking sucks. They only open the gate for the back parking lot if the front lot is full, or if kickball is going they close it. It makes it inconvenient if your team is on the back fields. They do it because limited staffing to monitor people coming in for games. If your kid has a tournament here make sure you bring money to get in and dont stop by Starbucks. You can not have any outside food or drink and they will make you drink or throw away your coffee. Overall its a decent place.
Fields are very nice but there are no score boards on most of the fields tho. 90% of the umpires cant see a strike zone if it was painted in front of them.
Very disappointed once again in this facility. $5.00 per person per day to enter. No signs labeling fields. You can wander around for 10 minutes trying to find your team. No outside food or drink allowed. You can bring in a tumbler with a drink but not a bottle of water. Silly me for not smuggling it in in my child’s baseball bag. You can buy a moderately sized fountain drink for $5.00! Concessions are over priced compared to other facilities in the area. Uncomfortable fold down seats on most fields with very little shade. A child on the team before us vomited in the dugout and they did nothing to disinfect the area. Glad our team doesn’t play many tournaments here! Bad calls made today because they only put one umpire in the field that stayed behind the pitcher. There’s no way one man can call pitches and baseline hits.
Nice facility. $5 tickets and high dollar food though.
Completely overrated place. Overpriced parking, overpriced food. It is completely unacceptable to sell alcoholic beverages during a youth softball tournament.
Scrap Yard is the best!! Great spot to watch softball and play kickball. Great local attraction!
Awesome fields! Not so awesome concession prices. If you have 20 dollars in your wallet theyre going to get it.
Beautiful facilities. Nice restrooms lots of parking however pulling wagons into Park on loose caliche is a little bit rough. Park has grown and there are several Fields now All Turf very well taken care of
Dont know where this is. Must was passing by
The fields are Great! We love having our baseball tournaments at Scrap Yard. The concessions could be better though. The prices are so high- $5 for a hotdog is ridiculous.
Spent this weekend of Fathers Day at this facility for grandsons baseball tourney. Great facility and well run. Payed admission of $5 each for my wife and I to get in each time and didnt think this was a problem or too much to ask. Bought a hotdog and pizza for a price I didnt think was unreasonable really at all. I understand them selling to support a nice facility. Bathrooms were always clean and to me very nice....glad to have them!! I applaud the management! I think they run a nice place!
Very clean and well maintained complex, safety seems to be a high priority with these people and it’s refreshing to see a complex care about the kids playing ball more then making a buck!!!!
Great place to play some baseball.
The weather was not good but thats not the venues fault. As for the establishment it was good! Turf field our girls werent sure of but we took FIRST place in the 12 U division so we were Happy!!
MY GRANDBABY PLAYED THERE
Haha, never seen so much astroturf since the Astrodome, too funny. This place has to bring in sewage trucks which were very loud and added a special unwanted memory to our lifetime of baseball watching :) We encountered this not just once but during a couple of our grandsons games that we attended, oh and we just pray the wind will not blow your way like it did for us :(. We were told they have to use these pump trucks since the surrounding subdivisions MUD would not let them connect to their sewage system, I am sure the surrounding subdivisions were not happy with this land going from a scrapyard to a loud bright light smelly baseball park in their backyard, bet they want the scrapyard back :)...Wow Really?, they could not of found a better place for a park? Texas has plenty of land :) Oh Suggestion: Dont Pump during games or give out gas mask and ear plugs during pumping, what a Kodak Moment that would be huh, everyone wearing gas mask at a baseball game hahaha...Ok for my Last Grip :), they even charge to get in this kids baseball park, haha I guess to pay for all the fake grass and sewer pumping haha lol, can you tell I am old (no I am not drunk but my teeth fell out laughing so hard :) Hey give the developers/owners a trophy, we know you have plenty since every kid gets one now a days :)
Amazing place to play baseball or softball..the staff is super friendly and the management team goes over beyond to help you out..
