This place is awesome! Im so thankful to of found it!! The staff here is so helpful and friendly. They make you feel like theyve known you for for ages. Love the atmosphere and all the welcoming vibes you get at this establishment. Praying that their blessed in their business for many years to come.

Our extended family had a great time here. Lots of fun for all ages. The woman working helped identify the gems, fossils, etc. No pressure to spend more money. Definitely recommend for a fun experience!

Recommend an appointment. Cool setting and very friendly family owned business. We didn’t realize an appointment was needed but they snuck us in between groups since it was just my son and I. We will be back!

Such an amazing experience!!! The staff were so sweet and kept checking up on us to assist us and help us identify our stones!! Lots of children there but also a great couples activity like I planned! Also, theyre very conscious and careful regarding COVID which is super appreciated! Definitely recommend giving it a visit if youre in the area, we got so many beautiful treasures!!

This place is definitely a hidden gemstone in the area!! Perfect place to get the kids outdoors and stillMaintain social distancing. The staff made sure they were wearing mask and kept everyone safe. Perfect place right now to get some energy out of the kids and have fun. We had a blast!! They also have bags to go if you aren’t comfortable staying!

We had a fantastic first time visit! The $55 bucket was WELL worth it - I am geeking out with the kids over all of the treasures we brought home! Admittedly my children who are 4 and 2 lost interest in panning after about 30min (they needed more instant gratification ) but it was such a blast. The staff kindly let me bag the remaining gravel and gemstones to sift through at home, which the kids have enjoyed doing. Would happily return and highly recommend!

The time there was fun and relaxing. Right on hw55 in Apex, i was able to pan for pretty cool rocks. It was easy and not to hard. The staff were friendly and will teach you about geology. I recommend coming here if you are trying to find something to do with your kids in Apex

Great family run business! They absolutely love what they do. We had a blast panning the gems...we found ourselves keep buying more bags. It is exciting. (The staff even dug right in the dirt with my sons and helped them find all there was to find) The gift shop is amazing and very unique. My son collects dinosaur fossils and gems and has been looking for a spinosaurus tooth to complete his collection and we got it there in the shop. I highly recommend this as a family activity, date activity, class trip or any group of friends that want to do something different and have a blast.

There were lots of gems to find in the bags of dirt, the staff was helpful, and they limited the number of people so it was easy to social distance.

On a couples vacation. Decided to try the mining experience. None of us have ever been before. We didnt have a clue what to look for but the staff was very knowledgeable and helped us identify gems. Which put our minds at ease that we didnt throw away any gems. They were so awesome!! It was a bit chili and the accommodated us with heat as well. An Inexpensive fun way to spend an hour or so and we got keep all our treasures. I cant wait to go again! Im hooked!! Highly recommend to everyone!

Great place for about 1 hour of fun. Paid 40 USD plus tax for the entire family and were had 3 bags of stuff to pan. Kids 10, 8 and 3 loved it!

We rented the place for a 6 year olds birthday party and all of the kids loved it. The employees were extremely helpful and interacting with the kids to make it even more fun for them. They also have a nice gift shop to buy bigger gems and jewelry.

A great place off of Hwy 55. Fun for a birthday party or just a couple of people. No matter what bag you purchase, you will have some great finds. I also appreciated the choice if you want to pan outside or inside.

We had my daughters 9 year old party here, the girls had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful, we were able to bring our own food, and staff helped the girls identify rocks they panned for. The area where we had the party was technically outdoors but covered in plastic to shield from weather and a fireplace to shield from cold. There was also a covered outdoor panning area. At the end of the party, we added on geodes for the kids to crack open, and that was a hot. We were pleased and would recommend parties there to others looking for something a little different.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you have kids interested in rocks and fossils. The lady running it was very helpful and good with kids. This should probably go without saying, but be prepared for your feet to get wet. The panning chutes are under a canopy and the business has both fans (for hot weather) and propane heaters.The environs are authentic old Cary/Apex: a small pond with a bunch of junk sitting around. The parking lot is gravel and be careful pulling in if you have a low-clearance vehicle--my truck did fine, but if youre driving a Civic youll want to take it slow/at an angle to avoid bottoming out.

Blue Diamond Gem Mining is amazing! We celebrated my 6 yr olds birthday here today and were truly amazed by the positive experience and how helpful everyone was. My 6 yr old and all her friends (and parents had a blast). We were a total of about 30 people here and it all went so well. Making of s’mores in the fireplace was the highlight of it all. They are so helpful, accommodating and KIND! Truly a gem of a place!

Really the perfect destination for our kids and grandparents. If its a large group or a small group, they can help you have a great time.We had a lot of fun and the fun continues because we are polishing the rocks that we brought home.It was a good use of our time, just right.

This place is great! We just wandered in and the folks in the gift shop were super helpful! They had some really nice, unique items for gem lovers. The place was packed with kids having a blast mining for fossils and rocks. Well definitely be back with our daughter soon!

Highly recommend this location for kids to spend a few hours playing and learning. The staff were extremely welcoming, provided identification cards and walked around helping throughout our time there. After the kids panned, they were free to go into a cave and dig for more treasure! The playground was a huge hit following a nice picnic on the grounds. The kids (ages 4 and 6) had the best time!!!

I took my daughter, first time going there by the way, she is a gem stone fanatic and let me tell you that she absolutely loved it. The staff was helpful in telling her about the different kinds of stones even I learned a little my self. Highly recommend it!!! my daughter is already talking about having her birthday party there. Fun family adventure! Water, Dirt, Rocks, Gems and the occasional Fossil! The layout is great and also has a nice rustic feel. The staff was helpful and very knowledgeable. My two girls ages 6 and 3 loved it.

This place is awesome. Such a fun time planning for gems and also appreciated the playground and art project optics. Went with kids ages 3-5 and it was perfect. Would also have been great for older or younger kids.

We had a great time with our 19 month old grandson. He used the space in our bucket, played on the playground and had lots of fun.

What a fun place to take a kid! We had so much fun here. Both times weve gone there was a large birthday party also happening but we were still able to do everything without extra waiting or bother. They definitely know what theyre doing!

Cute little place! My 4 year old and 19 month old liked playing in the water looking for fossils. There are swings and a slide that are great attraction for kids that dont want to mine gems. The women working there were very helpful and very nice :-)

This place was a great experience for my boys birthday party. They are 4 and 6 and love it. Staff was super nice and very accommodating consider we had mid party rain shower. They were so fairly priced that I felt like I should have paid more. 5 stars all around. Would do it over and over again.

Blue Diamond is an amazing, family friendly place. Its scenery is gorgeous. Beautiful plants and trees with many handmade sculptures. The setting can not be duplicated. The customer service is top notch. They go above and beyond to make sure the customer is completely satisfied. They also have a rock shop that is fully stocked with any rock or mineral you could imagine. I went on a cold, rainy day but their enclosure kept me dry and warm throughout my whole visit. They have an outdoor area as well for the warmer days. Will definitely be returning!

I could not be happier with my experience here! I’m from Florida and brought my two sons, 2.5-years and 7 months, here after playing all day at Marbles museum without naps. (What was I thinking?) Jessica made our experience top notch! She sat with us and helped my two year old match his gems to the guide and told him the names of each gem. She was so patient and let my crazy toddler be himself. I highly recommend this place!

Went to an 8yo birthday party here and it was fun! All kinds of things to keep kids occupied and interested. Lots of shade, so the heat wasnt a factor at all. Highly recommend it.

I was critical of the idea at first, but once I went and met the owner it was a blast. The whole family had a ton of fun, and now my kid wants to be a geologist and wont stop bringing rocks in the house.

We came here for a birthday party and this was a great place. Really different that the other gem mining places because they understand that the kids needs something to do after they finish their mining bag.This place has a walk in mine where kids can mine their own dirt and take it to the sleuth at no extra cost. They also have a rock polisher the kids can safely play with, a cool collection of gems and artifacts, and most importantly a passionate staff that actually knows and loves gemstones and mining.Don’t expect some corporate clean appearance when you arrive here, but they are super friendly, personal, and the kids have so much fun the entire time they are there.My only complaint is that they are not open after school during the week. More hours please!

Had a great time there this morning with my 2 boys (4 yrs old) and wife. The boys really loved sifting through the dirt and we found some really nice gems in each of the 2 bags. Some were really large! We spent around an hour there. The friendly staff is really helpful in identifying the gems and were great with the kids. We will definitely have to take the kids there again. They’re already asking if we can go back tomorrow!

My 13 yr old son had so much fun here, doing the panning and getting a bucket out of the small mine to wash it also. I sure enjoyed watching him do it. We will surely be back and bringing neighbors kids too.

We had a blast at the mine! Its so addictive! Lots of good stones to find plus there is a jewelry shop on site to help look through your treasures to explain then and tell you whats what and which will be the best to cut for jewelry. We should be receiving our new jewelry soon, hopefully in time for Christmas!

The staff was patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. We end our five year old had a great time panning for the gemstones for quartz, amethyst, Amber, green aventurine, and other stuff. We had a great time and look forward to going back.
