I liked it! VERY NOISY school kids. Teacher/adult baby sitter/whatever not doing her appointed task; too much time on her cell phone!
Me and my buddy went to Cleveland for a metal concert and went to the museum before the concert. The lady at the front desk was super nice and really liked to smile! The lady in one of the two old mansions that the museum just kinda has stitched onto it was very entertaining and told the history of the mansions in a fun way! The museum also has an old carousel (109 years old) and the two guys running it were incredibly informative and you could tell how passionate they were about the Carousel. It was really nice to see someone that interested in carousels talk about them! They saw us come back for our 2ed ride (you get 2 rides for entry into the museum) and got really excited to tell us the interesting history of it, and show us what the engine room looked like! I loved it! The car exhibit that the museum is hosting has a ton of very rare cars in it. Not gonna lie, was a bit surprised to just walk up and see a real Chevy EV1, one of 17 Ferrari California Peniferinas (I cant spell that), and a Mercedes 300sl. All the really old cars were awesome as well. They had one from 1897!All in all, great museum! We only had about 3 hours, and I feel like there is a bunch of stuff that we missed. Will go again next time Im in Cleveland!
Went here on my first date. Admission was $10 and the exhibits were interesting. We had a great time. There is an interactive play room for children too.
Lots of cars and some airplanes. Definitely worth the visit.
TLDR: The museum completely ignores the minority story of Cleveland.A trip to the Cleveland History Center is a.. complicated experience. Perhaps a more apt name would be the Rich White Cleveland History Center. To be sure, the strength of the collection means that a significant portion of the museum is either cars from the auto collection or a very well preserved mansion, which limits what can be done in the exhibition space.Buuuuut in exploring we found many large, vastly empty spaces. One, a ballroom, is half-filled with a less-than-enthralling exhibit about Ohio politicians. Another, a NEO hall of fame of sorts, looks to be a time portal from the 70s.Heres the problem: Cleveland has a diverse, complicated, and often gritty history. None of the various ethnic groups (and the lush Cultural Gardens just down the street tell us there are many) are discussed, most critically Clevelands black population is essentially reduced to the mansions servants quarters. The museum needs to undergo a full retelling of the history of Cleveland, one that tells how different people came here, and one that at least scratches the surface on some of the challenges facing the community today and how we got there. But the carousel was fun.
Pretty good collection of old cars, which I wasnt expecting. The historical exhibits were nicely designed. The air races collection was another interesting surprise. Biggest complaint was that it was $20 between admission and parking to get i .
This museum has come a long way! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed wandering through all the exhibits. I learned a you knew facts about Cleveland, the carousel was a trip down memory lane and the rest of the exhibits were engaging. The staff was wonderful and so knowledgeable well worth the trip.
Liked the place but cars and coffee show was disappointing charged us twenty for our car. Wont go back but museum was cool
Was so cool loved every bit of it. As a car guy you must go!
Lots of neat information on the town o live in and definite must see.
Great place to take the family and walk through Clevelands history.
If you didnt find one area of this museum to enjoy, you didnt spend enough time there. I like the mansionS best.
Wow! Its been a couple years since we have been here! They are under construction and making changes and the changes are good! The best new additions: Kidzibits and the Euclid Beach Carousel. Those things make it a museum for all ages. There is something for everyone. Well worth the admission price and the trip. Cant wait until its finished! I hope theyre adding a cafe.
The research library was amazing. The antique autos were in excellent shape and out right beautiful.
Lots of fun for all ages
So much more than I expected
Awesome museum a diamond in the ruff must check it out!
Was really surprised by how much to see here.
Very interesting museum. Loved the P-51K Mustang, the carousel. Something for everyone. Very friendly staff! An under-the-radar gem for Cleveland.
This place is friendly and fun! There are a lot of neat exhibits that will fit anyones interests and the staff is very helpful. I got to entertain my husband with the cars, my friends with the costume collection and the carousel, and the gift shop was amazing!
Has a nice collection of historical fashion, cars, and air racing planes and memorabilia. My favorite are the original Torso Murder postcards sent to Elliot Ness.
Kinda expected more for as big as it is. Glad I went for free on museum day. It would be a little disappointing to pay $10 to get in.
