Battery Park... in Autumn.Burlington, VermontOctober 15,2020

It has an incredible view and a wonderful playground for kids, some picnic tables, and a nice music stage right beside it. However, at the moment that Im writing this review, there are protesters camping out in the main grass area of this park. Therefore, its not as pleasant or spacious like normal, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

The view is awesome and there are lots of benches, however there are definite downsides: theres this odd road running through it which breaks up the green space unnecessarily, its bordered on two sides by busy roads, and sometimes the patrons can be a bit intimidating. The last two times i visited the park, the lake side walkway was blocked by groups of young adults drinking and being a little rowdy. We had to walk off the paved path to get by. I guess we could have said excuse me, but you never know if that will be taken as confrontational, especially when there is alcohol involved.

There are a couple of areas to walk. It’s not the biggest park but it offers some great views of the lake. There are a couple of places for the homeless to hang out so if that bothers you, just know. Otherwise, not too bad.

Its beautiful there. Great please to have lunch and enjoy the outdoors

Battery Park is a great place to get a full, stunning view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. It’s only a few blocks from Church Street (the main pedestrian street in Burlington), so it’s definitely worth a visit!

One of my favorite parks in town. Breathtaking views of the lake and Adirondacks. Its very safe and spacious with plenty of parking. The park will sometimes host free concerts, shows, movies, and activities. There is also some right history connected to the park. One of Burlingtons staples.

Tiny little park with great views of Lake Champlain! Playground for the kids. Very small parking lot with maybe 6 spaces (that are sometimes occupied with a food truck).

The view was great but there was a protest going on, there was trash everywhere and the landscaping is very unkempt, and more homeless here also.

Paired with lunch at the Skinny Pancake, this playground stop provides for a good expansion of kid-energy for those on the New York to Montreal trek with little travellers. Perfectly safe as it is right next to the Burlington Police Station, it also provides high-above, panoramic views of Champlain. A merry-go-round plus multiple slides, swings, and climbing apparatuses for pre-toddlers right through the pre-teens.

This was a nice park. It overlooks Champlain from a higher altitude than by the waterfront parks where most people go. I thought his park was very peaceful because of that. They also have a stage space where music can be played. This park is a little out of the way but its not a far walk and its well worth it!

We got to the middle of the park and couldnt find a trash can. I needed to spit my gum out. I walked the entire way out of the park looking for a trash can but couldnt find one.

The Sunday I arrived up here was absolutely stunning! I had no idea there was going to be an LGBT event going on, but I was so glaad it happened on the day I came up!!! That drag show was GORGEOUS

One of the best places to visit in Burlington. Beautiful views over looking Lake Champlain. Nice grassy area with concerts during the summer. Unfortunately its become a hangout spot for groups of people who drink FourLoko at 10am. Would be nice if there was more recreation available here. A basketball court maybe?

Is a really pretty area. My only complaint is that the should be more (usable) bathrooms, especially for large events. When my mom and I were there on Sunday afternoon for Pride Day, there were two port-a-potties in addition to the two single- stall restrooms, but the two port-a-potties were locked with the kind of key lock you ot on lockers.

What a beautiful park... Perfect to walk (with your stroller or not). Over looking the beautiful lake and with a nice little playground for the kids. Theres also a food truck that comes in handy.

Beautiful community park! I just wish there was a band playing in the band shell and my daughters were there to play on the slides. Unbelievable views of the lake and even portable facilities, I cant wait to bring my family back!

Nice spot, often a good amount of people enjoying it but its spaced out enough that its not crowded. Great spot for events or just to hang out on a nice day

Battery Park is gorgeous and it has a great view of the lake. Great place to eat lunch if Beansies Bus is there.

The views are great as a photographer, however the park is not maintained properly. There is garbage everywhere, and the strong smell of urine permeating the entire area. Not a place I take my kids.

A bit of a hike up the hil but great views of the lake.

This park is historic. Beautiful, overlooking Lake Champlain. My family has visited battery park for many generations now. Beansies bus for some fries and a cold drink during the summer makes this park a must see if you come to Burlington.

Perfect spot for talking photos of the lake! The view is absolutely stunning. And kids can play at the playground while adults are busy taking photos

Breathtaking! All you could need is around you (parking, stores, gas, etc), yet the Park is like an oasis with beautiful trees and green-space, the water glittering in the sun. Just gorgeous.

Kids really enjoy playing there. Great food at beansies, just watch out for seagulls stealing your food! Parking is very limited

Such a beautiful park with breathtaking views of the lake. Its a great place to picnic with the family and let the kids run and play.

Hated because of the people who are allowed to drink alcohol and they get loud using foul language that can be heard from a distance also there is a large tree that is blocking the view of the lake and sunsets in my opinion it should be taken down and people who are leaving trash should be ticketed.

Battery Park is a park on a hill overlooking the water in Burlington. Theres a playground for children near the police station. Our daughter loved the playground and we loved the views (and the food truck that stops by the police station).

The view is spectacular. One of the best places in the world to watch a sun set.

Thursday evening, summer music, put on by The Point are always great to go to. Such a fantastic venue.

One of the best parks for families we have found. Directly across from the beach, and theres clean bathrooms with tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball and a small skatepark. It really has everything for a family, and is kept up wonderfully!

Phenomenal evening views of the lake and New York. Scenic and wonderful. A real crossroads of the entire community. And, its located directly next door to the police station!

Had the greatest double cheeseburger with bacon that I purchased out of a school bus food truck. The view of lake Champlain is fantastic.

Great views of the water, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (to a lesser extent). You can find the ferry to the latter two landmarks here as well.

Its a park. Im not sure exactly what youd be looking for here, but Ill give it my best shot. Look this place has got some great views of the lake. Its got a great snack shake (well actually its a bus), and theres even a playground for the kids. It also hosts some interesting community events like summer concerts. On the other hand its often filled to the brim with really shifty folks. When not in use for said summer concerts the amphitheater is normally home to a classy mix of hobos and junkies. So maybe keep an eye out for that.

Love, pure bliss. Its the same as when I grew up. Well, a few changes... I am so blessed to be able to see our Father in heavens wondrous beauty, even though I, we dont deserve it. Its everywhere I see. How can I not be thankful & grateful for these things in the midst of so much, well...life !! love, faith & hope in His son, our Savior, Jesus ..peace..until nxt time.

Theres plenty of room for almost every kind of event headed to Burlington! Park well maintained. Parking is usually an issue, however. Gorgeous sunsets!

Battery Park is amazing. The grandoise scenery, great eats and bike trail. Definitely recommend a stroll around the board walk

Have always loved to come here since i was a child. The only thing i wish we could have there is more seating (picnic tables, swinging benches, etc)

Went to Pride parade, loved every minute of it.

Beautiful park with a great view of lake Champlain. Features several military memorials and historic commemorative plaques. Also has a fountain, garden, playground and amphitheatre. Public events hosted year round. Dont miss the food truck nearby as well. Great place to take a moment and enjoy a sunset.

Went to Beansies. They now have excellent hot hamburgers and french fries with gravy.

Pretty nice park. Great overlook view of the waterfront and a peaceful place to just sit and have a picnic or listen to music. Can often smell pot smoke here, if youre into that. Not much in the way of statuary, but the giant carved Native American head is beautiful and has been there as long as Ive been alive.

Ideal. Great location, fantastic views of Lake Champlain, events, trails, play equipment and many nearby businesses. Parking is a bit of a challenge sometimes but it is available and inexpensive.
