Was in from out of town. Took my son to shoot the new shotgun I had purchased recently. They don’t allow shotguns at the range where I’m from. So I was super happy that they do. Just make sure you bring approved ammo for this establishment. If not they will sell you some at an affordable price.Absolutely the best place I’ve ever been to shoot for fun!! The staff was way above and beyond a 5 star rating!!! I’ll be back every time I come into town!!
Really well kept range, clean, not too expensive. You can rent their guns to shoot too which is really nice! Definitely check the place out.
Terrific service and amenities. Very knowledgeable staff willing to help out with anything customers need.
Full disclosure I just became a member. They have a decent selection and at reasonable and competitive prices. I appreciate the discounts on sales, rentals and range time. The range is perfect for my needs. The employees are real friendly, patient and knowledgeable.
Called to inquire about .9mm and .223 ammo. I was told .223 was for sale for range use only and not for outside purchase. Additionally the .9mm was available for both. I drive over to use the range and was told they dont have either available and they were out for quite some time.No surprise, everyone is out or short, but thats why I called first. Get it together, people. Ugh**Talked to management, he seemed genuine and apologized for the confusion. Ill add a star back for him.
Great place to get and/or build confidence with your CCW and practice. Take the classes that are offered so you know what the rules and laws are when you carry. Ask questions, staff are very helpful.Ive taken three of the classes so far. Very professional (ex-instructor myself) and very informative.I have also purchased two handguns from them at reasonable prices (member) one of which I ordered on line through their website and had it delivered to the Club. They called when it arrived, easy pick-up and registration.Nice waiting area, good coffee and conversation. Thanks.
Came here after going to the Egan location a couple of times. I can’t praise this company enough, the employees are all obviously very passionate about firearms and shooting. They are all very helpful and willing to take the time to talk to you about guns and help you with anything you need. The range is state of the art and is maintained at very high standard. Also great prices on rentals and lane fees. If you’re looking for a shooting range to call home, this is it.
Very good customer service with Daniel. All my questions were answered respectfully, I will drive a little extra for a good experience with staff here.
DJ was awesome. He helped me with my grip and stance and I hit the bullseye 3 straight shots after his assistance. Tom assisted us before our shooting event and was very helpful! Great time!
Just got back from my first trip to your facility and I have to say i am Impressed. The staff was courteous and very helpful, the firing range was excellent, the range officer was very friendly and was helping out a new shooter in the bay next to me.I brought my own pistols but it looked like they had an excellent selection of rental guns, they also rent for a nominal price ear and eye protection as I forgot mine.I would say if you are considering getting into shooting as a hobby or want to get your carry permit I would highly recommend Stock and BarreIThanks Guys
DJ has customer service that is hard to come by! You can tell he works hard, at what he does, cares about every customer that comes in, and truly has a passion in this industry! He made us feel very welcomed and was there to answer any questions we had. Make sure to ask for him! He is the best of the best!
I took their hybrid carry course. It was fantastic. Simple and easy while maintaining to be educational. Watch the video and then go in to shoot for them. Couldn’t have been more simple. I loved that. I’ve taken courses before that ran 8 hours, which is great for new beginners. But for someone who has just let their permit lapse, this was perfect. The layout of the range is modern and classy. The folks working there clearly love their jobs and are all helpful. They did seem to be pretty busy on weekends, so if you’re needing help with something you’ll just need to be patient. But when you do get your turn in line they are very accommodating and friendly. This place reminded me of a nice cigar lounge, but with guns. Loved it.
Been coming to stock and barrel for a while now and it’s always safe and fun! DJ the range safety officer does a great job at maintaining a safe and fun environment to shoot in! Stock and barrel has blossomed my enthusiasm for the sport of shooting! 5-stars all day... Say hi to DJ when you get there!
DJ has customer service that is next level. You can tell he works hard, cares about every customer that comes in, and truly has a passion in this industry. He is always willing to give tips and pointers to improve your shooting. Ask for him when you go in! 10/10 recommend!
Visited last night (Valentines) with my wife. DJ went above and beyond to help my wife feel comfortable and provided some great advice. She immediately saw results and was so excited about our experience that she is already talking about going back. Thank DJ!!
Clean and fast service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
DJ was phenomenal. I don’t often write google reviews, but after the instructing DJ was kind enough to provide my girlfriend and I, I needed to take this moment to publicly applaud him.Thank you DJ!
I went Monday with my husband to rent a couple of guns and then buy one. At the rental desk the first question out of their mouth was if we were a member and we stated no. They seemed not to want to help us, though never presented us with a chance to be a member either. We were asking questions and the staff seemed annoyed. They also never addressed me, they only wanted to talk to my husband; even when my husband tried to get them to engage with me, they still would only talk to him. We rented our guns, the range is nice enough. We finished and were ready to buy one, but no help was offered. We walked out and will not be walking back in. They just lost 2 sales, one for him and one for me. I may be a beginner and a woman, but that does not make me any less valuable and my money any less green.
Ive went to this range for the past few years and loved it; its clean and the atmosphere is great. However when I finally decided to purchase something from them, I ran into issues. Dealt with someone named Melissa who was rude and unhelpful. Decided to take my business elsewhere. I actually spent more money at another shop but Id rather do that than deal with Stock and Barrel ever again. If you just use the range, this is the place to go, but if you ever want to purchase anything, I suggest you go elsewhere.
Dj was a great help with helping introduce my friend who was a first time shooter stock and barrel is a great environment for first time shooters
TL;DR: Great facility with friendly staff and I highly recommend having Mike as an instructor.Came here to take the Basic Handgun & Range Safety class. I got there a little bit early to look around the store before going to class. This place is nice--the store is very clean and the customer service was excellent. The people were friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. There was a little bit of confusion about which room the class was going to be in, but once the class started, everything was great. Our instructor, Mike, was very knowledgeable and down to earth. He did a great job of explaining the core concepts to understand when operating a handgun. He demonstrated everything very clearly for each one of us to see and was more than happy to answer any questions that we had. My only critique would be limiting the class sizes so each one of use could have more individual time on the range and practice a little bit more. Overall, this was a great class for people who are new to handguns and I highly recommend Mike as an instructor.
Very friendly and professional. I highly recommend them, theyre glad to answer any questions and are very professional.
I had the best shooting range experience with my brother on my birthday.. really did have a lot a fun.. want to say a big shout out to Jeremiah who assisted us and ensured we had the best birthday experience.. Thank you
Attending the firearm safety and carry course and it was money well spent. We were fortunate enough to have the GM Mike instruct us. He is very knowledgeable and gave a thorough and compelling class. He uses real world situations when discussing situations which would warrant the use of a firearm. The facility is clean and well kept and you can tell the owner runs a tight ship from the level of customer service that you received from the employees. I highly recommend buying a membership as it is well worth it and since Ive gotten mine I have been to thier indoor range on several lunch breaks to brush up on shooting. I plan on attending the advance holster class in the very near future.
Great place to go. Really good people that work there, had a great experience buying a gun here. Will be getting a membership
This place is like luxury shooting...very very nice place indeed. They are professional and go out of their way to make sure the environment is safe for everyone. They have really cool products and even let me try one for free...it was the head phones that gave you ear protection but you could still hear humans voices in order to communicate. My boyfriend was also really impressed that they had a loading machine to load up bullets in one of his guns. My bf knows more about guns and shooting than I do, but even he was impressed that they had a machine to load up the bullets in his gun. The air quality is a lot better than other gun range places as well. Their bathrooms look like a bathroom that youd see in a five star restaurant...however, the best part (for me anyway) was the dog who was there. Hes such a sweet rescue dog and I really enjoyed petting him...hehe, he just made himself at home and plopped on my lap when I was taking a break outside. Yay for puppies!
Great indoor range. Staff is extremely helpful Range Officer are there to help you with any questions or concerns. They can also do a shooter evaluation if time permits.
Range is very nice. Employees were kind and helpful. However, I was here for the Permit to Carry class. Overall the class was poorly run. The first 45 minutes of lecture was selling the other classes he taught. The instructor, COO, had no handouts for us to read. There was zero structure to the class, just the instructor thinking off his feet. Felt bad for any student that is a first time permit holder, as I would be concerned about their training. There was an older man in the class that was on his iPad the entire class, he was never called on, the instructor didnt not challenge him with a scenario; had to assume it was a member of the club. Wouldnt recommend this class. While I shared many political views with the instructor, no one came to your class to hear your political views. Stick to teaching the class.
Amazing staff, all of them are so kind and helpful and truly want everyone to have a great time!!!! Randy, the general manager is incredible, he really took me under his wing and helped me in the virtual range (precision practice and virtual reality judgement training) and then helped me in the live range and coached me to get out of my head and make the best shots. I feel so confident and so happy! Since the first moment I came here, all the best to say about Stock and Barrel.
Renewed my carry permit in December 2018 and had a great time doing so. The instructor was very informative and he also had a great sense of humor which made the time spent enjoyable. From beginning to end the floor was always open for discussion with all questions being answered and nothing was ever left for second guessing. Ill definitely be returning for my next permit renewal. Stock & Barrel Gun Club is a professional and friendly place to visit.
This was my first indoor range. I found the people helpful and welcoming. I had a lot of questions, which they seemed happy to answer. The range safety guy was a nice fella, and even got me tools when I didnt bring any myself! As a first timer, I had a lot of fun, and couldnt believe how long I was there! I would definitely return. I liked their procedures with keeping the firearms in the wood section of the range, and the emphasis on safety without being a drill sergeant.
Outstanding experience!
Alot of fun!
Great staff, they are all friendly make you feel welcomed. great range my favorite indoor range in minnesota
Great gun club with friendly staff. The offer multiple courses aside from a range, gun sales, and a virtual range. The memberships may seem pricey at first, but if you shoot often, they are definitely worth it and they allow you to book a lane ahead of time online.
This is my new favorite indoor firing range.Very knowledgeable staff with loads of things to do including; range, training classes, even laser target shooting to help familiarize yourself with certain firearms without having the trouble of loud noises.I recommend this facility to all my friends and family. They also have great rates for single users and groups. Good place for a bachelor/ bachelorette party.
This place is great. Not only is the staff professional and knowledgeable, every person I have met there (and I have been there quite a few times) is friendly and always up to help or just discuss the finer points of firearm ownership. Very upscale joint- the restrooms even make you feel like you are at a country club. I recently took the conceal and carry class- it was fantastic. Mike, the instructor, kept the class interesting while still delivering all of the pertinent information in a concise, easy to understand manor. Highly recommended!!
The range itself is great, clean, no one bothers you while shooting. The customer service is terrible, never reply to emails. The only time I received a reply was when I inquired about becoming a member after that I never received a reply to any email even as a member. Most recently they sent me an email promising a free range pass if I took a survey, took the survey and never received my range pass or a reply to my email inquiring about said free range pass.
Very welcoming and helpful staff, we had a lot of fun and left when they had to close for the day. Instructions for beginners were very insightful.
I have used most of the ranges & clubs in the Twin City area and Stock & Barrel stands above the rest for a few reasons, the first is the supportive / friendly attitude that is common to all of the folks who work there. They really try to make going there into a fun, safe and rewarding experience. The second aspect that stands out is the quality of their training classes, and in particular their lead trainer Mike Reilly. Mike is exceptional because he brings his deep experience from other competitive scenarios to the gun training setting. One of the things that is common to competition - regardless of the form (chose any example) - is the focused support and encouragement that the individual receives from their your teammates, coach, etc. during their event. It’s such a vital component for success and improvement, and it’s not an element that all teachers understand. Mike does understand this element and he really enjoys sharing his knowledge in a patient, focused, and encouraging way!
Great customer service, clean range, staff are beyond knowledgeable on historic and current firearms. Only complaint, not a designated rifle range to stretch out on, but they accommodate heavier calibers which is a plus.
This is a clean and user friendly gun clip that offers 14 lanes of shooting up to 50 calibre guns. It is open to the public but will cater to its members.Everyone that I have come into contact with has been knowledgeable and friendly. They offer shooters tips and techniques to be the most efficient and accurate shots they can be. They stress safety and knowledge and offer a myriad of different classes.I have become a member I have been so impressed.
I joined the day Stock and Barrel opened. The Store is very warm and clean and is more like a lounge with a tv and comfy chairs to hang out before or after using the range (or waiting for the late shooting partner). The gun selection is great and always rotating. The gun cleaning room is great, all the tools and oils you need. The range is nice and well lit at 25 yards. So glad to have a place to shoot out West.
A very classy shooting experience for a surprising low price. The range is very clean and welcoming. the staff is highly knowledgeable, one member was able to see an issue in my rifle that I would never have seen without help. Not being able to shoot steel is a bummer but its a small concession for what you get in return.5/5 will be shooting there for a long time.
What a wonderful experience! I was nervous about going to the range since I dont have much experience shooting. I was extremely impressed. The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and patient, answering all my questions and making sure I was comfortable before we went on the range. It was great to try out the virtual shooting before we went on the range to get a feel for it. They had a great selection of rental guns, and it was so much fun to try different things! I will definitely be back with friends!
This is a very classy place. The people were helpful, friendly and welcoming. The range is clean and top notch. Lots of little thoughtful extras that make this place stand above the rest. (Speed loaders to use, gun cleaning room, the lost goes on...) Cant forget to mention the asthetics. Beautiful!
Nice clean range, very helpful with NFA sales, takes all the hard work out. Membership is reasonable in cost and benefit.
I appreciate the helpful and accommodating staff. I have had the opportunity to bring new shooters and they always feel welcomed and not intimidated. The range officers are helpful. The facilities are best in class. You wont find a better club in the metro area.
I love Stock and Barrel. The employees are very friendly and very informed. I am somewhat new to shooting. It is fun to rent different guns each visit. They sell ammunition and guns there too. NI feel very comfortable there. I ask a lot of questions, and the employees have great suggestions. My husband is a member, and I am consider becoming one too.
Great gun range in the Twin Cities. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Nice selection of firearms, ammo, and accessories. Staff is always concerned with shooter safety, which makes everyone feel comfortable no matter what level of experience. Safe place to go and have a great time shooting.
Great range, its run professionally and the staff is helpful and friendly. I ended up joining as a member as I found myself shooting there quite a bit and the membership is WELL worth the price. Theres no need to shoot at any other indoor range!
I’ve been a member here since they opened. As someone who’s been to numerous gun ranges all over the metro, this is by far one of the best.Whether you’ve never touched a firearm or you’re a veteran shooter, this is the best place to visit. They also have a wide array of classes for every level. From firearm introduction to advanced self defense techniques, they offer it.With a clean facility and very professional, helpful and down to earth staff it simply cannot be beat.
Stock and Barrel is a first class facility. The employees are always polite and ready to help. The range is always clean and instruction is available. I have even made a purchase of a firearm which makes this a one stop shop. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone interested in firearms.
Best indoor shooting range! Very friendly and informative staff! Mike is the best guy to ask for help in shooting area. I drive an hour just to shoot here! Highly highly recommend Stock and Barrel!
Great indoor range with nice selection of rentals. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help you improve your skill set. We drive from Minneapolis to come here because of how nice the facilities and staff are.
Great virtual range with lots of game and course options! The actual range looked nice, and the staff was super helpful. The classrooms were very nice, and the entire facility is beautiful and well-maintained. I just wish it was closer to home!
Maybe good, maybe not, I don’t know. All three times I’ve come for the range I haven’t gotten in because too busy (30+ minutes wait). If you’re a member you can jump the line. Good for them, bad for nonmembers.
We frequent Stock and Barrel and always have such a positive experience. Their staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. The actual space is beautiful and always clean (unlike many other ranges Ive been to).
Stock and Barrel is an amazing club! I took my cc test at this location. This prompted me to return and make a firearm purchase. Their sales team is wonderful, knowledgeable and relaxed. As a woman this expierence was more than what I could ask for. I joined the club at the same time and visit the range weekly. Plenty of lanes and loaders at each. It is clean and the staff are top notch and professional. They often have specials and their class selection is impressive! I look forward to taking their classes! Highly recommend.
I come here about once a month and every time I do, it takes FOREVER to get checked in. Super long waits. RSOS ARE constantly over your shoulder. Staff are in organized and do not communicate well with each other or customers and they never seem to know how to use their computer system. On an extremely good note, the facility is VERY nice. Has a very comfortable lounge-like feeling. The products available for rent are quality and some of the staff are quite knowledgeable with firearms.
Everything I’ve read in the reviews so far, I have found to be true. This is a First-Class Gun Safety Training Facility. Just starting to learn about gun safety and how to shoot they Will help you. Looking for advanced training this is the place to acquire that training. Many of the staff come with extensive military back ground and many of them trained others to protect themselves.
Great staff. Member benefits are well worth the price! Instructors and curiculum are the highest quality and classrooms are the best I have seen.
My wife and I joiner the Stock and Barrel club in December of 2016, and we have had nothing but excellent attention and instruction from all the staff we have met at the Range check in and the range managers. My wife has never shot a hand gun before we joined and the range managers have given her some great pointers on how to hold the gun and fire it. I have also receive some pointers that have helped improve my shooting. We have enjoyed every session we have had and cannot say enough about how wonderful this facility is. I would highly recommend Stock and Barrel to anybody that has an interest in using a range or utilizing their Instructional opportunities; like a conceal and carry permit and the like!
My wife and I joined right when S&B opened. The crew at S&B were the main reason, neither of us had shot a pistol and we were elated to find out that any employee was eager to teach us without making us feel berated for not knowing. Help renting, purchasing along with great help on the range with safety, shooting fundamentals, questions or firearm issues. Coat hooks under the back tables would be a nice addition. hint/hint.
Poor customer service. Wanted to take a multi state CCW class but i didnt know which state licences were coved in the class. I couldnt find what states were covered in the class description so I called the range but the guy wouldnt tell me and kept telling me to look it up even after I told him I couldnt find what I was looking for in the description.
I love this place, its honestly the best gun range Ive been to since I moved to the cities (Ill admit I do prefer outdoor ranges). Not to mention I love the fact that with a membership I can go to the range as many times as I want for free (plus it helps that the range officers and all of the other employees are great people). They also let you rent any gun you want, and they always have the ammo for it available. No other gun range in the cities will get my business.
Stock & Barrel (S&B) is a professional, clean, bright and welcoming club. S&B is a comfortable environment for all shooters, regardless of experience, political persuasions and/or gender. The only agenda Ive felt from S&B has been that of the client -- all clients. Education, training and responsibility seem to be top priorities for S&B.Every single team member with whom my husband and I have interacted has been friendly, easily approachable and professional. They also are very knowledgeable about (and experienced with) many, many, many different types, brands, calibers and versions of firearms. Furthermore, they listen to questions and concerns to find a solution for the guest, whether or not it would be their (the team member) personal choice. The facility is open, bright and not funky-smelling. Multiple classes and trainings are held each month. They also have leagues available for folks to join.Other features that weve found to be positive are:✪ Its an FFL facility for on-site or online purchases;✪ Assortment of firearms and gear for rental and purchase✪ Concierge service to help bring in gear youd like to try and/or buy✪ Lockers/safes are available for firearm, ammunition or silencer storage;✪ Full-room, virtual training/practice with multiple scenarios, etc.✪ Online range reservation✪ Event/conference rooms and rental✪ Comfortable lounge
Took the CC course, Very detailed and through. Highly recommended.
Great staff, clean range, overall awesome place
Helpful and friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Not too busy. Went shooting 22 rifle with my son and it was a great environment to learn. Glad to see another option for shooting in the area.
Was a member.
First time going in here and was warmly Greeted by Kevin at the door. Very helpful. Shot about 20 rounds here with much help from Mike. He was patient with me and knowledgable. Considering it was my first time shooting a hand gun, I chose a 1911, it was his favorite! I will be going back for more. Thank you so much Stock and Barrel!
Its a great place. I only have two minor complaints. The lanes are pretty tight, and its only 25 Yards. Great friendly staff and pristine environment.
Poorly run and largely clueless. 9 days to ship a transfer! Worse yet was the loss of an incoming transfer! It wasfound a week later. Range is clean. I have dropped my membership!
Staff is always helpful and friendly. Range is clean, well maintained, and fun to shoot at. I especially like how they designed the shooting stations to match the decor of the lobby. Wood walls separate the lanes and the shooting benches are varnished wood as well.
Hands down the best range in the twin cities area. Staff is friendly and most importantly, available to answer your questions. The range is well maintained and clean every time I have been there. If you want to have a really good experience in a pleasant environment, this is the place to go. My experiences at the other ranges were everything from cramped lanes to rude staff. Stock and Barrel is a fun, safe range to go to.
I have been to many indoor ranges. I like this one the best. Its bright, clean and safe! All the people are super friendly and I feel very comfortable shooting there. I HIGHLY recommend it!
I was VERY intimidated going in to this! This was my first time firing any gun. The workers there were so patient, knowledgeable and encouraging-Especially Hans So I learned a lot and they made me feel at ease. Also they are very safety conscious which I appreciated being in a room with other people shooting.
Super nice facility. Great staff. Billy & Brett worked on my gun and got it back up to speed. Highly recommend!
Great selection of guns with a knowledgeable staff. Above all safety is observed from the front desks to the target range. Excellent place all around.
Organized, professional and courteous.Fast self-service check-in kiosk. Rentals available.Large selection of quality handguns for sale.Enjoyed the range time and club atmosphere.Safety events and related classes also available.
Aside from being too busy, this place was great. The staff was very good and the equipment was in great shape. They also allowed rapid firing a handgun which a lot of places do not so that was a bonus.
Uspsa league has been great this year great staff, and great group of people coming out.
Stock and Barrel has completely raised the bar for anybody involved in indoor shooting. It is a fantastic venue for beginners, casual sport shooters, competitive shooters, and professionals in law enforcement, security, and the military. The facility, the staff, the inventory, and the level of safety all put Stock and Barrel in a class by itself. And the management and staff are true advocates for guns owners, committed to competency, safety, training, and gun owners rights.
The staff here is extremely friendly and willing to help. I had forgotten my key to my lock so I couldnt shoot my shotgun. I asked if the had a bolt cutter. The staff went and found an angle grinder, took the gun outside and cut the lock off for me. They even have me a free new lock afterwards.I love that this is one of the few places you can shoot a rifle, shotgun, and pistol all in the same lane.
I joined before the place opened and am there at least once a week for league. Its the nicest range I have been to. Highly recommended.
Ive been to several ranges in several states, this club is by far the nicest of them all. Their customer service is superb. I had a problem with my Springfield xd. I showed it to their executive director and he ran some of the clubs ammo through it, some of my ammo and was able to diagnose the problem in only a few minutes. Dont waste your time at Bills. Take the time, make the drive down to Chanhassen. This club is truly one of a kind.
This was my first time at a shooting range. I felt welcomed, informed and comfortable. We had a great time and I think I found myself a new hobby!
The range officer and the people at the rental desk were awesome, it is a very clean and high quality establishment, no doubt about that. The rental prices are competitive if not cheaper than Bills. However they dont let you shoot steel cased ammo. Which I just bought 1000 rounds of Golden Tiger 7.62x39 for my SKS just for the range. So even though I have a range half mile from my house, I cant go there with my ammo. Back to Bills for now I guess.
The facilities are great and the staff is friendly. Only reason Im rating so low is for two reasons. 1) the range staff hover behind you when you shoot. This is fairly annoying. 2) You can not shoot cheap steel cases ammo here. I understand the need to ensure unsafe rounds dont end up on range but throwing out all steel cases is silly.
Nice facility, good prices. Only issue I have is that there seems to be a lot of miscommunication on what is acceptable shotgun rounds. I asked ahead of time what their restrictions were. I was told 8 shot or higher, no steel. When I went to the range tonight, I had the person at the counter check all the ammunition I brought with me. Gave me the all clear. Then, while on the firing line, I wast told by the RSO that its either slugs or 00 Buck. Ended up not being able to shoot my shotgun. They need to figure what the rule is and get everyone on board together. Really not cool.
A well-run place with free coffee, helpful range safety officers, and preferred booking for members. My wife and I both enjoy going when we have free time. Handguns and most rifles are allowed.
Great spot and great staff. Not your typical gun range, the staff does everything they can to make it a friendly, approachable environment whereas other clubs can have staff that can be condescending unless you are a combat decorated warrior. Its clean, comfortable and conveniently located (for me anyway). On Black Friday I went with my father in law and my 10 year old daughter and the range boss was super nice to my daughter and asked if she was going to shoot. As it turns out, their policy is that with adult supervision kids as young as 8 can shoot. So my daughter put about 80 rounds of .22 down range that day and she continues to enjoy going back. Shooting at S&B is now one of her favorite things to do. If a staff can make a 10 year old girl feel comfortable, that is saying something.
Ive shot at just about every club/range in the Twin Cities and Stick & Barrel is the best overall. The range is smaller than Bills in Hudson or Circle Pines, but much better maintained. The range staff at S&B are exceptional, Mike E. is the nicest RSO (Range Safety Officer) I have encountered. They desperately need to open a club in the east metro! My only issue, other than the lack of an eastern location, is the online lane reservation system. In several months it has only worked once for me. Ive given up and call for reservations.
Overall a good experience. The wait time could be more during the weekends.Update: They also invite you (+2) during your birth month for a free session. Ive recently received this email but havent checked if they just cover the lane charges or everything.
I am new to shooting a pistol and using a range. Stock and Barrel has had a lot of good information and provides a clean, comfortable and more importantly safe environment for me to hone my skills
Excellent facility and the staff is always friendly helpful!
I started going with a friend around the beginning of the year, first just to try out some stuff. I had never shot before and I was expecting a typical range. Nope.Stock and Barrel has 3 great things going for it- a great looking facility, well stocked rentals and pro shop, and most importantly an incredible staff. Its not easy to do that last one. But every last employee there has gone above and beyond for me. Im just a normal member like hundreds of others, yet Im treated like a close friend or family. Every question answered in detail. Staff members that dont just know my name, they know my tastes and let me know when theres a firearm for sale or rent that fits my tastes, or an event that is coming up, or classes I want to take. Their pro shop can get basically anything, and they do FFL transfers for peanuts. The RSOs are never too busy to help you out and give you pointers on how to improve. Theyre also very safety conscious- if someone breaks the rules of gun safety theyll make sure it stops and they will absolutely remove anyone who is being a safety risk. Having heard stories and seen videos online where people get hurt from safety failures, this is huge for me.Im very happy I found this place. Shooting is a fun experience every time!
