Nice museum full of UNC artifacts from special games and former players. A must visit if you are a Carolina fan. The Michael Jordan exhibit is neat to see (no spoilers). The lady who sits out front was super nice. We enjoyed the stories about Dean Smith and some of the old players that she shared with us.
Finally had the chance to visit the museum. We weren’t disappointed. We went during a quiet time so we found parking across the street - most of the parking lot is for permit holders but they have maybe 1/2 doz visitor parking (pay at the machine). The museum was very interesting and truly nostalgic. So much history displayed.
Was driving though and just had to stop here since Ive never been to the UNC campus. This museum is amazing and full of UNC history. Its laid out very well and it is completely free. We did have to pay for parking just down the street in a parking garage but it was inexpensive and easy to get in and out of. Tried to visit the Dean Center but it was closed.
As a Michael Jordan fan this was a must on places I wanted to visit. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. There was some renovation going on when I went which made it somewhat difficult to get to but absolutely worth it. I visited when on vacation with my dad and little sister and in spite of my sisters scepticism she said she enjoyed it. It was free to visit and they usually do group tours so if its only a few in your group you may have to wait for others to come along. They showed a video at the beginning highlighting some of the history of UNC Basketball which was great and then they let you walk around and enjoy the exhibits. The overall experience was great!
Wonderful displays and videos. Heavenly place to be for a true UNC fan! Loads of material and too much for one day to see and enjoy it all. Only complaint was there were no benches to stop for a break and rest! Harder for older folks!
Great place. Had a lot of fun visiting the museum. It is really kind of awe inspiring to see all of the sports history their organization has laid claim to.
This museum is free and is really neat. You can spend about a half an hour to an hour looking at the exhibits. It was a little hard to find where to park. There are only a few dedicated parking spots across the street. I would recommend to anyone to go to this Museum. It did not disappoint
Wow!! I was impressed by all the memorabilia inside the museum. It could take hours to view it all. Great collection covering the early years of basketball up until as recent as last year.
Great museum!! The lady that met us at the door should retire!! All she talked about was herself and how she worked for Coach K and loved him. She went to Coach K’s daughter’s wedding and got to meet Oprah through him. I want to listen to someone who loves UNC as much as I do!! Xxoo
If u are a true die hard Carolina fan this is a must stop in the hill
Its indescribable the feeling I had visiting the museum -- seeing the rings and the video that is played at the beginning of the tour. Definitely an important stop for real fans.
Always a great place to visit, especially if youre a Carolina fan. Staff is always pleasant and accommodating, and every year, something new is put up. If not a UNC fan, a basketball fan would enjoy it
Everything is nice . It well worth the time. All day trip dont b n a rush.
It was great. I loved seeing all the championship rings, the shoes. I loved everything.
Wonderful museum for any Tarheel basketball lover. So many trophies, stats, players you grew up loving and memorabilia that is worth spending some time around.
Great place to visit and great staff A +
I host of activities for children. It almost make me feel like being a kid another.
Great place to visit, I had a very nice time learning a lot from this sport with all the names from this museum, aslo they keep it very clean!
This was a great experience to have as a non UNC basketball fan. The museum is full of rich history from player biographies, championship rings, and memories from past gland present glory. I especially liked the gym shoes on the court around the museum showing where all the great shots had been taken from. I went for an hour and I think that was an appropriate time in the museum. When you enter you will first watch a short video before entering the main room.
An interesting museum even if you arent a huge basketball fan.
1st off, Im a DUKE fan forever but it was my nephew Tyler Wests birthday. Hes a diehard Carolina fan & I surprised him with this visit for his 28th birthday. It was a hot day, but we enjoyed touring the basketball, football, & baseball stadiums & museums. Everyone on campus was very polite and helpful and best of all, it made my nephews day very special. He couldnt stop smiling & Im glad I was able to do that for him. If youre a Carolina fan...DO IT!!
Wonderful tribute to one of the finest basketball programs in the country.
Great fun to see all the UNC stats, photos and the movie is amazing of all the UNC great basket ball players.
Good video but have to either stand or sit on floor. Fine for us but maybe not for elders. Loved the museum.
Great place to visit and to learn more about modern basketball and famous players
Great place to visit. Not overly crowded so plenty of time to peruse the exhibits. Also so nice and cool as opposed to the outside.
I feel like I kind of rushed thru last time... Cant wait to spend more time.... This was just an amazing experience! Go Tar Heels!
This museum is awsome. Takes you back to when basketball was a sport not a business.
Great collection of UNC BB historical artifacts
Excellent! I liked the way that they had jerseys and other things from the players
It was cool to see a 18 year old MJ
I am always a fan of Jordan. To see part of his history is always something interesting
Every Tarheel should go and spend some time here. Great game day activity.
A true basketball fan from Cleveland Ohio, I love the Tar Heels. Ive been watching them my whole life! (40)
I gave two stars because we were not able to visit the Museum because of the parking situation. We drove all the way to the campus specifically for this museum for nothing. There were only a handful of spots with numbers for the meter and rest did not have numbers so we werent able to use the meter. We asked several people, including employees and they could not tell us anything. We left annoyed, disappointed and without getting to visit the Museum. Very upset UNC fans.
Was worth the drive if youre a Tar Heels Fan!
Love it! Great display of BB history and of course THE greatest college program. But, seriously, the layout and way things are presented make for a fun look at the program over the years.
Very cool place! My family really enjoyed seeing everything. Worth coming just for the experience!
One of the greatest sports history spots Ive ever seen...the prestige & legacy captured in that building are amazing.
I really enjoyed the museum and the very nice lady sitting up from that is very polite and tells you what to expect when you enter.
