Super friendly staff, great stuff to do for the kids. We went for their little Halloween party and thought they followed every safety precautions possible. Cant wait to go again!
This is a amazing placing for children under 10 years old. The museum is got so much hands on AND it is parent friendly. Very little bending over, lots of things that parent and child do together. The price is near perfect and the activities and numerous.Plan to spend a couple of hours for sure. Also dont miss out on a chance to be an engineer driving a train.
Great place for the kiddo to explore. I remember a big floor piano when I was a kid, but sadly it was not there. It looks like there was a new slide added and my son loved it.
A good-sized childrens museum for children ages 2-6. Older kids may not find as much to interact wit, but depends on the child. An easy and affordable way to spend 2ish hours in Carson City. Good variety of activities: large climbing and slide structure, play grocery store & restaurant, construction play area, large rideable toy airplane, large toy rocket, 3D and interactive puzzle toys, some pretend and dress up options, dentist and doctor office, locomotive simulation, and arts & crafts. Very clean, saw the staff spraying lysol and keeping things clean. Love this as a local option for my 2.5 yr old to play and learn!
I took the my daycare kids to see the museum I havent been for a long time and they loved it. However, I wish it was a little bit more interactive. You can keep the history part of the whole museum but add more in depth learning to it for all ages. Infants to teens will honestly want to know more and I feel like if there is more to do for the kids than more and more kids will want to come.We did have fun though! And the front desk ladies were super sweet!
So fun. Art room open. New ozobot coding robot
Great place to get the kids out of the house.
Very fun place for the littles. Its a saving grace in the winter!
My 1 yr old twins had a lot of fun
I dont know what I was expecting when I brought my daughter, but this wasnt it (i think i was expecting organized museum flow - like one display/exhibit flowing smoothly into another). But this was - - - Kids running everywhere, rickety building (that has its own charm to be sure), a huge room with chaos and exhibits seemingly everywhere... But once i was committed (10$?? 15$?) - its actually pretty dang cool. Theres a little bit of something for everyone and its very much a place for kids to explore new things. Theres music stations, nutrition stations, Nevada history stations, plus a whole bunch of other things. I will definitely go back for a rainy day visit with my kid to explore more. It is also a venue option for kids birthday parties which I would also consider for the future.
My kids loved it. There was a ton of stuff to do. It seemed very clean and fairly cheap. Kids are 5 and 1-1/2
Lots of fun, interactive things to explore in free play. Plus there are scheduled art projects and story times. Staff is very friendly and helpful.A nice little gift shop too.
It was a great and fun experience for kids. Both of them (4 and 8 years old) had a lot to do in the museum for hours. All the equipment is in a very good shape. They also have a good price about 10 dollars for a kid.
Great for Sunday church service
Love this place.I like that it’s very much targeted for kids a little bit younger (toddler and preschool) not to say older kids won’t have fun but as a mom of toddlers, we don’t find of indoor places for younger kiddos.Place is clean and well kept as well.
This is an ok place to bring your kids.if your bored and want to get out of the house...kinda boring for the price. Way over priced for what its is it cost 40$ to bring my kids to play with the same kind of toys the have at home.I could take my kids to McDonalds and play at home for cheaper and the same experience. It is focused around younger children.
We had our kids birthday party at the Museum. The staff were so helpful and everyone had a great time! If you are looking for a great spot to have a party, this is it. Just remember its best for the little guys!~Alex
This is the best place to take little kids in the whole valley, bar none! Tons of interactive play and a whole STEM/art center downstairs. The staff is friendly and encouraging to kids, and they listen to patrons on fun new configurations so that the place is always changing, even just little bits at a time.
Great place for kids
Super fun and clean hands on place for kids to interact and play. Fun for kids of all ages. And parents are free! Kids $10
My son whos special needs child loves this place, like to play an learn.️
We love this place! The kids all have a blast and the staff is so kind. Theres is a small snack selection and a picnic bench out front, making it really convenient. Definitely worth getting a pass. It pays for itself almost immediately.
Great place to take 1 or 8 of the kids. We take our 1-1/2 year old granddaughter often & its not only fun for her physically but terrific for social interaction. Activities for kids of all ages with science for older children. Highly recommend.
The Childrens Museum is a great place to bring children, ages 1 to 12 for creative play and interactive learning about Nevada history and wildlife. Other activities included a climbing and slide structure, an airplane-shaped teeter-totter, a child-sized play market and restaurant, doctors office, governors office, a jail, a gold-panning sluice, and many other interesting interactive displays.
Great place for kids
My grandaughter absolutely loved it. She asked to go back. A great dsy to spend with kids. The staff was amazing.
A great place for youngsters to run off energy and learn what they can about each room. The only thing negative I have to say is every toy and station needs to be cleaned weekly and sprayed with disinfectant daily. The last time I went with my 4 grandchildren we all got sick with nasty intestinal troubles. I ( grandma ) ended up in the ER extremely sick and so did youngest child. Hopefully children wont be able to fool their parents into thinking they are not sick when in fact they are so they dont go and spread their germs.Like I said this is a great place to get a fun learning experience.
My granddaughter and II went to the childrens museum expecting a museum. We were charged $10. $6 for me, $4 for my granddaughter. That was fine, until I actually got inside and realize that this isnt a museum. This is a playroom. Charging an adult $6 to watch the Children Play was is rather annoying. My granddaughter explored around for 20 minutes or so and then we played with some of the building block sets for another 20 minutes before she was ready to go. Its a nice enough place but not a museum.
Unfortunately this place is a huge disappointment! It is a great idea... Abe Is a hollow reminder if perhaps was once an exciting place to.come play and learn. The place is very dirty. Toys are broken, many things dont work.I think this place just needs a big overhaul and could be restored to maybe what it once was.I wont be going back until the overhaul takes place...
Best place too invest sometime a donate to the childrens museum funds, many great things are there and I all ways have the best of days, finding all the great things about Carson City, to injoy when Im there, much more more to looking fun and walks, allways make my days of buiessness, pleasantly God blessed, all day long
Cool place, price can be bity. Better pay for half a year or whole year.
Our little ones loved the Childrens Museum; so much so that we held our toddlers birthday party here. The party guests and parents all liked it also. There are lessons learned here for toddlers and older children alike. It makes learning fun for them!
It was kinda a let down. The kids had fun but everything is a mess and most of rooms are missing the props. Buttons that were supposed to make noise didnt. It was chaos. People just let their kids go nuts. My kid got bit by another kid.
YNice clean recreation for kids. You are required to pay 10 dollars a day to let your child play unsupervised?? One lady in front on phone most of time. Cute and good for Rainy days or super hot days(ac) I will take my granddaughter back to try story time on Tuesday morning.
Its a great place to have kid birthday party or to take your kids. Located in a historical building, its the kids version of an adult museum.
Very fun and educational place to bring your children, my son absolutely loved it!
Fun, educational place for children & children at heart.
My son loves this place so much. I dont understand why parents get charged to enter its a bit odd sense we dont do anything but watch our children and keep them safe. Its an amazing place and a very great idea. Also with winter here this place gives the kids somewhere to burn off energy and keep warm. Just wish I didnt have to pay for myself, I can do my part anywhere for free, be a parent. Or maybe hire me to clean the place thats a good deal haha just saying.
Such a fun place to bring the kids! It is a giant play town on the first level, with everything from a doctors office to a grocery store, to a governors office. There are also construction toys, a rock wall, a playplace and slide. Downstairs is the STEM area with lots of challenging puzzles and hands on math and science. If we lived a little closer we would definitely get the year long family pass.
Great space for your kids to play and lots of things to learn.
Great place for the young ones to explore their world. Something for every child!
Good place to go lots of entertainment for kids and the price is perfect$10 entry for kids adults free
Our was a great place for my toddler to get his energy out and admission was cheap. I gave a 4 instead of 5 just because some of the toys were old, but it is a non-profit and toddlers dont care about the age of the toys. But my son thoroughly enjoyed himself.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the museum was pretty clean. My child had a great time, and well be back.
A wonderful place for children to be creative and explore.
Half of their stuff didn’t work. It would be a nice museum if they had everything working
My son and his class had fun the front desk person was not very nice but we always have a great day when we come out and play at the Childrens Museum!
Its great for about a half hour and then you realize theres nothing else to do. The kids have done it all and played hard for 30 minutes before youre ready to go.
Pretty cool spot to take your kids and avoid the summer nevada heat
This muesum is wonderful. The staff is nice and positive. Its quaint and you can sit down and watch your little ones play and see them from one side of the room to the other... The museum has stick rules about cleaning up after yourself...(which you should do anyway! Proper manners!) The price is amazing I got a 6 month membership for $40! My kids love this place!
Excellent place for children to play and hang out
Great place for children and their families!
Loved it. We had a large group ages 78 down to 8, and everyone had fun.
Great place to bring children of all ages. My 1 year old enjoyed it and so did my 4 year old. There was much to learn in the STEM area. Dissecting a human torso, kinects, weights to learn balancing, a microscope, and fish in a bathtub! The staff here are all kind and want to help children develop and do their best.6 month membership is $40, 1 year is $70. Under 2 is free, kids are $4, and adults are $6. We purchased a membership and plan on going frequently. Its a warm play to play when its snowing.
Great place for kids of all ages! I take my 18 month old & my 7 yr old niece. They love it. Different rooms set up like different places (grocery store, school, doctors office, music room, etc) They have a huge climbing area with a slide, a rock climbing wall, tons of learning activities.
My is two kids enjoy the museum as it is and they love the special events i.e. Chinese new year
Lots of cool activities for the kids.
Cheap fun place to do kids parties. Amazing staff
Wonderful place for kids under 10. Beats the discovery museum in Reno for kids under 5. Im a bit worried about the price hike, almost 2.5 times the cost for membership starting February 1st.
It was our first time and we were watching issac. Man we had a ball. This was a cool place
Love taking the grandkids here to play and learn.
Not very good. We went for a birthday and the attractions really are outdated and boring.
Okay place for the little ones. Little old but nice and quiet. Need to be dusted, maybe vent air out as well but otherwise an okay experience.
My daughter had her birthday here. The main floor of the childrens museum is one big play area. There is also a downstairs area with STEAM rooms and a birthday party room. With the party package, you can rent the room for two hours and the kids are paid for until the museum closes.Everyone had fun - the only thing my daughter didnt like ws that the birthday room didnt have a hook to hang a pinata.
My child enjoyed the activities and the environment was really pleasant.
This is a very old place to visit but my grandkids really enjoy it they have a super time on the things inside the museum I believe the grandkids cost $4 and they charged me $6 which was kind of funny because I didnt do anything but sit around and watch them
My family have always enjoyed going here. There is lots of stuff for kids to do, however, not everything is in working order. As a parent I like it here because I can see where my kids are playing from a distance. Would recommend!
This is the worst place I have ever been, I will never bring my kid here again. My daughter is almost all the way potty trained, and she had an accident. No big deal, it happens. We cleaned up the potty on the floor and my girlfriend took her in the bathroom to change her. As my girlfriend and daughter are walking into the bathroom the employee walks up and starts chastising my 4 year old. Telling her that she made a mess and now other people have to pick it up. My daughter is already upset that she had an accent and this old lady is standing there yelling at my daughter. Completely unacceptable! She was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. As we were leaving, after my daughter was all changed, she gave us an incredibly rude look and started telling everyone in the lobby a girl peed herself and made a mess I had to go clean it! I will never come here again!
The Museum was great for my 3 yr old grandson. He enjoyed the exhibits and the art room.
Small but really loaded with activities. We ran out of energy well before the kids got bored. Everyone was really friendly. Great local place and the building is interesting.
This museum is in an old church building. They have 1 large room with everything in it. Its a nice place to bring your 3 or 4 year old when you want to just sit and relax while they entertain themselves. Not worth the price, though.
Definitely best for younger kids--its like a one-room playland, but a very good one for the right ages. My 7-year-old had a lot of fun when we visited with one of his playmates, but might not have enjoyed it solo. My 11-year-old was completely bored. Id say 7 is probably about the top end of the ideal age range.
Wonderful hands on activities!
It is technically a museum. But it could definitely use a lot of additional funding and maintenance.
Lots of fun for a snowy, inside day. Plenty of activities for any age. Bathrooms and a water fountain are available, and they also sell snacks.
Caught a wretched cold, in the middle of summer.
Fun for the kids. We had a 2 and 3 year old and they were really upset when they had to leave.
Something different to do once in a while when its too hot or cold to go to a park.
Great place, took my granddaughter, she had a blast. So many hands on exipits, and kids being kids with imagination flowing. Love this place
Not 5 stars as a museum but definitely 5 stars as a place for 6 years and under to have fun.
Great place for the kids. Yearly and Semi-yearly family pass options are great bargain. If you are live in and around Carson City, there is no better place to take your kids to.
It was fun, and slightly educational. More of a play place than a museum really. A bit run down also, not much actually works there.
Need to figure x all exhibits daily and constantly. Have organised exhibit. Concentrate on hospital nursing. Otherwise great interactive place.
Their prices have gone up so thats a down but its a wonderful place for children literally of all ages
Kids love it!
Best attraction in town for kids 7 and under
Its awesome. Kids always have a good time, lots of different activities
Fun for the kids
My 5 year old had so much fun here
A great place for kids to play!!
Love taking my little one here. It is all in one open room so I can sit and watch him play.
Amazing for all kids who want to play and learn!! Very fun
