A very interesting tour of a house thats more than 200 years old. It was really neat seeing original furniture pieces from the house, too. I really learned a lot about Concord here.

It is awesome to visit a place where well known people lived their lives in times that were pivotal to our nations history. The docents at the Old Manse make history come alive with details regarding the lives of the various people who lived there. It was a valuable visit that we will remember!

We went on the 30-minute Emerson and Hawthorne centered tour with Victor. It was great! Only $5 and we got to see where Emerson wrote Nature and where both authors careers set off! Victor was very patient with us while we took pictures and explored really more than we should have. He is very knowledgeable about the house and its residents! Loved it! Its inspiring to be there.

A really cool view of the bridge and some unique history with several authors. For sure worth a checkout. But dont bring young kids as they will want to play in the water off of the wobbly dock.

Fascinating house and museum. We took the highlights tour because we were pressed for time and this was just right, lasting about half an hour. You get to see the room where Emerson wrote the essay nature. I admire his writing and it was interesting to see some of the surrounding area that would have inspired him. Definitely worth a visit.

Particularly one of the Great American homes, this is where Ralph Waldo Emersons grandfather lived, on a bend in the river a really Divine landscape, where the road turned to cross the river just behind, about a half-mile or less out of the village, where the British troops marched looking for the arms the Colonials had amassed getting ready to revolt against the King. In no other landscape is there more meaning or reason for devotion for the American mind.

I recently attended a wedding here and have only been outside of the building but I loved it! Its set off a quiet road surrounded by nature. The building itself doesnt look large from the outside, but the grounds around it are expanse. There was enough space to set up a ceremony area, a tent for the reception, as well as a half dozen lawn games. The grounds appear to be tended to and the old brick fences are still standing. A beautiful rustic setting!

I always enjoy historical sites, but the curators here really know theyre taking about and can answer lots of questions. If youre a revolutionary war buff, you have to check it and the bridge nearby out where the shot heard round the world was fired. The grounds and house are also kept up well for how the house is. Make sure to ask about the texting left.

Beautiful spot, and I would rate 5 stars but there was one problem. There was a sculpture outside of the Old Manse that was supposed to reflect nature.... It was huge, bright yellow, and very modernistic. The inside of the house is beautiful, though.
