Interesting, inviting, and fun. A great experience to wander 4 floors of art. They have a main show on 1 floor, and 3 other floors of Art with pieces for sale! See many different artist, styles, pieces, and concepts. Be delighted with your friends, or a date in this setting. I saw people casual, and many dressed for a night out on the town as they sip on cocktails/beer. I saw an area on the 1st floor with alcohol, and others brought it, so i believe its byob. you need time to go through all the floors and exhibits, so be sure to be comfortable and with good company. A must stop.
This is such a cool art center! The space is pretty much a very open room with various rooms and sculptures lying around the room. The artwork is rotated regularly. The space itself has a warehouse feel. I really like the furniture inside and the overall industrial feel. I’m sure people use this venue for their wedding ceremonies.
LOVE this center. Every third Friday of the month, i head over to Bridgeport to visit the open galleries that are always full to the brim with curious people, fascinating art (painting, sculptures, pottery, woodwork, multi media art, jewelry, etc.), and ... of course wine and snacks. If not the Zhou B Art Center, on each third Friday, the Bridgeport Art Center is another open gallery with amazing things to look at and purchase.I highly recommend going to visit on one of these free Fridays and experience what this place (and the Bridgeport Art Center) has to offer. Every time, since the showcasing artists differ, your experience will differ. Last time, i went through a new world created of artifacts all individually curated and developed to match the artists vision for that exhibit. (See video attached)
It was an amazing experience to attend the third Friday open house at Zhou B Art Center this past week. The five floors of the building are a magnet for artists, collectors and art appreciators. There was so much going on it was hard to take it all in and I cant wait to attend the third Friday in October. I was amazed at the quality and variety of the artwork and it was fun to meet the artists and speak to them about their art.
Great place! amazing art and so great we had our homecoming dance here
The acoustics on the second floor are not great for speaking not music. The venue would do well to add some acoustic damping in strategic locations to have better sound for wedding speeches and music. First floor sound was good. Bathrooms were tidy.
I love it every time I go to Zhou B Art center. It has 4 floors of beautiful artwork. The people are friendly.
This place is rad as heck! Huge open floor studio space on the first floor. Lots of really interesting artists studios on multiple other floors. Can’t wait to visit again.
What a beautiful gem of an art museum!! Quaint book store and theres a juice bar.
Went there for the Concha Fest 2020. First time and was not I expected. I dont think they represented the concha. I was hoping for a variety of tables and a variety of samples. There were 3 tables. Only cash, no debit card. Music was loud for the small venue. This event was pricey 10$ just to walk in a circle. I felt let down. The only plus was that there was plenty of free parking.
Was not sure what to expect when arriving at the Zhou B Art Center. Old restored buildings in Chicago are awesome for wedding receptions/parties. There is so much visual character and you kind of feel like you are at a speakeasy. The food was really really good. The only small problem .. everything in the building is concrete and sound never seems to end. During cocktail hour, guests needed to yell to be heard, because everyone talking at once was so loud and their voices were bouncing off the concrete. I think they should hang some decorative cloth on the ceilings to cut down on the sound echoes. Still .. nice, fun location!!Ray – The Connexion Band
OMG Dionne m is the best host in world great people who actually care about you
Talent flows on all 4 floors! And the special shows. See the (catalogue available) Curated Secondary Meanings: Figural Diptychs until July 16 2019 is museum quality space and presentation. international 37 artists. (Full disclosure_ I am in this exhibition *) artists are well presented thanks to PA Didi Menendez and Sergio Gomez.
This place is definitely a hidden treasure in Chicago. Tucked away inconspicuously on 35th street the art center has 5 floors of amazing local artists (maybe some who are not local?) displaying beautiful works of art. There seems to be shows here quite often and everything seems to be for sale. Most of the artists appear to provide some drinks and food to snack on while wondering around the huge warehouse building. I wish more people in Chicago knew about this place, it’s truly amazing for an art lover like myself.
Really cool space with 5 floors of artwork and a great juice bar/lounge
Great ambiance and layout for an event. We attended the James Beard gala there and the art work complemented the wonderful food.
WONDERFUL NEIGHBORHOOD. THE BRIDGEPORT,. PILSEN, AND BACK OF THE YARDS NEIGHBORHOODS PLAY A HUGE ROLE IN CHICAGO HISTORY.
I recently revisited this venue after not coming here for awhile. They are very well known for Wednesdays happy hour. Lots of fascinating characters still roam this place. The art is generally interesting. The DJs are very good. Interesting folks to talk to. Met this one attractive character that gave me a 15 minute monologue about why he enjoys his electric blanket than dealing with women. My pal and I toasted him for his creative monologue.
Amazing venue. Was there for a wedding. The art work was amazing!
Great place for a gathering and they have a juice bar friendly staff thinking about utilizing them
What an amazing space! Even with the upper floors being pretty toasty due to the summer heat, that didnt stop visitors from interacting with the amazing artists and their art work! I love it and will be back!
Great art work.
I like this venue. Lots of really awesome artwork throughout the place.
This is one of the citys great artistic treasures. I highly recommend it. The art is ever changing with fabulous city artists and every third Friday its a party. If you need an art piece for your home, office or just want to look.
What an amazing place to meet rising artists! I went on the third Friday evening, which is a free open-house, and I plan to be back just about every month I can!
I went to a political Gathering here when they were going for election mayor other political positions we had a rally there 4 candidates my son Marcus Elston and his organization had fundraisers for Manyi organizations he was in charge of the music and entertainment
Great place for events in Sox Land.
Great place I did a show here playing drum for charizma Entertainment company .
I went there to see the photo exhibit, 61 at 61. It was easy to find and parking was free close and plenty. The building was a great space for the exhibit and I enjoyed my time there
Curator Sergio Gomez and staff do a superhuman job programming interesting and engaging exhibitions consistently. Every 3rd Friday is an event, and there is always a sense of positive communal energy at work on the open studio nights. Its quick and easy to get to off the highway. A must-see.
Amazing artist. Lively vibe and great 3rd Friday events.
Fun to view the art on multiple floors. The art on the walls have room to breathe and to view. Parking next to the building. Easy to find. Worth going.
Nice art and good excercises as you climb the stairs.
Great Wedding Venue
3rd Friday of the month it’s a free Art Show and you can bring your own alcohol! Very cool and fun environment
Zhou B host great events. Zhou Brothers support many local and visiting artists. Monthly open house is particularly exciting and is an awesome way to become familiar your local artists.
Fantastic venue. Love the Friday events
This review strictly pertains to the facilities. Its a great space for private functions. Ive attended two corporate functions here. Tall ceilings, cool artwork and decently clean restrooms.
Great place for event or fest.....the one big detail I notice is that they do not have baby changer in the restrooms :( huge deal for moms like me during big events like the ones they host. Please remember that we (moms and babies matter).
Interesting art and neat event space. I miss having the Chicago Beer Society pub shootout here.
One of my favorite museums! A great cultural experience for all!
Fun and diverse art offerings.
Love this artist space which houses a lot of very good Chicago artists (my art teacher had a studio there). they have a very cool collection of art in the lobby (open to public and free) and also hosts an art show every month (3rd friday) where you can wine and dine while mingling with other art aficionados.
Awesome art, awesome artists, great building, amazing opportunities for artists!
My daughter and son- in- law got married at Zhou B on October 15, 2016. It was an amazing venue. The art work was beautiful, and Helen was wonderful to work with. Our guests all commented to us that the food was the best that they had eaten at a wedding, and the service was phenomenal. I would strongly recommend this venue to others.
Cool place for young artists.
This a VERY unique place. I went there for a wedding and it was pretty cool. The acoustic could have been a bit better, because the sound just bounced off the walls and it was a bit difficult to understand.
Great gallery. Sergio and Yamuna warmly welcome all who visit
Attended a wedding here - it was beautifully setup and well managed!
It is a great Art Center to go to for art and networking with artist. You can see what is new and trending in the arts. You meet people from all over the Chicago land areas. People are friendly and their is classes there also.
Really cool all floors
I went to a catered dinner at Zhou. The facility itself is clean and well lit with different types of art. Mostly paintings and some statues. Its easy to walk around and enjoy the art.I am unsure who catered the food, but it was a disappointment. This shouldnt reflect on Zhou. The gallery itself is good for an event and should be considered.
Beutiful event space
Great place for Events & Parties!!!
This Art Center is an art happening. Artists love being here. The owners know all their resident artists, and feature each on their website. Great event space, restaurant. One of the best high end art galleries in Chicago.
The monthly 3rd Friday events are always a blast! With four floors of art studios, its a one-stop night full of entertainment.
Fun place to go to see art studios, exhibits and socialize every third Friday.
Spacious studios and great artist. If youre ready to update your headshot contact Dean Reid Photography.
Wish they opened Sundays! This is where to be for open studios every month- 3rd Fridays are unbelievable! Zhou B does a SPECTACULAR job of presenting an array of diverse visual art, performance as well! With more than 4 floors of color in a beautiful space, an art lover will be in paradise.
Best Art Center in Chicago. Must see and enjoy 3rd Fridays events.
Attended a private party here and I enjoyed the venue very much. They have a nice bar area, it just feels really nice to be there. Their bathrooms are decent but they could be better, which is why I only gave it 4 stars.
Decent place for a wedding.
Fantastic artwork, fantastic community, fantastic events!
Art is on top here, really nice artists
This place is so New York in stylw. Great art show and the people and artist are wonderful.
This is an art center having various artists, I highly recommend visiting
A very nifty event space that keeps getting better every year. The Chicago Beer Society runs he brewpub shootout here each January, and over the last several years a cavernous and sometimes gloomy event space has transformed into a rather beautiful and well lit art gallery (and still event space). The building staff are helpful, pitching in where needed and supplying equipment such as ladders and extention cords as necessary. If youre thinking of hosting an event here, my advice would be to go for it. (posted by a past president of the Chicago Beer Society familiar with putting on an annual event in this space)
I had a bridal magazine shoot here last month and the staff was super caring to our needs on a fast pace day, we had about 30 people along with the catering and the set builders. The space is gorgeous and the management is friendly and attentive to details. I cant wait to photograph a wedding here! As a wedding photographer, I know its not easy finding an elegant, trendy and timeless venue for your wedding and luckily Tanya Hugill, the manager at Zhou B Art Center will guide you throughout their offering, ambiance and their fantastic catering menu!
As an Art centre it may be good, but as a wedding venue...esp for an Indian wedding...not so great.
I love this place, a superb art gallery that showcases numerous artists as well as the Zhou Brothers great works. Dont miss this place - third Friday is amazing
Needs more art
Nice place to hold your Special Event
Great art galleries
Great variety with 4 floors of artists and different design styles. They have a 3rd Friday where they are open later 5-10p great hot spot with drinks and music
Nice place to host an event
Beautiful space! The artwork is amazing. The second floor is beautiful.
Went here for a free Yelp Event and i love this art gallery. They have some very cool and unique paintings. Like any other art gallery there were art piece that made my laugh, think and get creeped out. What really set this place apart was their attached Cafe. The cafe is nice and cozy and their coffee was very good with delicious sweets.
Cool space. Lots of parking at night for big events.
Zhou B gallery is a dynamic multifaceted space. It features a variety of artists, young and established with a changing aesthetic month to month. With several floors of differing, yet somehow cohesive, displays its fairly difficult to grow tired of this space. Definitely not one to overlook, a one of a kind experience and a must-see for artists and art enthusiasts alike.
Great art shown for free
AMAZING!! Go find out for yourself at their 3rd Friday Open Studio for 5 floors of contemporary art!
Third Fridays are a must. Free and a great experience. Four floors of art and you can meet the artists and sometimes the founders
Unique gallery, the gem of Bridgeport.
