Fun place to hang out! We just had my sons birthday party. We loved the attention, the music and all the gifts. Great service! Thank you! =)
Great place to skate nice and open lots of activities and fans to try and keep you cool downside you still have to waer a mask so skate a few rounds then sit to get some air. I dont recomend any of the food several ppl stayed they had cold food but thought I would try it and they wernt wrong and food looked unappealing, these were cheese sticks and then look freezer burned and untoasted
Had fun. They practice the use of masks and the staff was nice. The place was clean and they only let a certain amount of people in, so it wasnt overly crowded. They seemed to be very aware of CDC requirements and enforced it to the best of their ability which gave us a sense of relief.
I rented the rink for some friends and I a couple of weekends ago. It was awesome! We got to pick our own music and skate around. We had to wear masks even in a small group, but that didnt take away from any of the fun. Would recommend for anyone trying to get a small group of people together to skate or party!
It’s good for kids to skate but the atmosphere is what makes me gives the place 2 stars. It’s not maintained well and the skates smell and the wrist gloves smell of sweat. Nothing is clean here and I wish they would also take better care of the bathrooms. I also wish we could actually hear the DJ, the audio quality is poor. Also, only a few arcade games actually work and all they give your kids is candy, candy, and even more candy Overall, not super impressed with this place :(
Overall good experience my first time here. People were friendly and staff was nice. Little overpriced on Sunday for adult skate at $10 a person though..
Good place for a kid party or school outing. They have little walkers for the kids. So they can get soft or.... just not fracture something. How embarrassing that the kids are such wimps now! Sorry. They are precious! They will have a great time.
It was fun took my daughter for her bday and friends they enjoyed themselves and my son did too
We had the place to ourselves. The two people on staff are what made the experience 5 stars. Informative, conversational, and overall had easy-going personalities and it made the experience seamless today. Had no hassle in our large group and the experience was stupendous because of it.
A great place for kids and adults. My Granddaughter had her birthday party there and it was a blast for all of us. Staff was super helpful. Well definitely be coming back.
I felt bad for the families who spend their hard earned money on parties for kids here. Dropped my daughter off and majority of machines not working. Looks like its been this way for months. Hard to believe reading all the comments they respond to that they have people replace them. Youd be better off going somewhere else.
Horrible service!!! Told me to leave for no reason... don’t come here go to great skate!!! Horrible skate rink!! Hard cookies!!!! Kyle deadass called the manager on us more like Karen!!
This place is the best my little sister had a birthday there and it wad all amazing. I rate it a 10/10 and I reccimend going there and having a birthday there
Id give this place a 5star BUT their wings took 45 minutes to get and they were kind of gross, not fried properly they had no pretzels music was good service was good. Other than the food and food prices its a chill spot to go to
Came here for a random birthday party and it turned out great, everybody had fun. Our host has been very helpful and I would say the best although he was very busy and I felt bad for the hosts. I think they need more people. He was hosting I think 4 more parties all at the same time to the point that he pretty much just became our server and everybody elses server and not necessarily a host. I give him 100% credit five stars for catering all the parties at a time! Amazing.
I was happy to see that precautions are being taken during this time with great service.
Upon arrival we could clearly see that the ticket lady was not aware that there was a fundraiser and wasnt aware that we had pre paid for the event. Clearly she looked sick and should have been home. Later on the same individual was seen behind the food counter. Either she had a fever or something as she was wiping her forehead but it was clear to us that she should not have been behind the food counter handling food. Overpriced pizza, no refills on drinks . DJ was awful. You could not understand a word he was saying when he was making announcements trying to engage the children while he was playing the the music. When the event was over should have had more than one individual behind the tour counter for these kids to redeem their tickets. Standing online for more than 30 minutes for these cheap toys was ridiculous. Suggestion when there is more than three people in a line put another person behind the counter to help its not rocket science. This establishment needs competition maybe then it will step up and offer better entertainment for our kids. No visible manager on site.
The process getting in and getting skates was slow. It took away from the section of time you have to skate. I appreciated the safety of providing wrist guards but they were so worn they would6stay on. They finally gave us new pairs after several old pairs wouldnt work.
We had an awesome time! The staff was wonderful.
Such a great place! People there were very attentive. The manager there tonight was fantastic.
Two weeks ago on a Sunday night session, the manager decided to kick everybody out an hour early. When I asked for my money back, she gave me two free passes for a future session. So two weeks later I showed up again on a Sunday night, with my free passes, and she said that I couldnt use them. I have never met a manager who was willing to rob the customers for half a penny.
Excellent customer service here! Katelyn went above and beyond to help me ou . And the man at the toy counter couldnt have been more pleasant. Superb customer service!!!
Best place ever! Take my kids every friday night. Great DJ. Everyone is friendly. Recommend it.
Its skate land!!! fun stuff!! Friendly staff.
I have not been there but just reading the comments i think you the manager should do sonething with the games fixing it and the skates and gloves plz Im going there when quarentine is over
Have been here twice in the last month and I prefer it over the Mesa location. It’s clean and well kept. All roller rink food is going to be a bit on the high side but that doesn’t bother me much because I don’t go to eat, I go to skate. I own my own skates and wrist guards so I have no opinion on the rentals or wrist guards for use. I suggest to anyone who plans on making this a family thing to do the same because it allows you to also be able to skate outdoors safely as well. The employees are very accommodating and kind. The sound system needs to be adjusted -gain is too high so when the DJ is speaking or making announcements it’s not as crisp as it should be and can be difficult to know what they are saying and causes distortion. It’s an easy fix if you have a sound person available to just do the adjustments. It would make a huge difference in the sound and with the clarity wouldn’t have to be up so high in the volume which would eliminate a lot of complaints about it being overly loud and still not understanding announcements. My nieces and nephew have a blast skating here and I enjoy being able to teach them and strengthen their skating abilities. It’s not been too overcrowded on the times I have been here. Mesa location is usually a more dense crowd of skaters which limits what you can do on the skate floor. We actually plan on going tonight and see the difference between day sessions and evening sessions. Overall I really enjoy it here. I like the Mesa location too on certain days, but overall I think I will travel the extra 2.5 miles and come to this location.
5 stars for keeping the skating spirit alive! Ive had my daughters birthday here, planned private parties for special occasions, and always come for adult night. Its always a great time. So much fun we run out of time. Our party host was awesome. We had over 20 people, kids and adults for my daughters birthday parties and we all loved it.Staff is friendly, facility is clean, lots of fun. I highly recommend coming to Skateland.
I held a birthday party for my daughter’s 11th Birthday here. I was very disappointed in the overall experience. The snack bar was usually unattended, and customers had to wait in line for quite awhile, and ultimately resort to finding a staff member on the floor who would ‘call someone in the office’ for assistance. Our party host was not attentive, and I had to find him on multiple occasions to request our pizzas and sodas (1.5 hours into our party). I also had to find a random staff member on the floor to request my cake and cotton candy tower, this was 15 minutes before our party was over. I had to light the candles and sing happy birthday and then wait longer until he came by and asked if we wanted serving stuff. I would recommend a supervisor or manager walk the floor and ensure customers are being cared for. Very poor experience and I would not recommend.
This place was an amazing experience.the dollar skates was amazing and very cheap. Lots of people are there and different levels of skating. They also offer skate lessons which I believe are amazing for the younger skaters. You dont feel like youre being overlooked when you are just a beginner and youll see advanced skaters around you. They usually will help you and theyre very vigilant on who is beginner and who is not. The food is pretty good the prices are fair. Would highly recommend!!!!!
As mentioned in a recent review, the music over shadows the DJ so it is hard to hear the announcements. Our visit this evening resulted in subpar service provided at the food counter. Yes, there is all you can eat pizza on Saturdays; however, the girl working the counter with glasses is not very warm. Also, we arrived at 730p. It is now 943pm and have just received a beverage that I went to the counter to ask for a refund for because I was given a buzzer to allow time for the slush machine to work. Upon seeking my refund, the cashier remembered the machine was working again. For the amount of money you pay for admission and other things, Id expect better service at minimum. The restrooms are also out dated and have an odor. Other than the above mentioned, the all you can eat pizza IS appreciated as it allows the kiddos to burn energy and stay full.
FYI 5 out of 27 arcade games actually work. I have no idea how this many people would go there. Did we all just give up? This place has a real post apocalyptic vibe. But it is great to teach kids about how the real world works. No matter how hard you try, everything is broken and no one cares. .
I have been here a bunch since August last year. Daughter got roller skates for her birthday and was skating daily throughout the house and every chance we could make it to the rink. After a month I got her some inline skates and the roller skates havent been touched since but the skating is still as frequent as possible. We like the transition to and from the rink as you can roll right on and off the rink (there is a step at the mesa rink). At the same time, there are only three smaller entry/exit points onto the rink (compare to mesa essentially being open on both straights) which can mean more congestion at these points which isnt usually a problem if you are paying attention. The floor is also not as sticky as the mesa rink so softer wheels (83-86A) are not an issue. But the floor is a bit bumpy in a couple areas. It was refinished or perhaps just repainted not too long ago which did improve the surface but didnt eliminate all of the bumps. The Chandler site also seems to do more glow skating (always fun) and less games (red light green light, hokey pokey, etc.) than the Mesa location. I dont think I have been at the Chandler location and seen or participated in a single game... but that could just be related to which skate sessions we are going to at each location. The ceiling height (compared to Mesa) is a huge advantage, makes the rink feel and rest of the place feel bigger and likely helps with air flow through the place. It also means more wall space that adds color to the glow skating.Cost varies with skate sessions but usually isnt bad. We havent been to this location for an adult skate so I cant comment what kind of vibe, crowd or policy changes take place though we noticed changes to all three at Mesa during adult skates.
This place is a total joke. They have 28 games here and 18 of them are labeled as not working. Several others dont work either. I only found three games in the whole place that work. Im watching several kids lose their tokens over and over on games and nobody seems to care. I mean come on, what a joke get your games fixed or quit selling tokens. They are ripping kids off.
They hosted my sons field trip that I got to chaperone... It was amazing... Clean... Friendly... Patient... Helpful... Educational...
Nice big facility, poorly maintained and dirty. Sticky floor by food counter, wet and slippery inside bathroom stalls. Staff was young but helpful and friendly.
So fun for families and surprising great pizza.. And.. Ohhhh fresh cotton candy. Great place to skate. And for the beginners get a skate mate. Helps without falling. Fun everytime we go.
We love to skate. The staff at Skateland was great. The wrist guards were so poorly maintained they were ineffective. The Velcro would no longer hold them on. The floor was bumpy where it had been patched and painted over making it hard for new skaters to keep their balance.
Nice place for beginners to try and learn about skating. My kids also enjoyed trying skating
Nice place, great instructors. We went to this place with our kids and some friends. The place is very nice, you will not be board as they have multiple fun stuff going on every single hour. The ambiance is very nice. Its not that expensive if you have your own roller skates.Kids love this place and its a good exercise for kids as well. .....................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Nickle and dime you on everything is the main drawback. $8 to get in, $3 for roller skates or $4 for roller blades, and the an extra $6 rental if you bring kids who need to use one of the walkers...thats the crazy one to me for a family place. If youre bringing a young family be aware, the cost just climbs. Dont wear a hat, not aloud, no cell phone or cameras out taking pictures skating either. Its alright, but the cost wasnt really worth it other than a once in a blue moon thing. Also wear long thick socks, itll help your feet and ankles some.
2nd time Ive been to the Chandler Location. Bathrooms are still dirty the prizes for the kids are weird, some are for tickets only others you have to pay with cash . I like that the birthday party venue is too a certain time and they throw you out. Which is perfect
It smells like sweat, miked with teen hormones. The carpets seem dirty, the restrooms, yuck. Ordered a popcorn from the concession stand, and got a drinking cup with popcorn inside. I had to purchase more popcorn as it is a very small amount. I love my popcorn. I came back to visit and this time they are offering popcorn in bags! Thank you!!!
Kids love it. Seems pretty safe but its really loud. Food can be a bit pricey. Younger kids should probably be supervised.
They have wrists pads. Thats really good. Low on staff. Skates are okay.
Great place but its like full all the time, well at least whenever we visit. You can also bring your own skates and also the food is good.
This is the best roller skate place I have ever been to I recommend it
I used to work at this skate land and I’ll say the way I left wasn’t great. I don’t show up to this place often, but when I do it’s to enjoy my friends not the place. I go to the concession stand to get a drink with my friend when the manager Garret noticed me and said hi, of course I say hi back, but Garret then proceeded to call out how I was Fired in front of my friend and the people behind us, and telling me how I was a bad worker. Calling someone out that happened a year ago isn’t nice and coming from a manager is not professional. Needless to say my friends and I left and will not be coming back.
Went with a youth group and won a birthday party package. Pretty awesome. Roller blades only go up to size 10 in mens the largest size available was size 8. So bring your own blades if you have a bigger shoe size.
Nice location. Friendly staff. Everyone is very nice.
The reason why I give it 3 Stars is because first of all they didn’t have or do backward skating on Sundays and I don’t know why maybe it’s their policy but most people that are in the rink will at least work from I know they like backwards skating, Second of all the people that had their own skates were only like 13 people, and the rest of them which is like 20 people. And you can’t argue there because 20vs12 like bruh!!!
Do NOT eat their food. Do NOT eat the pizza. It sits on racks under a bunch of dust. Look above the food area and look at alll the dust blowing and hanging off the pipes. Their nacho chips are unsealed and stored in a non food container, looks like the one I have from Walmart. The chicken wings sit in a food warmer that is not to temp and will sit there all day which is past the amount of time for poultry to be out especially if not a specific temp. They were open for an hour, went to the bathroom there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls. After I told them, I went back to the bathroom and the clean rolls were sitting on the dirty toilet floor! So everyone used contaminated TP on their areas.
Went there for dollar Mondays, prices are decent for rentals. Place is okay, kids like keep the glow in the dark part and open dancing at end. Music choices vary, would love to see like costume theme nights with music. Like 80s or something. Like the occasional specials on food. Staff is nice. Floor is a bit rough in parts.
Worst experience ever. Staff is lazy and has a dont care attitude, completely ignored my daughter and I. Food was DISGUSTING! and health department should be notified, staff doesnt wash hands, touches food, their hair/bodies/clothes, even the water bottles had a terrible stench. Most games were non-functioning, waste of money. Skate floor is seriously dangerous. Music was inappropriate. Management is awful, rude, condescending, doesnt care. We used to be regulars but stopped coming in after change in management, we regret giving the new management a second chance. Miss the old managers and staff. We will be doing research to where they went. And dont bother responding offering us to come back on the house, we will NOT be returning, this rink has turned into mess.
I went with my daughter and granddaughter we had a blast.
Its fun, friendly staff, good dj, food is ok but really dirty and stinky equipment. Seriously the rollerblades and the wrist guards smell like.... It literally smells like a dead, decaying and rotting corpse, with a hint of fish and sweaty socks for good measure. Im being serious.
They just have arrowhead water at counter, vending machine doesn’t works. Staff not ready to help with vending machines as they belong to vendor... too bad. Over all this place is good, my kid enjoys a lot. I wanted to give more than 5 stars.1 peace of adviceKeep ur machines working or place simple sign Temporarily out of order
Really fun if you know how to skate but for $6 you can get a helper which is not an actual person It is like I think plastic that will help you get your balance and like if youre going to fall you can use that to keep you up.
Just came here had a really great time
I dont really like the set block times, but I understand them.
We had our daughters 9th birthday at Skateland in Chandler and were very disappointed. We bought the Ultimate Package which included pizza, skating, tokens for each kid in our party, and a guest DJ appearance for our daughter. Every part of the package was disappointing. The food was over 1.5 hours late (and didnt taste good), of all the games in the arcade, only 2 or 3 were physically operational in the entire arcade, the others either had a sign saying they didnt work, no sign but would just take coins and not work or take coins but not pay out tickets. On top of all that, the service was terrible. Not sure why we had to pay because we had to go up to the counter for drink refills (advertised as unlimited), plates, napkins, etc. If I was the business owner I would be ashamed. Every kid in the party was disappointed by the games not working. Other parents recently had parties there and stated similar experiences. Not okay and this needs to change or this business deserves to go out of business.
As always great music, clean, good food, great variation of lighting. Only complaints are food pricing, high obviously, and their glow cart. The glow cart comes to the center and Skateland tries to earn a fast buck. Items are around $5, which isnt bad with one kid, but if you have a few, yikes! Maybe a punch card of 5 visits, you receive one item free?
Staff is wonderful
Nice place to learn for skating specially for kids...But everybody can enjoy this place...Weekends are specially....Saturday is the best day of the week to visit...I bring my niece here & she don’t want to leave...She enjoys a lot...
Weird vibe. Couldnt even use skate passes. But thats fine.
Very fun times and a great stem lesson on our 6th grade field trip
I took my granddaughter for her birthday. I fell way too many times to count. But everyone was having fun
This one is so much nicer than the one on Southern! Its cleaner, has cooler air, the staff was friendly and always near so you didnt have to search for you host. The cheesy bread is amazing and the kids and a blast.
This place is how I remember it when I was a kid and thats not a good thing. Seriously needs a modern overhaul if its going to compete with other kid oriented venues in the area.
Only 4 working arcade games. Out of like, over 20. No rollerblades higher than mens size 8, which isnt a big deal since this is for kids anyway. The rented great smelled awful, especially all the wrist guards. The pizza was not good, like zero redeeming qualities. The bathrooms were EXTREMELY slippery (especially for young kids in skates) (side note, the urinals were in a very awkward layout where you get trapped in the bathroom if anyone else is peeing) And the sounds system sucked BIG TIME..The staff was friendly though!
Friendly staff and definitely a great place to spend an afternoon.
An excellent place to take the kids. Skating and games galore. Very affordable entertainment.
Fun environment and great personalities, reaction time to someone being hurt could be better with a little first aid training
They have a ton of scams like the pizza is expensive but garbage and they scamed me out of 10 dollars because the games didnt work yet the staff made me leave after asking for a refund. Thanks for nothing :)
This place isnt worth going to. The service is bad and its not worth your time. To some people it is others just dont come. Not worth the waste of money
Its ok I whent for this Pikachu thing and it was from 12-3 and Pikachu came out at 2 and whent back in within five minutes all there machines are basically broken
Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Good place for kids.
Its nothing special but the kids had fun skating. The bathroom was a bit dirty and the food was grossly overpriced.
Fun place, a bit loud for birthday parties.
Thanks for the drive thru treats from Poppy! Can’t wait to be able to come skating again!
Had a great time and the staff were out standing and very helpful and friends
Its fun the food is really overpriced but the kids had fun. It needs some renovations. Im shocked that no one has put some real money into a ring and made it a trendy place I bet done right this could be a big success
What a s*hole. This place has gone downhill. The sinks in the bathroom werent working and literally all but one of the games were broken. It used to be at least 3 star, too bad
Tons of Fun
Sadly this location has become very run down and very chaotic. Most of the games are out of order and the ones without signs take your tokens and dont work either. The skates and wrist guards are not being properly disinfected and Im willing to bet the skates are the actual skates we all wore in the 1980s! Its definitely not the Skateland we all know and love.We have had many family birthdays there over the years but this will probably be the last if they dont fix it up .
