First time going yesterday (08/11/2020) I LOVED IT!!!!Very peaceful to run, walk, jog, etcHas a restroom area & benches throughout the trail.I got there at 5:27pm and had no issue with parking what so ever.The parking lot had 3 cars and that included mine.The bridges get really SLIPPERY when it rains but other than that no problem.

This Greenway is a magical place filled with squirrels, turtles, birds, and deer. It easy walking with wide boardwalks that bridge the waterways. There are public restrooms and water fountains at one parking area. Great place to walk your dog. Bicycles are allowed, but be ready to dodge pedestrians and runners. It is mostly shade-covered and I have not experienced flies or mosquitoes, so highly enjoyable!

Nice place to get outside and get some exercise. Mostly level paved path. Good for all ages and abilities.

Great flat paved trail which will only get better once the north and south connectors get built. Right you can only get roughly 5 miles on way.

A great place to walk or ride a bike without feeling overcrowded by others.

Nice little stop on the Greenway. Not too far from some shops but the parking lot is tiny

The trail is clean and lots of other people around so it feels safe!

It was a good trail for bike ride beginners with the family.

Very nicely kept walking trails. Clean restroom(mens at least). Small, but nice parking area right off major road. Wildlife everywhere. Lots of benches along the trail to sit and relax.

Great place to walk or ride your bike. Looks like the recent rain has put some mud and leaves on the tail but just needs a cleanup.

Greenway is a wonderful relaxing 4miles to 51 or 2 miles to Rea Rd from this lot. Restrooms and small parking area.

Great running trails. Treated with an occasional sighting of deer!

Pleasant place to walk and feel like you are in nature! We saw a deer family of five a few times, so awesome!

Great greenway space for walking, biking or jogging. The path is paved almost all the way. Some boardwalk areas over marsh spots and one parking lot is gravel. There are benches every so often if you would like a break.

Very pleasant walking and good parking, bathrooms. I have taken away a star because various parts of the Greenway have been used by criminals to attack citizens. There really should be security cameras all along the Greenway.

Very nice place for your runs. I love to sip coffee at starbucks after running.. i witnessed deer lst time when i ws running.. very pretty.

McAlpine is a wonderful Greenway. I love to run here! When the weather is hot, its the shadiest place to exercise on the south side of Charlotte. I run here all seasons. There are nature preserves here for Blue Herons, turtles, and many others. The trail is suitable for walking, easy hiking, and bicycling as well. There are clean, well maintained, restrooms at the Johnston road entrance.

I really like this place but the bridges are made of wood and are very slippery when theyre wet or frozen. I wouldnt recommend walking on this greenway in those conditions

Wonderful Greenway area with connecting paths (I think, Im not 100% familiar with the Charlotte Greenway System) to other Charlotte Greenways. Great natural environment and seems pretty safe during the daytime.

Nice place to take a long run/walk

Great way to see the beauty of nature and how it can connect within an urban setting.

Love this section of green way and its one of the oldest sections.On a side note. FOLKS Allowing your dog to roam along the green way as you walk with them is ILLEGAL! Charlotte has leash laws! Up to a $500 dollar fine.

Great place for bike riding

I love this place! Its really nice to see the animals and greenery. A great place to take a break from the hussle and get a little exercise in. All the trees keep it pretty shaded and comfortable. What I really hate is the small parking area. It is such a popular place it can be really difficult to find a spot.

This was okay. Trail is near see houses and would be nicer if it was more private and wooded but is still a nice hike if you live close by

We love this greenway because of the canopy of trees that offer shade in the summer. Of course we like many of Charlotte greenways that are well maintain with clean rest areas.

Awesome to walk/ride on summer days consider the trail is mostly shaded.

Great trails! Make sure to lock belongings in trunk, lock car doors, etc. due to several reports of car break-ins on this greenway even in midday.

Clean. Secure. Police presence throughout the day/night. Never completely packed.

One of Charlottes many Greenways. Great for walking, running, biking, and taking nature photos.

Great parking, but not enough of it. I know its not easy to provide more. Three star rating is only because it is a challenge to park. The Greenway is very, very nice.

One of my favorite places to walk. If it rains a lot. It can be muddy in places, but generally great.

Well maintained Greenway, great for walking, running, biking or taking the dog out. The parking lot on Johnston Rd is often crowded. Here’s a tip: there is another lot nearby at Pikes! It connects to the trail plus you’ll have a stoplight exit so you can head North or South on Johnston.

Great place to walk dogs.

Great place for a walk or run. We take our Senior residents to walk here about once a month!!!

Nice greenway

McAlpine Creek Greenway and Park is a great place to run or walk in nature without going to far into the wilderness. Lots of entrances to the trail by foot and vehicle. Plenty of benches along the trail for a rest break or to enjoy a packed lunch or snack.

I am a nature freak and McAlpine Creek Greenway is one if my favorite places to enjoy it. Highly recommended!

Perfect for Mountain Biking with some nice trails that break off the paved trail and also good fishing. Many people might not believe it but there are some huge bass in that creek.

I can run really fast here. Nice trail. Flat for miles.

Parking can be a problem depending on the day and time. It is a nice place to walk though the greenery has become overgrown in some places. Unfortunately some people refuse to pick up after their pets so you so have to watch where you step.

I have not found a greenway that I did not like anywhere around Charlotte. This one is exceptional. Looking forward to when more greenways and greenway connectors are built in Mecklenburg County.

My car was broken into here; 2 windows need to be replaced (one was completely shattered). It was packed and was in the middle of the day.I will no longer be going here

This is a great place for walking, running and biking. However, it is crowded at times and difficult to navigate around people if you are biking.

Great place to walk your pets.

When it rains there is no shelter at all except the car that you came in unless you didnt come in a car. Also be careful, the wood gets slippery especially if you are on a bike.
