A very nice FREE shooting range. With nearby counties enforcing congested areas no shooting regulations it has become harder to find places to shoot. There are no staff on site so clean up what you bring in.

Nice range. Well takin care of. They just starting charging money yesterday tho. As long as they keep taking care of it I don’t mind paying $50 a year. It’s $5 a day for nv residents or $50 a year.

Why is this range always closed except for one day a week? Cartoon city doesnt own this range. The taxpayers own this range not some communist from the cartoon city gun club. SHOOTERS TAKE BACK YOUR RANGE

Love this place its well kept clean everyone who goes is respectful to other shooters. Tables are nice and the safety line for watching is great as well

First rate facility and first rate patrons. To begin with, its free, no cost, so long as you keep your area clean and you remove your own litter. But more than that, it quickly became apparent how the other users were totally into firearm safety, proper handling technique and range etiquette; totally refreshing to observe this as I had my family with me at the time of my visit. Kudos the patrons of the gun range and to the citizens of Carson City for hosting this first rate facility free of charge for anyone who wishes to partake in the sport of target shooting. True Americans, thanks.

Looks like a supervised range but it is NOT, you have to bring your own target(s) and chair. If you are come prepared you will have a great time! Although there is no RO, 99% of the people there are friendly, helpful and follow proper range/gun safety.

Been going for years, very clean, very nice people

Love this place!!! My wife and I visited on a week day, mid afternoon. We had the whole place to ourselves. .. Would highly recommend. The place was well kept and clean. No thugs were there as was described in previously posted experience. The best part: Its FREE!!!! Which is the absolute best!! We will definitely make this one of our go to places to shoot close to Reno. If anything changes, I will update this post... Other than that: Have a great time shootin!!

Great outdoor range! Concrete steps, table four shooting and watching, ramps for wheel chairs.

Great place to shoot! Usually opened for public shooting on the weekends. Ive never been during the week. It is easily accessible with a car or truck and is close to central Carson City

Every 2nd and 4th Sunday, the pistol range is closed to everyone except the NNIDPA (Northern Nevada International Defensive Pistol Association) from 7am-noon. If you want to shoot your pistol, too bad, you cant. The parking lot was closed off starting the entire pistol range was reserved not the last four as their website states.FYI: there is a male and female restroom onsite but nothing else. If you need anything to eat or drink, it is best to stop at the Maverick gas station on Hwy 50.

Great place to take the family to learn to shoot, Ive been coming back for months now, friendly people for the most part, not a lot of what I would call show offs they are down to earth people just practicing rather than screwing around.

A dumpy open public range but well covered, CAUTION no RSO onsite people started shooting while I was down range; no clubhouse, ammo, targets for sale.

This place is closed except weekends due to “stray bullets”. We went out on a Monday to find a locked gate preventing access.
