Small shop with a big shops inventory, if youre looking for a specific comic and or book the staff is more than happy to help you. theyre well informed on all comic book titles.
Toy kingdom for me it really removes my problem every time I step inside this establishment!!! Superheroes & StarWars galore!!!
I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at The Perky Nerd on our interview date.Comics and caffeine collide in the form of Burbank’s The Perky Nerd! Serving bottled cold brew coffee from the likes of Stumptown, Groundworks and Califia Farms, you can keep yourself fueled with the elixir or life as you catch up on your favorite comic trade (and join a Wednesday night book club), play a few rounds of a variety of games (or join them on Tuesdays and Thursdays for game night), shop around the collectibles (including the beloved Funko Pops) and Perky Nerd themed merch, or simply admire the amazing fan art showcased along the walls. It’s obvious with the choices of seating areas and bright color schemes that the shop was created for fellow nerds to come together for fun interactions, something that standard comics shops tend to lack. In a way, it embodies the embracing of ‘nerd culture’ and the growth in popularity of the comics industry. For those like me who were afraid to unleash out geeky side growing up, we are thankful for shops like The Perky Nerd.
The best store in the world. Welcoming, inclusive and comfortable. Has a wide range of comics, collectibles, games, and even coffee. The perfect store for comic enthusiasts and newbies.
Really awesome customer service and a great selection of comics. Very female-friendly. Visiting from out of town, wish we had one of these near me
Nice place to relax and get some stuff to buy right here . Not like other store that always busy need to fall in line. Their staffs were good and always give valued their costumers. Thanks.
Great place to find comics and the best community. Their book clubs are the best.
Great store. Great gamers. Always a fun time. Hours could be better, but its a mom and pop shop who have amazing service to compensate.
Didnt know this place was here! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have board games and people seem willing to teach. I will definitely have to visit again. They had all kinds of cute collectibles, and although I dont hoard them, if you do, you will like the variety. Some star wars, game of thrones, etc
Wasnt sure what to expect. Went in to explore while strolling home from lunch. Games & Star Wars stuff interested me. Looks like they have events/game nights? Comic section huge. Felt a bit like being in a Big Bang Theory episode Look forward to going back when I have more time w/hubby or friends. Sorry, no pics, check it out if games, comics is your thing
Woman-owned and totally amazing. The Perky Nerd was a happy find for me in Burbank. Their proximity to the major studios means they have all kinds of artists popping in and showing here. The assortment of comics, books, toys and art here is wonderfully curated.Easy street parking at the far end of the Magnolia shopping area.
This place is super fun, colorful and friendly. Wide variety of comics, pops, games and art and they always have my favorite cold brew on hand. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves all things pop culture!
Always friendly with lots of fun merch have to reign myself in because I would want to buy it all
Super cute spot, great art and fun selection. Friendly.
Tiffany is wonderful, and she runs a great shop thats great for geeks of all ages. Outside of the comics, shes got a great collection of pop figures, local geek art, and they make a damn fine cup of coffee to boot. Honestly, this is probably my favorite comic book store in the entire Burbank area. Im glad to call it my comic book home. Tiffany, you rock! Keep up the great work!
Great place! The owner is a huge nerd and almost always behind the counter, ready to talk shop. If she doesnt have what youre looking for on hand, she can get it in for you ASAP. Love shopping there!
Great store, great community. Los Angeles needs this place.
Ive been going here for two years now and have never had a problem with anything the staff is always helpful and nice theyre always doing really fun events with great local artists
Id been getting back into comics peripherally over the course of the past couple years, almost entirely digitally through Comixology, when suddenly The Perky Nerd opened a few blocks from me. I knew some of the folks involved -- but had no idea just how into comics, games, and nerd-dom they were! -- so I figured Id drop in, start up a small pull-list of maybe a handful of comics to read to pass the time, and generally just take in the atmosphere.Whoa, boy, was I in for a surprise! Ive got a pull-list growing by the month, Ive picked up a few random trades and graphic novels, and joined the semi-monthly comic book reading club The Reading Rainbros (theres also The Perky B*tches, and being a member gets you 10% off).Regular gaming nights and weekends are consumed by all sorts of board games and miniatures games like X-Wing, so you can either stop in and try before you buy or whip out your crazy-mad skills and play with the big leagues. Art shows and tie-in events with movie and pop culture events are a regular thing, and bring out big names in art, local activism, cosplay, and even the TV/film industry since its in Burbank. To top it all off, Tiffany and her crew run a very fun-filled social media circle, so youre not just up-to-date on whats going on at the store and in the world of comics and pop culture, but youre also finding stuff to be amused by, laugh at, smile about, or connect with. And I think thats what sets The Perky Nerd apart: they really engage with everyone, all the time, as much as you want them to. Im normally the guy who browses silently and buys a thing and leaves, but now Im at the shop hobnobbing with fellow fans, taking in the amazingly talented artwork, and (when my schedule allows) jumping into a random board game so I can learn how to play and try something new.If youre in the area, swing on by. If youre nowhere near, just look for them on Facebook or Instagram and join in the fun that way. You wont regret it
Lots of nice stuff would take all day n enjoy
Great small game store focusing on games and comics. A lot of FFG Star Wars related gaming with Legion, X-Wing, and RPGs, but still open to other games. Also a great selection of bottled coffee.
Extremely cute and well stocked shop with a little bit of everything, comics, board games, funkos, etc. Also, the only place i know that stocks Nitro Mocha coffee, which is amazing!
Very good but smaller comic collection. Not really a coffee place, but they do have coffee - mainly cold brew. Owners very nice and they have lots of events.
Amazing selection of new comics
Love coming here. Cool stuff and good coffee. Super friendly staff!!
A cool new comic book store. I met the owner when I went. She was really nice and knowledgable. I loved the selection of comics, toys and games! I will definitely be going back.
A hip, cool comic book shop for the social geek that enjoys the latest comic release, a cold-brew coffee and all things super. Gaming tables and a lounge area for hanging out. Assorted cold brews from around the USA as well as games, collectibles, artwork and more!
Awesome place to check out. Plus the owner is a hottie.

Best little comic and gaming shop around! Friendly staff and even friendlier customers run awesome games and events all the time!
Love this place. Always friendly & packed with awesome stuff!
My Star Wars X-Wing go-to. Everything you need and want.
Great comic book store and coffee shop staffed by real perky nerds. Super friendly and helpful.
The shop is ok, not much to choose from -- mostly comic book shop. Not the friendliest place -- the 3 people who were there talking bad about customers, FedEx and UPS men, etc. #SKIPit
Pretty cool local comic store on the far end of the Magnolia strip. Very friendly staff, all recent new issues of comics and plenty of tables and chairs to relax and play board games.
Great conversations and great comics and events. No one is left behind or shamed
Great selection of comics, very friendly atmosphere, while the back doubles as gaming space and also for fantastic industry guests. Cant complain about the place.
