Its bright and spacious. The lobby is okay. If they havent already the female bathroom could use a touch up. The drinks could be stronger. The prices definitely need to be lower. They closing time says 2:30am on Saturday but they are forcing you out by 1:45am. Free parking lot
One of my family members had a party there last week and the service was horrible. Mr. G took her money and did not provide the services that she paid for. We came with a team of 50 people to clean that place and he just collected the money. She brought all her own decorations and she just asked him for table cloths and chair covers but they were filthy and they had food on them, so bad that we could not even use most of them. He doesnt even own a vacuum cleaner to clean up with. There were a million gnats, the glasses were not washed, and his staff was caught stealing. He and his staff were very disrespectful because they felt that they had to do too much work and the event was too over the top. He told my aunt, If she wanted all of that, she shouldve rented a place downtown. It was truly a shame because after spending a ton of money trying to support black business and bringing over 400 people to his establishment, Mr. G acted downright nasty and disrespectful. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!
I had my wedding reception here. The decorations were great but the food,Dj services and sound systems were horrible. Our entrance song and all other music was messed up. I could never speak to the Dj before the event, it was always an excuse. I was told to not worry everything would be fine and it wasnt. The food service was off,my guest had to get up to help serve food. This was truly embarrassing which resulting in them ruining my wedding reception. This was in 2015. A year and a half later people are still talking about this to me! I would not suggest having something as special as a wedding reception here, they have rental space so maybe a birthday party or something that you can provide the catering and entertainment yourself.
A quick background of myself, Im from Naperville and am Indian. I was invited to a coworkers birthday party here, and at first I had my concerns. I saw that its in Southside of chicago, and being the ignorant suburban guy that I am, I thought for sure I would end up dead or get my car stolen. Furthermore, i thought this place would be dirty and rundown; however, I was wrong. They have a parking lot, so you dont have to worry about street parking, and the inside was a nice banquet room. The cash bar I thought was pricey; charging equal to or even more than the clubs of posh clubs of downtown. Other than that, no complaints. Overall, if you are worried about your safety, dont be. You will most likely survive and have a good time.
