This grand three-story, 15-room home was built by Adolfo Camarillo in the Queen Ann Victorian style, using the plans of architects Herman Anlauf and Franklin Ward. The home features seven bedrooms, a grand staircase, a tower bay, a walk-in wooden refrigerator, wrap-around exterior balcony, hardwood floors, and turrets. The exterior and interior of the house were restored by the City of Camarillo and the Camarillo Ranch Foundation during 1999-2001.The grounds are open 9-5 daily, house tours are 12-3 Sat-Sun-Mon, closed holidays and during private events. This property is now a popular wedding venue. It is on the National Register of Historical Places; a California Point of Historic Interest; and Ventura County Landmark No. 8.

Finally went to the famous picture taking spot in Los Angeles~ its actually near a few art museums where you need to pay to enter, but at the lights you dont really need to pay for them. You would only need to pay for parking if youre using theCamarillo Ranch parking garage or if you want to enjoy the nice artwork.

Of all the places I attended, this was the most interesting of them all. With my dear friend Melanie we went Road Trip And photo tour . here a 4 hour drive each way in search of the story of the White Horses and we found out some special and had a blast learning and touring the entire place that also held a food truck expi at the same time we were at this ranch.

This is a lovely historic home. Its not very old (built 1893, which is a few decades after our family home) by many historical ideas but for California, thats pretty old. They clearly updated everything in like 1915-28 teen-thru-twenties period based on the latches and make of the cabinetry but its a lovely place. Lots of family history remains and thats always what makes a place interesting. They get a bit nervous with kids and tried talking in code about doing the tour different because we had a 6 year old but this 6yo is super sharp so knew just what they meant. She was fine but still cant get over that the play room for kids was in an attic she couldnt see. But she was thrilled by the doll houses, including one she could play with! The TREES! You need to see these unique and massive trees. You probably never saw these types and certainly not this variation in one place. Its lovely.

Love the ranch house, historic, amazing, and well preserved. Rumors have it some times at weddings people see Mr. Camarillo in the upstairs windows at night . Definitely check it out for either a tour or an event. Beautiful trees that must have been here for a real long time that are amazing for pictures.

I was the DJ at this venue this past weekend. It’s a beautiful spot for an outdoor wedding. Luckily in so cal, most days are beautiful, especially in Camarillo. The problem is it’s near the freeway, so you have a lot of freeway noise, and both the kitchen and the bathrooms are a bit far from the Garden area where the bride and groom setup their reception. Power outlets are a bit far, so a generator for power might be a good idea depending on setup.

The food truck Thursday event is great. We were impressed with the number of trucks and the variety of offerings. The lobster truck had the longest line, but we opted for BBQ for our meal on wheels. Planned to visit Cupcake Wars for the gluten-free chocolate beauty but was too full. Next month! Plenty of shady parking but not much shade for eating. Next time we’ll take beach chairs.

Beautiful wedding venue, and The Barn was perfect for my daughters reception. My daughters wedding was beautiful and we were very happy with our choice. Just know that this venue only provides the location and that is all. Everything else you pay for separately. If you want your flower girls to throw rose petals be prepared to clean them up yourself as Camarillo Ranch wont allow it unless you do the clean up. If you are thinking of throwing confetti outside or inside the barn as a send off, forget that also as they just dont allow that. This was the reason I didnt give them 5 stars, because I was initially told in writing that I had permission to throw confetti but was then told on the DAY OF THE WEDDING that no confetti could be used, after I already purchased it and arranged for it. Besides the problem with the rose petals and confetti the location was beautiful.

Whenever possible I will visit to walk the grounds and tour the restored Victorian house. I always learn something new about the house and the history of the early 1900s.The yearly presentation of the white Arabian horses in late July is my favorite visit. Christmas is lovely with decorations and carolers.A step back in time and an appreciation of early Ventura county history is the end result of every visit. The employees present are enthusiastic and informative.Children and adults of all ages will find a visit worth time and effort. To tour the house is a suggested $5 donation.

An excellent historic site. We didnt take any of the tours as it was after hours, so no comment about the inside of the house. The exterior was wonderful though. Many native and non-native plant species, several AMAZING trees, and humorous signs around the property explaining the historic property. The grounds also has space for parties and weddings it appears, which I think would be quite magical.

We booked the ranch for our wedding day and I cant tell you how many of our guests came up to us & told us how awesome the venue was! When my now husband and I took a tour of the site, we fell in love and didnt need to look anywhere else. It was perfect in so many ways! The space is so large that the opportunities are endless. We used the whole venue. Our ceremony was held on the East Lawn with the gorgeous gazebo as a backdrop. My bridesmaids, flower girls and I got ready in the bridal suite within the Victorian home which was soooo cute and beautifully decorated! We were able to safely keep our personal belongings in the suite during the ceremony & reception by having one of the Staff Members lock up the room. That was a big plus! The West & Front Lawn we used for cocktail hour and because of how much space there is, we were able to have lawn games like corn hole, can jam, and others for all of our guests to enjoy. The big red barn is where we had our reception and it was truly magical! So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and Im positive having it at the Ranch played a big part in that! Jasmine, the event manager I was in contact with during the whole planning process was always so sweet, clear, and prompt. She even left me a nice personal note in my bridal suite on my wedding day and it really meant a lot. I am so happy we had our wedding here & recommend this venue to any couple looking to have their perfect wedding day!

Now a resident, I began coming to Camarillo for weekends, once a month, for about twenty years. Yet, I had never visited Camarillo House. I have driven past it numerous times, and I never taken a tour there. Until about a week ago when a friend and I went on an experience I will never forget. When you come to the entrance, you are greeted by a docent in period dress. A docent who delights in sharing the rich history of the Camarillo family, Camarillo House, and Rancho Calleguas. The home, furnished either with the real thing or a period replica, the home embraces you and transports you to another time, another world. The docents help you trip back to the early part of the 20th Century with their deep knowledge of, and passion for, this particular hunk of history. If you havent been there, go. Seriously. Its worth it, for the whole family!
