Our tour guide was very thorough and had been with the company for many years combined. We learned so much about the artist, his family and the whos and whys of his artistry. It is very colorful and full of history. It was a nice experience and the main gift shop was full of all sorts of goodies to purchase. We did have to wait about 40 minutes for the tour, but it took us that long to look around at the figurines, so it worked out well.
I’ve been to the Precious Moments Chapel before but I have never explored the beautiful inspiring grounds. I loved and appreciated the story behind who created Precious Moments, and how inspiring and encouraging these creations are. I also loved that there is a Disney collection. After speaking to the very helpful employee in the gift shop, I encourage anyone who isn’t local to that area but wants to support their business by ordering not to order online as they do not receive any of those funds. Call in and speak with their in-house sales representative, Ashley who can help you place the order over the phone and then this beautiful location can earn the funds and find who their loyal customers are. We just missed the cut off to see the chapel (it closes at 3:30) but I am excited for a return trip. All the various spots of the garden including the stained glass windows of the additional museum/gift shop were beautifully designed. It’s a must see.
Truly a blessed and wonderful place, I took my grandchildren there and they were giggling the entire time with glee! The Italy tasted exactly as I would expect, the peak of high cuisine. I couldn’t help but to spend an hour in the adorable precious moments gift shop, I’m so grateful to be able to grace my house with more of the Lord’s blessing from this heavenly place. The only complaint I have is Debbie wouldn’t let us into the Timmy Tower, such a scumbag, but a beautiful sight! I simply cannot wait to visit again next week. May the Heavenly Father smile down upon this holy place.
Awesome place. Beautiful grounds too you can walk all around. The chapel paintings are all hand painted by the same gentleman who is in his 80s now. It is off the beaten path but it is well worth the drive. It is free to the public. Great place for all ages.
This place is such a blessing! A must see for all Christians. The story of this mans life is amazing. It really makes you realize how God can work in your life if you are willing.
Didnt get to do the tour but gift shop was awesome. The restaurant there was fantastic. Will go back there next time I am there for sure.
The grounds where beautiful, but there was a lot of weird. We wouldn’t mind paying admission, but the website says it’s free and then the lady up front has us sign release forms and then goes into how it’s a $10 DONATION per person in order to enter. My 3 year old and I where there for $20 bucks and less than 40 minutes. Again the outside is beautiful, but the tour we had to endure was strange. And the little background stories of the paintings. It’s not our belief system so that could be why the whole thing was just so off putting.
Wonderful time. The Chapel is amazing. The stories told by the art work in the chapel and painted by Sam Bucher is inspiring.
You must see this adorable collection of all things precious moments. The prints they have on the wall are so beautiful and all the figures are so cute and adorable.Disclaimer *** .My Wife made me write this.
Love this chapel. Everyone that works here is so nice.
One of the most beautiful and inspirational places to visit. The Angels on the path leading to the Chapel are reminiscent of the entry to Heavens Gates. It gives me goosebumps every time I see it.
Free tours of the beautiful chapel and the paintings and stained glass inside was breath taking. Large gift shop and an onsite Italien restaurant.
This place is gorgeous, relaxing, and so peaceful! The place has a Precious Moments Chapel, museum, trail, and store. The Precious Moments figurines are gorgeous and breath taking. They are a bit pricy but worth it! The place has a lot of history! I love how Sam (Precious Moments creator) shows his faith and love for God through his artistic talent. Beware, it is really tempting to buy a bunch of figurines. Loved them all! This place reminds me of my childhood and my aunt. Growing up, Precious Moments were very special to me. I used to draw them for pleasure all the time. Sadly, the museum opens seasonal (from May to September). The museum was not open when we went on March. I am looking forward to go back and see the museum next time.
Beautiful place. Lovely to visit.
Nice, helpful, kind. Excellent tour!
Beautifully landscaped gardens with ancient-looking trees giving cool shade as you walk among the Precious Moments statues & cool, gurgling fountains that add to the peaceful paradise..Every where one looks there seems to be a wonderfully kept building that seems more breathtaking than the last, and all of them sanctuaries to the world-famous paintings, statues, stained glass images and carvings featuring Precious Moments figures.Go early, bring a picnic lunch (picnic tables are provided) & stay all day in the wondrous place that is the closest thing to the Garden of Eden there is on planet Earth!
My wife is a HUGE Precious Moments fan. We have been through this museum 3 or 4 times when coming through on a family Vacation. If we are within 2 hours of the museum, we make the stop. She loves to go to the gift shop and buys 4 or 5 of the grab bags, every single time. There is such an amazing feeling as you walk through the hallways and look at all the amazing stained glass and the statues. There is such an abundance of love and grace throughout the entire place and my kids may groan when we talk about going, but they always enjoy it when we finally get there and have the chance to walk around. I would recommend that anyone who has the opportunity, take the time and stop.
My favorite place to visit. Its so beautiful and nice to have a good walk between the visitors center and the chapel. Their staff is always so kind and helpful!
Super cute little stop. Free to check out, even had a cute little Italian restaurant with it.
Beautiful and so peaceful! Sam did a wonderful job with all his talent...a true hidden treasure to enjoy while visiting Missouri!
My husband took me to Precious Moments this winter. We made a trip to Carthage to see friends but wanted to see the chapel. We ended up not having enough time there! There is SOO much to see. It’s not a huge place, but the chapel has so many paintings and so much Christian history. It’s a beautiful and well maintained place. Free tours where they explain most of the paintings. While we were there, they had a quartet singing in the chapel. Absolutely amazing!! I didn’t want to leave.
Please, please stop by here if youre in the area, regardless of your religious affiliation or lackthereof. It is a singular masterpiece of maximalism and I am forever changed for the better.
Cool place. Bought our wedding toppers there. Long covid form with lot of personal data.
Sadly chapel was closed when we got there, Last tour at 3... But the gift shop open and a amazing display. Really worth the trip.
Love love love. This was such a delight to visit. Even the kids loved the figurines and skipping along the sidewalks to look at the beautiful surroundings!!!its a little drive to the country area to get there and so very worth it!!! Visit Visit!!!!
Been there many times. Always like the first time. Love it.
My wife loves this place so we wanted to take our daughter for the first time. She didnt want to leave the main area with all the moving precious moments dolls in their houses she thought it was so cool and kept saying wow. Which she continued to do through the whole thing she thought the chapel was really cool with the tall ceilings and crazy paintings.
I am not a collector but have always wanted to go and was not disappointed. It is a beautiful, peaceful place to visit
So gorgeous and the stories behind it all...loved it!
This place is beautiful and worth seeing cant wait to see the museum and all the other things he has planned for precious moments. The Italian restaurant combined with it is about delicious and recommended them. I got the gift bags and it was awesome we got the ticket for an extra item and got the couple on the motercycle and was blessed with what I truly was suppose to get once again.
The chapel is a great place to see and tour. The Italian restraunt Taste of Italy is fantastic. The chef comes out and visits with the patrons and asks if you enjoyed your meal. The food is really good. Lots of choices to choose from. A great experienceWe will definitely be going back.
This place is truly a blessing. My Grandparents took us when we were younger, and then my Mom took my Grandparents and us again later on. Ive lost both my Grandfather and my Mother since then. Ive been 2x since then and both times its an overwhelming emotional journey. I feel my mom and grandfather very close when Im there. Especially in the chapel of the room dedicated to the memorys of those we love. My children were in total awe both times. They love the scenes from Heaven in the Chapel. My daughter always asks if thats where Mamaw is at. Such a beautiful work of art and image of Gods perfect love for us.
We have had four generation been touched by this wonderful spiritual marvel
Absolutely gorgeous, a work showing the talents of Mr. Butcher that only God could have given.
I love going to Precious moments with my Grandbabies. They each have enjoyed a trip there except my youngest and I plan to take her for her first visit this weekend. I am very excited to see her lil face light up with excitement!!
This was by far the most amazing experience of this entire trip. This is a must see. A labour of love. And there was no pressure to buy anything. The staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Worth every minute spent there!
I could feel Gods love in a very special way.
It has changed so much. It still beautiful, but they dont keep it up how they did before.
Love this place! Beautiful and peaceful place. The Chapel is breathtaking, is great to see the changes Mr Sam Butcher have made throughout the years. This is one of those places that when on the area, we have to stop by. This is a place for the whole family. I wish they had a restaurant inside the park.
As a totally blind person, it would be understandable why I might not have gotten a lot from my visit to the Precious Moments chappel. As it turns out, our tour guide did a wonderful job of giving my wife and myself a concise history of the chappel, as well as insight into the various paintings that are present. The soothing praise music in the background helped set the mood as well.
Peaceful beautiful place. You can feel gods love when entering this enchanting chapel. Must see.
I took my mom, who has always wanted to go, although Im not a big fan of the precious moments figurines. But this place is amazing. The stories about it and its history, and the artwork, just truly beautiful and amazing. Im so glad I took her
Fantastic, highly highly recommend!
The Precious Moments Chapel is a religious experience. My family appreciates the value that it provides and the beauty. We were able to go through the gardens to the chapel and experienced a gift shop like no other. Precious Moments fans and those who appreciates great stories will wonder at this experience. Such a blessing. Thanks to Sam B!
Good place to visit very moving
This place is great if you are in the Joplin area. It is free admission. They do have drop boxes if you choose to leave a donation though. The grounds are fabulous and very well kept. The staff on site are very friendly and are willing to answer questions. Precious Moments is very family friendly, and they do not push anything on you. I would highly suggest.
Love this place and the kids really enjoyed it.
Kind of went down hill alittle but still nice
I have waited 27 years to visit the Precious Moments Chapel. My husband took me for an early wedding anniversary present. Since he will be gone on deployment when our Anniversary takes place. I was amazed by all the beautiful paintings and stained glass images. The doors are exquisitely done. Just a beautiful chapel, you will not be disappointed. We have decided that is where we are going to go every year for our Anniversary.
Absolutely amazing, and free! Love the history behind these amazing people.
This little gem is just north of the Missouri border from Oklahoma. We followed the signs off the road for the 10 minutes from the highway treasure. Ive never seen anything quite like it. My childhood was brought to life and made walkable. If youve ever owned a figurine or colored their pictures in a coloring book, you wont be disappointed.
It was just like I remembered it as a teenager. My grandmother took me when I was 14. Sometime during last night, she passed away to fly with the angels. We visited the Precious Moments Chapel with my daughter, 16 years later, today. It was untouched and I felt as if she was walking alongside me once again, experiencing the beauty and craftsmanship of this wonderful place with her great granddaughter now. Thank you to everyone who continues to make this place a home of hope.
Its defenatly worth going once. However Ive been 3 times now, cause my wife absolutely loves it.
It is a lovely place. From the OUTSIDE you dont expect all that but once you walk inside you discover a beautiful world !The CHAPEL closes at 5.00pm ( not 5.30)
We loved the precious moments chapel!! They know how to make things look so nice!! They have such a nice gift shop! And the chapel itself is so amazing. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and look at neat little figures hiding in different spots!
So glad I stopped. Wonderful place to remember my childhood.
MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE ON EARTH! MY KIDS LOVED IT
The chapel is 1 of the most peaceful places you can visit. Highly recommend the tour
This place is like a second church its so beAutiful and detailed and heartfelt. You have to come visit
Lots of collectables in the gift shops, but visiting the chapel to praise the Lord is what you come here for. Last chapel tour is two hours before the gift shop closes, be sure to check times in advance.
Taste of Italy Restaurant for dinner - great food exceptional service and atmosphere highly recommended.
I havent been able to to visit this place in a long time and I was pleased to see a new restaurant. Taste of Italy was wonderful! Freshly made rolls, with marinara dipping sauce was a perfect start. Lunch portions were just right and all our meals were mouthwatering. Salads fresh with house made dressings were another good compliment to our meal. I will go back.
Thought this would be a quick stop but we wanted to linger. Gardens, chapel, gift stores, cafe, museum. Take the tour, it is worth it. The memorials were very touching. Even my husband was tearing up. Gift shop has something for babies to Grandmas. We found small porcelain figures for our moms for $10 each. They even had mystery grab bags of 80+ value for $30. You can find rare & discontinued items too. There was a stream running through a castle lobby and small cafe with ice cream and treats. Lots of bathroom stalls! Free! Pack a picnic & plan to eat it on the peaceful grounds.
Best place ever .. Very peaceful ..
Awesome place! Enjoyed it very much!
I love this place. The stories from the Bible come alive. I love buying PM.
Love precious moments. Love their year calendars and figurines. Like the pocket calendar, they run out fast though. Theyre great for Christmas stockings. We always come there whenever we visit Carthage.
It was breathtaking, beautiful pictures and we went in the off-season I will be going back in the summer
We saw a billboard advertising this while on our road trip from Ohio to California. We thought why not? It was very sweet. Unfortunately, we only had 30 minutes because they were closing, but we are glad we stopped and it was free!
As a PM collector, I have wanted to visit here for years! Finally made it down in July 2018 and loved it. Beautiful grounds and story of Sam Butchers lifetime work. Cannot wait to get back!
So sweet and so much fun!! Glad we made the detour to visit!!
Loved it years ago and so glad they opened back up. Inspirational and a must see for little ones.
Took the kids for their first visit, such a inspirational place, whenever you leave you feel inspired and refreshed.
Great place to see Precious Moments painting and wonderful chapel.
Very beautiful place and it’s huge. Can spend hours here. And it’s free to come. Came from Chicago
The chapel is amazing. The artist has put so much love into his art. We came during winter so the the fountains werent on (which is understandable) and we were only there with about 5 other groups so my daughters just made a comment that it had an eerie feeling. Love the artists mission.
Theres is a lot to out side. Enjoyed it very much.
Its 10 to 15 minutes off of 44 or 49 but worth the drive! My wife and I are not religious although my wife has loved Precious Moments Figurines her whole life. You can spend 30 to 60 minutes just checkin out all of the cool displays and history and its free. You can purchase items if desired. The prices seem fair for the quality and detail of the items offered. If you go around the Holidays, you can purchase some pretty amazing ornaments. The detail of the hand painted Murals is amazing!Highly recommended!
Beautiful, relax n atmosphere and a lot of history
Three generations of my family have visited the chapel and left messages for our loved ones that were lost and found ourselves entranced by the Beauty and the sacredness of the chapel. Well worth visiting if you get the chance.
Gorgeous place! Very relaxing place to stop and see
Deeply spiritual experience in a great town to spend a weekend in. Strongly suggest taking a tour here there is so much to see and feel here!
Its still just as beautiful as I remember from going as a kid, the let down was that due to not enough funding they had to shut down the wedding chapel and the big fountain display. Still recommend going and visiting at least once in your life.
Everyone should experience this at least once. Its worth the drive. Not huge but beautiful.
We come here every chance we can. I love this place. Its beutiful.
OMG, this place is awesome. If you go plan on being there for awhile. Beautiful one of a kind pieces. Available items in the museum and in the gift shop.
The food was good, but it could be better. The hostess was great! The servers could use some more training. They all seemed pretty new to the industry and to the job itself. The atmosphere was wonderful and the whole place, including the restrooms, was very clean. Overall it was a nice experience.
Fun, they charge for chapel entry now
Our family love this place. So many of our friends and family have been blessed by the Prexious Moments Ministry. Thank you for living out the talent God gave you.
Quaint, restful spot along our road trip! The chapel is charming. The gardens and grounds inviting. My husband said the best part was to see there IS basketball in Heaven.
We love going here. What a great to present the Bible to kids.
Would like to go back since it’s been since 2000!
Amazing place and inspiring story behind the paintings inside the chapel
A very nice place to visit and see what one man had a dream of. The grounds are beautiful. Would like to see it at night all lit up. Its worth the time to stop and see the devotion this man had to paint the chapel
The last tour is at 4 pm, we just missed it.
I had no idea this place was here! It is beautiful, peaceful, and free. The workers and volunteers are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly! My family and I spent about an hour here but we could have spent over 2. The art work is breathtaking and the memorial rooms are very solemn and emotional. Also, the gift shop was great with fantastic deals.
My wife loved this place. At first I thought I was just going along for the ride but I came away with a great respect for the place. Amazing what one man has created and his devotion is inspiring.
Great place for familys also they have picnic tables for you to eat on if your on a road trip
One of the most beautiful places in the Ozarks!
