Nifty Aquarium! We Loved the Chained Dogfish Shark and Stingray petting areas! There were two floors of freshwater, marsh water, river water, and sea water Fish and Animals/Critters! We were even able to see a Turtle Triage center with several Giant Sea Turtles and an American Bald Eagle who are being tended to and cared for! Pretty Amazing!
I’m originally from Florida so we have a ton of aquariums but this one ranks my top 3. Florida, Atlanta and then this one. Absolutely a great time with wildlife inside including a bald eagle, snakes, jellyfish and rescued turtles. A great place to bring the family and plenty of stuff to keep your little ones fascinated.
If you only have time for one museum in Charleston, go here even though it’s not a museum! You will learn about local animals and their habitats. All the volunteers were so amazing and knowledgeable. The aquariums COVID precautions were top notch! The best we’ve seen on our trip to Charleston. The turtle rescue lab and exhibit really touch our hearts! It was so encouraging to hear all the good work they are doing. Would definitely recommend going here!
Absolutely love this place. My wife and I got 1 year membership and it has been such an oasis to come and visit. They do some amazing work in the community and provide such important education on conversation. Plus they have so much including tons of fish, sharks, turtles, otters, a bald eagle, several touch tanks, and more. Highly recommend the year pass!!
We enjoyed the exhibits and the general atmosphere of the place; staff were helpful and knowledgeable as well. Theyve also done a pretty good job integrating hygienic measures into the experience. The Halloween trail setup was the exact kind of cheesy fun we were looking for and my daughter especially enjoyed the art style of whoever was responsible for the blacklight paintings near the end. My favorite was the little American kestrel doing its convalescence.
My family and I had an amazing time on our visit (09/27/2020). Even during the pandemic it was such a great trip. From the ease of purchasing our tickets and time online to the wonderful staff at the aquarium, it all made this trip a great time and experience. We will definitely be returning for future visits! Thanks from the Thompson Family to the wildlife conservationist and staff who help make that place what it is!
This has some of the best ocean views of any aquarium I’ve been to and an awesome staff member pointed out dolphins which was great to see. The touch tank is super cute, the facilities seemed to be clean and taking proper precautions with covid. While this isn’t a particularly large aquarium, the space is filled well with a good variety of creatures to see. More maps around the building would be wonderful though. Side note, I spent an hour reading the turtle patient stories on their site; I love the conservation efforts of this facility.
Finally getting to use the annual membership. Great Saturday afternoon @ the aquarium. No lines and laid back experience. Highly recommended!
I love aquariums and the experience that comes with them. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive. It’s essentially 60 for me and my partner to go. I’m a college student and frankly that’s just to much. Even looking at what my mom would have to pay to take two little ones. It is just seems like a lot.
A wonderful Charleston institution doing wonderful things for the lowcountry and our environment. The turtle hospital is so impressive and very successful. The behind the scenes view is awesome, especially for kids to soak in. Tons to learn here and be awed by.If your a tourist, this should be on the list as a great escape from heat, rain and crowds. If youre a local, get a membership. Visit to learn about the new things theyre involved in like a turtle release. New parents, this is your peaceful morning outing for you and baby. Anyone interested in preserving our local environment, support SCA.
Great Aquarium well worth the visit. We also enjoyed seeing several dolphins in the bay while we were there. Right next to the Fort Sumpter visitor center. Lots if interactive experiences that have been adapted for COVID. Enthusiastic volunteers and staff who clearly love wildlife.
Takes just a couple hours tops. There is a small gift shop. My favorite is the turtle exhibit and hospital. Also a great experience was the Boo Trail. A lot of effort went into this seasonal addition, much like an acquatic haunted house, through the month of October. It does not take the place of the employees and special events previously available before corona but does add another level of excitement for the children. It is actually fun for all ages. I hear something for Christmas will follow.
Clean, medium-sized, Charleston attraction that Ive been coming to for many years. Depending on what package you get it can be pricey but the way you have to think about is that you are supporting the local marine life and environmental conservation work. Theres a great hands-on section for all ages including horse crabs, starfish and the like. Theres an outdoor stingray petting observation pool, a bald eagle, a large multi-leveled observation room with sea turtles, sharks, and large fish. All in all, a great place for family fun, or a date.
Had an amazing time!!! We enjoyed the veterinarian exhibit for the turtles, the 42 feet tank, and the Halloween haunted walk. I even touched the stingrays!!! They were super friendly!!!
Beautiful educational place great for families and they take every precaution to keep you safe in these crazy times
Great family outing! Definitely get out of it what you out it. We took our time and checked everything out well, you could easily blow thru it quickly and not enjoy your time.Kids loved the touch pools.
Really nice aquarium that has lots of easy to read directions and very COVID-19 safe!
Great way to spend a couple hours if you have kids or to take someone on a date. Dont expect the Atlanta Aquarium though, It was a small yet filled with educational information. My 2 year old had a blast looking at the turtles that are being rehabilitated and feeding the stingrays. Due to covid you do have to wear a mask, although they have places to take a breather and the cafeteria is closed so bring snacks for your little ones. Honestly its great for kids because its short enough they wont get restless.
Great place to visit especially for kids. Amazing location, exhibits, friendly and welcoming staff. Def recommend a visit if u r in Charleston. We took the all day long boat rides across the river ( separate fee and company runs it ) to visit other places from the aquarium.
Beautiful aquarium. Staff was so nice and helpful.
Great way to spend a couple hours in downtown Charleston. Friendly, helpful staff. Awesome touch tanks and very kid friendly! Be sure to check out the dive shows as well.
Absolutely the best actuarial I’ve ever visited! Beautiful attention to detail, social distances reminders and helpers throughout the entire place. I’m so impressed that I know I’ll be back!
Very small aquarium but packed with some impressive aquatic life! The sea turtle rescue makes it worth while hands down. It only takes 1.5 to2 hours max if you do not watch the movies. I highly recommend going to one of the sea turtle talks with the lead vet, it was incredibly informative and my kids ages 15, 15 and 11 loved it. It was fun to see toddlers enjoying it in the crowd as well! Lots of giveaways and a great gift shop.
We have been members of the SC Aquarium for a couple of years but had not visit since onset of COVID19. After hearing good things about their safety protocols, we visited last weekend. Everything was very clean. Masks were worn. Signage was prevalent and hand sanitizer abundant. The staff did an excellent job of keeping everyone as safe as possible. Please dont hesistate to reserve your time slot online and visit. They really need our support right now! Save the turtles!
This place is a beauty that must be experienced in person, so I tried to limit the pictures attached to my review. I saw some reviews complain that the aquarium is small, but if you really enjoy looking at and learning about marine life, you could easily spend hours here. The experience was worth every cent of the ticket price. The aquarium is right on the ocean and you can tell the animals are well taken care of. Many are only in the care of the aquarium because they cannot be released into the wild. They have windows into the sea turtle recovery area so the people can look but its set up to not be traumatic to the healing turtles or to get them used to people. You can also go through their records of every turtle rehabbed and released for the past several years (I think since 2007?). They have two impressive touch tanks-- one where you can touch rays and another where you can see and touch sea stars, tiny anemones, horseshoe crabs, and dogfish sharks who love to be pet. I would have paid the ticket price just to see their 33-year-old turtle Caretta in the flesh. She is so graceful and beautiful to look at, not to mention huge! Their three-story deep ocean tank is fun for the whole family. Even as an adult I found myself running up and down the stairs to see it all. The staff is very nice and interactive; its obvious that they care that the guests have a good time and learn about ocean life during their visits. There are many opportunities in the gift shop to contribute to their sea turtle recovery unit!
10/10 would recommend. Otters were fabulous and lively. Facilities were clean and staff was friendly.
Great views of the harbor. Aquarium is split between two levels and is quite spacious which helps with social distancing. All staff were wearing masks and were quite polite and helpful. There are spacious and clean restrooms on both floors and a giftshop on the 1st floor. There is also a balcony on the 2nd floor with benches to take a rest from wearing your mask. Be aware that all visitors must wear masks to visit the aquarium and social distancing signs are everywhere. There is an outside area on the 1st floor where one can touch the stingrays and see them in the large tank they occupy. I managed to take video of me touching the stingrays who actually come up to the surface to be touched. I also took good video of the stingrays underwater in the tank via the glass viewing area. There is also an enclosed (netting above and around the area) outdoor area on the second floor which has fish in a oval tank surrounded by marsh area which is occupied by two pelicans and four other birds. There is a second tank in the middle with small sharks. Inside on the second floor near the outdoor area is another tank where one can touch small sharks. The main attraction is a two story tank occupied by various fish species to include sharks and also large sea turtle(s).Overall this was a great experience. Kids of all ages will enjoy the aquarium which costs 30 dollars per adult. It was worth it! I highly recommend a visit to the South Carolina Aquarium at Charleston.
Just go and enjoy it!! Wish I could take the baby sting ray home with me.
There was alot to see. Very cool experience feeding the rays. Kids had a blast!!! Expensive for sure, however, it is an AMAZING aquarium!!
Nice aquarium. Needs enlargement. Not enough to do to fill up a nice part of your day. Decent gift shop. I absolutely love the penny crushing machine. They are hard to find now days and they had 3 machines with 4 choices each. Nice selection. Prices were a little expensive in the gift shop. Didnt find anything I had to have or couldnt live without. Especially enjoyed touching the dog shark I think it was. I spent at least 30 minutes there. They were so sociable.
Had so much fun! The prices in the gift shop were a bit much considering I just spent 70$ to get two people inside but otherwise it was a fun time! Lots to see and do. Plenty of stuff for kids of all ages. I reccomend stopping here and feeding the stingrays. Wonderful experience!
We came to visit the aquarium while on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. We loved watching dolphins play in the Charleston Harbor and feeding the sting rays in the Shallows tank! There was an employee whose name we didn’t catch — recently moved to Charleston from Kentucky, strawberry blonde/red hair — who was soooo nice and informative! We ran into her at a few exhibits and she was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us behind the scenes info on all sorts of cool things like the turtle rescue center. We want to thank her for her cheerful smile! It really made the visit more fun to chat with her.
I have been here so many time and every tine I go back it’s like my first its my favorite place to go to and just seat around and see all the beautiful aquariums and all the different species here I just love this place!
One of the nicest Aquariums Ive been to. The layout is so clever and from an educational standpoint, they did it RIGHT. The informational signage is so well done. Its a shame a lot of interactive experiences needed to be closed due to covid. Seemed like a lot of awesome opportunities for younger visitors to get hands on learning. Also, I have never been to a sting ray touch tank where the Rays were like puppies. They wanted to be pet.
Thought theyre would be more.. however it was an enjoyable experience. I touched a stingray
Awesome place. Not a huge aquarium but well kept and still lots to see. Parking fee isn’t too expensive seeing that you will only be there few hours. Beware there is a fee though for parking in garage that isn’t including in your ticket price. The best part I think is feeding the stingrays. Price to feed is a little steep at $5 a bowl. The bowl contains three small fish, dead to avoid confusion, to feed the rays. Worth the $5 but adds up quickly with kids.
A fantastic attraction for the whole family. The sea turtle rescue exhibit was very informative and interactive. The great ocean tank programs with the interactive use of website was unique. All of the staff was courteous and helpful. The entire aquarium is clean and cool (a must for the summer)! The price is a little high, but always well worth it.
It was fun, educational, and cool. I love seeing the pufferfish its really awesome but a little scary in the Halloween Haunted House♡! But its really fun and ️
Good aquarium for younger children. Not very big but lots of interactive things for toddlers. They are doing some great things for wildlife so I felt that even though it was a little pricey, it went to a great cause. Parking was easy across the street but probably due to the lack of tourists during Covid period. Thank you.
This South Carolina aquarium had a nice amount of fishes, turtles, and rays. We are allowed to touch the rays. Also, the employees are super friendly and they clear speak the fish abilities. Here the entry fee is $29.95 per adult and for parking $1 hourly. There is a shop inside the aquarium where you can buy many stuffs like history books, kids story books, toys, key chain, clothes, some decorating glass pots that lit at night with the help of phosphorus content in it .
A fantastic place to spend the day in Charleston! We bought season passes for 2018 and loved going there and taking guests. They were surprised by how big the aquarium was and how many animals are there to see and touch! Highlights are definitely the stingray touch tank and sea turtle hospital. I also loved the trading post were you can bring in items you find out on the coast and trade it for an item they have there. Really fun idea.
Our family of 4 (kids age 8 and 7) really enjoyed the 2 hours we spent here. It is very well kept and theres a lot more than just sea creatures. Laura, from Nebraska, was an excellent guide and even took our kids on some behind the scenes experiences.
Pretty cool experience. You dont always think of going to an aquarium when you think exciting or must do fun, but this was worth it. I would highly recommend, especially if you want to get out of the heat and take in some incredible sea life.
Really neat aquarium. I especially loved the turtle conservative area where we could follow along with the recovery efforts for rescued sea turtles. The hands-on area was also super cool. Its not a big place, and its pricey, but its a nice way to spend a few hours while in Charleston.
Very nice place for the family. The water views are absolutely astounding. Its a very modest aquarium, 2 levels. The staff was very helpful and gave a wealth of information for the visitors.
Great place for kids and adults. Main problem is no toddler toliets for boys. But over all my kids are 2,3,8,13,13, and 15 and they love this place worth the year pass. If you have a water loving family. They have a active animal hospital, multiple aquariums. Petting water tanks. On bottom and top floor. But really miss the theater they had.
A wonderful aquarium highlighting South Carolinas aquatic wildlife from the coast to the Piedmont, now with a Sea Turtle Rescue Facility added. The staff is friendly and informative. Sitting at the tanks at watching the fish swim around is amazingly relaxing.
I really enjoy the South Carolina Aquarium as an aquarium and an event space venue. In most recent years I have attended the aquarium mostly for events and it is awesome to be there at night among all of the fish, sharks, and other sea and wildlife. Sometimes it feels a little off eating seafood in front of the fish, but I keep doing it anyway. This place really captures the imagination and does it in an educational way that is really great. The staff here allows you to run around and have fun in a responsible way that does not stop the good time. I am happy that this venue exists and I have always had a really great time at the South Carolina Aquarium and look forward to coming back many times in the future.
Its nice but it costs a lot for being so small.Taking the time to reply to my review and explain the cost makes this worth 5 stars. Thank you.
Staff is very friendly and adorable.
Always fun. Neat place. Wish they had a little bit more in there though.
Though entrance fees felt a bit steep, a visit here is well worth the expense. The two story enclosure is superlative with many varieties of sea animals. All the other exhibits are wonderful, as well. Exhibits are interesting and educational, with several hands-on activities for kids of all ages, e.g. petting dog sharks, star fish, and a few other critters. The gift shop was fun, and the restrooms were immaculate.
Loved our visit. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! It was very entertaining and the animals were wonderful. The snack bar wasnt kosher or halal friendly but thats my only complaint.
I was floored by this facility. The building itself is beautiful, convenient to downtown (walkable from countless hotels), and well laid out. Im an adult and I thought the exhibits are fantastic. What youll see focuses mainly on species local to the region, their habitats, diet, movement, etc. You can get interactive with some species (although I didnt), attend presentations, or just go at your own pace. I chatted with a number of staff members who were very knowledgeable and eager to share information. They seemed like they absolutely loved their jobs!Since some of the reviews mention the price, note that this is a nonprofit facility as I learned, so instead of benefiting from tax dollar support, they rely on admission and donations to run the facility, which does some amazing conservation work on and off site. So visitors shouldnt think twice about the cost if its something they can manage. The money goes to an incredible organization, and you get to see some awesome animals (fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds) and exhibits during your visit.
Excellent aquarium! Not huge but packed with amazing fish and information. The sea turtle rehab area is top notch. It is a real rehab area with sea turtles they are preparing to eventually release. You can see the turtles in their tanks, read about each turtles story, and see turtle Xrays. They have a CT scanner for the turtles and and exercise tank as a last step before they release them. So worth the trip. Amazing!
Super great staff. Super helpful. Everything was clean as it could be. Great experience
Great visit! The aquarium was diverse and informative. But I was confused about the bald eagle exhibit on the second floor ...was even more confused by the sounds of other birds at this exhibit, the eagle seemed uneasy and jumpy...I was made even more confused when the eagle flew, talons first, towards my 3 yo who was in my arms while we read the plaques. Never been that close to an eagle before and never will again. The enclosure was just vertical cables/lines so glad they held up.
My wife and I were super excited to take our 17 month old daughter the aquarium. But upon arrival after a 2 1/2 hour drive we were hit with utter disappointment after entry realizing that this was one of the smallest aquariums weve ever seen. Definitely not worth the price of admission.
As a hobby fisherman, it was an amazing opportunity to see all the fish I try to catch. They have an fantastic array or different saltwater and freshwater fish along with birds, amphibians, and mammals. They also have a great exhibit of the importance of conservation which I greatly appreciated.
Very nice place to visit! Clean and well maintained. Kids of all ages can enjoy it.
This place is amazing for anyone. All ages will find something they like here. The stingray touch tank is amazing and theres a place to sit right outside to watch for dolphins with plenty of shade. The kids area with the touch tanks, see holes, and Lego area are perfect when youve got little ones who may need a break. The diver show is awesome to see and they do free kids face paintings on Saturday.
Really enjoyed the feeding the rays (its just a few fish pieces per ticket) and getting to see a good variety of fish plus a few other animals.
Great medium sized aquarium, and fun for a quick family trip without all of the crowds. Nice interactive exhibits as well. It is a little pricey for the size, but it goes to a good cause.
We love the aquarium, upset that Covid has shut down the childrens play area and the interactive areas. Also have been a member for years, and we have to now reserve a time to come which always seems to be hours later, but if i paid as a guest they would have enough room to let me in at an earlier time.
The entire family enjoyed our visit. Interacting with the scuba divers in the ocean exhibit was fun! A lot of the displays lacked information. There is a log near the eagle exhibit with a snake inside with absolutely no info. No sign, nothing. Otherwise, it was a nice experience. Just dont go there with Ga aquarium expectations!
Very nice aquarium. My granddaughters were able to feed the rays. We all enjoyed it.
We had a great time here! The aquarium is beautiful, very clean, organized and has a lot of marine life to learn about. The sting ray tank is nice too!
Great visit. We were able to watch the divers go into the big tank. It was the highlight of her day. The volunteer diver waved to her and gave her a fist pound from the opposite side of the glass. It is super kid friendly. So many activities for little hands to test out and experience. It is a great tool for hands on learning. My favorite part was seeing the bald eagle. Such an impressive bird. If you are a teacher, make sure you show your ID so you can get in for free.
Fantastic experience at SCA this last week! My wife and I were visiting Charleston and decided to purchase online tix for the aquarium the next day. (Oct 2020) We had a blast visiting this place! The exhibits were all very well kept and clean, the fishies and mammals all seemed happy and well kept. The variety of wildlife to view and experience, especially the petting tanks and giant mix tank in the middle were really amazing. The Halloween haunted trail was a kick in the pants, we enjoyed it even as adults.Really impressed by the staff interactions, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and very courteous. One of the employees had mentioned how bad of a year it has been during COVID, I felt very safe and with the guidelines in place and wash stations provided we always felt it was being properly handled for safety while still getting the chance to experience the wonderful sea life available. I hope business picks back up and you can maintain your wonderful staff, they helped make the experience a memorable one. Well be back to check on Liberty the Eagle soon! :)
This is a great aquarium... we had a great time. This was a really cool the kids really enjoyed the displays and the educational information provided. It was really cool to be able to pet sharks and have some hands on experiences. Feeding the stingrays was also really cool this is worth the price of admissions
I was super excited about visiting the aquarium. For 2 kids and adults it was over $80 and I don’t feel at all it was worth it. I could have spent less at the zoo and have more fun and excitement than I did here. It was soooo boring and dull. The best and most exciting was touching a few of the animals.
Very nice place to visit with your significant other or the kids. I really enjoyed all of the attractions there and I look forward to going back again! :)
Great size aquarium with a really neat assortment of fish and birds. We loved it!
Had a great time with the family! We had to pick a time to visit to limit occupants but, as a result, it wasnt very crowded!
Warning: Family of 4 > $100. Save your money for something memorable.
Great for the kids or a date.
This was a cool place to visit. A bit more expensive than other aquariums but they do a AAA discount so that helped. It is well laid out and they have an albino alligator. It was cool to see him stand under water. The aquarium shows some of the aquatic life in each of the regions of SC which is cool. There is a turtle rescue station in the aquarium that provides some of the details of the turtles as well. I would recommend it. It takes about 2 hours.
Tip 1: The street metered parking is free on Sundays and a much closer walk.Tip 2: You get a $25 discount off of any membership price with your military or dependent ID (I didnt see this anywhere on the website).Tip 3: If you dont have a military ID but have a Charleston County Parks Gold Pass you can get $15 off of any membership price.Tip 4: Bring Your Own water bottle to refill at the bottle/water fountain and your own snacks to eat in the eating area or purchase at the snack bar (mini personal pizzas, parfait sandwiches). We spent 5 hours at the aquarium. The interactive exhibits (waterworks, robotic crab/fish/crane, and airflow ducts) were a hit with our kids and we easily spent 1/3 of our time their alone. There is also a toddler play area, touch tanks, stingray touch tank, and various kid friendly stuff to climb on or do sprinkled throughout. The deepest tank in North America was absolutely mesmerizing and easily the favorite to sit and watch. There is a small snack bar and a nursing room just around the corner from the bathrooms (which our somewhat OCD child commented were nice and clean so thats a HUGE bonus). The staff were absolutely wonderful and the kids had a great first aquarium experience. The membership is a great deal of you plan to go twice! For our part the kids want to go back every week.
If you are an animal lover do not visit. I dont know who designed, implemented, or approved the Charleston Aquarium BUT the animals were not in the forefront of their plans. The majority of the animals are enclosed in spaces that are too small. The most disheartening is the American Eagle. The bird is listed as wounded but she actually looks depressed. Her cage is small, and her foot is tethered to a rope. Eagles are the rulers of the air. This poor bird was continuously looking upward seemingly longing to soar away. The small living enclosures continued for the various fish, snakes, albino alligator, & one smaller bird. The small tree frogs fared the best in regards to living space.Basically this aquarium is few steps above a circus. The animals are displayed for the amusement of people.
Wonderful exhibits. Lots of beautiful views youll captured.
The South Carolina Aquarium is a must for familys with small children. It wasnt too busy on a Monday morning. It isnt a huge aquarium, you should expect to get through it and experience it in about an hour and a half. The staff was great and informative. Aside from the great exhibits, there are a lot of interactive things to do. There are a lot of smaller animals being walked around by staff for everyone to see and touch. There is also a touch tank which is very neat and your child will definitely like it.
Great place to see lots of sea animals.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed the exhibits, well worth the money.
Did an awesome job adjusting and operating during the covid time. Staff was very informative, helpful, with great energy creating an awesome atmosphere!
Takes about an hour to tour if you read everything. For the price I expected it to be a bit bigger with more exhibits. The deep water tank was quite Imptessive. Lucked up an hit the bald eagle enclosure at feeding time.
It was exciting! Friendly staff and overall great experience!
Definitely a place to go if you are in the area. In addition to the fish, reptiles and sea turtles they have a bald eagle that was rescued. They have a very large tank to feed and touch stingrays. There are many activities for the family. If you are in the military they offer military discounts. Parking is near by and is reasonably priced. It is located within walking distance to shopping and dining.
This is a beautiful aquarium. My kids (8, 5, and 3) really enjoy it, and it is clean, well maintained, and interactive. The staff has also been very knowledgable. I have a precocious 8 year old, and theyve taught him something each time weve visited. Of course their most favorite are the touch tanks - rays, dogfish sharks, and starfish - but there is a lot more to learn and see. We have always been lucky enough to pet some animal ambassadors as well. The current Lego additions are also fun for them. They also really enjoy meeting the sea turtles who are being rehabilitated and playing the interactive game in that area. All in all, lots to see and do; the whole time we are there, everyone is having fun.The only downside is that it is somewhat expensive. We have a membership to the Riverbanks Zoo, which they offer a discount for. There are other organizations that, if you have a membership, the aquarium will give you a discount, it is on their website. To see everything takes us 2-2.5 hours.
Everything here is just so very nice. I loved it and I will definitely go again. A little small but in general you cant complain at all about anyting I really had a nice time. Very much worth the money
This was a wonderful Aquarium. We will come back and be sure we have more time than 2 hours next time. The bald eagle exhibit is absolutely a must and we loves the turtles!
I love Aquariums! This one is a little smaller than expected but good nonetheless...
Neat little aquarium. Great place to spend a couple of hours.
Well worth the extra money to feed the sting rays. Great place to visit and escape the heat.
Loved the lego exhibits. Staff was helpful and informative about animals. Kids enjoyed their time there
Really great aquarium!! Spent about 2 hours here and it was nice to get out of the heat and into the AC. The turtle hospital is incredible and has state-of-the-art equipment. The touch tanks were also really fun. Wide variety of habitats that take you from freshwater mountains to the ocean. Great views of the bridge into Charleston from the outside viewing area.
Awesome family place, you can spend all day looking and pictures around the Ripleys attractions.
Our favorite aquarium!! They have some of the sweetest, most informative staff we have ever encountered. Well done!
What an awesome aquarium. Clean and fun. The staff is awesome!! My daughter loved feeding the sting rays. Very educational and fun selection of animals on display. They have a sea turtle rescue center ran out of it. So cool! A must stop when in charleston.
We have a 3 year old daughter and she loved the aquarium. There are birds, fish, snakes and turtles. There are also blocks to play with and attractions for all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful. Some of the displays were a little small and I felt bad for the animals in them. It is great experience for kids though.
