Allatoona Dam is located in Emerson, Georgia. You can drive or walk up to the back of the dam though Cooper’s Furnace Day Use Park, which is open from March 1st through November 30th. From the park, you can also walk up a grave road, located between the public restrooms and the actual Cooper’s Furnace, that leads to the Overlook, looking down over the dam
Nice park, Pretty cool when they let the water out. However do not fly your drone there. Airmap says it is ok. But it is not...
Beautiful place! New to the area and just found it today. Will definitely be going back.
Cold refreshing water to float on a tube. Soccer in the grass!
Nice place. Wintertime water is fast, cant wait to see what happens this spring!
Very good place to chill
The overlook of the dam was pretty spectacular and my kids enjoyed the museum here. They enjoy learning about history.
Great place for a social event gathering, was able to have Corn Hole Tournament
From a distance, you can see the dam. But you cant drive up to see it. That said, the riverside park is great. Our church has picnics at shelter B and we looooove it here. The tables and grill are set between large trees and a creek. So pretty.
Nice quiet place
