Historic building with great ACOUSTICS to hear a live band and a large wooden floor thats fun to dance on. Large lobby allows guests to talk and be heard away from the stage. Cozy but not formal.A large parking lot and a catering kitchen downstairs. Entrance is stairless and easier for those with mobility challenges.Tonight we heard a concert w Blue Highway band, organized by The Front Porch music school. We have been here for dances, wedding receptions, USO shows, and benefit concerts too.Outside in the back is an olympic size pool for swim teams and lap swimmers and two smaller shallow pools for children, picnic area, tennis court, volleyball and snack bar.

Out of town visitor. Loved the saltwater pools, Olympic size pool, the grass lawn, and the band. Perfect day at the pool. Quintessential Charlottesville. Loved it.

Good place to chill while at the pool. We like it because it is one of the only pools with an extensive shady seating area in town. The beach volleyball court and ping pong table are nice too and there are nice tables to sit at if you want to eat.Memberships are pricey though.

Our family love this pool! For me, the shade from the old growth hardwood trees allowing all day hang out without getting burned up is the bomb. Add a cafe serving cold beer, and this father of three found his summer hang out! Great way to meet locals. The swim team has been fantastic for the kids. Cant wait for next season!

Our entire family loves the beach club! What a special place with special people! We spend our summer afternoon and evenings at the pool and have made some great friends through the years. Our children are on the swim team - Go Dolphins! We love hanging out poolside after work and camp and often times pack a picnic dinner or grab a bite at the cafe just to extend the day. We have also enjoyed using the club house in the off-season to host our daughters birthday party, a retirement party and a preschool fundraiser. FSBC is a wonderful community!

Kids and I were here on Thursday 7/27. The smaller pools had dirt, grass and bark from mulch in the water. Not cool seeing little kids swimming with DIRT.The net used to CLEAN the pool was just thrown haphazardly on the lawn where people can trip over it. Is there a reason why these pools were dirty??? Dont they CLEAN THE POOLS DAILY?BUT THE LAP POOLS WERE CRYSTAL CLEAR.I also noticed the lifeguards are too busy chewing gum and talking to each other, ARENT THEY SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING SWIMMERS?I was surprised to see the condition of the building. How much do members PAY to belong? Id be disappointed in what my money is paying for.The snack bar is great, BUT it takes FOREVER to get the food for as many people standing behind the counter.Wish to see these improvements, but at this moment I doubt it.

My great uncle owned Frys Spring when I was growing up. My Uber driver used to perform there so he took me there, off the clock.

Youll feel like youve taken a step back in time to good old fashioned family fun! And the only place where you can find shade AND a pool. Love it!

Lovely view and wonderful accommodations. The waiter was unwilling to accommodate any requests on the food (and was unwilling to ask the kitchen). May or may not go back.

This place is great, weve been members for years. The swim team is wonderful--all the kids in our neighborhood participate and walk over to the pool for practice, meets, and fun. This is a very old school pool facility--trees, grass, with three pools in the sun. No concrete jungle here, also has tennis courts, beach volleyball, and a snack bar with bar. This place is a neighborhood institution, glad to be a part of it.

Cool historic swim club in the heart of Charlottesville. Combination of huge shade trees, lots of grassy areas for kids to play and three pools make this club really unique.

Such a great neighborhood/community pool. Our kids learned to swim at FSBC, as have many generations in Charlottesville. The pools were redone in 2016 and look great. Great place for families! Come check it out!

We have been going to Frys Spring Beach Club for over 10 years and actually moved into the neighborhood to be closer to the pool. The club is indeed from an era gone by and few places like it exist ... anywhere. There are three great pools: a baby pool, a mid-sized play pool and a full 50 meter lap pool. You can bring your newborn and relax under a canopy of trees, your toddler and be assured that many eyes are on him/her, your tween and give them some freedom to roam, and your teenager for a healthy age-appropriate, diverse group of peers. Add to it a vibrant community of open-minded, intelligent, engaged adults who are friendly and civic-minded. Lastly, if you are looking for a swim-team that focuses on skills-development in a friendly but healthy competitive environment, there is no better in the city. Often the winner of the sportsmanship award, FSBC is also perennially in the top tier of teams and is usually coached by a cadre of amazing present and former UVA swimmers. While there are cheaper options (and maybe some with more amenities), FSBC is well worth the admission and will leave you with the satisfying sense of connecting with a tradition in Charlottesville that is like no other.
