The best right by it is an archery range
Friendly gentlemen helped me out, I was renting a Penske. I wish I had time to go through the museum, but the quick look I took looked fascinating!
I saw more Corvairs than Ive ever seen in one place. The Yenko was awesome! Well worth the visit.
Very interested, nice to go back in time once in awhile
What a great collection of cars.
The Corvair Museum consists of 9,000 square feet of floor space with vehicles, mechanical displays, literature, and artwork pertaining to the history of the Chevrolet Corvair. On display are factory-stock Corvairs, customized Corvairs, and Corvairs built for racing. Powertrains exhibits are also on display, including a cut-away Corvair Spyder engine and a very rare experimental Corvair engine designed by General Motors engineers. When you visit us, you’ll see the 1960 Super Monza – a special Corvair coupe built for Bill Mitchell, GM’s then-Vice President of Styling. It was a hit on the 1960 auto show circuit and led to Chevrolet’s decision to add the Monza to the Corvair model line up. We also have the next-to-last Corvair to roll off the assembly line . Where is the last one? Nobody knows. It hasn’t been seen since it was built on May 5, 1969!Most of our exhibits are permanent, but others are on loan. Examples include the Bill Thomas / Doug Roe racer that conquered Pikes Peak, a Yenko Stinger that was successfully campaigned in SCCA racings, and at least one land-speed record Corvair. Our collection continues to expand, so drop by for a visit!
