I recently got fit somewhere else, but their prices to build the set was way too expensive. After doing some research for club builders, I contacted The Golf Lab and inquired about prices to build my set. I had bought everything online and brought it in and they were more than willing to price out the labor. They were so quick to respond and gave a very fair price to build my set!I brought a spreadsheet in for their builder, Bruce, to reference and he did a great job! I am very happy that I was able to find these guys, and highly recommend checking them out.
It looks like a good store but doesnt follow its operating hours. I tried to visit twice when it was supposed to be open - it wasnt. Called on the phone twice: first time, constant ringing and no answer, second time - two rings and then a quick hang up. Not sure how this business model works. I hope the owner is ok.
High end shafts and products. Awesome place. Bruce is the man. I won’t let anyone else in town work on my clubs. Great place to get fit or any repairs you need. Huge selection of hard to get shafts
I had an iron fitting on their GCquad launch monitor for a set of irons I bought on my own. This helped me get club data for each swing. With their help, we were able to determine that some shaft changes were needed.I worked primarily with their club builder, Bruce. He was great to work with and took time to help me get my clubs to how I wanted them despite club length and swingweight challenges. I will definitely be back for any club needs. My only note: I tried calling the number listed many times and didnt get a hold of anyone. Id suggest email or using their online appointment tool on their website. Thanks Bruce!
Super friendly staff, professionals all around. 100+ years of golf experience among them. Willing to come in on weekends and closed hours for customers. Very clean facility with high tech and top of the line equipment for golf teaching/learning. Can identify bad habits, correct and improve every swing. Place to go for every level of golfers from beginning to professionals. Highly recommend!!!!!
Ive recently re-shafted my irons with Bruce at The Golf Lab. Specifically the Oban shafts, which are harder to demo at most stores. Ive been to all of the golf shops in the area (i.e. 2nd swing, golfdom, galaxy, etc), and shopped online as well. honestly had my best experience with the golf lab. Even though its a smaller shop (physically), I was also able to try out various head/shaft/flex combinations before committing, and Bruce was patient throughout the process which I really appreciate. They also have a lot of Japanese brands (if that interests you), which is are in the DMV area. Absolutely recommend Bruce/team, and will continue to go there for my future club changes.
I found the golf lab online looking for a place to get rid of some problems I had in my bag, most of which came from the poor fittings from the so called top rated places in the area. First of all, they listened to what I wanted instead of them deciding for me. After shortening my driver, I was impressed with the results, not going back to the Maryland place. So then we changed the shafts in my wedges and now I actually like Cleveland wedges. If you want a place youre not just another appointment, check this place out. Im glad I did.
Really nice small golf shop. Very helpful, will continue to go here.
There are may golf shops I have been to, but they dont compare to the Golf Lab. I basically got my whole entire golf set from there. They introduced me to some Japanese brands that I didnt know very well, but they feel amazing. The irons are Mizar Vega with Shimada shafts and they feel great. I wouldnt even have come across these clubs if it wasnt for the Golf Lab. They also, fitted me with a Paderson driver shaft that I cant even describe how wonderful it is. They have all sorts of exotic shafts that are top of the line that they will gladly fit you to your swing. They truly are dedicated in putting their time and effort in puring each club for you. They are great people to spend time with in and out of the golf shop and are honest in giving the best price to each and every customer.
I am looking for a professional fitting for a new driver and I found the Golf Lab nearby using a google search. After a short phone call they blocked off some time for me the following day. Upon walking into the store, I was immediately impressed at the setup, the selection and how inviting and friendly the staff were.I could tell right away that my fitting was not going to be a rush job like Ive gotten at larger retailers who just wanted to sell me a club. They worked with me, identifying my common misses and were incredibly patient and reassuring. They explained the process, gave me as much warm up time as I wanted and even provided me with refreshments to take a break.Because we amateurs are usually inconsistent on a day to day basis, they wanted me to come back the next day and continue to work on the fitting. Heres where they went above and beyond: they only charge for the fitting... not the time it takes to achieve it. I paid once and they explained Im welcome to come back as many times as it takes to find the right equipment for me at NO CHARGE.Through both sessions now (probably 4 hours total) they explained my numbers on their superb launch monitor setup, showing my target relative to my swingspeed. There was even a professional swing coach available in the last session that helped me with some swing flaws. Honestly, Im blown away. I think Id just hang out here if theyd let me. I know with 100% certainty that when I do pull the trigger on a new driver, it will be MY DRIVER, setup especially for me and my game.So you can buy a driver off the rack at a sporting goods store and know next to nothing about it, but me? Ill never make another major club purchase without stopping in here first. No sense in wasting money on a 30 minute session and a roll of the dice somewhere else, only to find out you need to re-learn the game to hit your new clubs well.Bravo to you, Golf Lab. You are the professionals I never knew I needed.
I checked out the store a few months ago. Just to look. Had a nice talk with Jin about his process and equipment while checking out the store. He has access to brands that are true quality vs marketing.Mizzy, Bridgestone, Muria. Plenty of Shaft options, etc. After our conversation, I felt he was the real deal. Had to get me out of old Mizzuno set (which is still awesome) and get me into something that feels similar but could maybe add some help.Went back a month or two later. No pressure in any situation.Process took longer because I had too many questions...but...no extra charge which is essentially giving me $$$.My Advise...take your time, and just let him pick your shaft...dont over think that, just let him pick it. You worry about your budget and how the head feels and looks to your eye at address. He knows the shafts that will work.Go back and hit twice (doubt hell charge you) he does not care. He wants you to do the process and get the best fitting club ...even if it takes longer than normal.FYI - Dont even hit the Yonxy - nothing beats the Yonex head. Dont try unless you want to go over budget. ;-)Thank you Jin. Im going to have your pro give me a few lessons as well. Soon.
Good everything
Very good place..
