I really like this place! You can drive right up and walk on a court. It is small enough to be friendly and personable and the owner is always willing to help you find a match. And the new indoor clay courts are going to be the bomb.

Blakeney Racquet club is a great place to play tennis and be with friends. My husband and look forward to our time on the court with our friends. The Tennis is competitive and fun. Many of the teams go to States, and sometimes to nationals. The cafe is a great place to grab a bite or drink and relax, again with friends. Try it. You’ll like it.

We joined Blakeney Racquet Club a week after we moved to Charlotte and it was the best decision we made for our family and our kids. My son wants to be there whenever he can and I always know that he is safe and with people that care. Berhe is a friend, a coach and a mentor all in one:) We love to spend time at the club playing tennis, or simply just hanging out with great friends. The coaches are all amazing. They are all different and yet they complement each other beautifully. My son’s Tennis has never been better and he seems to improve every day. The coaches always want to hear from him what he feels he needs help with, and they address those needs immediately whether in private lessons or in the group clinics. An all around great tennis and swim club!

The league tennis activity is great at every skill level. A good number of us play in multiple leagues here. Also, the swim team community is awesome too. Been here since 08. Would not want to go anywhere else.

Excellent venue to socialize, exercise, network, play tennis, racquetball, swim, reserve the banquet room for a special event, or enjoy a refreshment in the Serve it Up Lounge after a match. I have been a member for 5 years and play on multiple leagues and have made a lot of new friends in the process. The owner and pros are all very friendly and have tailored various packages to fit our needs. You dont have to have any tennis skills to join this club. My wife was a beginner but they still found a spot for her. With that said, if you have a budding tennis star, this a great place for clinics, lessons, all in a positive encouraging environment. My child plays tennis here and participates in clinics and leagues. Another aspect I enjoy appreciate about this club is the diverse membership base. Its great!

Blakeney is a great club conveniently located in south Charlotte close to many new neighborhoods that have young families. They offer a good mix of adult and junior tennis programs for all ages and all levels of play. There are always opportunities to get active at Blakeney, even when the weather isnt great by using the gym, racquetball courts or covered swimming pool.

Blakeney Club is a swim and racquet club for members only. This is a great place to be a member. They have a pool, lots of tennis courts, the only red clay courts in the state I believe, work out room with machines and weights, parents night out events, special events, a cafe with drinks and coffee and more! Very clean and staff is always friendly and helpful.

We signed up in November for a basic family membership. They charged $90 per month and only allowed us to use the equipment with no free classes unlike YMCA. The equipments quality is not good at all and even stopped working for many days. They also have an exorbitant initiation fee of $300. Due to all this, we tried to stop our membership after just 3 months. When we tried to stop the membership, they had terrible customer service and were extremely rude. They have no interest in actually providing any value for your money other than the basic equipment. YMCA has much more value for the same amount of money with 100 times better customer service.

The coaches and staff at Blakeney are amazing ! Coach Berhe and his team bring out the best in their junior tennis trainees ... teaching not only skills for the game ; but sportsmanship, discipline and how to be a team player. Best club, all around : Blakeney Raquet and Swim Club!

Since joining Blakeney Racquet & Swim Club about 2 1/2 years ago, my love of tennis has resurfaced. This is easily attributed to the staff, pros and fellow members being committed to creating an atmosphere of fun across all levels of competitiveness. The environment is very social and meeting and making new friends has been easy. My kids have quickly taken to the game and are more than willing participants, especially during warmer weather when we all enjoy the large pool and waterslides. This summer the kids will be returning to attend a few sessions of summer tennis camp.>> Jordan Losen

My daughter swam there for the first time on MSA swim team that utilizes this facility. She stated that the water tasted like vinegar and was sick for the next 3 days. We notified the coaches at MSA about this issue. They said they would do a water test. Heard nothing about the results.

Our family has been long time members of this club ever since we moved to this area and we love this place. If you have a love for the game of tennis, or even if you are just starting out, BRC is a great place to be. Great location, good friends, and a family atmosphere to play and learn tennis for the entire family. They also have two racquet ball, covered swimming pool, work out facility, spa and bar area with theater room where we get to watch grand slam games with a group of like minded friends over a few drinks. They have also added more courts this spring. With the addition of the new courts it will not be hard to get a court to play when you need one. You can play on hard court, green clay and even red clay. I recently visited a few friends in CA and realized how lucky we are to get play in clay courts around here.Coaches are great and take pride in teaching the sport. They offer lessons through out the year for every age group and player level, even if you are a beginner. Also the after school program is fantastic. The owner is very friendly and involved in the day to day operations and it shows.Lots of league play opportunities available and you can easily find people to play in any level. USTA, Interclub, Queen City, Mixed Doubles are all available. Also they have well co-ordinated social play events where members take lead roles in organizing small groups on different days of the weeks and weekends to get together and play. Its a fun way to meet new members and make new friends. We have made so many good friends here and do keep in touch with them even after they move out of this area.So if you live in this area and looking for a good family friendly place to enjoy the sport and be active, look no further.
