My husband, mother in law, our two kids and I, rented a pontoon boat yesterday and it was an amazing experience. The two gentleman that helped us were very attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. They helped us with our bags and made the whole process smooth and fun! I would definitely recommend using them for your water sports needs. Great family fun! Arrived late so our time was shortened. Dont be late they do run a tight schedule. Boat was very nice and easy to maneuver. The staff was very nice and informative. Will definitely be returning soon!

From start to finish the staff was very friendly and very informative. I took my younger siblings for their first kayaking experience, (ages 10 & 13), and he lead them step by step to understand how to paddle and stay safe.The area was extremely clean and nicely laid out and decorated. The bathrooms/shower rooms even looked newly remodeled and were clean.Will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic time kayaking on Lake Wylie. Never thought I would meet a fellow Bronx Boy here let alone one who was born not that far from me. Coming back is already in our plans for our next trip to Charlotte. The best!

Dont waste your time and money. The guy running the place is utterly rude and a total jerk. He lost his temper at me when I tried to make reservations on the weekend (which is apparently something he doesnt do?). BEWARE.

I had previously posted that this was a wonderful place to go. I’ve been several times and I’ve taken several friends and recommended this business to friends and family. However, I had to cancel a couple of times this summer because I’ve had serious problems arise. When I asked for a reservation today, this is what the response was, “I dont even think I should worry about making your reservation youre gonna cancel anyway.” I have the screenshot. If you needed a doctors note for a cancellation, I would have provided one. I have never been treated so poorly. Btw most of my reviews are excellent for other businesses.

Today we rented one of the power boats for 8 hours. From start to finish our experience was great! We called the day prior to schedule our rental, immediately we got a time for 9am. We arrived at 9am and were greeted and given great service. The boat was a great experience, it was clean and perfect for a day of fishing. Overall, its a 5 star experience. I was extremely pleased with the customer service of the staff. I would highly recommend to anyone that comes down to North Carolina. We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing time! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and he really enjoyed. We went out for 2 hrs on a speed boat Our Captin Jacob was great and the owner David was very nice and wanted to ensure we had a good time, we will absolutely be back!!

We rented a pontoon boat last weekend from Destination Watersports in Lake Wylie. We were given a super small pontoon boat - no room to stretch out at all - thought we were getting the 12-14 seater (price was same, too, and thats what I reserved). It had a 5 HP engine. 5 HP people! (Really???) SUPER slow. We were told we couldnt fish, drop anchor, or put the shade down. Couldnt pull a tube (wasnt fast enough anyway). The boat was clean, and people were nice enough, but we rented from a different place last summer and thats where we will go back to - much bigger and nicer boat, way faster, and we could fish, anchor, put shade down - all for the same price. Dont recommend Destination Watersports if you want to enjoy your boat ride.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the kayak. David and the staff here at Destination watersports all were super friendly and helpful. Cant wait to come back!

Heed the 1 star reviews! I have been trying to make a reservation for over a month, texting and calling and texting and calling and all I ever get is Im out on the water with another guest. I am really not sure that this is a legitimate business anymore if it ever was and these reviews arent faked. Dont buy the groupon like I did because you can never use it.

Unbelievably TERRIBLE experience. Owner never answers the phone, Ive called 10+ times and it goes straight to voicemail every time (weekday and weekend). Tried to text the number provided and he told me that reservations are only taken during the week for the weekend but he never responded to the texts/calls on weekdays... When he finally called me back he immediately started arguing and literally shouting at me for not understanding the reservation system. SO, if you want to get ghosted and shouted at, hes your guy.

Lovely drive and a beautiful location, however when we walked into the office there were three guys (teens maybe) just sitting there hanging out and it felt like we were interrupting them. We were told kayak rentals stopped at “a certain time” so we could not rent any. I had to ask what time they stop, and was told “ummm around 3pm”. It was a beautiful Saturday and it doesn’t make sense to stop business at 3pm. There were plenty of kayaks outside. Would have loved to take one out for an hour but apparently this place has super strict times these can be rented. Other places advertise and offer evening rentals which would be nice considering mid-day is so hot. We will not be going back to have this awkward experience again.

Wonderful experience!! Had lots of fun on the rental pontoon boat:) Great price and friendly staff.There are also kayaks, canoes and paddle boards to rent as well. I would recommend this for a fun day on the water:)

Terrible customer service. We tried to make reservations but they wouldnt answer the phone so we drove down there. The business door was locked with no signs. We didnt know if they were closed or what. So we called and texted the business number a bunch of more times. Finally they texted back saying they were on the water with guests. So I called again and they answered and told me they were at lunch. Which one was it? To make matters worse the guy is rude. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience he immediately blamed me for not making reservations and said he is receiving 90 calls a minute. This business is unprofessional. If they dont answer dont go, you may end up turning around and going to another boat rental place :(

My friend and I drove all the way from Raleigh to experience kayaking...and it was incredible. The customer service was exceptional...super nice, welcoming atmosphere, and great for families and friends. The scenery was beautiful!! It was also cost efficient...very reasonable. Its a family owned business and they believe in fairness and high quality.

Very accommodating, personable, clean equipmentUpon arriving my boyfriend and I were able to find parking very easily. We walked into the office around 2:15 to meet with Rob and were in kayaks by 2:30. (We are not new to the sport and were able to bypass the safety video) We rented the new single kayaks which had great back support and stayed upright even as we jumped in and out of the water. The lake itself is relatively calm with little traffic as well.This was a great experience and we are excited to do business with Rob and Dave in the near future.

I cant remember the last time that Ive experienced such phenomenal customer service. They were able to accommodate my husband and I for Fathers Day and were super nice about it. Rob and Dave made us feel comfortable and the equipment was well maintained which made me feel very safe. It was a great first time kayaking experience and we will definitely be back to rent one of the boats with our friends. We drove all the way from Raleigh and it was well worth it.

These guys are awesome! I took my two daughters and husband and they were very flexible with our arrangements. They wont say no until theyve thought of every solution. Buyer beware of small print and all rules before making any reservations here.I was a brand new customer who had never even rented from them, and was asked to pay full price for a reservation which I had to cancel. Owner claimed lost profit from holiday weekend. Was told we were officially blacklisted.Will not be reserving anything moving forward.
