We attended a music performance by Charlie Worsham and Brothers Osborne. What a great place to enjoy some rocking good music!Im not sure the capacity of the venue, but being is much smaller than the large arenas in the area. This makes the experience much more intimate, and several bars located around the perimeter make staying hydrated more convenient as well.I look forward to seeing more great shows at the 7!
Awesome place to see a show! Never been here but definitely worth the visit! Highly Suspect killed it Son. Nice open venue with tons of room. Regular beers were 6 each, Yes Really. You can come in and out as you please to smoke out front.
Bill Engvall was great!! But - the venue, not so much. Had to pay for parking. Really?? In your own parking lot?? The seating wasnt in rows, like the website showed, but at tables. The staff didnt even know where our seats were! Unfortunately, I could hear people at the side or back of the house talking during the show. I realize there are many factors that go into the determining the ticket prices. By the time we paid for our tickets, the fees & parking charge - we paid nearly $150 for 2 of us to see the show. Bill was definitely worth it, but 7 Flags/Horizon Event Center, no so much...
Really outstanding property that is currently going through renovation to become even better than it was in the early 90s. Many events and concerts are still being hosted by the 250,000+square foot property. I know the guy doing the renovations and seeing that the new owners budget is what it is, the place will be amazing when completed.
Great show. Great sound.Decent venue. The air conditioning couldnt quite keep up.
No seating, Bad drink selection. Wont go back
Its always miserably hot in this venue. Poor floor plan and building design.
Impressed I got to see I.C.P there. Also hosted a motorcycle swap event i helped at. Pretty versatile place. The only downfall was at the concert - extremely small barricaded area outside for smokers (literally squished like sardines) & due to sound ordinance, only allowed to go out & smoke when no one was playing. It was 6pm on a sunday.
Not enough parking for handicap. The services not too much. Not clean. Not secure. Close bathroom. Too much holes in the parking.
Ive been coming here for years to see my favorite bands live and although a smaller venue and has been tight at times its large enough for all bands except the very large headliners. Easy parking, entry and service
Love seeing concerts here! They usually get some awesome acts! One of my favorites to see was Seether
Not impressed. Outdoor concert was moved indoor, due to weather. This was set up days in advance, so not a surprise. We didnt know until we arrived there was no seating inside. My husband has a bad disc in his back, so he could not stand on concrete the whole concert. We had to leave early.
Ok place to Watch bands play except for you better not be a smoker cuz they give you literally a 5-foot by 5-foot section for everybody to smoke at and only let certain amount of people at a time
I went to see the Lil Uzi concert on a Saturday night the tickets were $30 for general admission. Lil Uzi didnt end up showing because of his flight so they rescheduled it for a Thursday. The staff there werent handling the stress very well and ended up yelling at people when it really wasnt necessary. The building wasnt in the best shape either it just kind of seemed like a warehouse. I do have to say that I did receive a full refund since I didnt go to the rescheduled concert so I give them credit for that but the situation still wasnt handled the best.
Ive been here for multiple concerts and Ive attended the Iowa Golden Gloves tournament here many times. The acoustics for live music are not bad. For concerts there is rarely any seating so be prepared for that. The parking can be a little limited so arrive early. Nice large bathrooms so there isnt much of a wait during events.
Very nice yet small venue. Maybe 1200 capacity? Very good sound, large stage, nice staff there the night I caught a concert
First off Google Maps has the location wrong. When you put in the address it brings you to a small strip Mall that is actually on the other side of the concert venue. The concert venue itself has ample parking. The bathrooms were clean. But it is a no frills huge Barn basically. We went to Theory of a Deadman the other night. It was all standing only I dont know if they have chairs or seating I would assume they do when needed. It is a decent location overall
Pretty decent venue for a general admission concert. Plenty of room inside for a large amount of people. Order two rounds of mixed drinks, first were very strong to the point of barely able to taste the mixer. Second round was very weak so it could be hit or miss depending on the bartender. The bar was well staffed and had no wait for ordering my drinks, both before the concert started and during the middle.Only downside was the parking. We arrived about 30 minutes before the doors opened and ended up having to park at the far edges of the parking lot. Away from the lighting which meant we had to walk to our car in the dark after the concert.
For starters the venue charges for parking, the indoor venders are cash only. Bring cash unless otherwise specified. There is an ATM inside but they charge to use the ATM to pull cash at the kiosk. The venue is older, smaller and in a random location behind a gas station and burger king. Slightly hard to find for a first time goer. The venue itself put on a good show, intimate setting to see a good group. Security did wand search and hung around for the whole show. Bathrooms are inside near concessions as well as port a potty outside by the outdoor smoking area.
Very nice I am very impressed
Rudest venue I’ve ever been to. Guy on stage tried to give his guitar pick to the audience member in front of me, it fell on the floor and security said he wasn’t allowed to pick it up until after the show. A minute later he picked it up and pocketed it. After the show they kept screaming at people in the merch line that they were going to lock the doors on them. Definitely not coming back.
Huge place with awesome concerts. Been here about 4 times and it always impresses me. One minor flaw is that the security measures change every time. one day they are doing full pat downs and the other you walk right through. All were national and international concert tours. Quite odd.
I have seen multiple shows here and the staff and servers are always kind. The sound quality is ok, not the best for louder concerts but I bet more relaxed settings are ideal. The concessions are fairly pricey.
The hot tub and spa show really sucked. High pressure salesman didnt know when tight shut up
Great venue for live music!
The center is fairly small. I read in other reviews that there was a bathroom however I could only find portable stalls outside in the smoking area (which was also very small). The security was good, making sure there were no fights or girls on guys shoulders. The venue itself is just a big open space pretty much with bars on one side and the stage on the other. The lines for drinks were all over the place because they were so close to the entrance. Plus, almost all of the bars are cash only which I was not thrilled about. I never bring cash to concerts so trying to find the line to the bar where they accepted cards was impossible and I just gave up. The show overall was descent but I wont go to a show at this venue again.
Gorgeous venue! New management, and new remodel!
Great small venue to see your favorite bands playing live. The parking and traffic in and out has never been a problem. The staff is real laid back which is always a plus.
Decent acoustics. Nice size stage. Clean bathrooms. Friendly bartenders. Parking is sufficent. Not a lot to do in the immediate surrounding area, but thats why they have good parking.
Sound isnt the best. Stage needs to sit up a little higher. Cant see from the back. Slow entry standing outside in the cold. Decent beer prices and availability. Probably wont be back for a concert.
I have been playing indoor tennis at 7 Flags since October 2012. I have been very pleased with the tennis facilities, and the instructor, Bunny Bruning, is fantastic. Since I began going to 7 Flags, the club has been under new management and many positive changes have taken place. The overall appearance of the gym is very dated, but I look forward to more improvements that have been promised to come. I have noticed a huge improvement in the cleanliness of the facility....you will always see people cleaning and tidying up in all areas. And the friendliness of the staff has improved as well.
We motocycle swap here second weekend in February. Staff helpful
Theory Of Dead Man, In This Moment. Halestrom, Fiver Figer Deathpunch, Seether, Holy White Hounds,DayTo Remember.!!! Various Local;and Opening Acts.Awesome Venue.
As recently mentioned by Joseph, last nights Circa Survive and Brand New show was an absolute disaster. I drove over five hours to see a show that I wasnt allowed access to until it was half over. I was one of the lucky ones by getting in as early as I did. The lines outside for will-call tickets lasted for over three hours from when doors opened at seven. Show started at eight. They had a booth inside to check IDs and get bracelets for the bar with three people running it and they had someone at the door before both the 21+ booth and the will-call table checking IDs and also giving out bracelets. I cant fathom why this was a priority when they had hundreds of people outside waiting to get in. Will-call table was only run by two people despite the obvious need for all hands on deck in that area. There were four or so security guards sitting at the front door doing nothing to speed up the process. One guy drove a four-wheeler around yelling at people to stay in an orderly line which looked pretty fun. I could have cared less about getting the opportunity to buy one of their drinks when all I wanted to do was see the show I paid for. Ive probably seen around one hundred concerts varying in attendance from 10 to 50,000. This has been the absolute worst experience with a venue I have ever had.
I have enjoyed using my membership to 7 Flags. There is a wide variety of equipment which is always available. The locker rooms, showers, and pool are clean and fresh. The staff is friendly and helpful and the price is very affordable. I highly recommend 7 Flags.
Awful sound. Outrageous pricing for drinks. Lackluster staff. Overall bad experience.
Went to my first concert here last night. A great place to go. Good service
Went to Kip Moore concert. Sound was GREAT! Do get tired of standing whole concert, but it was good event
Tonight, I drove 600+ miles from North Dakota to see a band I havent seen in a decade. We arrived at the venue around 6pm to try and pick up our will call tickets, we were told that we had to wait until the doors opened at 7. We came back at 7, with the line blocks long. The first band started at 8pm. It took us until well after 9pm to get inside, and two of the three bands had already finished playing. No apology from the venue. No offer for a partial refund or even a free drink ticket. No mention of the fact that hundreds of people missed seeing bands they paid good money to see. No mention of the fact that I missed 2/3 of a concert I drove all day for. Nothing. This is the most unacceptable performance from a venue I have ever seen. Saying we had a lot of people with will call tickets is not a justifiable excuse. The show has been sold out for months, they knew the numbers to expect. They should have been prepared. This venue has some serious PR work to do after tonight.
Concert was great Tech N9NE was awesome. Fn 10.00 to park fd up. Security are everywhere swear they treated us like all criminals. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I HAD SECURITY SO FAR UP PEOPLES ASSES. IM 57 give me a break. SECURITY NEEDS TO BACK THE F OFF NOBODY WAS DOING ANYTHING . Crowd security that were a holes and there wasnt even a crowd. DONT PLAN ON ENJOYING A CONCERT THERE WITH SECURITY NO FUN ALOUD
Nice complex but not sure if its concert material, sounds were definitely distorted. Drink prices werent bad... There is a outdoor smoking area!
Small, but a great concert venue. No seating here.
Lets everyone takes break and go smoke
New Owners are making this gym ROCK!! It is so nice to have the passion for excellence back at the club. The heart and sweat being put into making 7 Flags the elite club is paying off. I hope more people come back and experience the change. The positive changes in tennis, fitness, and front desk will bring the club back!!
We seen Marilyn Manson in concert was a hell of a rock show Seven Flags Event Center was nice for being such a small place.
Sure wasnt expecting standing room only, kevin Gates concert was lit
The place seems poorly manged. When we walked up the staff just put out their hands. We didnt know if they wanted to see tickets, IDs, or something else. The bartender refused to serve one of my friends because he didnt have a 21+ wrist band. The booth to get wrist bands was not staffed so we had to walk around to find someone who could check our IDs and give us wrist bands. The place was also really dirty by the end of the night. People had dropped hundreds of beer cans and cups on the floor. Maybe they should add some trash cans and recycling around the venue so its not such a mine field?
The venue itself is decent but they charge $10 for parking now, forced the people there early to park all the way in the back and walk in the rain, then had to have us all move our cars anyway because it was starting to flood. Decent venue, crappy management.
The overall building was good for a concert. However, parking was expensive. Also they parked everyone back near a creek that started flooding, which then caused that section of the lot to flood. So everyone had to go back out in the pouring rain to move our cars which was very inconvenient.
I felt obligated to share my experience after I read these reviews before heading to the show. I showed up at 7, an hour before the show was set to start and they started letting people in. They moved everyone along at a brisk pace and I was in within minutes. I walked around waiting for the show to start and to my surprise it started at 8 on the dot and it was an amazing show. The whole venue was misted so the lights would show better and I had a wonderful time. I had an awful experience with a venue several weeks before and this blew that out of the water. Whatever poor reviews said before, they must have heard and fixed the problems.
It is now called HORIZON EVENT CENTER
Great venue with great acts. Never had any issues.
$10 parking for a concert event was surprising and necessary. But setup, sound and Beverage availability was good
It was farely nice. Not the classiest place but quite the setting for a rock show
So many great artists come through
Great place for a concert!!! Only thing I didnt like was the cash only bars, bring lots of $$ I guess...
Saw shine down play nice venue
I have never felt inclined to write a Google review before until now but I feel as if my two cents needs to be said. I attended the Brand New and Circa Survive concert at Seven Flags on April 25th, 2015. I paid for my tickets months in advance and chose to pick them up at will call. This was a huge mistake. I arrived at the show about 40 minutes before it started (20 minutes after doors opened) and proceeded to wait in line, along with several hundred other people, for a little over an hour to receive my tickets. Because of this, I missed the opening act. Disregarding the poor management and unacceptable long line, the concert venue itself is quite abysmal. It is hardly a concert venue at all, but rather a glorified gymnasium with mediocre acoustics. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Seven Flags Event Center in the future for any event. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the worst venue I have ever been to in my life.
A pretty cool place, one prom I had was held here. Fairly spacious and modern.
Nothing special. It is a large place but not much character. Little to no Verizon service inside. And DAMN $6 for a 12 ounce can of beer? Yikes.
Beware of their shady cancellation process. I cancelled and thought everything was good but found out that they continued to try and charge me for an entire year! I received a letter from a law firm stating I owed 7 flags a whole year s premium. I was a loyal customer who always paid in advance and this is how they treat their customers! They verified that I never scanned in for a whole year but they couldnt use common sense to figure out that they shouldnt have charged me. When I brought the collection letter to their staff the employee informed me that I was the 10th person who came in that day to complain about the same issue. The owner is rude, shady, and cheats people from their hard earned money. Based on the other reviews it seems like this has been going on for a while now. I will continue to bad mouth this horrible gym. Please do not consider this gym cause you ll regret it.
Clean safe
Like seeing a concert in a big garage... But they usually attract good acts
Security is horrible. Watched a guy get beat up and it took them 20 minutes to figure it out. They had 3 opening acts before Stone Sour and served alcohol the entire show so all the idiots could get good and loaded for 3.5 hours before the main act and want to fight everyone. I had to pull my 17 year old son out of the show only 3 songs into Stone Sour because some 30 year old douchebag tried to shove him around. Ill never see a show there again.
The sound was good, the parking was awful, porta potties in January not so fun, and the alcohol was small and expensive. And the crowd this place attracts was horrible! People were rude, too physical and just plain mean. I have never been to a concert where the crowd was so rude! i will never attend another concert here again!
Great place to hold an event, with so many considerations and options. Clean bathrooms
Food quality tastes mass produced and you cant have as much as you want.
I Love a lot of the bands that come here! I have difficulty standing for long periods of time though...need chairs!
Love him still...
If i could give this venue less than 1 star, i absolutely would. After driving 4 hours to see my favorite band play we arrived at the venue at 7:30, a half hour past doors opening, to see a line extended a block and barely moving. We spent over 2 hours waiting in line, missing both opening bands. When we finally got to the doors the line was being controlled by 2 women who were clearly overwhelmed, with a stack of papers. The band was great, however once people started to exit there was a serious safety issue, not only with no crowd control and frustrated people who just wanted to get out... But also with rugs that were bunched up in front of the door.Such a disappointing experience. Avoid this place at all costs. Bands: do not book your show here... They were completely disrespectful and your will miss the majority of the show without even an apology!
Great for concerts but sound does sound a little odd with the building the way it is.
Acoustics could have been better but great size and easy to find as well as get into and out.
Not enough alcohol vendors meant standing in long lines. Sound quality was really mediocre and there was absolutely no cell service on Verizon, AT&T or US Cellular which is extremely unusual.
Went here for the home show. Very clean and nice.
Nice concert venue, decent bathrooms, bubbler was convenient, if it wasnt so far away Id happily go herw again.
Its a pole barn with not enough facilities. .. trying to exit the building took 45 mins, glad there wasnt a fire. Never going back
Good place to go for shows. Draws some of the best bands.
Overall a great event venue. Fyi there is a $10 parking charge for most events
Love all the show they schedule...very big names and great performer!
This place is far from flashy, but its not terrible. Very, very basic wide open event center that gets done bands and acts that Id have no other way of being able to see around here without this type of place.
Parking is a disaster and the venues acoustics leave much to be desired. Bathrooms appear to have been last cleaned during the ice age
No seating in the venue, only one restroom, not a very good concert venue.
If I could do 0 stars I would. I drove four hours to see a show on April 25th. We got there at 7 when doors were open, and didnt get in until after 10:00pm, after two of the three bands had already played. The security guard in line lied about how long the show was going to go. I called to see what was going on and the lady was SO rude to me on the phone. Since then Ive called and emailed for a refund and everyone I have talked to has been full of excuses and extremely rude. IF YOU EVER THINK ABOUT GOING HERE DO NOT EVEN BOTHER.
I was here for the migos concert had no problem with the center. More of the djs that where there for the concerts.
A noise ordinance keeps concert goers from experiencing the full concert experience, otherwise a good venue
Great venue, good acoustics. Needs more parking.
I believe a 1 star rating is generous for this place. I arrived at Seven Flags Event Center at 7:30 and had to wait in line outside for a little over an hour to pick up my tickets at will call. I missed the first opening act and Im sure many people missed both opening acts since there were still hundreds of people in line when I finally got in. Upon getting to the door it seemed the hold up was that there was ONE security guard checking IDs and giving wristbands to people and two women searching through stacks of paper to find tickets. Since there was not a print at home option for these tickets I understand that more people were using will call than usual. However, Seven Flags was well aware of how many people would be picking up tickets at will call but still did nothing to remedy the situation. I have been to many concerts and have never witnessed such an unprofessional atmosphere. It seemed like there were no actual employees and they had simply found ten random people to work a sold out concert. I am shocked that they are able to call this place a venue. I will never return to Seven Flags Event Center and I strongly urge no one else to, no matter how much you like the artist playing.
While some of the recent small changes have been nice like cleanliness. The overall atmosphere and feeling at the club is negative and unreasonable. It feels like the club does not care about the tennis program and some big changes are on the horizon that are not positive.
Great place
Not the greatest venue to see a show at, but not the worse either.
Expensive and the ATM charges a $3.99 fee. Take cash and expect long lines to get drinks. Other then that the place isnt too bad. 3 stars for feeling like my wallet was raped.
7 Flags seems to have learned from the debacle 9 months ago. I was there for the Kip Moore concert tonight and showed up a few minutes after the doors opened to find the line around the corner but quickly processed inside. There were beer fairies to provide bracelets to people at the back of the very long ID line, separate from the ticket line.HOWEVER, and thats a big however, the bouncers/event staff didnt care at all about underage drinking or (most importantly) altercations occurring in the crowd. I tried multiple times to lead someone to where the fight was happening, but he never followed. I told him details but he misremembered them. Also, there is only one non-smoking bathroom (the rest were port-a-potties in the smoking area), and in order to leave the venue one must pass the large outdoor smoking area. This did not mesh well with my allergy to cigarette smoke. All in all, I will not be revisiting this venue unless it is one of my favorite artists, in which case I will pregame heavily to stomach the filth and violence that are tolerated by 7 Flags.
