Lately Ive been eating less meat and more pasta so Ive been trying new Italian places. Pasta Sisters is now one of my favorites. Its a little hole in the wall but the timing worked out where we could get seating. I resisted my go to pesto gnocchi and tried the truffle spaghetti and my boyfriend had the mushroom porcini on pappardelle pasta. Perfection! We will definitely be returning. Ohhh, and we had the Sfogliatelle Napoletane as a dessert (crispy and flaky puff pastry filled with ricotta cheese and candied citrus)-YUM. The candied citrus is light to not overpower the ricotta cheese, loved it!
This is a good place for live music and fun events. On this particular occasion we attended an opera performance upstairs. There was also a band playing downstairs. A lot of variety. Good beer selection and decent prices. Friendly staff. Bartender was kind enough to give me a free beer after we closed out and chatted with me for a while about upcoming events. Had a good time. Good for groups.
The elbo room is a class act place for local and touring bands. Sound mixing was awesome, the lighting setup was inspiring in the fog machine its just pure rock and roll. We played with three other bands on a Wednesday night which seems like a lot but there were all really good so they clearly get high quality talent.
Fantastic venue for live music. Whoever is running the sound board is one of the Brest in the city. The dont was crisp and clear. Abbey performer sounded terrific. Bartenders mix a nice cocktail as well.
Nice place to enjoy music. Amazing place to go for chill out. The ambiance joyful here. The drinks were also nice. Recommended place.
Elbo Room is a small music venue and bar. We came to see a friend play. It was $10 at the door or you could buy them online. The bar at the entrance takes card but the bar by the stage is cash only, so I would bring some cash if I were going to go again. No food is served here, but the service was good and the people were friendly. The show was super fun! It is a nice intimate stage but still has all the lights and what you go to see a show for.
I know closely the talent buyers and hard-working individual behind this venue. They are saints, just trying to make great shows happen for music fans, and drinkers. I applaud them and love this place.
This place has been around for as long as I can remember. Went to see my girlfriends friend and it was awesome. Finally got a chance to go downstairs and what a cool room. Look forward to going back soon.
The Shout House may be downtown Chicago most unique and fun bar experience. I never knew something like this even existed and I know make it a goal to always visit shout house at least once during a night out in the Gas-lamp area. My favorite time here was on Halloween when they did a Disney theme! It is a large space and the pianist are as funny as they are talented.Change up for partying/going out routine by going to Shout House.
Fantastic underground joint. Great for live music. Please go support the Chicago music scene! Go here! Great vibe, great staff, reasonably priced drinks. Music, one of a kind.
My buddy Eric and I were booking a Friday night gig there for May 2019. Everything was getting finalized until they found out he had hip hop support acts (Eric is an acoustic guitarist). They told us the owners don’t like hip hop shows especially on the weekends, so we would need to change it to a weekday or hire 2 security guards ($150 each). We had already started ticket sales so we had to refund a bunch of them, but that wasn’t the main issue. The security fee was concerning since it isn’t required for any other genre.I hate to bring race into this, but let’s call it what it is. This basically read as we need more security because black people get out of hand. They feel this way even though we have hosted countless open mics here without incident. Our fans/customers have always respected the space and we felt lucky to have it as an artistic platform for Chicago’s youth. I understand that this is a private owned business and they can book who they want, but they will never get our business again. Don’t support any business that discriminates against hip hop and black people.
Difficult to find. I called bartender gave me excellent directions. Crowded place had live music.
Great venue, very cool vibe with the multiple stages. Sound was unfortunately not great. Good bands deserve to be mixed better.
This place has 2 stages. One downstairs and one on the main floor. Both are great to see bands or solo artist. They bring in a lot of smaller groups giving them a chance to become known. I enjoy seeing shows here.
They should turn the TVs off when theres live music upstairs. Maybe try to sound proof the door to downstairs better too.... Otherwise cool.
Really cool music venue with multiple stages! Id love to go back and spend more time here!
Super fun place with fantastic performers, good selection of beers and get sound acoustics. The players were funny, they engaged the audience really well and even invited a customer to play. Looked like it was planned but wasnt!
Me and my band played a concert there... it was great with my pals. Its a great place to do gigs.
So much talent in one room. youll sing your heart out!! make reservation ahead of time! food is delicious, beer is cheep and youll enjoy yourself to the fullest.
Galaxy of glitter was great!! Been here b4 to see live music. Always a good time!!
Nice bar. Good when its not packed. Not much street parking nearby. Good staff. Stairs to the basement level are steep and narrow, scary to go down if you have been drinking. Often has live music. Decent prices for the Northside.
As an artist who has performed at Elbo Room a couple of times I can say that the staff is awesome. Its very welcoming. The sound guy always does a great job.
Cool bar/venue. Small stage up top, large stage underneath with local bands that killed it. Shout out to Animal Factory!
Fun place. Wish they had more of a beer selection.
Nice small/intimate space with live music.
I came here to see a friend perform and the name of this place is pretty self explanatory. Definitely very tight when it comes to space. It can also get really hot in there... whew! This is a place for rock music and other related genres. If your African American and plan on going....it’s predominantly white, their music and their service reflects that as well. My friend is R&B and makes really good music... once all the rock bands were done playing they didn’t stay to listen to her. Didn’t Even give her a chance, the place cleared out. If you like beer and rock music and your from the north side... this might be the place for you. I personally didn’t feel comfortable here, but I guess this place just wasn’t my cup of tea. Not because of the music because I love rock music but because the atmosphere wasn’t welcoming for people of color. -And that’s just my opinion
Nice, chill place. Drinks were fairly priced. I didnt get to stay too long since the birthday celebrant was kicked out rather early. Kudos for being near a Chicago place that serves bacon-wrapped hotdogs!
Great venue
Easily one of the best intimate venues in the city. Its an old place with a lot of history. Friendly staff, good hang even if youre not there for a show.
I always play here when I come through town. Great venue, cool space. Renovated the lounge area since I was there last summer. Looks great. Bartenders are great, environment is perfect to watch a game or play a small show.I’ve downstairs before too and had a very positive experience. If I lived in the neighborhood I’d come here often.
Some people would say this is a dive bar but it was a lot of fun music was great to separate stages one upstairs one downstairs parking is free but hard to find make sure you Dont Park in a posted no parking area.
20 years of fun and family. Sad its coming to an end
Just another bar. A lot of good bands play here. I dont drink so I was invited here by a friend of mine to see a show. So hey enjoy
Great place for live music. Gotta love the dice shots too!
I love their open mic experience
A rock bar through and through. Plenty of elbow room, which was a great thing. Staff was nice and accommodating. If you are looking for a martini bar it is not really the place, but solid neighborhood bar with live music and plenty of beer and shots -youre in the right place!
Definitely not worth the price for the show that we saw. Small crowded space, definitely felt mislead compared to the show description online
It was pretty cool here. Great venue for music, though its hit or miss on the actual band. But I think thats pretty cool since it lets up & coming artists have a place. My main complaint was its cash only and the drinks were very expensive and in small plastic cups.
Great venue for live music on an intimate scale. The lighting and audio make the one-foot riser stage feel large. Plenty of standing room directly in front, seating along the side and a full bar - all sequestered downstairs, away from the bar proper, so you get a full concert experience rather than a that of band playing in the back of a bar.
Yup, this is my second home. Solid local artists, me being one of them..check out the Wednesday open mics.
One of the best places in linkoln park
Saw a friend and his band play here (first time in a while out with my spouse). Had a great time, staff was friendly, drinks were decently priced for a North side bar. Would recommend this place to my friends.
Played a great show here. I forgot a piece of equipment and the staff was very helpful in helping me get it back! Sound guy is great, would love to play here again.
Nice place for comedy with a dope staff!
Small bar. Great venue. Amazing sound. Bar tenders got your drink as u walk up!
Enjoyed Douglas Slur on stage! Nice acoustics!
Great bar. Went on a Monday night and made friends not only with the owner, but also with a dog who was there for Bark and Bingo. Very cozy, homey spot. Made us feel at home while on vacation. Owner behind the bar. Support this bar because the neighborhood is changing rapidly. Show up after 10 on a weeknight and chat with the awesome owner and a regular.
Great place classic joint to get a drink or watch a performance
When I need quality live music and a strong drink from friendly service, I go to the Elbo Room every time. And I never regret it. Its my go to. Harder and harder to find places like this in the neighborhood. Be sure to ask for Dave if you want a Guinness poured the right way.
Nothing fancy. Cute eclectic little gritty . Cash only. But theres an ATM. I went for a live show in the basement. I had a blast! What else can I say?
Nice place. Great sound. Drinks are cash only. Staff is nice.
Bands, open mics, great casual venue for music. I come here and unwind. Love it
I know its appeal is the whole basement bar, but when there is water from the ceiling dripping into your drink its not good. Didnt even realize it until it splashed back at me. Who knows what I drank prior to that. Didnt smell too good. It would also be nice if they took out the moldy seat cushions.Aside from that, the music sounds great.
Great venue, awesome entertainment.. fun staff
Cool place to see live music. Both upstairs and downstairs has a nice stage
Love this place. One of the best music venues in the city and all the folks working there are awesome.
I attended a music event in the basement and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Good drinks but limited seating. Note, they only take cash.
Love this place. Thanks #EA7160 for the invite. Me, my sister, & her friend really enjoyed ourselves tonight and this morning.
With two floors to relax, drink and listen to great music on, The Elbo Room is the complete experience. The people are always friendly, and they also support local music at open mics during the week. The Elbo Room is one of the reasons why Chicago is one of the best places in the world for food and nightlife.
Nice music band. Broken seats !
Awesome spot. Really great place to see an intimate show, sound is fantastic! Has a funky vibe downstairs, and its fun to grab a drink upstairs before and after.
Weve had a blast here on numerous occasions, danced and drank. A little bit loud and dark but not so much you wont enjoy yourself. It can get a little crowded but what good place doesnt? Nice staff and great music.
Adorable small venue. Cash only bar downstairs.
Great servicep!
Great venue. But a Hamms is $4.
Decent place to perform... Cons: big ass pole center stage along with carpet on the stage... #weird
Great place to listen to live music, have a few beers and dance with friends and meet new people, great DJ, had an awesome time overall! Gonna come back as soon as I can
Real music and good times!
The Fifth Star was performing tonight and was a great show. Intimate venue, great staff, good drinks!
Popped in last night after a show at the Athenaeum and really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was so friendly and laid back. Good beer, good whiskey, good vibes. James was bartending and was very fun and friendly. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.
A great venue for up and coming artists. They really give a chance for new music to be heard and the opportunity for diverse music and experiences. There is a main stage and a lounge and I love the diverse acts that are avaiable.
One of the best dive bar/concert venues in the city!
Elbow room is amazing. They are great because they work with tons of local artists to put on niche shows. I really enjoy their drinks and their service and atmosphere is amazing.
Best club for live rock music and those dance hits!
Good evening out.. cool venue..to enjoy some music..wild to mild..
Went here expecting to dislike it, but it really knocked my socks off. Two stages with a variety of acts, cheap beer and shots, and friendly staff to boot. Solid sound/light system downstairs. Good spot for a show!
It definitely fits its name. Very small but thats great for the acts they pull in or the special opportunities when you get to see a big draw in there.
A long time favorite place of mine to catch a quick show.
Nice ND clean. Bluegrass upstairs graffiti down stairs.
I got to see Mike Mainand the Branches! It was great!!
Great hole in the wall. Not for the claustraphobic...
Small, intimate, loud and fun. Cash only bar downstairs, but you can run a tab upstairs.
Great place for House Music events and rock bands. Sounds are spectacular and service was on point.
At this bar they always have great live music. There is an upstairs and downstairs bar. The upstairs usually has a smaller band and the downstairs has a DJ or band.
Great sound, the vibe is very chill, I love to do shows there.
Love their throwback night!
They pour heavy, have a rotating beer selection, live music, divey-feels, good vibes, and theres a golden apple down the street for late-night noms. Whats not to love?
Divey place to see good music. Kind staff and good beer.
The band Alphina noise succkkks!!!
Great space. cool staffi like the table video game they havein the lobby. i believe its a versionof mrs. pac man
Hate to see it go
