Millennium Park is filled with a theater, pavilion, and of course the Art Institute! I would leave an entire afternoon (or honestly...day) to roam and love up on this park. Chicago is such an amazing city and this park is really the epicenter of what makes it so special. I cant wait to find myself there on a beautiful day someday soon.
Has quickly become a Chicago must see! Parking can be difficult, but plenty of transportation options, both public and private!Plenty of surrounding beautifully kept greenery and gardens! Once done taking it on, you can easily walk to other landmarks. Or just walk up gorgeous Michigan avenue!
AwesomeThis amazing bean is surrounded by parks and walk ways that you can run around all day long. The eateries are delicious near by to this place, millennium park is a good place to sit and enjoy the cool weather.River walk is just a mile away which is straight, the skyscrapers give it a view like never experienced before.Awesome place to snap a pic
Millennium Park is home to Cloud Gate (or The Bean) and is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. You could spend hours looking at The Bean from every angle and taking photographs. And the views of the city are amazing. There are plenty of paths and walkways to explore also. This is a must-see on any trip to Chicago!
Anything I get to go to Chicago Im overly excited. The only thing I will say is that the tree was much smaller then what I remember seeing when I was younger. Its located right pass the bean this year with purple and blue lights.. There is a lot of shopping and good places to eat nearby if you consider walking down Michigan Ave.
Very iconic Chicago attraction... very cool to check out. Theres something magical about the bean. Its set in millennium park, right amidst all of the high rises and busy backdrop of downtown Chicago. You can literally gaze into the mirror finish of the bean for hours! I definitely recommend this to anyone, anywhere!
An absolute crowd favorite. The Bean is a staple for chicago and a must see anytime you are downtown for tourism. During covid you are unable to walk up to touch the bean but rather see it from a gate a short distance away.
I love Millennium Park. I actually work across the street at the School of the Art Institute—so it’s easy to see why I’ve fallen in love with this part of Chicago. It’s a bit odd being in the Covid era (since the site-seeing crowd has dwindled), but it’s better because I get to experience this gem of a city mostly by myself. Hehe.
Due to covid there were a lot less people than there normally are, and even the area near Cloud Gate is shut off. The sculpture looks beautiful without hundreds of people taking selfies around it. The trees were red, orange, yellow as fall arrived, and overall it was a great experience. Always a treat to visit it during peak Autumn.
Lot to do around here. Beautiful scenery, lots of places to take pictures. You can get a lot of great images at the bean. You could easily spend a half hour to an hour at different angles. The fountain from Married with Children is a close walk, the water is crystal clear, Navy Pier is a nice long scenic walk with the city skyscrapers in the background.
Amazing stop on a long road trip. The busy streets, people, and tall buildings make for an unforgettable experience. Of course, you must stop and see the bean!
Magical place! Garden in the heart of the city. Beautiful landscaping, arts surrounded by architectural masterpieces.
There are a lot of areas to relax and have socially distanced fun due to the amount of green space. You have wonderful views of the city and some landmarks like the Bean.
Pretty cool, but wish we could have gotten closer. But due to COVID-19 they have it gated off. Which I understand why, and wasnt upset about but thankful for.
Tonight was Lit, the festive lights & holiday spirit is warming ppl stay safe, wear your mask & social distance
Cloud Gate is an iconic and really cool installation. It can get crowded and interfere with the awesome selfish that you want to take, but if your timing is right, you can practically have the whole place to yourself. Unfortunately it is closed for COVID19. Why, is anyones guess. Go ask Pritzker.
The bean has gates all around it but you can still watch it, enjoy your time there and get nice pics. Some parks around are closed due covid19.
It was alright. Sorry that The Bean was blocked off so we couldnt get closer then 20-30 feet. Still got some great shots though.
Beautiful I love this so place so much even it’s too cold to go out
It’s amazing to see The Bean in real life! Besides that it is a nice park to walk around, but nothing special. I did really like it, seeing it once was enough for me though.
Very enjoyable. Lots of great places to eat. Public transportation available all around
A good place. I have been there so many times now. Surrounded by buildings, park and walk ways. One can take amazing pictures and sit for hours. To get a good picture of Big bean is these days as it is barricaded so no one near it.
My favorite place in the city! When I used to work in the south loop, some days I would walk down Michigan just to stop by the Millennium Park. It’s so beautiful. You can enjoy the city view and still relax.
Restrictions for COVID 19, you will find fences to access the park.
This is a have to go place for anyone visiting Chicago. A lot of fun and relax in this wonderful park. If you get lazy just relax and take a nap under de sun. Recommend
The bean is fenced off right now due to COVID concerns, however I am STILL giving 5 stars- I am glad they are taking necessary precautions, and this was still a very memorable part of our vacation!! Such a gorgeous park as well, and in a great part of the city! Definitely recommend checking it out if you are visiting the Chicago area!!! (No fees to enter, we just paid a small fee to park on the street)
Very fun place to visit but its really cold there and it has a lot of good restaurants.
Great place to visit while in Chicago. See The Bean, grab lunch, walk around, and get some fresh air.
Great park. obviously the bean/cloud gate is a great attraction, but the rest of the park is nice as well.
Lots of people out taking in the fresh air. Most attractions such as Grant Park Orchestra, the Bean thats famously known and most of the Navy pet attractions were closed.Still a great place to visit and sit or walk and take in views of LAKE MICHIGAN!
Great to spend time with family and friends, would love if there was a little more organization though but its definitely an awesome place
Beautiful park, seasonal landscaping, The Bean and much more... A tourist destination for sure here, a short walk from the Chicago River Walk and all majors r hotels on Magnificent Mile.I used to come here a lot more when I got visiting out of town guests. On this visit with my hubby, we were shocked to get turn away with our small dog. They fenced up with security and all now!
Great place to walk around and spend time with the family. Gotta wear a mask in the park though. They have security at the gate. There is only 1 entrance and 1 exit now.
Bean is closed off but ice rink just opened to limited capacity. Still worth a visit even in pandemic, masks required to enter.
It is a nice place to get to know but when the attractions are closed. it doesnt look so spectacular
Excellent place to spend time with family and friends. You can rent bicycles and enjoy the beautiful view from Navy Pier to Millennium Park.
Chicagos showpiece shines with whimsical public art. Where to start amid the mod designs? Perhaps Pritzker Pavilion, Frank Gehrys swooping silver band shell. Jaume Plensas Crown Fountain, with its human gargoyles. Anish Kapoors silvery sculpture Cloud Gate (aka the Bean). O maybe someplace away from the crowds, like the veiled Lurie Garden, abloom with prairie flowers.
Sadly cloud gate literally has a gate because of Covid-19. But everything else looks very good and in good shape.
Beautiful as always. Ill never get over how nice downtown Chicago is. No other city like this one, and Millennium Park sits right in the middle of it. A perfect balance between serenity, nature, and city-life. Most of the landmarks were closed due to the covid, but just walking around is still beautiful. Not overcrowded when I went, and lots of ice cream for sale.
Temperature was amazing for a walk at the park and they did have a lot of exits blocked. Still got a beautiful imagine of the bean.
It was in lock down - so huge disappointment but yet we were able to see the “bean.” However, and this has nothing to do with the park, but huge negative points to the parking police for giving me a ticket despite paying the meter. It was a forbidden area after 8pm. Seriously? How would I have known that . Let that be a warning to all of you! It’s on the weekends especially.
It was very nice and i had a blast in chicago. My friends told me theres no way you can leave without seeing the bean. Because of carona i wasnt able to get close but as you see in the pic it was worthy for the pic.
Good Ol Chicago bean! Great spot to take pictures, have a nice casual walk!
Nice park to walk around. Some parts were closed off right now but sitting right in the middle of city with building surrounded were a nice view.
Millennium Park is a public park located in the Loop community area of Chicago in Illinois operated by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and managed by MB Real Estate. The park was intended to celebrate the third millennium and is a prominent civic center near the citys Lake Michigan shoreline that covers a 24.5-acre (99,000 m2) section of northwestern Grant Park. The area was previously occupied by parkland, Illinois Centrals rail yards, and parking lots. The park, which is bounded by Michigan Avenue, Randolph Street, Columbus Drive and East Monroe Drive, features a variety of public art. As of 2009, Millennium Park trailed only Navy Pier as a Chicago tourist attraction and by 2017 it had become the number one tourist attraction in the Midwestern United States. In 2015, the park became the location of the citys annual Christmas tree lighting.Planning of the park began in October 1997. Construction began in October 1998, and Millennium Park was opened in a ceremony on July 16, 2004, four years behind schedule. The three-day opening celebrations were attended by some 300,000 people and included an inaugural concert by the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus. The park has received awards for its accessibility and green design.Millennium Park has free admission, and features the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Cloud Gate, the Crown Fountain, the Lurie Garden, and various other attractions. The park is connected by the BP Pedestrian Bridge and the Nichols Bridgeway to other parts of Grant Park. Because the park sits atop a parking garage and the commuter rail Millennium Station, it is considered the worlds largest rooftop garden. Some observers consider Millennium Park the citys most important project since the Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893.It far exceeded its originally proposed budget of $150 million. The final cost of $475 million was borne by Chicago taxpayers and private donors. The city paid $270 million; private donors paid the rest, and assumed roughly half of the financial responsibility for the cost overruns. The construction delays and cost overruns were attributed to poor planning, many design changes, and cronyism. Many critics have praised the completed park.In 2017, Millennium Park was the top tourist destination in Chicago and the Midwest, and placed among the top ten in the United States with 25 million annual visitors.
The Cloud Gate aka The Bean stands all alone during the Covid times . Visits allowed though from a distance. Looks even more beautiful without those crowds swamping it .
Regardless of covid and masks being mandatory the park was organized and pretty busy still. Security was helpful and kind the art work was phenomenal and the entire park did not disappoint
The Magnificent Mile is another tourist trap that is worth the time to visit. Lots of (window) shopping, plenty of restaurants to choose from, and so many things to do it takes more than 1 day. Plan a whole weekend to take photo ops and enjoy.
We had seen pics online but seeing the bean in person is much better! Take weird selfies, admire the view of the lake, and go under the bean to the dimple in the middle to see the crazy reflection. This is a must do that costs nothing. Close to other parks and a short walk to downtown.
We enjoyed this fun tourist attraction this park has alot going on. We came and saw what we wanted and enjoyed the beauty of the area.
This is a very peaceful and lovely place! It offers a lot that you could wish of. The theater is simply amazing! Here you can enjoy the music fun and frolic as it rightly adds to the attraction of Chicago, IL.Unfortunately, we visited it during COVID 19 but still it offers freshness and pleasure.
Definitely a must visit place! Nice views of Chicagos downtown skyline, the famous bean monument and an adjacent place where concerts take place in sumer season... in winter, theres an ice skating field and you can take walks all around the park.
It was such a beautiful park, especially this time of year. The trees were all different colors of fall and the flowers were in full bloom. A lot of things were gated off due to covid but we still enjoyed the scenery.
Although parts of it was closed, and it was cold. This was still a great experience and I loved seeing the leaves and diverse families taking pictures.
Came to see the Christmas tree with my children and friend... Its beautiful just too packed
I love this place. It’s such an amazing place to be. This is the just a mesmerizing park where any event looks grand and well that too in downtown. The view in this place is truly the best and experience is phenomenal. If you have been to Chicago and not been here, you have definitely missed something. In summers it is one on the most lively place.
Beautiful park. Love the experience
Nice park in downtown Chicago. Great place to get away from the chaos of the city
Great place for family trips. Specially kids to run wild and free. My 7 year old took the picture. He was amazed of how big this bean was. Parking was only $13.95
Usually I would give 5 . I love coming here regardless of the weather. My only issue was the bathroom deal OMG (if some parts of the park are still open, so should a few restrooms or at least one .) I absolutely hate the porta potty thing...
Houses the main tourist attraction of Chicago. It has other attractions as well and is very pretty.
The City has done an excellent job to ensure that visitors are protected and maintain proper protocol during this pandemic.Actually, it has become a lot easier to get a nice picture due to the current rules. YAY. No rude people in your pictures.
Covid kept my girl and I from getting close, but it was cool too look at !
I’m love with the park special in fall look the pictures omg!!
In March 2016 I m going to America . I m going to millenium park in Chicago .Millennium Park is a good place to hang out with family. This place is located in Chicago, USA. Bollywood and Hollywood movies are shot here. A song from Dhoom 3 movie was shot here. This is a very fun place. These are the places worth seeing once in a lifetime .
Absolutely beautiful place any time of year.
One of the best major city parks in the Country, clean and beautiful.
Millenium park is a gorgeous place is new age with a old age together recommended
Innovative, unique, well maintained park that seems to be a dream come true for any architect : )The marvellous park is a very cozy place amidst the humdrum of the city. An afternoon spent in leisure, with a book or maybe a friend seems like a perfect plan.
Beautiful park will definitely be back early morning when there isnt a large crowd.
One of the greatest places in CHICAGO.Some facts about the park:-What is now Millennium Park was first conceived in late 1997 with Mayor Richard M. Daleys vision of turning the area into a new public space for residents of Chicago. The original plan called for a 16-acre park and outdoor music venue in the traditional Beaux Arts style of Grant Park.Check out the rail yards where Millennium Park now sitsThe Illinois Central Railroad originally owned the area until the city took it back over, ultimately building the gorgeous park.
The covid mandates make it a bit odd but still a must see attraction
After having seen this structure here and other websites and literature I knew we just had to see it. It is one of the most incredible pieces of art ever. Awe inspiring. You can just gaze at it for ever and it is so interactive which is funny because it does move or do anything but sit there. This is a true gem for Chicago. Millenium Park which it sits in is also very wonderful. Lots to see and stroll through. Gardens, pathways, scenery. This area is not to be missed if you are visiting downtown Chicago. I took lots of pics and video and did a pretty neat video of it. It was fun. It is busy in the daytime and a little less crowded in the evening. Go just when the sun is setting. The lighting is great as the city lights up.
This was just like I thought it would be. You really can see the reflection in it. Im not sure what the other photo I took was of, but its very interesting as well. We only spent enough time here to see Cloud Gate (the Bean) and get pictures.
Beautiful weather Labor Day weekend, crowds but lots of police patrol parked along N Michigan Avenue. The Bean was packed with tourists. Traffic was a bit insane but otherwise the parks were accessible by walking.
Beautiful city scape, with great views of downtown buildings. Cool landmarks like The Bean, Face Fountains, and the Serpentine Bridge.
Millennium Park is so beautiful with nice view of the city and very clean. The bean is a nice place to see and take pictures ️
This place is ecstatic by itself. You can say that you were above the clouds. The cloud gate is amazingly beautiful. I loved its mirrors from different angles. It shows your different form from different angles. There is so much to do, one can spend whole day here.
Such a beautiful park. We still took pictures by the gated off bean. We took some beautiful pictures in the fall leaves
Super cool concept. They have it blocked off for covid so you cannot get right up on it, but its still close enough to get some decent pictures.
Good really did not care for the one way in one way out only..
Have you ever experienced calm before the storm ? Go to this park early in the morning around 7 and stay there until 9.30 and you get to experience that. The park is quiet in the morning and was beautiful to walk around. Slowly the place started getting crowded and the traffic with the people coming to offices
Good old place to tour on the downtown visit. It is rather spooky these days due to pandemic and park. itself could use more maintenance.
Very crowded but managed to take photos in oct 2018
A sprawling park with a ton of stuff to do. Cloud Gate, a concert venue, several pretty fountains, and a botanical garden. You also have plenty of hot dog stands to pick from (which are a must do). It’s simply one of those places you can’t go to Chicago without visiting because there’s so much there and nearby. Nearby, in walking distance, is also the Chicago Art Institute, so stop by and see some iconic paintings and artifacts you’ve seen your entire life.
One Awesome place to visit!! Great atmosphere! Chicago has it going on!
Its Millennium Park. What more can be said? Cool place for first-time tourists or those living close by who want a nice place to walk through at night. Large crowds, so be warned.
We visited the Park on a Friday lunchtime. A beautifully day, the Park was still very quiet, giving us the opportunity to take some great photos and have a good wander around. Visitor numbers are obviously lower at the moment, but the Park has also limited access points to the two entry / exit locations on Michigan Ave - as well as limiting numbers, due to COVID. A must when visiting Chicago, we spent a very pleasant hour in the Park.
Always worth a stopover when visiting Chicago. Note: during Covid-19 the only place you can enter the park is at a checkpoint at E. Washington St, as the whole park is now fenced in. Wish I had known that. Cloud Gate (the Bean) is also surrounded by a fence, but you can still walk up and take pictures, just from a short distance.
Such a beautiful landmark,a must see!!
We traveled far just to see this famous landmark of Chicago and were in Millennium Park the day after Christmas. The weather was nice that day. As seen in the picture, it was crowded with so many people coming. We can see people enjoying their time there, either alone or with company. You can also find ice skating rink and playground nearby, Its a nice serenity in the midst of busy city life.
Located right in the middle of the city, this beautiful park is a must visit place in Chicago to get the iconic bean picture
Some parts of the park are restricted for safety reasons due to Covid-19, but overall you can enjoy the scenery, take pictures and enjoy the park with your friends or family. Mask required
Local or travelers...this is a must see stop if your ever in DT Chicago. Great little spot with lots of things close by. But amazing reflection for pics.
