This museum and art center is a nice gem in Carlsbad. There is a lot of interesting history to be seen. We spent about an hour here. The cost is free.
The Carlsbad Museum and Art Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico is small, yet informative. It houses very authentic western art. From the Native American pottery collection, to the rifle collection, to the stage coach and the model train exhibit — the museum is worth stopping by.Aside from the very friendly staff, there is no admission fee. Please leave a few dollars into the box by the front door.
Well laid out and very informative. Another surprise of art, relics and artifacts in small town America.
I think they were being a little dramatic. Carl WAS bad, but he wasnt THAT bad.
Great exhibit of art illustrations for Childrens books including original Dr. Seuss art. Well worth the time to go see Theres no charge for the Museum. Some nice paintings also and a great electric train diorama.
They have some cool stuff in here, but the train set does not run and the Philipines did not win their independence. They lost a war for it with the US, then we gave it to them out of our own humiliation. I guess the truth does not fit the agenda...
Had the BEST TIME !! Spent several hours with Laurie ( curator) and Willi Jong the artist who is re creating the origin of Carlsbad, the city, showing its beginning - with the historic landscape!! Awesome !! A must SEE!!Also check out ALL the Arrowheads - remarkable!! Highly recommend this stop !!️
Initial 4 stars. But it is free and much beyond my expectation. Delicate and well-organized museum. ~1h to see all the exhibitions.
I enjoy going to this museum and learning about the surrounding area. The exhibits are interesting.
