I always enjoy my visits here. So many amazing activities to do. I am now the proud owner of an activities pass. I am looking forward to enjoying all the activities I get with the path. The food is also great. If you are looking for something to do around Charlotte this is definitely one of the must visit spots especially if you enjoy the outdoors!
What an interesting place. Im an avid rock climber and i was stoked to try out the artificial deep water soloing. The Climbing was generally fine but it was a bummer that the routes were never reset.definitely worth a stop if youre in the area and these types of activities are up your alley! Prices seem pretty fair for what it is!
Highlight of our trip to NC. This place is amazing and let me tell you - prices are just unbelievable (in a very pleasant way and i hope this will not chnage)! Whitewater rafting guides were all super cool!We had such a great time! If someone gives it less then 4 stars - there must be something wrong with this person!
I started going here for the free daily yoga sessions. I’ve invested in the parking pass ( much better than the $6 per visit parking), and I love it. There’s a little hidden spot in the woods with beautiful trees and little Christmas lights where everyone comes together to just be peaceful. Although the free yoga sessions have ended for the year, I will be back in March!
We went for the ice skating rink. Not to skate, just to watch. Its a great sized rink and they have some fire pits with chairs where you can sit and relax. The music at the rink got on my nerves. I thought they would be playing something recognizable or maybe even Christmas music. The hot chocolate was TERRIBLE. It was basically hot water. I dont recommend getting it.
A must visit in Charlotte. The rafting is excellent burst of fun and excitement. You can follow it up with a nice kayak journey on the river and then a drink at one of the 3 bars!
Love this place. Everytime I go, the staff is polite and helpful. They definitely prioritize safety within their means, you need to be aware of your own limits as well. There are events and courses for beginners to advance so keep in mind what you want to do and plan ahead for a good time and come prepared! Lines really arent that long and there are lots of activities to do and enjoy. Also there are plenty of areas if you just wanna lay out and chill. Love seeing the doggies there too!
The whitewater center itself is great. Seeing so many people not wearing masks is very discouraging though. As far as fun goes the wwc is great. As far as covid safety goes it is best to be avoided.
What a great place to enjoy the outdoors and feel like youre in the mountains. Take your dog too but have to ask for bags at guest services. Stay away from the BBQ sandwich that should be SO much better considering were in the south...but chicken sandwich was great! Love going here year round.
First time here and it was definitely an enjoyable way to spend the day. The beer selection was very good and so was the food. The flat water kayaking was fun and inexpensive, comparatively speaking.
Such a great place. We spent all day there and loved it! Zip lining, rope courses, water rafting, Rock climbing and so much more. This place was definitely a different experience for my family but we had no regrets. All the staff members were very friendly and genuinely cared about our experience. If you’re looking for an outdoor family experience then you’ve got to try this place. The food was great and fresh too!! The only con is that I wish their was better signage and directions (this place is pretty big/the online pictures don’t do this place any justice).
This is such a unique place! Great for families or people who are new to rafting. The staff are well-trained and enthusiastic, and you can tell they have fun at their jobs. Safety is valued above all else, with short orientations before each activity. The facility is very clean and well-kept.
It has lots of fun activities like zip lines swimming and mountain bikes trail and walking trails and good for skiing ofcourse it starts on November
The perfect place to go if you love the outdoors as much as we do. There’s something to do for everyone. The employees are always so kind and helpful. Plus you can grab food and beer while you’re there
Ice skating was fun but a little overpriced. $20 per person.. However there are no skating aids available for small children. There was no real social distancing. Maybe about 50% of the people were wearing masks.
Came here with high expectations. I was not disappointed!! Friendly staff, LOADS of happy people. 5 stars and then some.I came for the biking, and there are plenty of trails to go around. Some technical parts and some easier trails too.Rental bikes and gear available, food and drink on site, this place is a playground for adults.Awesome update: went rafting on 7/11. Genuinely thought it was down the rapids once and done. Happy surprise that the $50ish/person is actually for approximately an hour of rafting. Even with the business of loads of people, we were served quickly and only waited an hour to get into the water. Enough time to enjoy a beer, and walk around. Our guide, Cole, give that man a raise!!! Fun and professional. He made sure we had a great time. 6 stars!!!!
Great experience. Staff was knowledgeable and professional. The restaurant is adequate but recommend eating lunch in your vehicle as its stated no food or beverage allowed though water bottles are allowed and necessary. We easily got through most of the activities with a 2 day pass. Keep in mind weekends are busier than weekdays. Dont be afraid if youre not athletic, there are different levels for most things. Kayaking and rafting were my favorite. My boyfriend loved the ziplines and rope courses. The ultimate ziplines are a $10 upcharge with the all access pass which they tell you when you check-in. Weve already said we plan to return once a year!
I went ice skating towards the end of November and let me tell you it was packed. No covid restrictions were put into place as they were letting everyone in without any safety measures. No temperature check and no social distancing anywhere. They were not requiring masks and they definitely did not cut off the amount of people allowed on the ice. Also the skates were awful, out of the 1000 people on the ice I would say 10 pairs of skates were sharpened and the rest of the people looked looked like newborn deer trying to walk. Lastly they barely clean the skates and a lot of people were complaining about their skates being wet. Go here if you want to catch covid because its included in the day pass.
The mountain bike trails are excellent and extensive, but theres also a million other things to do here as well. If you like outdoors things definitely visit this place.
This place was amazing! Girlfriend and I had an excellent time here. Whitewater rafting the family route is great and the competition route is more advanced. Get ready for someone in the boat to be thrown out. Rock climbing and zip lining were very fun too. Overall a fun time and a good workout.
The best one stop shop for outdoor adventure fun in Charlotte. Fantastic facilities and excellent staff. Cant go wrong with all the beer stations that are well stocked with local and micro brew beers. Ended up getting the year pass this was such a good time!
My favorite place in Charlotte!!! Such a variety of activities, drinks, bike trails, food options and sitting areas. If you have no intentions of buying a pass to do any activity, you literally can go to watch people rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding you name it. Such a great place to take family or friends visiting Charlotte!
The light walk is really good.....fun for whole family. However make sure you have real shoes no slides or flip flops. You are walking on natural wood trails.
Went for the first time and was very disappointed. Many of the staff at the restaurant were not wearing their masks properly (nose out and mouth only covered). The food was disgusting (slop really) and expensive. Bees are everywhere in the dining area and it’s a problem. I think it’s repulsive to have dogs in the dining area where people are eating (even if it’s outside, as not all your patrons love animals and I think it’s very unsanitary). Even though this is a huge outdoor facility the lack of social distancing here was alarming. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast and you love bugs flying into your eyes, mouth and hair at every turn with people that have no clue or care that we are in a pandemic then this place is definitely for you! Never again.
Great customer service with plenty of outside activities from white water rafting to rock wall to biking. At least three restaurants on sight for snacks or a full lunch. If you like fish try the tuna or salmon salad. Excellent - The NY Cheesecake and assortment of beers are good also. Enjoy
I love this place so much fun! we just move from Florida 1 month ago and this is our favorite place! lots of things to do! our favorite part Bike Trails.... Axel is always taking care of us when we rent or when we need any adjustment for our bikes! worker like Axel makes you feel more than welcome with his professionalism and enthusiasm... thumbs up! :)Joe & Dayana
This Place & Staff were Spectacular.I called a few times back to back to get Information about them & They did not get upset or have an attitude. I called back about 5 or so times within 30 minutes because my guy & I were trying to figure out if we wanted to go / how much / what services were open that day.We had never been there and when I came across it online I was stoked, & excited. I was visiting & have never heard of them. We both have tried many things & like to try new things. Each time I called they made sure to Inform me where I could go online & step by step instructions on what to click on, how to get to it.After we decided to go, when we got into the car it was starting to rain/sprinkle. I contacted them again and asked about the rain & if things were open. We wanted to do the rock climbing anyways but the young lady on the phone explained what would be open even if it was raining. The rock climbing without the water would still be open if it was raining. She explained that if lighting was reported close that they would have to cancel. We went. It was beautiful. When we checked in, of course. Sign all the goods, ect.Ms. Trimble. I believe that is the spelling. She was AMAZING. She answered all of our questions & asked us some too. And when I say that, I mean it was not what she had to say lol. She cared and she really made an impact in our trip. Great customer service with her. She really put a smile on our faces.Im trying to remeber her first name..but last name was Trimble. Spelling may be off.I wanted to give her a shout out.
Fantastic place to raft, kayak, mountain bike, walk, zip line, rock climb many more. Family friendly and economical.
One of the best adventure values you will ever find. This place will leave you sore and tired at the end of the day like a wild night in the Philippines. For a single fee you’re free to choose your own adventure in a true outdoor park. Zip line, rock walls, ropes course, lake activities and white water rafting are fun for both adults and kids. This is really one of the best places to visit in the region. I drove all the way from Georgia, twice!
White water Rafting was awesome. Trails not well marked. They need better signage. Asked about Mt. Biking on Sat 10/10 the guy on the phone did not mention the 40+ mile race that was going on that day on the trails. We were not racing. But to much traffic on the trails.
Recieved some swift water rescue training and must say it was some of the best training Ive ever received the instructors were awesome. The other staff were amazing. And the food we recieved was probably the best sandwich Ive ever had. Definitely recommend and look forward to coming back to experience other activities the center has to offer.
Amazing experience every time I have gone. Huge variety of activities for all skills and for those who are daring enough
Theres so much to do here, that its amazing! And with the great food and drink and entertainment, you could pretty much just live here lol
I have NOT even gone there yet BUT I called with like 10 different questions and talked to Chad. Let me tell you, when you call most businesses the employees usually just want to get off the phone. Chad took the time to really explain the process and what my kids would be doing at the location. He was extremely nice and he deserves a raise for the level of attention he gave me over the phone. 10 STARS!!!
Had a fantastic time! Although I would recommend staffing more employees at some of the attractions to help move them along, and at one point they ran out of equipment and had to wait for people to return it. At Outfitters we went in to purchase snacks and the line was extremely long with people trying to purchase passes (a process which takes a bit longer then just purchasing iteams) They needed a separate line for people purchasing iteams. Overall we had a blast and would highly recommend it. We will be back. There was to much to do in only one day.
This place is so much fun! There are endless activities to do. I highly recommend going. Its a great place for people of all ages. They have activities such as whitewater rafting, mountain biking, zip line, kayaking, rock climbing, and tons more!
This place is Amazing! Wether you are coming for a walk, bikeing, white water rafting or any other of the activities. Dont need to buy a pass to enter, but if you want to participate it will cost ypu $50 for the day. (thats a steal!). Too much to do in one day. Its also a great place to grab a bite and a beer. Good selection of beer throughout the facility. Food is good. Food and drink are also reasonable, which is a rarity in this kind of venue. Staff are always knowledgeable, efficient, polite and fun. I really cam not think of a bad thing to say.
Awesome place for good family fun and very cleverly situated and structured...My only real complaint with that being said knowing how many families with young children frequent this venue is why the bathrooms arent equipped with changing tables? was a real downer to have change my child in his stroller as people swarmed all around me...Hope to find this change is made on our next go round...
Fun place to go whatever the weather. Great trails and activities year-round.
Lots of fun biking hiking rock climbing ice skating canoeing zip lining high rope adventures dog friendly
If you dont have a pass you have to pay $6 to park. We went there to see the lights. Directions given to us by an employee to get to that area were not completely accurate. Trailhead is not marked clearly. If you are elderly or have young children trail is not very well lit & could be dangerous. Not worth the fee you pay to see a few lights.
Great place to spend a little time for outdoor activities. Well organized facility.
The ice skating and light hike were a blast! Affordable beer, lots of dogs. Overall a great time! Staff at the skate rental area could not have been more pleasant!
My husband and I loved the entire park. We couldnt complete all activities in one day.One restaurant (rivers edge) was opened and had good tasting food . We regret 1 thing though, not purchasing our own helmet and water vest. Buy your own helmet and vest. Youll thank me later.Definitely returning.
Fun place to ice skate in the winter. Great place to raft and mountain bike in the summer. The white water center is a winner!
Great all round outdoor experience. whether you want to just go for a walk around the man made rapids, have a beer on Belmont island, or take a stroll through the woods down to the Catawba river. Oh and you may want to actually do some of the activities that are available. White water rafting - level three and level four. Rock climbing, zip lines, and mountain biking are just a few of the primary activities. There is a Restaurant onsite and music events in the spring and summer, included with your paid parking. We are lucky to have this beautiful area in Charlotte!
We absolutely love this place! It definitely takes a couple times going to learn where things are and how things work. The pay month they have added more signage around the grounds to help locate different activities. A fun place to get outside and have fun!
Visited site on a Wens afternoon to buy a few Christmas Gift Cards. Was told at the gate I had to purchase a Day Parking Pass even after explaining I was only purchasing Gift Cards. With no other option I reluctantly paid the fee for less than a 5 minute stop. Not too pleased.
This is a great destination, even if you have no plans to get wet! Parking for the day is only $6. Find a shady spot and let the rushing water do its thing. There are restaurant options or you can bring your own. You can do as little or as much as you desire. There is a climbing wall, bike trails, walking trails, Zipline, and of course Whitewater activities. There is something for everyone.
There is nothing bad to say. If youre questioning going then the only question you should have is when will the weather be nice so I can go. Dont hesitate. This is one of Charlottes gems.
Kayaking was great, the faculty offers rock climbing as well. We purchased a Paddle to Table event which included dinner. Food was good BUT we had to wait about an hour for the other 2 groups to join us before meals were served. That needs to be better organized. We were also told the restaurant on the property has great food so we will be back to try lunch and rock climbing!
Great experience. We got to water raft and then we went biking. We went on an unusual busy Sunday probably because it was Labor day weekend but water rafting was only limited to 1 time during the visit which sucks but certainly understandable to give others an opportunity but we were definitely water rafting for a good 2 hours to say the least so it was worth it. Also it sucked that we were unable to do rope obstacles and ziplining since they closed earlier than usual that day but next time - we will definitely try it as I will certainly be back again!
A great place to explore a few outdoor activities. The white water rafting was awesome. Our guide was experienced and fun, he made sure we did not tip over. The staff is very friendly and take safety seriously. Not a place for smaller children. Plan on spending the day or at least a few hours.
Extremely impressive facility. So much to do for all interests. Can be as quick as a few hours for a hike or mountain bike run or all day with zip line and rafting. It seems like the all access pass may be the way to go but i just did the trails this time which is just the price of parking.
So glad we found this place and can not wait to go back. Family friendly and great way to get your family outdoors. They even offer adult beverages.
The place was awesome, but it was to crowded and 80% of the people did not wear a mask and there was no social distancing practiced, kayaking was relaxing and off-road biking was thrilling.
This was the best idea. It was not to crowded the staff were great. This is good PHYSICAL fun. If you are not in shape or like extreme activities this is not for you. Lots of thinfs to do. I reccomend a 2 day pass to be able to really enjoy everything. Every activity hasa 10 to 15 min orientation before you try it. They are trying and doing a good job of keeping things sanitized. Everything is outside so plenty of breathing room. Will be returning again soon.
My daughter and I walked the trail around the lake. The path was well-marked, so I didnt feel like I was gonna get lost. There are lots of roots along the path so factor in extra time when hiking versus a flat surface. It was peaceful and relaxing. Felt very safe. Saw a cute little turtle and a alot of athletic guys riding bikes on the path.
So many outdoor activities to do. We had an amazing time whitewater rafting and kayaking. There were so many things we werent able to do everything in one day but will definitely come back!
The white water rafting pool was closed due to covid, but the zip lining and other things were open. Also, its fun to just walk around! Lots of nature to appreciate :)
Such a bang for your buck! The establishment is welcoming and clean. Although rapids are man made they set a high standard. The place has so much to offer at such a great price and location.
An experience that my wife and I will never forget. We tried the rafting, kayaking, paddle board, obstacle courses, mountainbiking, and rock climbing into the pool. So many fun and exciting things for the entire family. If you plan to do absolutely everything that this place has to offer, youll need at least two full days to experience it all.
Lots to do. Hiking, biking, zip line rope course and many other things. The rafting and kayaking are closed for the season. Parking needs to be improved.
The pros: a fun environment to relax or to go and enjoy all of the activities. I really enjoy the friendly staff and how everyone works really hard to keep everyone safe. The food is great and I really enjoy all of the amenities provided. You don’t have to have a pass to get into to the park to enjoy the food and good vibes. The cons: none
Parking is six bucks for a car. Trails are free! Just grab lunch on the way, and sit and watch the rafters with your kids. Walk down to the river on a trail and call it an adventure! Have fun! Breathe fresh air! GET OUTSIDE!
Rating only the ice skating rink area. Didnt see the full place. Very crowded and if youre looking for a socially distance friendly fun activity, this place isnt for you.
One of my favorite places in Charlotte. So many awesome outdoor activities. Sometimes it is nice to just take a walk or meet friends for a beer here.I absolutely love it
Had a blast! Friendly, and informative staff. $290 for family of 4 to do it all and spent the whole day there. Was out first time it was awesome. Be ready to be sore the next day lol.
Excellent experience with our first day pass today. Big shout out to Dalton, our rafting guide, for starting the day off on such a high note. if I could give 6 stars I would. He made those rapids our beach, appreciate the good times guys, we’ll be back!
This place is so unique! My friends and I were not prepared for the amount of fun and panic that we were going to experience when coming here. One of us had a panic attack on the ropes course and a staff member named Andrew helped get me safely across the course. Two of us blacked out during the jump and zip lining. With that being said we all plan on going back and had a great experience! Highly recommend and the day pass is really worth it! You won’t be able to do everything in one day but you can probably do like 3 of the things that they offer. Check out the rafting!!
Its pricey if you go with a large family. The hiking trails are fun. My baby cousin had a blast
Very cool place! Lots of activities including white water rafting, rock climbing, ropes courses, kayaking, zip lines, etc. Good variety of food options. Clean bathrooms. Great place for the whole family!
Awesome place so much to do here. Great place to hang out with friends or to take the family for day of fun. $6 parking to get in then its around $30 per activity let person which is pricey but still worth it if you get there early.Recommend bringing in your owned food and drink bc it is pricey for what you get. There are bars for food and beers. They have IPAs and other beers too. They having biking, hiking walking and running trails, zip lines, white water rafting and kayaking, and rock wall climbing. Its entertaining to just come and watch. The channels for kayaking and rafting are great. There are staff members posted there to help you out if you get jammed up and have to swim.
This was my first experience here in about 12 years. Arrived at 3:00, got an all day ticket for me and my daughter. Got a 5:30 reservation for rafting. Went kayaking and paddle boarding before 5:30, which was fun. Then right around 5:15 they suspended all activities because of lightning in the area. This is understandable given that lightening is slightly hazardous to your health. What isnt understandable is why their policy doesnt provide a rain check when your rafting trip is cancelled. Terrible policy. Otherwise would be five stars. Greed is not becoming
This place is dope. Walking trails, rafting, rock climbing, zip lines, and then food and delicious beer to top it all off. I love this place!
I love the whitewater center itself. So much so that my wife and I decided to have our wedding here on November 7th. The ceremony site is a little off the beaten path so they told us we could have someone drive our guests that were unable to walk the hill. Well they waited until the night before our wedding to let our planning company know there was a race literally just outside the ceremony space. When I arrived there was blaring music and a race right on the road where our ceremony was. The workers wouldnt let my guests drive up the hill and complained about what they called a last minute wedding even though this wedding was booked for about a year in advanced. They did get someone with a cart to help my guests back down the hill, which is the reason this isnt a one star review, but they still had to walk up it to begin with. Ill still visit the Whitewater center again, but they almost ruined my wedding day.
Wonder park with plenty of activities that can easily take a day to explore. Whitewater rafting and kayaking is available, as well as kayaking, paddle boarding, and canoeing along a river. Zip line and bike trails are also available. There is a concert space with a bar for music events as well.
I am an annual pass member and never get tired of going to the Whitewater center. During the spring, summer and fall I love the rafting, zip lines and hiking. I love how they added ice skating this winter...fun areas to hang out and eat/drink near the stoves they built out of kegs or fire pits if you just want to watch. Highly recommend year around! Tonight we went and toured the temporary “Lights”exhibit and it was spectacular...the trails after dark were breathtaking.
If it wasnt for the immature raft guides horse-playing white water rafting, this would have been a great experience. The personnel in charge of the ropes course, rock climbing walls, and zip-lines are fantastic! Not a huge fan of heights, but they are super understanding and made it a calming experience. However, based on the raft guides piss poor behavior; we are definitely never going here again. They could cause someone to get seriously injured, and the managers do not seem very phased about it. It took talking to two managers to come to some sort of resolution.
Great day on the trails. Lots of fun and able to stay socially distant if youre smart about it.
This is a great place for a family friendly outdoor activities. There are many many things you can do over there. This includes rock climbing, zip lining and hiking. The trails are awesome. Mountain biking is also very fun in this area. There are some casual restaurants that you can get some food in. Typically, we just bring our own. The ice rink is also found in the winter time. I would highly recommend anybody visiting the area to consider a day at this park. Great music in the outdoors during the summer time also. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 a lot of these have been canceled, but the park and the site overall remains a great place to visit.
This place is fantastic! The staff are all very welcoming and helpful. The activities are all super engaging, but dont make you feel babied. The park feels all around open and free flowing, does not feel like an amusement park, rather a real training facility... which happens to host many amateurs. Definitely coming back!
This place has anything an outdoor adventure person could want. Mountain biking, ziplines, ropes adventure course, whitewater courses, kayaking, and rock walls. There are some things that require a reservation to do such as the large ziplines and whitewater rafting so be sure to call. The cost for an all day pass is $59 which is very reasonable for everything you can so. The wait for some activities can be long so get there right at open or try to go on a week day.I would highly recommend this place and Charlotte in general. If I am ever back in Charlotte this will definitely be on my list.
Hayden on the whitewater rafting was great! He gaves us the full experience. Way better than other guides. Asked what we 3anted and made it happen for me and the family
Where to start...Goodness we had the best two days here and will return ASAP! I wish there were more stars because five isnt enough! We did the whitewater rafting which was incredible each time! We did the Adventure Rafting each time and it did not disappoint! We did the ziplines, paddle boarding, and Deep Water Solo which were all a lot of fun! So much to do, highly recommend doing a two day pass at least to be able to cover anything you may want to get into! Having said that, you wont be able to see it all in two days... Theres just too much fun to be had!
You definitely need a full day or even a full weekend to complete all the activities in the park. There is a good amount of area to cover. A great family / friend plan for any weekend.
Awesome place. Not really for kids younger than 8. Would give 5 stars if there were a splash pad or shaded playground area for the younger kids to play while us older kids explored. It was too hot for the little ones to not be able to get anywhere even near water. Highly recommend for anyone over 8 that likes adventure.
We absolutely love the Whitewater Center. My family has season passes, as we live only an hour away and you truly can not do everything in just one day. A few tips and tricks that I have found since visiting about every weekend this summer:-Parking is $6, or $50 for a parking season pass-Close toed shoes required for climbing-Shoes with heal strap required for rafting-You have to sit through orientation every time for rafting, no matter how many times you have been-Large bin rentals are available for $12 a day. The small lockers are not worth it for a family. Bins are the way to go-If you are a runner, be prepared to have some awesome elevation gain-90 minute limit on flatwater-must be 11 years old to go Adventure rafting-Be prepared to go swimming while rafting. YES- YOU HAVE A HIGH CHANCE OF GOING IN THE WATER. I have been on multiple trips with people who said they did not know how to swim. If you cant swim, please dont go rafting.-Not all raft guides are created the same. If you are scared, request a guide with more experience as you can get hurt.
This place was absolutely amazing. I came and got the full day pass and was able to do so much things. It was $60 and I managed to get in rock climbing above water, white water rafting, zip lines, free fall. I did go on a Sunday and it wasn’t too crowded, but if you went a weekday it’d probably be even better. The environment was so cool and the views were great. I 100% recommend doing this if you are any bit an adventurous, outdoorsy and are in Charlotte!
Awesome experience... Went rafting with a guide named Nick and he was great. Made it a super fun ride and very personable!
I buy a pass to this place every year. I love going here to get my 20 mile rides in. It’s always nice to go ride then catch a beer on the way out. Will continue to come here. First time coming? Hit the south main trail system, one of my personal favorites.
Great experience!! I brought my wife here for her birthday get-a-way in Charlotte!! We had a blast!! First time experiences!! We definitely will go again and bring family and friends with us!!
A weekend adventure getaway in the city. Though its hard to complete all the activities with day pass, adventure rafting, 100ft jump and ziplines are must do. Worth a visit.
