Had a great time experiencing what it felt like to fire both a Thompson machine gun and an early model gatling gun. Quite an unique experience. Bought my son a Cody Firearms Experience tee-shirt full of holes created by my firing of the gatling gun. Definitely worth your time to stop in and fire a round or two. The guys in there were great!
We had one day in Cody and my husband had always talked about the Tommy gun. We stopped in and the semi-auto wasnt available, but the fully automatic was. I originally wanted to try a smaller gun (1873 colt) due to my lack of experience. But my husband said he would try that, so I chose the Tommy gun. As Scott our instructor went over the precautions, I started to panic, what did I just get myself into? He reassured me it was gonna be fine, he said he would be right there, hand over my shoulder/hand and he was. That gun has so much power and it was the best experience I’ve ever had! I thank God he had patience and faith in me because it was the best part of our trip!!
The place was great, tons of guns to shoot from, but the employees were fantastic!! Aaron did a great job teaching my wife and I to shoot guns, was very patient and knowledgeable about the history of each firearm. Highly recommend, would go again

These guys are terrific. Went with a bunch of novices (myself included). They took the time to give us a short instruction on firearm usage. Cant say enough good about this place. Truly 5 Star!!
We had a GREAT time! Tim Berry was our safety officer/instructor and was top notch! Not only were we guided in firing the rifle and pistol we chose, we were given a brief history of the pieces as well! My boyfriend is very experienced and comfortable around firearms, and while I am not, we both had a great time! Tim, as well as the rest of the staff, made me feel comfortable and confident despite my being a beginner! Safety is their top priority and it is evident in the way they operate their business. We had a fantastic time and I think I’ll be coming back for their training classes!
Nick is just of another level. Nice person, humble and professional he got us information about each firearm. We were beginners and he helped us to choose the right gun for every of us. The place was clean and neat, and the shooting room was real, real safe. They made up everything to let us shot in the safest conditions. He also brought up, for each guns and rifle, a thorough description of it and its history.Last but not least his trainee (I forgot her name, excuse me!): she was very prepared and happy to show us got to shot.Once in Cody, you gotta go there!Thank you guys!
Great place to shoot. You can shoot a Gatling gun plus machine guns. I shot a Thompson 45 caliber sub machine gun! You can buy a tee shirt and then put some bullet holes in it.

What a blast! Although I’ve shot many firearms, including Class III (“machine guns”) before, I had never fired a Thompson submachine gun, or a Gatling gun. That’s right, a Gatling gun!Scott was my RSO, and did a great safety briefing, and a pre-shoot briefing on each weapon, without either talking over my head or talking down to me. My wife got to come on the range to take photos, as well. I got the “three machine gun” package and through in an M-16 (which I’ve shot before) to boot. My only regret is not buying an extra magazine for each firearm. What a hoot on wheels!

The friendly and knowledgeable staff here made this a wonderful experience for me and my son. I fired a Flintlock and a P90 and my son fired his first cowboy colt and lever action rifle.

While vacationing in Wyoming from Maryland my sons saw the advertisement and wanted to visit Cody Firearms. My oldest (18) had already picked out the guns he wanted to shoot. My youngest (14) has never shot more than BB guns or airsoft. Customer service was excellent at Cody Firearms!! The instructors went over safety and answered questions. We were allowed to watch & video the boys on the range. They told us history about each weapon. Reviewed safety & instruction again on the range & helped each son with their weapons. They were so patient with my youngest and assisted both in shooting properly. This was definitely the highlight of their Wyoming visit!! Highly recommend this experience and company!
Soooo much fun! Don’t leave Cody, Wyoming without stopping here. They have a giant selection of firearms to choose from and the instruction and handling is top notch. Some of these weapons are extremely valuable and you can shoot them. Even for people who have never shot a gun before like my wife and two teenage boys, the instructor gets you comfortable before a round is even fired. This is a great way to introduce someone to firearm safety and handling. Highly recommend in Cody!!

The experts at Cody Firearms did an excellent job of explaining the weapons I was interested in shooting and the background of them throughout history. And then firing them was a rush especially the Gatling gun! Great job guys!
The first time I review anything and it’s Cody Forearms Experience. Some of the best money I’ve ever spent! Staff is second to none, and they have a wide variety of firearms. I shot a variety of old school and new school including a civil war musket, Gatling gun, and P90. Doesn’t get any better than that!

When I walked in to the place I saw a huge selection of guns and chose to shoot a tommy gun, colt navy, and a Winchester rifle. My instructor was amazing and knew a lot about the guns. The range itself was great and made the experience amazing. You also get to choose your target and so I put holes into bin laden.

My wife and I did Yellowstone for our honeymoon and saw this place on the way back East. I was skeptical of the 5-star reviews, but we love a bit of history and the chance to shoot old guns was too good to pass up. It was $120 for us to shoot two guns each, but I would have paid $200+. This place was AWESOME. We got to shoot a flintlock replica from the war of 1812, a percussion musket from the civil war, a lever action Winchester, and an M1 that touched soldier hands in WWII. Our instructor was soooooo patient with the flintlock so I could get my five shots in, was super safety focused, and taught us more about the guns and their history than I imagined. Fantastic place!
Cody Firearms Experience is top notch. We have been to other similar places but this has got to be the best! Great experienced staff who made me feel comfortable, and I actually shot a few firearms I was very nervous about. Good Job guys! If you are going to experience the Wild West, this is a MUST! You can shoot with several types of weapons, time rifle trappers, and Indians go to the weapons of the first and second wars and going through the experiences. They explain the history of weapons and everything is done with professionals. It was a great experience. A lot of guns and super friendly staff. I fired Winchester 1866, peacemaker, shotgun, fn .308 sniper rifle and p90. Amazing place to spend the money!!!
I work in Cody in the summer and this is the place I spend my days off. The staff is top shelf with knowledge and the utmost safety. Variety of weapons are incredible and I have shot many already and will shoot more this summer. I also shoot my own personal firearm as well. This is an experience you wont forget during your stay or travels through Cody.
I loved this though my wife thought it was a waste of money! Fired a Colt Army 45 and a Winchester 73. Good safety briefing. Helpful, friendly range safely officer.
I was a bit skeptical about this, but Steve was awesome, we felt safe the whole time, and there was all the history. M1 Garand was top fave, but Winchester is definitely,. or maybe the Colt. Or the Walker. I dunno...The 1911? I’ll have to swing by again to figure it out.
We came in from California this week and stopped in to see this new place. Absolutely excellent!! The people were very friendly and generous with their time. They made the visit entirely enjoyable and their new equipment is the best I have seen anywhere. I only wish we had more time here to take some of their intermediate classes.

This is perhaps the best money I have ever spent. Do this, do this now. Shooting a Gatling gun is something everyone should do at least once in their life.
Our 10 year old wanted to try shooting a gun so we stopped. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful. There were several different types of guns for her to choose from; once she selected he walked her through gun safety. Then out on the range he showed how to hold and shoot. After a couple of pointers she had a good grouping (with a bullseye or two).
My mom and her husband Jon and Judy probably couldn’t even hit the target if it was staring them straighten the eye lol

Awesome staff, beautiful indoor range, and they have a Gatling gun you can shoot! They also have a nice assortment of other (mostly antique replicas) weapons you can rent and shoot.

This place is the best. Very informative, helpful. Took grandson, who shot a gatlin gun. He is still floating on cloud 9. Derrick and Scott were great when it came to instructions and showing how to shoot properly. I even hit the bullseye twice. For a great family experience, I highly recommend cody firearms.
