Such a neat experience for simply finding this place on Google Maps when searching for wineries on my way to Conneaut. Arnie and his dogs were extremely welcoming and Arnie is a true master at his craft hands down. Enjoyed our conversation and the wine!! Bought three bottles and will be up again soon! Quaint and unique location as well!

One of the best wines in Ohio.

Upon arriving to Markkos, I was greated by the sweetest guide dog Gunner who escorted me to the entrance of the tasting room. Once I crossed the threshold, I was transported to an authentic old world winery experience. I agreed to a wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised by a wine I generally dont care for and loving this creation. We took a bottle outside to the patio; we were joined by the owner and wine maker where we shared wine and stories. We were so happy to enjoy this beautiful day in a very personal and quaint setting. This is a place we will return as we felt so at home as we were welcomed as members of the Markko Vineyard family.

Arnie is a great host and a great winemaker. One of the best around! Nobody even comes close to him.Of you get a chance, take the time and go here. Its worth it. The wines blow away any other places around the area. Top notch.

Stopping at this simple yet charming winery was a real treat for our cross-country road trip. The wine is complex and delicious; well-crafted by Arnie, the talented winemaker. A kind old spirit. Arnie is the magic behind the strikingly German-styled labels on every bottle. With Chardonnays, Rieslings, and Cabs in abundance, there is certain to be a suitable wine for every favor of drinker. Why not try them all? Definitely going to be ordering wine from them for years to come.

This is a MUST visit Ohio Winery. Arnie is a friendly soul and willing to share his knowledge with a big smile. I felt like I was having wine with my long lost Grandfather. He has a warm heart. Amazing wines. Wonderful owner and staff. Visisting Markko is an experience in wine. Highly recommend a visit.

I have been to a winery or two...hundred.. This may be my new favorite. It is rustic, yet charming. The only thing I dont like is that its over an hour away. The wines are outstanding and Arnie is a very hospitable gentleman. I will return many times.

Arnie taught us about Late Harvest Chardonnay. Delicious dessert type wine. Sat on the deck, ate cheese and bread while we sipped. Enjoyable visit.

Always a highlight of our wine roadtrips. Hoping to get his new book, Magic in a Bottle, autographed by Arnie Esterer, along with cover of The Wine Buzz, May/ June 2019 magazine.

Have been coming here since the mid-90s the wine just keeps getting better... if you like wines being made the French style with lots of character and complexity this is the place in Ohio!

Once you visit Markkos, you will indeed have a different feeling about wine and its history. The Markko wines are fabulous, to say the least (the reason for so many awards), the company iswarm and charming, and the visitors are definite fans.Love the winery, if you are used to the fancy wineries, you are in for a surprise.
