One of my favorite coffee shops in Chicago. The oat milk latte is on point, service is great and I love the rotating art from local artists.
Great local place. Been coming here pretty regularly, during peak hours keep in mind there will be a bit of a wait and well worth it.
Spicy Bob Ross Sandwich was ️ Thank goodness I’m just visiting town or that would become a bad addiction. Highly recommend even during COVID they had great precautions and I felt safe!!
Super unimpressed. Muffins are insanely greasy and their white chocolate mocha was pretty bland and overall disappointing. Had high hopes based on other people’s reviews and more than likely won’t return.
Really great coffee, enjoyed the atmosphere, knowledgeable staff. They have lots of food in addition to coffee and tea options.
Super friendly staff. Delicious tea! Todays flavor was blueberry hibiscus. The had stevia for sweetener too!
Nice local spot. Be prepared to wait a bit if you get a sandwich. Worth it !
First, its NOT Starbucks. Support local. Their theme is art and, as such, one can purchase the art that is on display- another nice touch. The coffee is good and so are the art-themed sandwiches. Simply, a comfortable place to read, have a latte and lunch on a pastry or sandwich.
First off, you smell from blocks away the coffee. When I entered, I quickly realized that they roast there own coffee inside the shop which is amazingly different then your “average coffee shop.” The coffee taste was so fresh! I also had an amazing grilled chicken sandwich! The atmosphere was perfect and superb customer service. Definitely recommend Gallery Cafe!
One of the worst coffee experiences I have had in Chicago. They cancelled my order on the Joe Coffee app as I was walking in. By doing so charging my card 2x, 70 dollars was expensive for a day of coffee expenses even if 30 was being returned in a couple days. I had to re order all of the food and coffee, and it would have been alright if the coffee and food was good.... but all of the drinks were wrong. I didn’t know an iced americano had milk in it. The main issue is that I waited in the coffee shop as many of the other customers we served and addressed, I was not given information until I had waited for 45 minutes after prying the barista. Too much expended. I need coffee
TLDR : very comfortable, affordable and quality. The food is simple but very good. Options aren’t a problem as the menu is very accommodating. The drinks are good but nothing unique/different. In a lot of ways that’s good. I like a place where I know what to expect. The seating is slightly awkward but in a cute cozy way. There is way more than enough seating so finding a spot shouldn’t be an issue at all.I would love to see more art by more artists but that’s not a deal breaker for me.A++++++
Great stop in my morning routine! Delicious home roasted brew!
If anyone wants to know what this area used to be like before it became more established, go here. I usually dont hang out in Wicker Park anymore because my life has changed, but I spent a lot of time here several years ago, basically around the time this place started. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is relaxed and creative. They also didnt seem to mind that I spent a lot of the afternoon here doing different stuff. This place really captures what the city used to be, in a good way.
Good coffee. Great street views. Art on the wall. Quiet. Free WiFi. Tiny restroom. Raggedy seating. Pretty standard coffee shop. Wasnt blown away, but it did the job.
Prices a touch on the upper side, but beans are fresh, coffee smooth, friendly service, if im in the area ill stop by again no problem
First of all they roast their own coffee beans. Again, they roast their own coffee. Previously visited for coffee and a few weeks later for a Sofar show. The staff is very friendly and the patrons are too.
Amazing atmosphere. Cozy local place, tucked in a heart of the city. Ive visited an art show hosted by Mrs. Gordana whos pictures just made this place even better!
Get the Claudel! So very good!
I love this spot! It’s one of my favorite places to drop in for a snack, smoothie(Power Monkey), and some reading on the weekends.
The staff was very friendly and personable. I ordered the Kahlo breakfast burrito and it was cooked perfectly. Small, cozy atmosphere, so not a large seating selection, but highly recommended for a quick stop or a sit down when there isn’t a crowd.
Pretty standard coffee place. Its very nice to just go and work no one bothers you at all. Better atmosphere than Starbucks in my opinion.
Stopped here for a quick lunch. The wait was a little longer than I would have wanted (maybe 10 to 15 minutes for a toasted sandwich), but it was quite good, as was the latte. I didnt stay long, but it had a nice, artsy atmosphere as well. There were a few people there working on laptops and it seemed like a good place to do so.
Love this spot. Go ALL the time.
Art-supported quality coffee shop with a cozy work environment and friendly staff.
Good coffee. Friendly staff.
Been to Gallery a bunch of times. Whether meeting for work, or just popping in for a quick cup of coffee (and their freshly roasted coffee is always delicious) Im always greeted at the door with a smile which is refreshing. In addition to the coffee I really enjoy the sandwiches (The Monet is my go to). Rotating artwork pieces keeps this place fun and entertaining. Cant wait for the patio to open up!
Nice place, nice decoration, friendly staff
First of all they roast their own coffee beans. Again, they roast their own coffee. Previously visited for coffee and a few weeks later for a Sofar show. The staff is very friendly and the patrons are too.
Gallery Cafe has lovely ambiance, a fantastic space, great staff, amazing food and world-class coffee. Abled people are strongly encouraged to eat here! For the disabled: the counter is too high for wheelchair users to reach and the café is up an external step. After the external step the interior is all accessible, with no less than seven (!!) tables that are at wheelchair height, an unusual quantity for a restaurant, especially a small café. Were there an available ramp, it would be a great place for wheelchair users to eat.The menu is all written on the walls and there is no large print paper version available; the tea menu is in size 8-10 font on paper without high contrast and virtually illegible. They sell pastries from the day before for $1, a good price for poorer patrons who need to get inside. Were Gallery Cafe more friendly to disabled customers, it would be one of the best coffeeshops in Chicago.
Good food and low prices with a chill atmosphere. Doesn’t “try to hard” like many other places in the area. Love that they are proponents and a vector to display local art and music. Staff is always genuine and friendly!
I went here on a weekday to do some school work. The barista made a great london fog! The music wasn’t too loud, which I appreciated. I was able to concentrate/ read. The atmosphere is a bit cold inside, but other than that it’s a great little spot!
This is my fave office - the OKeefe sandwich is my go to.
Good food, good prices, good service
Oh my how this is da spot.......bar none.... One needs not ask why especially when it comes down to what youre looking for in a exuberating fix love it
Awesome coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Also open for lunch. All the sandwiches are named after famous painters and the plates are cute ceramic palettes.
First time being there. I enjoyed the vibe real chill and relaxing good food. Ill definitely be back.
Good place, not great. Coffee is alright, maybe above average. Service is a little slow. The almond Croissant tastes good but its hard and a little dry on the inside. Not a bad place to ha d out to have a quick pastry with coffee.
Nice cafe to meet and collaborate with others. Its even a great space to go to when you need some space to work. Great smoothies!
I love this place. Best Americano out of all coffee shops in Chicago. They have a different way of roasting their beans that give it a great flavor. They also have quite a good selection of sandwiches. Highly recommend it and they often have art nights. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
Really cute, small cafe with touches of sweet art like a palette clock
Power monkey drink smoothie thing was delicious!! Cool little spot!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Great coffee, the best staff, and a charming interior. The coffee rotates when the beans run out providing an opportunity to try coffee from different parts of the world. The best part? Finally coffee that doesnt give me heart burn.
Great people very nice and comfy place to chill or do some work.
Kadinsky breakfast sandwich was good. Drip coffee was fine. They have some plates that looked like painting pallettes, which is charming.
Nice place to visit that got things you might be looking for
Coffee was good, also had a breakfast burrito with sausage that was excellent. Nice neighborhood coffee shop.
The quality of the food is really mediocre. Be aware that nothing here is fresh. Regardless of how good it sounds on the menu, every ingredient was pretty low quality. The service is extremely slow as well. I arrived at 5:43 with an appointment at the nearby Windy Kitty Cafe (which cant actually serve food/drink). There were three people in line ahead of me. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and between waiting in line and waiting for the food, I didnt receive it until 6:04. That just seems like an exceptionally long wait for a quick bite that isnt even fresh or made in a kitchen.
mango smoothie and frosted doughnut. Cozy place. Roasted coffee while we were there.
Good food and atmosphere
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop! Perfect roasted coffee, very friendly staff and great sandwich. They also have great events and promte very talented local artist.
Cute, cozy coffee shop. Quickly became one of my favorites when I was in Bucktown
My days usually consist of coming something at FedEx and getting a bagel or breakfast sandwich from this place
Great place for egg sandwiches all day!
Got the Rothko. Was delicious and a good choice, I just wish I had known that the herbs they steeped it in were still at the bottom of the cup, or that they strained it would be even better. The bagel was a little pricey and also a little burnt around the edges, but otherwise good.
This place has really turned around under the new management, the coffee used to be burnt and sad but now its really good! The roaster that greets you when you enter makes for a great atmosphere. The art exhibitions that have started here are also great, good selection of work and the artist talk was a blast.
Great sandwiches and coffee, hipster vibe
This quaint cafe may just be one of the kept secrets of Chicago. I stumbled on this Cafe one day & was pleasantly pleased with the atmosphere, the service and the coffee is outstanding. From the first visit, Im drawn to this cafe everytime I visit the area. The baristas make an amazing cup of coffee far better than the big coffee chains. There are times they may have a local performer play which is a nice addition when sipping coffee. However, today I tried the food and once again this cafe exceed expectations. I wish this cafe all success you guys have earn a positive review. We need places like yours.
My favorite coffee shop in Chicago!!
Great place for excellent coffee and tea. Delicious sandwiches. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place to work alone or meet with others.
I live close by so I go here a lot on my way to the blue line. Good espresso and great service. They roast their coffee in house, and it is fun to watch when the air roaster is fluffing the beans. There are outlets available and free WiFi. They also occasionally host art/music nights after hours featuring local musicians and artist.
Solid coffee shop, but could do with some expanded lunch offerings besides sandwiches
A real coffee shop. Good stop
It had good but simple food. Great coffee as well.
Great breakfast sandwiches to go. The iced Kona coffee was delicious. I told the cashier that I was driving all the way to Sioux Falls, SD that day and he packed me extra napkins and wished me a safe trip when I left. Nice people in a nice place.
Awesome vibe and food
Went here three days in a row, it was the closest place to my AirBnB for coffee. The coffee was good but was self serve and reminded me of a pouring my own coffee at a gas station. The coffee selection didnt include descriptions of the coffees and were only listed by name. I like places that describe their coffees so I know what to expect in terms of flavour and strength. The sandwiches that I had were well thought out and tasty, however Im fairly certain the bacon on one of my sandwiches was microwaved. The only thing that really put me off about the place was the staff who were not very lively at all. They gave a minimum amount of service but nothing more.
A little expensive and takes a while, just love the food and coffee.
Great atmosphere. Go with a custom-made drink over the drip.
Cute cafe where local art is shown and sold. They roast their own beans!
Super friendly staff and overall creative atmosphere!!
I used to be a full time resident here in wicker Park neighborhood but now that Im currently living in the suburbs I come here at least twice or three times a month just to relax after doing errands. In the past six months I even managed to fall in love with two unique pieces of art that were part of this gallerys installation. If you want to come here for a special event you can actually purchase art lessons here and the gallery curator will provide you art materials so you can create your own unique masterpiece if you wish the coffee is always creative and this weeks theme of course is Valentines latte with amerreto. There are doughnuts, really great sandwiches made here on the premises and a super efficient, fun loving staff. I especially commend Joey for always being so genuinely caring and knd hearted! Thanks for being a welcoming Hangout in wicker park
Nice, cozy, local coffee shop. Good coffee and warm ambience
The employees here are great, they were clearly going the extra mile to be accommodating. Very chill cafe with delicious drinks and sandwiches.
Good coffee. Very friendly employees. Cool artwork that rotates on the walls and events for the artists.
Great food. Great coffee. Great service
Note: This is an honest review from someone with no real bias or attachment to this establishment. This coffee shop is close to a bus stop I use everyday so I frequently go here. This coffee shop is by no means a bad coffee shop but its not necessarily good either. The coffee is pretty good and the food is ok. I ordered the Riveria sandwich and really enjoyed it. Some of the breakfast sandwiches werent nearly as tasty. Its just really your standard coffee shop. As far as food goes I prefer to get bagels down the street at Brobagel. If I have time I usually go to wormhole instead for coffee(a short walk away on Milwaukee ave).Probably the best thing about this cafe is that it is very quiet. I would suggest a visit here if you are trying to escape the hectic city for a little bit. Seating is limited though. All in all. Its a not a bad place to stop for a cup of coffee if youre in the area.
Nice coffee and sandwich shop with a fun art theme. Food was great!
A quiet little cafe in bustling Wicker Park. Nice place to get a coffee and bagel.
A quaint coffee joint with more character than all the Starbucks in Wicker Park, this coffee joint is the just the spot for those looking to hunker down and solve a crossword with a quad espresso, reconnect with an old friend over a scrumptious breakfast sandwich or simply to grab a coffee and go.The uniqueness of this establishment can be seen in the coffee roaster that abides in the center of the shop and whose faint sound of coffee beans jumbling around can be heard in partnership with soothing music heard frequently on the Coffee House Sirus XM channel.Highly recommend this corner coffee café to anyone mozzing around Wicker Park.
Great local coffee shop that toast their beans on site.
Its a decent hole in the wall with coffee and pastries.
Food and service were good, but I didnt like my decaf Americano
Great atmosphere to enjoy tea with friends or just to relax and read the newspaper. I highly recommend this place!
I like this cafe, but its a little loud (the music is a little loud). I like to come here to work sometimes and its hard to focus.
THE BEST cappuccino I had!! Their service and the place is also great!
A great place to grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Theres free wifi and a few tables to relax, study or do some work. If its under $5, beware - cash only.
They roast their own beans here and its better than Starbucks and intellicencia in overall flavor.
