Nice, never been back the path, and still havent. We went @ night trying to find and record Native American spirits. Decided to turn around due to being in tall grass and darkness. Animals you know. Will be back (in daylight) to explorep more !!
Cool place, but trails are unmarked and not kept up too well. I am glad that they turned it into a park for all to explore and learn about. If you go, take the map that they offer, go on to the trail and get onto the driveway as soon as you can, then go towards the gate that you will see in the distance. There is a train track right there. Go down the driveway until you see a path to your left. You will almost be right by the gate at the train tracks, go to the big and open mowed area and look at the map. You can see it all. The parking lot is nice, they have a picnic area there too. Plan on a good long walk, but if you like this kind Historical place, you will have a good time.
Great place to get your steps in. Apparently, the museum that explains what youre looking at is 6 miles away... There is a big field and staff have done good job of mowing trails through to different parts. You walk through undisturbed natural field with wild flowers. Our dog enjoyed sniffing around and the long walk - take your own bags.
Quiet, nice picinic area. Nice trail.
Its a field. Its a bit of a walk to the overlook. Not super exciting but when u see the signs for it you can stop wondering what it is.
The walking trails are over grown & the earth works are barely visible.
Trails unmarked and too much weeds!
Interesting visit, place could use better signage or plaques.
Scenic trails. Nice place to take a walk and enjoy nature.
Worthwhile part of the park to stop at. A short ~1 mile (round trip) hike to an overview spot allows you to gaze over earthworks peacefully.
Cant see earthworks, they have eroded too much over time.Nice park area though!
Not much to see and do but a nice 30 minute walk in nature and you can learn a little bit about the local history of the area.
Nice place to walk and beautiful
Nice parking lot. Just an open field, not much to hike. Great treats across the street at Whits.
Very cool man made mounds
Very beautiful scenery with nice trails
A short hiking (1.1 miles round trip) - partial coverings and partial openings. Pick up a brochure from Hopewell Culture Visitor Center to compare between previous and current landscape.
Very informative. Native Americans may not have been civilized from the prespective of the early Europeans invading the land coming from a place where large amounts of people lived close together, but they were mistaken.
Love walking out here
A Great place.
Great experience
