This place has a great lineup of regular events and some amazing live music. My favorite is the monthly performance by Doctor Death Crush (first Friday of each month) fronted by rock goddess and psychic dominatrix Violet, who also leads the weekly Wednesday open mic if memory serves.

This place gets my vote. Killer live music, especially on Mondays, and a cool crowd of open micers and jammers on non band nights. Also, monthly art shows, and comedy hours. You really cant go wrong. So go. Say hi if you see me.

Cool place, beautiful art, cheap drinks, 5 out of 6 bartenders are lovely. Patrons are as cool as a bunch of drunk folks can be. Tablet to order food inside that will work with your credit/debit card. $10 card minimum at the bar. Individual bathrooms. Comedy, poetry, open mics, and shows performed here. Its really loud near the stage.Dogs are allowed in and embraced.

Guess what? I got a new phone, and all my reviews didnt transfer, so Im back on level five as a so called local guide. But everything I said about the gallery still holds true. Drink specials, art shows, live music every night, lots of open mics, and a great crowd. The only downside is that service may be slow, and Kenny is well known for being a cheap mother fu☆☆er. But the free food on Sunday is great, and the salad is top notch, if youre not a meat eater. I highly recommend you make it out to this place. Put it on your bucket list.

I had the best time there! Drinks were good and good have to look for a long while to find a friendlier, more welcoming group of folks. I came in not knowing a soul and left feeling like I had a few new best friends. They pride themselves on being Chicagos best dive bar... I think they might be right.

Attended open mic comedy night and walked out after 10 minutes of misogynistic, pro-guns, anti-blacks jokes. Very unprofessional show. Low bar in general. With so many good improv spots I dont see a reason to come here.

Went for spoken word was had a regular bar feel rather than intimate setting nonetheless it was enjoyable time they have many events throughout a month so you can go if you just feel like going out to do something or want some free entertainment

Doesnt matter if its Tuesdays blues jam, Thursdays open Jam, or Sunday were they feed everyone for free with tune jamming in the background. Its my favorite spot in the city to hang. The gallery is one of the few places you can go in the city to hear live music pretty much 7 days a week. Ive seen some amazing music performances and Ive seen some of the most horrible music performances here. Drink ate cheap, atmosphere is fun they have tables setup up front by the stage. They have Booths in the back by the door area if you want privacy and then theres plenty of bar seating.

The bartender has been a bit pushy with me multiple times. If I say I don’t want another drink, please don’t attempt to peer pressure me into having another. It won’t work and it’s pretty tacky.

This place is underappreciated. I dont know how appreciated it is, really, but I bet its not enough. It just feels right there. The Gallery is unpretentious, entertaining, and cozy - thats a tough mix to find.

Total wild card of a local bar! Comedy and music shows are incredibly fun and they have great drink selection and prices. A little like the Star Wars Bar, a little like listening to your drunk uncle telling jokes at Thanksgiving all in the best way possible.

This bar plays host to the It Belongs in a Museum storytelling event. They have a broad selection of beers and good service even when the place is packed. The stage area has a separate section leaving a cozy amount of room between the main drag of the bar area and the audience area.

A free Sunday food buffet plus cheap drinks plus live music equals a perfect night! I just love this place!

I love the vibe whenever you walk into the Gallery Cabaret during a show, it feels like walking into someones living room while their band is practicing. There is a surprisingly large number of beers on tap and the bartenders are quick and helpful. Live entertainment 7 nights a week.

Stopped by last Sunday to rock with the House Band To my surprise, no house band but cool generous players come together. Host Texas Red helped me hook up with a drummer, Peter and a bass player, chris.guys followed me right along. We got a warm response. Went back on Tues for the full Blues Jam. This place has a really relaxed atmosphere. They have open mic all week and no cover charge. I listened to three great musicians while there for only about 2 hours. I will definitely come back.

This is the coolest place Ive found in all of Chicago (so far). Live music 7 nights a week; convenient to Logan Square, Wicker Park areas; friendly staff and management; a veritable magnet for scores of talented folks. I practically live here these days!
