This place was perfect for pictures! Loved it although I would recommend going on a weekday as I went on a Saturday and there were like 3 quinceañeras taking photo sessions.
Its sad to see this place in the state its in right now. I really hope they are planning on restoring it or even doing preventive maintenance. The roof is leaking and people are staring to break in and steal the antiques. The cops came out because I was taking pictures and I told them it looked like someone had broke in but they didnt seem concerned. They just told me to leave and not come back, but this isnt the end, Im calling the county tomorrow and am going to get this property back on their list of places to maintain. Too much history and artifacts rotting away to let this go.
Super creepy place at night but its super cool during the day. I think its closed now
Beautifully preserved site -although it is very much out of the way. You can easily lose a half a day just exploring life in the 1800s. The kids had a lot of fund running around and because of its location it was very peaceful and quiet.
We went there yesterday after checking the web page. The web page needs updating. The page said it was open, but when we got there, there wasnt anyone there, the buildings were locked up, and it looked like it hadnt had anyone there for a very long time. As we were leaving, someone had called the police. They told us that no one had been working there for a long time (despite what the web page said). Call before you go.
Always fresh meat produce. Nice variety
