Lots of free fun for the children

I wish the picnic area wasnt always filthy -- needs a regular power washing. Otherwise beautiful and family friendly!

First time going to this park. Very clean and easy to find. Only downside is that there is only street parking so get there early or plan to walk a little bit. Two nice pavilion areas for parties or socializing. The playground is well maintained. Nice basketball court and a beautiful grassy area next to the splash area shaded by trees. Highly recommend this park especially for families with small kids.

The park is ok, kids to bored pretty quickly. The surrounding hills and trail kept them entertained for hours though, just running up and down, rolling balls down, digging in the mud.

It’s March and they are working on the water area ... could be really nice in the summer.

Loved the splash park, adults and kids. We had a picnic under the pavilion which was nice. I would bring your own garbage bags, they were quite full, so people littered. They do have bathrooms there also.

Today is a 70° day so I decided to enjoy some quiet time @ the park with my son

The grandchildren are having an Awesome and Fantastic time! More cities should have a park and free waterpark for the children. My grand sons really enjoyed the basketball court!

Great place for the kids to enjoy themselves. Water park area during the summer is fantastic.

This park is really nice. Lots of shade from large oaks. In a few years even the two playgrounds will be in the shade. The spray park is showing some age with some broken features but my mine year old still had a blast. Note that the website says it opens at 6am this must be the park in general. Google says it opens at ten but the water wasnt turned on this wed till 10:40am so you may want to not go there first thing. Still a wonderful experience

Love this place! The splash park is great and the play ground equipment is perfect for bigger and smaller kids. Two very large covered areas and bathrooms. There is also a large basketball court at the bottom of the hill.

Kids loved it, so family friendly recommend for all ages.

This is one of our favorite spots in the summer! The splash pad is really fun & the whole park is kept very clean! We have so much fun here. Plenty of spaces to picnic & spread out. And, there’s a BIG hill between the park and the road, which makes it harder for kiddos to run out into the street!

Im not sure if I liked the forest or the hills more.

Its is a fantastic park best of all it is free. Plenty of things to do for children of all ages one of the nice things is we had a picnic in the grass and there are large shaded trees that provide a lot of shade when its really hot outside. of course theres a spray park with all kinds of fun things with kids absolutely wonderful. top of that theres a huge pavilion and a lot of people have birthday parties there so we heard. there is also a public restroom access. missionary there is a fantastic playground toddler playground and older kids playground it is wonderful because the ground is bouncy and soft so nobody can really get hurt I hate the mulch that gets in the kids shoes. this place is fantastic my two-year-old had a blast and so did all his cousins ages 10 and under. You will not regret checking this place out it is free. My only complaint would be it is in a bad part of town off cherry ave I

One of the best small parks Ive been to. Kids had a great time in the splash pad. They have a couple playground sets, with something for everbody. Basketball court. Only thing bad was the bathroom is in bad shape

Forest Hills Park is such a great neighborhood park with plenty of room to run around. It has something for everyone!

Awesome! We are from TX and thought we were going to a typical park. They have a splash area great for any age. Two playgrounds for 2 different age groups. Basketball area, picnic area. Plus beautifully clean and green.

Love walking here with my family and dogs. I love the trees. Almost gave 4 stars simply because some patrons leave disgusting trash (use your imagination) or broken bottles. After daylight hours I believe its not so nice.

Always a blast to take the kiddo to, no matter what time of year. Both the splash park and the playground are excellent. Especially with the playground divided into age groups.

We love it but we like mostly the water park and saw its been black off....hope they can get it fixed soon!

We attended our grandsons 7th birthday party at Forest Hills Park on Sat, June 16th. The park is great! The splash pad is perfect and the kids had a great time. Our problem was that one family was monopolizing every table under the free-use pavilion. Our party relocated to 3 different areas of the pavilion to accommodate the other party. Someone in our party brought their own table, thank goodness. Our food was set up on that. It was hot and we wanted to be able tp sit down in the shade too. It wasnt courteous or fair for the other party to not share the space. We ate and fed the kids while standing in a small corner of the pavilion while another group monopolized all six tables. It was ridiculous! They had music blaring, brought their own grill and had multiple cases of beer on several tables. There are signs posted, prohibiting alcohol. I finally sat down at the table closest to where we were all standing. The other party kept trying to make me get up and force us to leave. One of them told another person in our group that we should leave because the music they planned to play was not suitable for children. At a childrens park??? Then they crowded us and all lit cigarettes and blew the smoke towards us, including the person holding a sleeping infant. It was frustrating and ridiculous. When we were trying to sing happy birthday, they were screaming in the background and blasted their music to overpower us singing. Way to ruin a 7 year olds birthday party. My husband is a former CPD officer and he finally got them to agree to let us have one table. He also arranged for CPD to raid the party after we left. Who brings alcohol and inappropriate music to a childrens playground? Such a shame, since the park is so nicely done.

I love going to that park its a lot of fun.

Great park, splash (spray) park is great and lot of space, he bad thing about this park is that​ there is not good shade and the play ground get really hot do to the material the floor is made of if you like diversity also you will find it in this park, this is special in this state.RECOMMEND !!!

This is a very nice areas of Charlottesville.

Spray ground. Free admission. Huge shade trees and shelters. Lacking a star because there is some spray ground equipment that is no longer functioning, was hoping to see them repaired for the 2018 season.
