Treadway Gallery is fantastic!! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. My experience was nothing short of excellent. I would highly recommend them.

The owner has a TERRIBLE attitude!I sent an email with a couple of photos of a Monier painting.This was the first response:“I believe this is a print, that it has little value…we dont do framing and i think it would be a waste to appraise this…don treadway“BTW, in my tired stupor, I just looked back and realized I did say I’d like to get framed when I meant to say we have a framed photo (narcolepsy makes you do silly things.)Anyway, I responded back that it was an actual oil painting, that you could feel the texture. To which Don responded, “It’s a textured print, they are common...lots of people mistake these for paintings...”So I explained that my in-laws got it in the 1980s in Chicago (it’s a Monier Old Chicago painting) and most likely real - like how would you know if you won’t even look at it?”Then I get back this gem which in part says, “actually its very unlikely that its an original painting…it is very likely that its what i said it was…i find it odd that you contact me for information which i give you free of charge and all of a sudden you know more than i do…i’ve been selling art for over 40 years, have sold thousands of paintings and i’ve seen more than my share of these…if you have a magnifying glass you can look at the surface and find a dot pattern which is typical of these textured prints...”Riiight - a fake print was professionally framed, clearly canvas, with markings on back from previous auction house.Had he been a professional and set up an appointment to view it, he would have seen all of this instead of being so rude.I only even reached out because he had a 5 star rating on Google. But that was out of 2 reviews.And as I was typing this review. I got another rude email that in part says, “ good customer service is the truth, without charge…bad customer service is to tell you something other than the truth…attitude is directly related to your ignorance and thought process that you know more than i do...”If you want a rude, arrogant appraiser, this is the place for you.

I recently won a marblehead vase at Treadways auction. Although I was not able to attend the auction, I set up a phone bid and was able to bid live. From start to finnish my experience was great! I plan to follow Traedway in the future and highly reccomend them.
