Incredibly beautiful and well kept. It would make a lovely spot for a picnic. Certainly worth the stop. Very picturesque and a good photo opportunity place.

Reasonably well maintained historic home owned by Missouri Gov. Bates in 1850. Unfortunately the interior is only open on occasions, but its quite interesting. The grounds include the home, the separate kitchen building and several outbuildings.

We walked the 1.8 mile trail. Although we were in the city it seems that youre out in the forest. The loop is mixed gravel, dirt & paved.

Cool history with house, outbuildings & cemetery to boot. Just find it all so interesting!

This is a nicely maintained home of Frederick Bates, Governor of Missouri in the 1820s. Tours are offered occasionally and are worth it if you have the time, as the house has some interesting history. The staff are clearly passionate about the house and eager to share its story with anyone who is interested.

Very nice park with a playground and short hiking trail. Butterfly house is located here along with the old carousel. The trail isnt difficult and its well maintained. Very scenic.

The Botanical gardens surrounding Thornhill are stunning - it is the old governors mansion for Louisiana purchase!

Beautiful venue to host an outdoor wedding if the weather is good and you have electric.

The 3 Ladies & a gentleman volunteers were a great wealth of knowledge. Thank you, we learned quite a bit about our new home state today. The Lady demonstrating the spinning was the best! What a treasure she is!
