Great experience for everyone in your family! Not only will you learn something, but the nature is absolutely beautiful and the waterfall is so quiet and relaxing! Not to mention super easy to get to! Only a quick two minute walk on paved concrete. The visitors center was very clean, welcoming and informational. There’s a 6 minute LED display of how the battle occurred. The gentleman working the desk was also very knowledgeable and kind.My husband and I packed a cooler and lawn chairs, found a tree near the visitor center and set up for a picnic. We would recommend this to future visitors as well! There are some rocking chairs on the visitor center porch and some picnic tables at a near by shelter in the shade but we preferred space with a breeze. We also drove over to the Horseshoe Falls trail and it was BEAUTIFUL! The waterfall was very pretty and worth a swim!Side note: The horseshoe falls trail is super easy and quick. (I accidentally forgot my tennis shoes and walked it in flip flops with no problem). Took us about 25 minutes round trip, but we also stopped to read all the placards. If you are walking the trail for the nature hike or if you’re following the story placards then we suggest going RIGHT where the trail loop meets, but if you’re only wanting to get to the battlefield we suggest going left. It’s a quicker alternative than the loop.

Learned a ton on this quick stop. Who knew there were a group of Americans loyal to England during the American Revolution? The workers there were knowledgeable and friendly. Though we all were wearing out masks due to COVID19 the exchanges were enjoyable. The trail with the waterfall was awesome too. Great place to stop and enjoy the deep history of SC in the war.

The Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site, located in Enoree, South Carolina, was a visually and historically pleasant visit. They have a beautiful visitors center, clean restrooms, knowledgeable staff, and AIR CONDITIONER. Lol. The first trail was approximately 1.1 miles in length and circles around the old Musgrove Mill area. The second trail sported a short travel down a wheelchair accessible paved walk to the waterfall. It is a small fall, but very picturesque waterfall. The trail continues to complete a 1.5 mile hike through the battlefield area. Well worth the trip over to visit. Stopped by the nearby Old Rock Quarry Winery afterwards to complete a wonder afternoon.

A part of the SC State Park system and their Ultimate Outsider program (goal is to visit all 47 SC State Park ran parks/sites). The site and the surrounding rolling hills are home to the site of a small battle with a large significance in the Revolutionary War. A must visit for anyone interested in the Revolutionary War (and those doing the Ultimate Outsider program)

We did the 1 mile round trip trail along the river with our kids. The trail is almost completely shaded by trees and is not difficult. We ate lunch at the pond at the end of the trail while our kids fished. We also stopped at Horseshoe Falls and the kids played in the water. There is a drop box at the parking lot to pay and get your parking pass.

Its hard to fully rate this site because I was only able to walk one of the trails. The British Camp trail had just reopened, but the Park Manager recommended against walking it because of deep mud from where it had been underwater (she had just been able to reopen it). The Battlefield trail was in good condition, and a walk through it gives you an understanding of how hard it was to use conventional tactics of the Revolutionary War era in the Carolinas and why the guerrilla tactics of the militia worked well.

This is a very nice state park. As a battlefield park it is absolutely beautiful and the area well preserved and intact. The walking trail presents a lot of picture opportunities. The trail has several signs that are very informative along its path. It was a very impressive place to visit and interesting considering it is from the American Revolution.

This is a wonderful state park. There is a nice level hike along the river. Not too many hills. It is great for animals or children. There are a lot of history markers and a visitors center to help you understand about this site. Make sure follow the signs and drive to horseshoe falls. It is everything you remember about spending a day at the river! Kids and adults will love swimming in this shallow river around the falls.

Out of the dozens of historical sites Ive visited over the years... this takes the cake for being the most boring Very nice rangers and a pleasant little museum/gift shoppe but none of the grass was cut so we perpetually walked through hip high fields, there were a couple signs with info here and there but over all nothing interesting or significant. The falls were nice but several locals there with loose dogs. Overall looked and felt more like a place for neighborhood visits than for tourists!

Great little stop to enjoy learning about the revolutionary war. The battle of Musgeove Mill is one where you can truly see the hand of God. To have so many of the British red coats die and only 4 of the royalist is miraculous. The gift shop was fun. The kids could dress up in colonial clothes and act out the battle with muskets and swords.
