Very nicely rebuild of an old home. Built in the late 1700s it has been moved to this location in order to save it from flooding to build a man made Lake. Im not sure what motivation there was to save this old house but its nice nevertheless. Its not very old in the grand scheme of things over the world, but worth visiting if you are in the botanical garden anyway. 5 stars for the effort of saving this old house!

An important example of early 18th century Huguenot history and architecture from the Carolina Lowcountry now preserved and accessible at Clemson University in the Upcountry. All those with St.Julien and Ravenel family connections (most of SC) should see this rare gem reflecting 4 centuries of human events that continue to shape SCs future.

This structure was moved upstate to preserve an early example of balloon framing, still using mortise and tenon joints.
