Bought markers and colored pencils for school this year, my daughter was thrilled to get to pick out individual colors to make up her set of Stabilo markers. Cant wait to come back and get some gel pens, they have a great selection of sets and individual pens.We had to focus on the school art supplies this time but they also have canvases, paints, frames, all kinds of stuff (and they do custom framing too).P.S. if you are like me and are always stressed about where to park, there is a nice parking lot right behind the building.
Great art store. Good prices and selection. Fun to shop and great staff.
My friend, who is a professional illustrator and owns her own business, and I stopped in while we were visiting because I frequent the one by Hamilton Place. The entire time we had someone following us and watching as we went down every aisle, simply because of the way we were dressed (black pants, band shirts, black denim vests covered in band patches.) This sort of behaviour when we are talking quite normally about different mediums and what were going to be purchases made us leave because we noticed this hovering. She was hoping to pick up some new inks for washes, but not after that blatant judging upon appearance that we might steal something because of how we dress. I get watching sketchy people, but that was not the first time it has happened to us (or just me) in that store, despite having spent money there in the past. That was the last straw. We will not be giving them our money ever again, and maybe try to not judge people by their looks right off the bat next time.
I am thoroughly disgusted with this place. I just left the store after walking around for about 10 to 15 minutes and not once did anyone even make their presence known to me or ask me if I needed help. I honestly thought the store was empty. Within seconds of another customer walking in the girl literally tripped over herself asking if he needed help and just looked at me and didnt say anything. My daughter has an audition at a prestigious art school in Atlanta and I was ready to spend coin to get her portfolio together. Will never step into this establishment again but at least I got good ideas of products to buy off of Amazon.
The place was great! Inspired me durring my art block, and helped me get back into the swing of things! You may not have Caliart markers, but hey! It was an amazing experience nonetheless!
Needed a few things for one of my art class. Asked a worker where something was 2 times. i couldn’t find it so i went back a 3rd time and asked. they rolled their eyes and walked me to it and without saying a word, pointed to it and walked off.
Very helpful staff and wide variety of supplies
Not a place for potters. But, If you like picture frames, canvases, and paint supplies this little shop might be the place for you.
Called and asked if they were hiring and the lady who answered was extremely rude. All she said was, “Mmm, no.” then hung up. They need to have a better team if they want a good image.
Great prices in a family owned business, everyone is always super helpful and friendly
Bought my first canvas from tony at 13. Great place
Great customer service and reasonable prices
Owners are often at the store to greet customers. Every artists dream store. I stand in the pen aisle and breath in the atmosphere. Its my happy place
A very nice shop and the staff was friendly also
I love this place, they have a huge selection, especially considering the size. You can find everything from student grade paints, colored pencils, and watercolour to professional grade versions as well as inks, pigments and a large variety of papers and materials. The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and always dedicate a lot of their time to help you locate what you are looking for and share there information with you. They have convenient parking in the back and offer framing services as well.
I get all my art supplies here. Great prices and everything a professional artist could want. Plus, the help is very kind.
Best selection of art supplies in Chattanooga. I can get the good stuff (not the cheap junk that chain stores sell) without having to order and pay shipping. Lots of sizes of stretched canvas, papers, brushes and pens, etc. Too much to list. Love it!
Watercolor paints
For the casual consumer of art-making supplies, the prices are very competitive with national online retailers, and the experience of holding the products before committing to a purchase is invaluable. I cannot, for example, imagine shelling out $30-50 on a fat oil brush without stroking the bristles myself; I can do that at Art Creations, and I cannot do it online. Add in that the staff knows whats up and the space itself is amazing and labyrinthine, and I could not hope for a better local art supply store.
Super helpful people, great service, and they have nearly everything I need
Tony Mines operates a wonderful business in a genuine, friendly caring style. Thats why were long time satisfied customers!!
Always been a great store with helpful and friendly service. They have a huge variety of art supplies plus custom framing. They have awesome local artists who instruct classes also.
Nice place. Friendly service.
Very nice people. Did a reasonably good job on framing a picture. The end product was nice. Did a less than stellar job listening to what I wanted. Probably a little over priced. Not prompt on service and pretty disorganized.Did a fair job. Probably would not go back
Steps in the front and back of store, not baby stroller friendly at all BUT had exactly what I was looking for.
This is the best art supply house in Chattanooga.
They have everything here!
Thanks
