This place is amazing! A real diamond in the rough lol pardon my pun. I remember this place being the place for homecoming and prom events when I was younger. I’m sure a lot of weddings have also taken place here. The new owners have the place looking better than ever! As soon as you enter the neighborhood you already feel a sense of peace. Then the drive to the club is beautiful. This place is a known landmark for many surrounding communities. Everyone should come and enjoy all its amenities.

For the price this is a very good value.

Played here while visiting family in The Woodlands. Tight, forested fairways, but somewhat short, placing more emphasis on accuracy than distance. The crew had the course in pretty good shape; greens were true and fairways were good, though a bit fluffy. Cost me $45 on a weekday morning — Ive paid more for worse courses, so its a pretty decent value. Staff in the pro shop was very friendly. Ill return when Im back in town.

This course is subpar in condition and the woman that works the front desk is rude. The only reason my friends and I played this course was because it was cheaper than most courses in the Woodlands area. But since the quarantine, they have now moved their price from $30 to $50 for Saturday rounds. They ruined their niche, no reason to play here anymore.

The place was nice. You walk in, and the layout was fitting for events because when you walk in, you dont immediately see the meeting area, which could take your attention if you could. I liked the overall environment and bar location. Because Ive only been there once, I dont think my experience can be seen as a quality experience, but I liked what I saw.

I enjoyed a lovely brunch with friends. The buffet had a nice assortment and was fresh and delicious. The mimosas were the best. The staff was so on top of taking care of everyone.

As much as I dogged their other property (OakHurst) in a previous review back in March, I feel it is only fair to give credit where credit is due. Played RP last week and found that it is a well maintained, fun, and challenging course. The greens were in good shape and rolled true. The staff was friendly and when my playing partner lost his phone, they left no stone unturned until they found it. Great experience overall!!! Will head back tomorrow to get in another 18.

Wow, played this course today for the first time. What a hidden gem! I love this course! It is in great shape and and the greens are almost perfect. The green fees were very reasonable and included 2 drinks! The club house is in great shape and and even the food was good. The staff was as friendly as they could be and the whole experience was fantastic. The only drawback (for them not for me) was that there was hardly anyone else playing! So, do yourself a favor and go out there and give them a try! They need your business!!!

Wow! The newly transformation of this club is AWESOME!! Great Event Venue and Views of the Golf Course. The Sunday Brunch is very good. The staff and customer service are outstanding!! If you are thinking about a Wedding or Quinceanera this is a MUST.

Played today and the golf course conditions were great. New Ownership has renovated this property nicely. New Superintendent, Great Chef, Food, and Staff. This course was by far the worst course I have played in the Conroe area. Don’t let the pictures fool you. They make the 18th green look good on your way in, but the greens are just dirt. Also they are not very aware of what is going on in the world right now, as I was leaving they had a shotgun tournament starting, with around 50-60 hanging around the Pro shop. Pace of play might be the worst thing about this course though. After the front 9, there we’re 4 groups lined up waiting to tee off at Hole 10 so we had to turn around and play the Front 9 again just to finish in time for the shotgun tournament to start. Definitely not even worth the 24$ twilight time.

Well managed course kid enjoys her tournament there.

Feb 1 after a rainy week in winter so course conditions were expectedly a little rough in places. Staff super friendly and professional. Will be back again. 10/10 can recommend

Not worth the green fee at all. There was more dirt than grass on the greens. Felt like I was putting on the cart path. Would not recommend.

Fairways are very good, alot of the greens are just dirt others have a little grass which makes it difficult to putt.

I am new in the area so I Played River plantation today and was very disappointed the course is not worth $50 a round $30 would be more like it. The houses on the course is trashy so the scenery is not something to enjoyed. The greens is so-so. Overhaul I did not enjoy playing there. Need to find a good couple of courses around any recommendations.

Love river plantation, played this course many many many times. Usually in great shape with great staff.

Greens are looking fantastic and rolling true. Bunkers could use work but they are working on turning that around. Finished 18 in just over 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was very friendly. Great value.

Not sure how to put this. It looks like River Plantation is trying to make a come back after devastating storms hit the area few years back. So my rating of this course would not be fair without that explanation.I would encourage golfers to come back and play. Its not in the best shape however, with more people playing would help get the course back on its feet.The greens are starting to improve and the fairways are coming around.If your like me and want to see more course in the area please go play at River Plantation. Don’t waste your money here. Good reviews are by new owners. Course is in abysmal state and staff is way behind where they need to be to compete with any of the other clubs in the area. Drive a few extra minutes in any direction and you’ll find a much better course/club/establishment.

The bad reviews ARE NOT the old employees and all the good reviews are the new owner unfortunately. The familiarity of the post makes it pretty obvious, plus if you click on the accounts, it shows the bad reviews left on other Conroe/The Woodlands area courses by the owners.Other than that, it’s a good track that can play challenging for all. Decent practice area for all.Good food menu and really hard work put in by the staff.Would like to see this place take off in the future and it has the resources to do so.Wish the staff and members all the best here!

The course is in great shape!!

Nice fairways and greens. Good burgers also! Beware of rates quoted over the phone. The rates were quite a bit higher than they quoted over the phone when booking the tee time. Not the first time it’s happened here. Carts are not in the best condition.

Golf cart broke down and group in front of us was very slow. Did not seem to have a Marshall to aid in speed of play

This is probably the worst course I’ve played, conditions were horrible can’t believe they charge people to play here. The food was the best part. Will not be back!

I worked for you back when Kingwood Cove was is full swing. Going to be one of my go to spots now. Oakhurts is a awesome course aswell. Yall should go check that out aswell!!!!!!!

River Plantation Country Club is easy to see from I-45. It has a nice Covered Bridge as you first enter. The roads are paved well. It has a little Park area when you first drive in and a gazebo. Its a nice subdivision and lots of trees. Definitely a nice place. my first time Ive been here and I will be back again. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Not sure if theyre in the process of closing...but it looks like it. The pro shop is nearly empty. Theyve closed Charleston for reasons unknown. Theyve stopped caring for tee boxes. The bridges on Augusta are still down from Harvey, turning a par 5 into a terrible par 3. Theyre charging fees for a course that youd assume is well kept. Its not. Play at West Fork or Panorama.

Get lost in the mature forests as you navigate 36 holes of shady cart paths. Nice and quiet and the staff and patrons are very welcoming. Affordable prices make R.P. a real gem!

Nice course, in good shape. I got paired up with a stranger and had a blast. People seemed nice from what I saw. Im a terrible golfer but still had a great time. Id go back.

The owner sold it away and now most of the grounds it owned are covered in waist-high grass and weeds. Not to mention, its becoming a motel, of a sorts.Its like backwards gentrification

Undemanding course, shouldnt lose too many golf balls :-) drainage could be better. One hole is a little dangerous as it runs along next to a fairly busy road. Restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful.

My go to course! Fantastic Staff, Course, and Food. The sister course, Oakhurst Golf Club, is good as well.

Good golf courses, good layout. The only issue I had here were that some area residents were using a few greens as their personal range. They were hitting balls from their backyard on to the greens and the fairways. Its Okay for the price.

Ive played this course several times and its in the worst shape of ANY course Ive ever played in Montgomery County. Wont be back anytime soon.

Great golf course layout! While it lacks a bit of care in the fairways, this is a very challenging course with plenty of changes in elevation and hazards. If you can play this one well, you can play any course well.

Beautiful views of the golf course and fountains. Very cleans dining room, food was presented well. Only one draw back it was over salted and I personally could not eat it.

The course is still recovering from hurricane Harvey and it rained last night so it was cart path only. I think in another few months it will be a nice course again.

I visit 3 times a year, try to play 2-3 9 hole rounds each visit! Today(3/12/18) arrive to find that new management has taken over. Found local membership dropped by half, and more important to me, that they no longer have a 9 hole rate! Visiting family here I just don’t have time to play a full 18 holes! Lady was more than willing to let me play 9 and pay for 18! It’s a shame because Course has 27 holes, perfect for 9 hole play! My home course in CT is similar and allows 9 hole play and attracts players all day long! (See Facebook: Elmridge Golf Course). I will hope management here changes their decision for my next visit to Conroe!

Great atmosphere on Wednesday burger night. Otherwise nothing to write home about.

Its beautiful in the spring. Even though they occasionally flood, they do keep up the clubhouse and the course. It seems that after each flooding event they make improvements to the course, in order to prevent future damage, if possible.

Starter put two of us behind two groups of 5. Sometimes all 10 were on same.hole. Far slower than it should have been as the groups didnt have enough courtesy to allow anyone to play through

Lots of potential and they put on a great party for my grandmothers 90th birthday but the facility itself feels underutilized.

This is my favorite neighborhood in this area! I absolutely love all the mature trees throughout and the people that live here are always so nice and friendly.

We actually live on the course and refuse buy a membership due to the poor service quality, lack of maintenance of the greens, and rude employees. My husband just took his friends all golfing for 9 holes on his best friends wedding day a week ago. The staff was rude, misquoted pricing, didnt alert them to dress code when they reserved tee times, and then gave them zero direction as to where to get carts or where the first hole was. They literally had to walk out and find the carts on their own. My husband and all of his friends said the course was poorly maintained (i.e. the greens were in horrible shape and there were hundreds of dead trees hanging over the fairway that blocked their drives multiple times) Weve lived on the Charleston course since last June and have had to complain multiple times about them not mowing their grass (our survey stakes are still in the yard from when we purchased the house showing it actually is the golf courses property that they refuse to mow) and it took them over a year to cut down a VERY dead tree leaning on our property that even the previous owners of our house had been sending letters requesting they cut the tree since HUGE branches were falling and causing damage in the back yard. Overall, poor service, poor follow up, not worth the $200+ a month for a membership. If my husband wants to golf, he can pay each time and after the last weekend when he took all his friends Im not sure that hell do that even unless they make some serious changes to how they run the club. Disappointed. The course was one of the reasons we bought the house and it has been a huge let down. Im emailing them yet again today for the grass to be mowed since the grass on their property is now over a foot tall.
