Loved the dinosaur experience! Such an amazing display of everything! We got a kick out of seeing the little kids looking at the dinosaur bones. Fun place well worth it for sure!
We took a group of four children (three 3-year-olds and a 5-year-old). They absolutely loved this museum! They especially loved the tree house, building blocks, miniature grocery store (sponsored by Kroger), and ball room (a room filled with plastic balls). The ball room allowed me to discuss gravity and bouncing. The kids were able to experiment with the different ball transfer and return mechanisms. We had so much fun! The tree house gave them a chance to run, climb, and slide. Its basically an enormous multi-level climbing structure with bridges, ladders, and slides. Theyre still asking when we can go back to the tree house. There were many opportunities to discuss different STEM subjects throughout the museum, and that is why Im rating this as high as possible. The Duke Energy Childrens Museum is a fantastic family bonding experience that also provides great learning and teaching opportunities! We are now museum members and expect to go back often.
I love the Childrens Museum Center. My eldest son loves their water play area (tip: bring extra clothes), the construction area and the ball area the best. My only complaint is that they need to have a changing table in both bathrooms on the Lower Level. It would also be nice if they had more than one changing table in the female bathroom. There is always a line when I go to change one of my sons.
Great time here with my sons the place is great but the woods area was just re floored with very nice rubber but it had a chemical smell that made us not want to play for very long. I would recommend going and spending a day here
From pre walking toddler to cane walking senior something for everyone. Duke Childers museum offers science fun with water table, ball cage,... Little sprouts art on Monday and Thursday is a favorite... Run out energy in the woods... See animals in the trading Post.. build in the construction area. A pint sized Kroger, dentist, vet, kitchen, living room, soda shop... Kids imaginary play will explode ..
This place was really fun. Me and my family had a great time there looking at the exhibits. Stain stuff from Egypt that was thousands of years old and also found out that I am knee high to an Apatosaurus
My children and I really enjoyed ourselves. We loved that they could touch things and interact with different displays. This was a great experience. Will be back.
Perfect museum for the whole family. They have great rotating exhibits, and my son loves the children’s museum. The kids areas haven’t change since I was younger, so it’s more fun to take my son there to run and get his energy out. I would like to eventually see some new things. The cafe is a bit pricey, especially for members. Parking and access can be difficult during busy times.Overall this is a great alternative to other attractions like Kings Island in the area.
The Childrens Musuem at the Union Terminal is wonderful . The Union Terminal is my favorite piece of Architecture in Cincinnati. They have activities for different ages. My 16 month old grand daughter played until she tired herself out. They also had a petting time. This time it was a snake. Its very safe. I would recommend the museum.
It was nice, miss the ice age exhibit from before. We still enjoyed it. Thankful my children like museum. After the revocation on areas, its now more like COSI.
They are continuing to update this museum. Fun fact is it was the Hall of Justice in regard to the Justice League. The addition of the children area is the best. I have year passes and my daughter loves this place. Good fun for the family.
The Childrens Museum has been a longtime favorite on our family. It is a massive area with many play areas for all ages. There is a toddler-appropriate play area gated off from the rest of the museum with lots off things to climb on and do. The rest of the museum features a water table play area with plastic smocks to keep clothes dry. There is a huge play area designed as caves and treehouses. Theres a nature area with animal bones and live animals that occasionally are brought out for petting and education. The favorite is an area that uses hundreds of plastic balls that are typically found in a ball pit, but in different machines that shoot them around, collects them and carries them around on conveyor belts. Theres also a dozen or so dramatic play areas like a Kroger store or Metro bus. A classroom like area lets them draw and color. There is a huge Lego building area and a mine area where you can scoop up foam rocks with a bucket loader. The childrens museum has large kid-friendly restrooms. A concession stand and seating area is located just outside of the entrance downstairs. Your kids can spend hours running around the place. Using the childrens museum regularly makes a Museum Center annual pass worth it on its own!
Fun fun. Newly renovated. Still some displays are not open. Food court is bigger than I remember. Grandkids had a blast
Our most recent visit showed us scientists painstakingly removing a triceratops skull from very elaborate packing material. Did some crafts. Saw the massive Cincinnati model, explored a cave, built a bridge. Had a lot of fun with a 34, 11, 9, and 5 year old.
The childrens museum and a few more parts inside the museum are closed. It was disappointing and the visit was very short. Any way it is very clean and feel COVID safe.
The childrens museum is bigger than Chicago and more fun!!! No doubt...
The renovations are beautiful especially like the history of Cincinnati Mueseum very detailed when I go back I want to visit the houlacost museum and I max rode the Chessie line to Staunton Va. When I was a young boy.
The newly remodeled Museum center feels modern and old at the same time. There are still a lot of exhibits closed due to the remodel, but overall this is a hoping place even in the middle of the week.
Such a cool experience. They went over and above my expectations. Could spend all day there.
Very cool! So much to learn and do and kept the kids very interested
My daughter enjoyed herself which was all that mattered. However, the abundance of older children running around unsupervised was a nuisance. It made for quite a hazard as they bumped into, ran over, splashed water on & knocked down my 4yr old daughter and her cousins with their horseplaying. I understand its a childrens museum. I want for all children to be able to attend and feel safe. However, there really needs to be more staff on hand policing the children before a child gets seriously hurt. It also wasnt very clean in there. There was a cringe worthy amount of dirt on just everything the kids were touching.I just made sure to scrub my daughter thoroughly after our visit.
We keep coming again again for few years now and my kids always having good time. The changing exhibits are cool as well as the natural history museum part (great upgrade). In addition, the annual pass per family definitely worth it.
My son absolutely loves this museum. Theres so many different things to do and its always kept in good shape. They even have opportunities to earn points and get cool little prizes like special rocks and fossils. On our last visit we brought in a few items that he had collected and completed a scavenger hunt to get extra points.
I thought the museum was closed for remodeling until my daughter asked me to join them with their family pass last Sunday. I was thrilled to be able to hang out with my grandson. He spent the entire time running from activity to activity. Among his favorite things to do was the net enclosed ball zone with an air tube for floating then moving a ball around. He also liked the dentist chair with buttons to activate some of the tools & the giant teeth you can brush. In Kids Town he climbed in the front seat to drive a TANK bus, pushed buttons to change the stop light from yellow to red & green, did grocery shopping, made food at the diner and so much more. His favorite activity was the chance to pick up, collect and move rocks around. With so much to do you have to come see it for yourself. Your 12 and under child will love it and so will the adults! Across from the entrance is a place to sit down and eat. I plan to return here soon with my grandson. Children 3 & under are $5.50. Children up to 12 are $8.50. Adults are $10.50.
The Cave is an awesome exhibit for both kids and adults with a thoughtful design that uses real water to illustrate the cave system. The city and jungle exhibits will keep kids busy playing and imagining for hours. Definitely worth a visit and repeat visit. Reasonably priced.
This place is great for adults and kids. Has something to do for every age. Movies. Exhibits, players food and history lessons. Wear comfy shoes, the food choices are healthy and the standard chicken strips and pizza. They have done a fantastic job renovating and making the spot a must see area.
Best feature is the new climbing area near the entrance, great for young explorers to burn off energy. To see everything it takes a little less than 4 hours. The art section is pretty neat, with plenty of ways to tap into the creativity of young minds. Many of the components are showing signs of age, and could use refurbishment / replacement.
I brought my son here for his birthday. There were so many interactive exhibits and activities to keep him busy, as well as interesting and unique exhibits to fulfill my visit as well. I will be buying a pass and coming back for sure.
Really awesome experience.... Kids loved it. The Omnimax is added icing
Great experience through all four museums. Was impress with additional interactive exhibits. However, the best of the visit was the Omni show on the Apollo moon landing. I was a conspiracy theorist prior to seeing the movie, but I literally walk out moon walking. Take your family before it ends.
Enjoyed by all ages. Inside a beautiful structure. The Discovery pass let us into the childrens museum, the holiday train area and the natural history museum. The Childrens Museum has a lot of interactive stations for kids to explore and imagine. Watched as kids pretended to be Veterinarians and check stuffed animals, dentists and explore giant teeth and clean them, interactive ball area where air pumps balls through tubes....should be a size limit on kids in this area, we had a little one get knocked down by a teenager...more of a little kid area, also had an area where kids can pretend to shop for groceries, cook dinner, eat, etc...Area where bigger kids can climb through a cave. Chased a 2 year old through that one....fun slide hidden inside it.There was a snack bar but we did not partake.Loved the glassed in animal displays throughout.Ample parking, felt safe.
Fun place to take your children to play.
We have passes and we frequent the museum, our children love it. The kids areas are quite busy during the weekend, so we try to go during the week if were available. The new cave is really cool and were excited as the new exibits open.
My kids loved it! We didnt even get to do everything so I really look forward to taking them back!
Kids get to have fun.
So fun to go through here! I cant wait to see how it turns out when the remodel is 100% done! weve loved the changes so far
Since reopening, pretty nice. Stage area could be more consistently used. The Duke energy area with balls and such needs a repair and update. I also never realized how comforted I was by the restrictions on admission of adults without children until I found out they are no longer in place. I feel like that policy change should have been more clearly publicized. Could use a music area.
My 2-year-old loves the childrens museum. He could spend all day there. Hes always asking Can we go to the museum today? (Older kids love it too)
This children museum great if you a local. Currently it’s still going construction so I expect it to be even better down the line. I say 4-8 probably the ideal age IMO here. My daughter 2 and had a great time but 4 is a age they can do everything. One of the stairway in the woods isn’t safe at all. I caught some random children in mid air so he wouldn’t fall. It’s a tight stairway and u got children going up and down it. The little ones will get bumped and have a risk of falling so parents beware
Great place for kids to have fun in learning. My son loves the water area. The Woods is fun except the museum staff tends to go overboard making sure no one goes beyond a slow saunter
Amazing displays, lots for children of all ages to play with and learn from.
Cool room themes and activities for kids. Definitely a little more focused towards younger kids but overall a fun day for the whole family if you include the entire museum center!
Love going to this place. Even though Ive seen it all it still interests me. The kids love it as well
If youre thinking about visiting GO NOW ITS AWESOME
My kids love the childrens area! Lots of interactive things for kids and lots of great history for adults
Great for 3 hours of interactive toddler fun. Not on the same level as the Smithsonian or British museum but great for a local Midwestern spot. Lots of fun for the kids, appx 15$ per person plus 6$ for parking
Beautiful museum, we went for the Apollo 11 exhibit. The iMax theater was very nice, excellent sound quality, it felt like you were right there. We really enjoyed the exhibit, lots to see and there were employees there to answer any questions. We didnt go through the rest of the complex, but we plan on returning soon. We also want to bring our grandchildren, they will love it!
Egypt exhibit eased informative and interesting.
Renovations are nice and will prob be better when its all finished. My son had a blast.
Fun for the kids, lots of activities. Get a discovery pass, see all the museum.
Great place to take the family. The kids had just as much fun as I did. Cheap food was a plus. I didnt expect to feed the family for $20. We will be back soon.
Nice play area for kids. Newly open. Large section of the terminal still under construction. Will get better in future as more museums open. If you are here just for the play area then membership worth the money. If for the exhibits I would wait to 2019 when more things open like natural history and holocaust. Play area very nice with water play, a woods, grocery, mechanic, construction, kitchen, ball cage, and special area for under 4yo.
This place is great so much here to see, lot of great stuff to teach kids here. The train display here was really neat, kids can run and play in all different places . Really a nice place . Check it out.
The kids had so much fun they climbed thru their tunnels, played in the toddler rooms, shopped in their kitchen center for kids. They also have a construction zone and a ball room with all kinds of fun things for the kids.
Very cool setup. As an old train station the architecture and layout of the museum is awesome. Once we started to visit the different sections we were able to see stone really cool exhibits. One area had a few interactive activities where you could get hands on evidence of leverage or a wind tunnel. A few employees wandered the area and explained how or why certain things worked. One section seemed more like a play place than having educational interactive stations. There were some really cool exhibits and pieces but the entire experience seemed underwhelming. Having seen several other childrens museums I wouldnt consider this one particularly great.Kids would have a different perspective obviously. My kids had fun but I also got the sense that they liked other museums better.
Lots of great things to do and see here.
There is more to see and do (in a beautiful environment) than you could possibly do in a day.Explore their massive, life-like waterfall cave!
Ive gone back several times! The changing special exhibits are awesome... Well worth the drive...
Must go place for kids. Lots of learning things.
They truly cater to a wide range of ages. My 18 month old enjoyed the entire visit immensely!
Went to the Children’s museum on MLK day and even though it was packed it was super fun and our 4 children thoroughly enjoyed their time there! They had so many activities! My kids loved the kroger shopping area, dance parties, ball area and the woods just to name a few!
Extremely family friendly. Very generous staff. Great place to take your children, or to go on your own.
Great place for kids and the whole family.
I have a pass for myself, my husband, and our two kids...plus we can get a guest in for free. I recommend a pass for the museum because the ticket line is always long and you dont wait forever just to get in. We usually spend 2-3 hours at a time and our 2 year old is ready to go. The pass is useful because we can stay as short or as long as we want and come back as many times as we want. It never gets old!
Entry price is a bit high but the place is very nice and big with a ton for kids to do. The kids love it. Its as clean as you would expect for a Childrens play place.
We visited last year and our children loved it. There is so much to do there that we bought passes and now we visit on a regular basis. Staff has always been very friendly to us.
Great place to take your kids as they will be entertained for a couple of hours and learn about science and life all at the same time.
This place is amazing for children and with a very nice theater.
Lots of fun educational things for kids of all ages.
Awesome childrens museum. Very family friendly. Bring your own snacks because the snack bar is $$$.
Splurged on Destination Moon before it goes back th o thre Smithsonian in Feb.
Such a wonderful museum with something for all ages! Love taking our kids to the kids zone during the winter months and rainy days!
Great place for kids. Plenty of things to do from building houses, running a diner, doing major construction projects, to having a nature area to play in.
I absolutely love this museum. Its fun for the whole family. Childrens museum...natural history museum...cant forget the omni max theatre!!!
Our 2 year old had a great time in every area of the children’s museum. I think she liked filling the dump truck the most!
The kids love going to the museum. Its a wonderful place to have them learn and play.
Great place to let the kids unwind and learn. The best part is the learning is fun. Plenty of things for adults to look at. There is food for purchase and you can bring in a snack of your own if you prefer.
Love the childrens museum! Staff is great. Always clean.
Great Place for 1yo+
Needs another year (maybe more) to finish up construction, then hopefully will be much better. Very poorly organized. An engineers nightmare... Flights of stairs that go half way up then end right against a wall (cannot go the whole way) another flight that is about 4 wide then at the half way mark had a 3 diameter support column making people squeeze on the 6 inch space on each side. How can that be used in a fire/emergency. Also the museum maps do not show where the escalators or stairs are located, enter the main lobby (which IS gorgeous architecture) buy your admission get a map, example map, see that kids museum is on lower level then search around for the stairs or escalator (since none are listed on the map).Very nice area called the landing, done as a walk through of a lovely River boat dock and town, nice period piece, but just a small little section and to get to it you walk through enormous empty halls, bare white office walls with signs saying stuff is coming in the future. Turn another corner pass a modern white class room/lab then past another huge empty hall and then on your left is the entry to the landing. Once you walk through the landing, you then have to retrace your steps back past all the empty space to get back to see the rest of the museum.Has great potential, but looks like the designer/architect gave up halfway through (Im sure had to do with money) and I know it just reopened this past November but needs more time to finish up. Or just better planning, instead of starting with the landing at the back of the space, start with what will be closest to the main entrance, that way people dont have to walk past empty white space to see one small display. Plus then you can work on the expansion without making people walk through the construction area first.
Great value for kids. My only compliant is that the kids play area always smells like a loaded diaper.
Duke energy supplies the power to our house. The museum really isnt a museum, its more of a playroom for kids!! Being 12, I got to do things I havent done in 7 years!! (A long time tbh) Wonderful place.
There is something here for children of all ages to Enjoy! We have been just for fun and attended field trips and the kids have thoroughly enjoyed both!
My child always have fun here. The art activities are her favorite
Great space for kids to explore, play, and learn.
Theres so many fun things to see do and learn for the whole family!
Very educational and interesting!
Beautiful facility. There are a lot of different exhibits in there. I took my son to the Childrens museum and we also saw the science and space exploration exhibit. We had a blast!
I havent been since ai was a child recently took my 3 young kids and they HIGHLY enjoyed it. Also if you have food stamps you get in really cheap and free parking!
Great spot for wonder and exploration. The toddlers were well entertained. Well-prepared story time.
Be a great place to bring my grandkids
Perfect for kids of all ages many activities ranging from construction site dentist office grocery store to the woods which is like a big tree house with slides and many obstacles and things for kids to enjoy.
The dinosaurs were awesome!!!!! I definitely enjoyed it more than my kids though.
My kids love going so much that ask for a season pass for Christmas so that got it
My goodness this is a wonderful place. Union Terminal in general is amazing! The childrens area equally so. If youre visiting from out of town, definitely stop by and take in the exhibits. Plus, the remodels are wonderful and what theyve done with the food there is great!
