The park has you wear a ton of gear that isn’t on the website would not recommend unless you have elbow and knee pads. It’s also very compact.
Fun park for my 8 year-old son. We ended up there on a fairly busy day and the staff were great and all the other kids there were very behaved and nice. There were some sketchy people in other areas of the complex, like the man walking through the playground on his cellphone yelling and cursing at someone on the other end of the line, within earshot of all the kids there, including the young boy walking with him, but you cant expect completely classy behavior in this part of town. Overall a good experience, just dont go too late and be aware.
Not a big deal no swings kinda rusty skate park included just a quick stop for little kids to burn some energy...
Well 2 months ago I came to this skatepark expecting to have fun at my first time at a skatepark, unfortunately they were closed and said they weren’t opening back up until phase 3, today is the start of phase 3 at 5pm. I will go to this skatepark fully expecting to skate and have fun. I made a review when i first went and wasn’t aloud. But deleted it because i knew i made it out of pure anger, this is just to prove that they said once phase 3 starts they will open up. So i better be aloud to go skate
The facility is like new, inside & out. Large Basketball gym inside and large matted court outside; add a large Tennis court, huge awesome Skate park plus a childrens playground.Inside has function rooms for many types of activities and community functions (even Birthdays & Baby Showers). The staff is well trained, friendly and helpful.
HEADS UP!!! They are NOT OPEN right now!!!! They told me they have had no time to update the website. Wow!!!!
Decent skatepark because that is the only one In Charlotte. the elbow and knee pads are required plus a helmet. I’m fine with the helmet policy but not the pads. Also the front desk is rude and impatient. Also have called them several times and Vick is very rude. He doesn’t even say goodbye. I think his name is Vick.
The staff is Great! My son (13yrs old) loves coming here. There something for every level skater.
I gave this place 5 stars for the bowl. Pretty wack you have to pay to skate though. Skateboarding at your local park should be free!
Great transition park, great bowl. Combi - Wally Holiday design!Pads and helmet required. Waiver. Fee required. The website has all info.
Great Place for Fun.... And Kind people that works inside..
A great skate park designed by the legendary Wally Hollyday (Upland Pipeline, Lakewood, etc...) and constructed by Streamline General Contractors. It has a good selection of terrain for most every skater. You need to visit!
A nice complex where kids or adults can find a baseball field, a skateboard area to use and a building that has a gymnasium for indoor activities located on Beal st. Off of Wendover road. Katie Brett
This place is racist! If you’re a black child who loves to skate you’re not safe here!! I’m contacting the news about what happened here today the staff should be ashamed of yourselves.
Poor neighborhood, but a good skate park. Ive been in the rec center there several times, and it was pretty nice. Fields are reasonably well-kept. Decent city park...
Great place to take kids who are just learning. Not to many people getting into the way.
I use the space for outdoor basketball. The courts are decent, but the concrete is cracked in places. I believe the park is getting a facelift with grant money from some organization so I expect the courts will look a lot nicer soon.
Great place for kids to have a good time!
I dont even skate, I Longboard, but the bowls here are sick!!!
Decent ramps and stuff. Clean and neat. Everyone was polite and orderly while we were there.
Great skate park.... Needs more police patrol since it is literally a block from the police station. Stop covering Cotswold, Elizabeth, and Myers Park for a min and protect this great community center
Very nice, but small.
Great concrete park! Great transitions! It has street and vert elements. The bowl has a six foot end and a 10.5 foot deep end, with tile and pool coping. You have to wear pads, but its well worth it!
Skate park is fun and ever child is safe they all have pads and the staff checks on them every now and again and u dont have to scare u can chill and just cool off play basketball and stuff pretty fun
Im too old, but my son loves to skate board there
My son loves the skatepark. Theyre big on safety and Justin, the skateboard lesson guy is awesome!
This is my second time going and skate park was closed Im not sure what is going on
Great place and people, but watch out for the little scooter kids
This place is a really good place to be at and do a picnic, and have fun with the family
They are a great place for people of all ages to skateboard, they even give lessons at the park.
Kids love it and they have monthly passes
Good park for a beginner. Has skate camps and BMX only day on Sunday. Mostly catered to skaters but at least they let us BMX guys on unlike most others.
You have to pay and wear elbow and knee pads plus a helmet and shirt. I wont bother going
Skate park is great for kids and adults.
Loved it I think it is the best place Ive ever been too to ride bmx
Didnt even go in. Looks nice but must pay and must have all protective gear and vary little open hours.
I love how the ramps go up
Great place I love to ride there
Very Informative and calm spirited place
Horrible skatepark everyone there is a ass to new skaters I called before we got here to ask if theres anything we need to no but the lady just said to come on down so when we got there she said we need pads and a helmet wasted 8 dollars on the bus to be disappointed. Also this is a vert skatepark we searched up street skatepark so mad staff is really mean.
Nice skate Center but small
A nice place to skateboard
Sweeeet skate park!
Always go there. because I live close by
If you go there at night youll think you just entered a scene from a Friday the 13th movie. Beware!
This park is terrible and gives much hate. The only riders are skateboarder and biker or bmxers. No scooter or rollerblades. Dont even bother to look at them if you are a rider that is not accepted
Staff treats you with respect.
Ridiculous! Charlotte park and rec. needs to get educated on how to run a skatepark.
Its a fun place for kids
What kind of park should you have to pay to get into anyways i was ushered out. Wont be coming back dont worry.
I love it great in my opinion

Ok. Just ok.
Shouldnt make you have to wear pads unless you want to staff is terribly mean and inconsiderate. And overall not a really good park wouldnt recommend
I love lamp
