Good course conditions and a abundance of wildlife. Friendly staff and great pace of play. By far the best place to play for the $$ in the Conroe/Woodlands area. River Plantation is a sister club and has the same pricing. Thanks
This is a great layout, it is in pretty good condition, and the staff has always been friendly. It is priced at a rate that makes it an exceptional value for the experience. The course plays down into the river bottom and away from houses giving a more back to nature feel for most of the round. Lots of animals out and about on the course... I would suggest anyone to play it...
Beautiful Course and the staff is very caring. By far the BEST Value in the area. Panorama is much higher and their pace of play is 5+ hours. New ownership is spending $$$ on improvements and it shows. Thank You!
Over priced and poor customer service not to mention the course has numerous issues. But if you were looking for an easy track it is straight and mostly flat so don’t expect your imagination to be challenged. Panorama is 10 minutes away and has lower rates for a Much better maintained course with a more challenging layout.
This place is huge over 200acres of greens, with tons of wildlife. Clean clubhouse and great staff. Israel is one of the best Golf pros out there today. Always giving great insight and tips to help the game. I reccomend West Fork Golf Club.
Nice layout and very affordable. The new ownership are making nice improvements to the facility. Thank you for enforcing the rules and regulations! Previous management did nothing. Thank You new ownership for caring.
Used to be a decent course for the $30 Saturday rounds. But they recently moved the Saturday rounds to $50. Woodlands/Conroe area has plenty courses much nicer than West Fork for similar price. They should not have changed price, they lost their niche. Oh and the woman who works at the bar openly requests tips, just not becoming.
Awesome layout! Great staff and value. Needs to be on your bucket list to play.
Second time we showed up early. Sat there for an hour. Finally left after over an hour. Good course and improvements.
In my opinion I would not recommend this golf course to the abundance of golf courses in the area:1) the golf course is in pretty terrible shape especially compared to golf courses within a 1 hour radius, coming from College Station none of the courses I have been to from Navasota to anywhere in the North West Houston area have been half a burnt up as West Fork. If anything the greens are manageable but the fairways are like playing out of West Texas hard pan.2) the customer service is atrocious, I contacted the course the day after with some concerns that I had regarding a course marshal and his disregard for the pandemic. This included being extremely aggressive to the point he was in one of my fellow golfers face and constantly stopping by our group throughout the round at much closer than a suitable socially distanced space. When I contacted the course I was pretty much told hard luck and that my group were the ones who were in the wrong.Overall, at a $50 weekend green + cart fee I would highly recommend you go play one of the nicer courses in the area. I really don’t know who the management at West Fork golf club thinks that they are but they are certainly not a Tour 18, or other nice public course in the area, and with a price that reflects that they think that I would figure their customer service would be somewhere above abysmal.
There’s way too many golf courses in this area to spend $36 pp here for a 1:30 game. Course is in horrendous shape and way too many people. Go to Panorama. Pay less and have a better experience.
Great layout with elevation changes and a abundance of wildlife! By far the BEST value and rates in the Conroe/Woodlands Area. Must Play!!
Man behind counter was very nice. Starter that was at first tee was very rude.
Greens are great but the Fairways need water. Had a great time.. still a great challenge! Fantastic deal for twilight!
Outstanding value and layout. Nice staff!
Played today and was disappointed that no one in the club house was wearing a mask and no plexiglass shielding I guess covid doesnt exist at Westfork Golf and Country Club. Now the course, as always the fairways have some native grass growing in them and a lot of unrepaired divits in the fairways, theres no sand in the cart so you cant repair them. The greens are the same with native grass infiltrating them this only applies to some of them but dead spots on the greens hinders your putting number 10 is probably the worst but not the only one. I will say this the greens are fast and do hold the ball fairly well. The course is a good layout with some natural elevation changes and can be challenging. It needs a beverage cart thou because there isnt a lot of shade and it gets hot.Is it worth the money I dont think so right now, but with additional maintenance and a way to quench your thirst with a beverage cart it might be.Foremost for now is to have the employees wear masks when dealing with the customer and enforce the mask rule for players in the golf shop as they do at other courses.
New ownership and management making improvements and making a great hire with the Director of Agronomy. Thank You new ownership.
Decent track. A little expensive for what it is, but still a good time.
No water. No cart girl. Marshall took our water and told us good luck. Tee boxes are dry and like concrete. Cigarette buds everywhere. Not coming back anytime soon.
Best Value for Golf in The Area! The NEW Ownership doing improvements and hired a great superintendent. Joined for $46 a month and get to play all 3 courses, WF, River Plantation, and Oakhurst. Must Play!!
Greens are in great shape. The fairways not very good. Need lots of water/rain.
I have played this course for several years it was a great course and then it went downhill. There ate new owners now and I am seeing definite changes to this course in a positive direction. I am very happy for the improvemens.
Trash....by far the worst course I have ever played in my life. Save your money, play anywhere but here. Pro-shop guy was nice, that’s the only positive. Marshall spent most of his time fishing by the tee box. Please fix everything.
If I could give it negative stars, I would. I can honestly say that I can not think of a golf course that I have played in my lifetime that was in worse condition than this one. To top it off, my playing partner and I left after 12 holes because the play was so slow. I had to put myself out of misery and leave. I will never come back and will advise anyone that asks me, to not waste their money.
Nice track and great to play! It is a hidden gem. The greens were in good shape except for a few holes! I will definitely be going back soon to play it again because the course will have a totally different look when everything is green!
If you are looking for a place to play golf at a fair price and good course conditions, you have arrived. I didnt say excellent conditions but since they have recovered from the flooding last year it gets better every day. Fair rates, friendly staff, great snack bar prices. One of my favorite places to play that is affordable.
New ownership and superintendent are making improvements to the facility. Game changer for this area!
A bit expensive for what it is and 25 minute wait on every tee box. 8 holes in 2 and a half hours.
Drinks are expensive as hell. Golf course was worth the price.
From being excited to play for first time in months to never ever coming back... Spent well over 100 dollars in the clubhouse then was denied an ice chest for the cart by a crabby old lady. Literally grabbed it while was in my hand and told me my one beer and a water were not enough... Was beyond rude and disrespectful... Keep in mind its 100 degrees in texas right now... I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!
What a terrible place! First its $30 to rent garbage clubs, then its $32 for the worst greens Ive ever played on. Greens are riddle with divots and terrible bald spots. Some are soggy at 3:00 p.m. some are hard at 3:00 p.m. do not waste your time or hard earned money.
Things Just Got Better at West Fork! New golf course superintendent and New Ownership and Management. 54 holes of golf with your membership. River Plantation, Oakhurst, and West Fork.Best Golf Value in The Woodlands/ Conroe Area!!!
If I could give this review a negative star rating,I would! I cant explain how bad this golf course is. We have played this course for years, but never again! The greens have fungus, mold, weeds and havent been tended to in a long, long time by the looks of them. There were legitimately three cars in the parking lot. Walking to the 1st green and we suddenly knew why. After speaking with an attendant,he told us that over twenty people have cancelled their memberships and Im assuming there will be more to follow. Aesthetically its a nice course but that is all. I/we will not be returning to this course! Im not one to call for peoples jobs but the GM,superintendent and grounds crew should be ashamed of the product they have their names attached to. I really wish I could upload pictures to share my displeasure with this place. Never again!
Just visited this course and had a great time, not to crowded and the food was good. I’ve played on a lot of the corses on the the north side and this one is the best bang for the buck. The greens are starting to come back but fair ways are in great shape. Will be returning with our group of 4.
2.5 stars, rounded up. Worst greens in the area: full of crab grass. The shooting range next door made it hard to concentrate on my shots. But the price was right, and the snack bar is cheap and has good stuff. I would suggest playing here if you cant get in anywhere else, or just dont want to spend the money that day. The fairways were good, except for a few dead patches, but nothing terrible. The main deterrent to going here is the crabby greens.
1st time playing this track and I liked it. The change in elevation was great (I play mostly in Houston where 99% of the courses have no elevation changes). The layout was fun and forgiving. The greens looked thin but they rolled well. I cant speak on the bunkers because for once I didnt play out of a single one :). Even though its about a 50 minute drive for me, Ill definitely be back to play again
Great course but the greens need a lot of attention...
Not sure what their weekend prime rates are. I went on a Monday afternoon and paid 31 and some change. The greens are all in excellent condition and most of the holes are in a rural setting with no houses. If you are like me and not the greatest golfer but expect a decent course at a decent price and enjoy natures scenery then this is the perfect course.
We are very respectful people, though our demeanor isnt usually conducive to a positive reception...but coming here the staff (all) were lovely. The course was also pleasant. Will definitely be coming back.
Very nice and in good shape
It is a nice course. They charge too much at the time because the greens are in bad shape. They should reduce the price per round until they fix the problem.
Greens were really rough but the price was fair and the course looked ok. Well be back for sure, hoping the course is in better shape.
The golf course is improving, good course for the fees charged.
This is an excellent, affordable course. A couple of (small) spots on a few greens need some repair, but it’s a good course with an appropriate challenge from each tee box that I try to play at every week.
Good track but needs a bit more upkeep..at least blow the leaves off the greens. I love the layout. Course has tremendous potential. Marshalls dont enforce pace of play very well..I followed a group of hackers for 6-7 holes and the Marshall dodged me, even when I was trying to save him down. The spring is the time to play it.
Great course. Greens are a little choppy but not bad. Would recommend getting hot deal from golf now for reasonable rates.
Could be a good course - just a little run down at the moment
Awesome experience. They give me free range balls and I am able to practice my game everyday
Great value. Good pace.
Love the course but the greens are trash right now.$48 is a lil high for such horrible greens
Good, fairways need repairs
Really enjoy playing here staff very nice and a good challenge on the course. Think they have done a great job on the course after the flooding this will be the place when I want to golf thanks all all for your service
Good layoutGreens are pretty rough though.Weeds are taking over.Do not even consider walking this track unless you have a death wish. You gotta be in shape to walk from the parking lot to the club house.
Starting to get in spring shape good value
I like the layout of the course and the wooded surroundings but many of the tee boxes are predominantly dirt and the rest of the course is only in ok condition. Ill continue to play here because the price is right. If you need refreshments, be sure to pick them up at the clubhouse before you head out because there was no cart service.
The course is in great shape if you ask me.... the floods and hogs will always be an issue but for the price, id say its on PAR! (
We called early in the day to setup a tee time at 6 PM. We told the guy that we might be running slightly late due to traffic leaving work. He said no problem, and to get there whenever we can. We left immediately after work and got there at 6:06 pm. The guy not only wouldn’t let us play the round, he didn’t have the decency to OPEN THE DOOR AND TALK TO US. We literally argued with him for over 15 minutes through a glass door. He said that the computer that takes payments turns off after 6, and he was “unable” (aka too lazy) to turn it back on. He gave us a bucket of balls to go hit on the range as a substitute. I’m not quite sure how the course is because we didn’t get to play on it, but the service is miserable.
Good golf course, pretty challenging on some holes. I recommend.
Great course and a great day. Good mix of open fairways and swampy natural landscape made it great to drive through. Very beautiful.
Good course, greens in good shape and not too pricey .
There service is excellent, but I dont like hole 7, 9 and one or two on the back nine!
Aside from hole 9, I love this course. Price and course condition are definitely worth the drive...
Nice venue, friendly folks.
Very nice underrated course
Nice course
Great course. Popular on weekends. Go during the week to avoid heavy traffic.
Fairly easy course for the avid golfer but fun for the everyday guy like myself. Fairly well kept and prices are competitive.
Fun course. Bring bug spray, lots of wetlands. WARNING: Google maps driving directions are wrong. Enter subdivision off 105, not Old Montgomery Road.
Course is in poor condition and no clubhouse. The longtime superintendent just recently left. Looking like another golf course closing. RIP
This is a beautiful course and is in great shape for January, especially after our recent freeze. It can get a little crowded on the weekends, but thats mostly because a few other nearby courses have closed.
Great mix of long and short holes. Challenging design, and great for any of you long drive hitters!
This was the 2nd time I played this course and it was still in bad shape. The greens are muddy and soggy. I really dont know why since it hasnt rained in weeks. I guess the mower they have is broke because the was chunks of dried grass all over the greens. You need a broom. It was the same way last time I played but it had rained a couple of days before and I thought that was the reason. The tee boxes are horrible; they look like they havent been cut in a week and are full of field grass/crab grass. The fairways are the same as the tee boxes. No restrooms on the back 9 and the restrooms on the front 9 have wasps all in them and around them. The ball washers have no water in them and the water in the coolers was not very cold. The only people there that seemed to know what was going on was the lady in the kitchen and a guy riding around trying to speed up play. To me its a course that hacks go to so they can get drunk, be stupid and nobody will kick them off. Its a $20 dollar course and $10 in the evening. NOT the $50 I paid for me and my wife. The biggest thing that NOBODY will tell you is that the gun range next door is extremely loud and distracting and ALL day!!
Only course left in Conroe I think. Very challenging
Great staff and a challenging course. We just had our company golf tournament last week there and I thought the course was in great shap
Great course for the money. Lots of fun
Great layout and the course is really nice. The staff seemed friendly and I will be back... They even donated to my charity
First time at this course, prices were way to high at $50 greens were really bad, maybe worth this price if a little more effort was spent on the course.
Fun course with variable difficulties makes for an interesting day and offers something for everyone.
Course is OK but the facilities need a serious overhaul
Super friendly staff. Course is ok.
I think course design is nice and staffs are kind. I hope to play again soon.
Old, needs some work
Love it!
Recovered well from the storm. They are working hard to get it back to the state before the storm.
Wonderful place to play and friendly staff
Wonderful Golf Course.
Ok
Neighborhood
Good place to play....
Nice
Good layout, course is in good shape
Everything you want in a day on the links, only complaint is a slow or not at all appearance by the concession cart!
Hidden golfing gem in Conroe!
