This is a great place. You are no further than 40 feet from the comics. They have all types of famous people come through there and the prices are decent price usually from 25to 60$ depending on meet and greet . They have a two drink minimum. Our drinks came out fairly quick and they refiled them quick. The food was out in like 5 minutes. One of my new favorite place.
Excellent show. Excellent room. I can appreciate you want to turn tables between shows, but dont interrupt a guests enjoyment of the show to collect a tab. WAIT!Answering the reply...thanks for getting back to me. I didnt mind the check drop, it was the continued attempts to collect. Working in a club for 5 years, I understand what could happen, but we werent going anywhere. And we will be back.
I had fun at the 7 pm show. Im giving it 3 stars because they sat all four of us at a cocktail table the size of a dinner plate. There is a two item min. per person, and we mostly ordered food. It couldnt all fit on the table. Once the show is over, you have to get out so have a backup place in mind if you want to make a night of it.
This place brings in world class talent at an affordable night out in Buffalo NY. This place should be sold out every night. Buffalo and surrounding areas do not know what they are missing. A cozy night with at least three bringing down the house comedian talents. Definitely will return and more often.
We have been to the club 3 times so far and had a blast every time. Great date night for sure. Highly recommend. Good food and drinks is a bonus! We will be back in the near future.
Been here for a few shows and all were a great time. Good drinks too. Something a little different and fun to do in Buffalo. I regularly look for shows Im interested in. Tip: come early. The wait can be a pain, but not the clubs fault at all.
The location is great, right in the heart of downtown and I enjoyed the comedians that were there. As far as the food and drinks are concerned theres a 2 item minimum that each person has to order while in the club which is normal. Ive been to other comedy clubs that require the same thing. The drinks were Id say a little on the high side but nothing crazy, I guess normal for that area now. And the food was good but man the portions were small. I guess thats my only complaint. I ordered boneless wings and these steak and cheese egg rolls each about $11 each and I received 3 pizza log sized egg rolls which I thought was a little cheap but still they were good .. all in all its fun I will go back
1000% a must go to show. More than once. Whats better than laughing until you cry? The guys last night were hilarious and the way the one related himself to Buffalo was so spot on. Good job everyone!!
Great spot; always a fun night out. I will say that the food is just okay. Last time I was disappointed with the sampler platter that we ordered; it tasted a little funky. I think the grease in the fryer needed to be swapped out. I will probably be back; will eat before next time!
Went on a Thursday and the service was good, ordered a few things off the menu and everything was great.. the steak egg rolls were delicious. Got tickets for a show on Saturday and was shocked that they just crammed us in the corner with strangers, the strangers had a table but it was Tiny and there was so many chairs around it there was no room for all these different people to share this table. Had to hold my drink all night and was elbow-to-elbow with strangers. Completely unacceptable to pay money for tickets to see a comedian and then be crammed in there like that and not be comfortable or even able to use the table... They should not over book when they dont have enough room. The waitresses kept coming and couldnt keep track of the orders so they kept interrupting asking who ordered what while we were trying to watch the show and we missed a lot of material, they also wanted to be paid right away and it was very distracting...
The comedy show itself was great, Jason Mewes was hilarious! While in the dining room the waitress accidentally charged us for a different table and stated that she immediately reversed the charge. Days later when I checked my account the incorrect amount was pulled. After contacting Helium Comedy Club they said they were already aware of it and that they were refunding us. Again, after checking my account, we were not refunded. It has been longer than a month and they have not given us our money back. Instead we payed for our dinner, our drinks in the show room, and someone elses bill (which they probably paid for too). So someone at Helium just pocketed an extra $140.
I was a lucky winner of my tickets. It was my husband n I first time to the club. There was a nice welcoming atmosphere to the club. Waitresses were amazing and were quick on clearing the tables n refilling drinks. Comics were very good. Only problem we had were the seats. We were seated to far left of the stage, which made it difficult to hear a couple of the comics. Other than that it was an amazing date nite for my husband n I
Great club. Good seating assistance. Wish there was more free street parking during events.
The comedian was great, saw a guy getting bounced for interacting with the comedians... It got crazy for a few seconds made my wife and her friend uncomfortable. Overall I would go again!
Always a good time at a very reasonable cost. Some up and coming comedians as well as some long time, established, house hold names. We ALWAYS have dinner before the show. The food choices are really great and the food is always tasty and well prepared.Try it ...you’ll like it.Then, try it again. You’ll love it.We certainly do!
Fantastic venue. Always a great time if you like laughing. Staff are on point
Great service. Love the setup of the show room. Good food. Great shows. Will be back for more.
Very small intimate room to watch some funny comedians. I have been there a bunch of times, always get the VIP tickets and get seated front row.
Amazing show by Chris Porter! The host was also really funny. My friends and I had a great time!
Went to see Tom Cotter last night at the Helium Comedy club. Not only was he fantastically funny, the other 2 before him were good too!We will definitely be back.
Great food and the best acts. Drove 2 hours to get there and will definitely be back.
Been here a HAND full of times. I went to see John Witherspoon a few years ago and he was amazing!!! Any other time was to go see my brother do his thing with comedy... The food and beer is cool, not too pricey. I always find myself looking at their emails whenever someone is coming to town. There is usually a minimum when purchasing tickets as far as two items or an item and a drink so be advised if you plan to just come out for a show. The seating is nice and broad so everyone isnt cramped on top of each other like some places. You WILL NOT be disappointed with planning a night out here.
Been to the club at least 10 times never had a bad show - some more funny than others but always a good time. The food is amazing, the staff are great, and there isn’t a bad seat in the place. Highly recommend!!
Long initial waits and a tiny cramped dining area with little to no separation from the box office and bar. But once you get into the venue proper it is great! Good sounds, an intimate experience with the comedian and good food and drinks, if not a bit lengthy on the wait time to get it. Serving staff is friendly and come for orders regularly when you are seated. The earlier you get seated the better, but still a great time! 9/10, would go again!
It was very nice. Very nice venue. Waitress was nice. Comedians were funny. Good home town humor. The only thing that was wrong was bouncer or door man or what ever he was had been very rude to my table. He told us we were being to loud. Its a comedy club we came to laugh.
The inside is pretty nice more than what I expected being the fact thats its in Buffalo.. The food was PERFECT, steak egg rolls were like a steak sub but inside of an egg roll .. I tried the Mediterranean Platter (trying something new) which was nasty to me but great if you like that type of food, it was presented nicely! I went to see Corey Holcomb which is one of my favorite comedians and the show was great.. I will definitely be going back to this comedy club..
Great place. You just got to bring the whole family. We go alot and were from Canada.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and had a blast. We were fortunate enough to go on a night they had a highly rated comedian as the main act (as per google and a another site my husband used). The opening act was also very funny in my opinion. We did not realize there was a two purchase minimum per person in the comedy room. We had dinner just before the show at the restaurant inside the comedy club. Had we known, we would have waited and ordered in the comedy room instead, so we didn’t have to purchase more, when we were already full and had reached our alcohol limit for driving home. So either they need to make you aware before, when you make your reservations or give you credit if you eat at the restaurant ( it’s the same servers anyway). But all in all it was a great anniversary! We had a blast there and I would definitely do it again!
It was fun, however, in addition to purchasing the tickets to the show, you also have to buy 2 drinks.
First time there and I was very impressed.Nice staff, great atmosphere and located in my favorite part of the city!!!Nore Davis was awesome... cant wait to see him in a movie! He is a STAR...
We saw Fortune Feimster this past weekend and had an excellent time. Our waiter was incredibly friendly as well as the rest of the staff. Anywhere you sit there you would have an excellent view. Will definitely be back.
Listen, it is by far the best comedy club in western ny, no doubt. However, the people who are in the audience are drunk, rude and heckle the comedians almost after every spoken sentence. It really bummed me out because the tickets are too expensive to put up with that nonsense. No one did anything to stop it! I was really disappointed with the people who go there.
What a wonderful experience, laughing to your hearts delight, good food good friends great staff and I even got gift certificates it was so much fun .
Man it was lit!!! Bill Bellamy performed... hilarious! I really enjoyed Jay Reid! Unfortunately no pics with them or of them.
Rachel Feinstein was hilarious! Check out her netflix special and youtube videos if you havent yet
I love this place. Good drinks and always a laugh.
We missed the comedy show, however, the food and customer service were great!
Every seat is a good seat, and the wait staff was attentive while also mindful about not interrupting the show at the peak of a joke. I only wish the featured cocktails had a wider variety - they all looked very sugary, and the one I chose tasted like bubblegum. But overall a great experience and cant wait to go back!
I think it has a nice layout, with great prices, and awesome talent.
I like the food and the great show here. It is the best way to relax and have fun after tense week! The only bad thing is to be able to survive in the crowd!
Amazing comedy club that brings in top notch talent! Highly recommend this place!
Comics was soo funny, but it was colder inside than outside. Food was delish
Had a great time... Just not use to the coziness of the seating but that just me...
HAVE FUN EVERY TIME I GO!ALWAYS A GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND STEVE TREVINO WAS FUNNY AS HELL!
I went to open mic night to expecting to see my cousin do a 10 minute stand up act, arrived to find out that he had been moved the standby list and he was never called to the stage. If that is how they plan to fill the house that night, I am sadly disappointed and so was my cousin especially.
Went to a great comedy act at Helium last night. Had a great time and the act was fantabulous. Great job to all!
Nice place. Big bar waiting room. Will call was quick and easy. Seating was efficient. Cozy atmosphere with a small stage make the comedians close and personal. Enjoyed it!
Love this place and the comedians! Always have a great time!
It was my first time there and everyone was very polite. The service was great. Food was good and comedy even better. Michelle Wolf was very funny. I would go back here again.
Great place if you enjoy comedy. We visit regularly to see our favorites. Also local comics at this venue are awesome as well, so if you can catch a show on a week night it will be worth it!
The food was good. Be sure to make early reservations if you want dinner at Elements before the show. Helium club was crowded, felt like sardines. Opening comic was great!! Headliner sucked. Had a fun night.
First, the pros:- It has a nice set up. Relatively clean, you can see the stage from pretty much everywhere, the seating is comfortable.- The food is passable. I wasnt expecting gourmet food from a comedy club, but what they had was tasty enough, and not too expensive.- Pleasant service. The servers were all jovial and well-mannered, and they came to check up on the table multiple times throughout the show. And now, the cons:- You couldnt print your tickets. You are forced to wait in a line and get the ticket from a teller, despite pre-ordering the tickets, and force no discernable purpose.- You cant order any food or drinks before getting into the show room. Despite there being a bar and restaurant outside, and the lone to get tickets curling around the majority of the room, you cant order from them.- You arent allowed to get your check until AFTER the show is done. So, this also means you cant pay before the show is done. And, since everyone is getting their checks at once, it takes forever to get to you, and the server is preoccupied with three dozen other customers all attempting to get her attention at once. This is bad enough, but is compounded by...- You arent allowed to leave until you have proof of payment. In concept I see the reasoning for this; you dont want people to skip out on their tab, since half the profits probably come from drinks. But, its a nightmare the way they have it set up. Since you dont get your check until AFTER the show, youre trying to give the server your card or cash at the same time as everyone else. And then the server has to make change for you, or dash to the back to run your card, and god forbid you were in the bathroom or talking to another table when your check comes, because the server wont just leave it on the table. Youll have to wait for her to come back with other peoples receipts and hope to flag her down.Plus, they had servers running about with tablets that could ruhm cards, but they would only run your receipt if you were in THEIR section. You better hope youre not in the back corner, or itll take you at least half an hour to get back to your car.In short, dont go here unless someone you absolutely have to see is coming and only performing here. And, even then, see if theyre performing anywhere close by around the same period, because its probably a better use of your money.
Shows here are always good, but I wish the service was run differently. The servers are constantly on the move trying to get to people, but its crowded and dark, its super easy to miss a table, which has happened on more than one occasion.
First time at club. I purchased the dinner and show special for 2. Had a wonderful time! Food was great, had the Greek salad...huge! All the comedians were really good, especially Cameron Esposito!! We’ve been fans for some time but seeing her in person was amazing! She killed it!!!!! Best night ever!!!!
Great show and extremely affordable. Less than $15 for both me and my fiances tickets together! It was difficult to get served at first bc we came right at the time the show was supposed to start. But once I got a server, it was fine. I ordered the greek salad and it was huge! But very delicious. We had our waters refilled a couple times, which also was nice. The performers were great. I definitely plan on coming back!
Show started, nobody looked at us to find out about tickets, 5 people on their phones for almost 3 minutes so we walked in and than someone told us that tickets were done. No apology about just standing there with people on their phones. After paying $10 fir parking, I never have given a one star but no customer service rates this today!
Fun night with friends and a great night of laughing.
Very nice and cozy venue, the headliner, Tom Cotter, was outstanding great show!
Best in Buffalo for a solid show. Get there early and grab a drink before going in.
Love this place. I’ve seen a lot of great comedians here. Good menu. It’s little hard to order in the show room but that’s only thing not great here. Not servers fault it’s just hard to get another round of drinks in dark and quiet to not interrupt show. You can see people here before they are huge selling out theaters
Good comics, menu not bad. Little cramped if you eat during the show.
Incredible funny night!! This place is awesome!! Always a great time!!
Visited here for the first time to see Steve-O live and really enjoyed ourselves. Not sure if its always so busy, but they handled the crowd well. We were well-informed ahead of time when purchasing tickets online about the 2-item minimum order, so that wasnt a problem for us. The mozzarella sticks were honestly not as bad a deal as I suspected. The seating was comfortable and everyone, even in the back, was closer than I would have expected to the performer. Parking right across the way and we paid $10 but well worth it. If the occasion arises, well be back someday!
Never even made it into the Club, the Food was Terrible, I ordered a cheeseburger and it was Tastless, and cold. Bar was pricey
Hey Helium, check the speaker pointing at table 41. Its definitely blown and sounded terrible!
Definitely a must go! Traveeles all tge way from toronto to check out this place and get a few laughs in and it was worth the trip. Food portion was large and so were the drinks.WE ATE TILL OUR BELLY WAS FULL, AND LAUGHED TILL OUR BELLY BUSS...... AMAZING TIME. But ladies becarful of the cobble road and your heels.
I had a lot of fun and even more laughs. Never disappoints... will return asap!
The food was great drew lynch and the comics were funny Drew interacted with the audience but when he did the big black guy with the fuzzy hat told us to shut up and told us we had to leave. We werent allowed to answer drew at all. On top of it blond waitress took my drink or if my hand i want finished with it yet.. I paid over 100 for tickets and 80 for dinners and 70 fur drinks it isnt the comics fault its the staff. I will not come back
Looking for a good laugh in a nice low key place? This was Prefect
Nice space to watch a show, but the seats were a bit crowded. I had people brushing up against me going past the entire time
Everything was reasonably priced. The waiting staff were very friendly and frequented the tables. The floor layout itself makes for a chill atmosphere.
Brad Williams was awesome, Granted some other pricing could be less in price.
Great experience, worth the time to check out and enjoy a show
Pending reviewWhile I am hard pressed to find comedy genres that both my husband and I can agree on, this place fit the bill. Hubby and I found Bret Ernest and his openers to be extremely comical! We were both equally impressed with our drinks and satisfied with the overall ambiance and seating arrangement. As others have previously stated, the appetizers are fine, they just lack any real pizzazz. A simple solution would be to invest in Williams Sonoma frozen food appetizers. It would not entail any additional work and would knock the socks off of your guests. The talent, the staff and the venue are otherwise top notch. Final note: Expect to pay about $50 with tip for 2 people at the current rates and 2 item/per person purchase minimum.
We have been here a few time.now and really enjoyed it. We last saw greg fitzsimmons and it was only $21 a ticket. Very reasonably priced. Cozy atmosphere. We will continue to come here
In town for business and decided to check this place out. The staff were great, the comedians were great and its a cool venue. Security and staff treated me with some great Buffalo hospitality and will def come back next time Im in Buffalo.
Good bar. Great comedy. Its a bit nerve wracking on stage though.
Went to share some grown folks time with my family last night. DL show was amazing along with 2 other comedians. I dont get when you spend $90.00 eating next door. Then you have to buy a limit of 2 drinks minimum just to sit and enjoy. Plus pay for parking.
Went to see Jimmy Dore tonight. Thanks for having him.First time at Helium. Club is overcrowded and tables are too small. I find sitting 4 people around a table the size of a TV tray unacceptable.Took an hour and a half to flag down our waitress to order food. My girlfriend (and I were both getting hangry).I did appreciate the bouncer making those who were pushing and shoving wait to go into the showroom, while letting those of us waiting patiently in first. Food was ok. (Had taco dip and mozz sticks) Nothing to write home about. Again, the table was too small to really comfortably eat the food. Barely room for food and drinks for 2, let alone 4. Makes me glad our food was brought much later than the 2 other gentlemen sitting at our table. I cant imagine trying to fit their food and ours on the table at the same time.Easily met (and passed) 2 item minimum in showroom (was aware of it when buying tickets). Like that its 2 item, not 2 drink. Food and drink a bit steep in price, but I wouldnt say unreasonably so. $4 for a pop is a bit steep, but not outrageously so.This was an expensive date night (over $100 for me and my girlfriend), and a disappointing experience with subpar service in my opinion. And I believe that poor service was the fault of poor management/ownership selling more tickets than they have the space to comfortably accomodate, not the wait staff.
Excellent customer service skills, answered all of my concerns without an attitude.
Great comedy club. Bar food only. Sub par bar food. Good drinks. Shots will run you around $8.
I always enjoy it here. The only downside is that i like the fruity beer and they never have whats on the menu. The twisted iced tea in particular. I also one time order a Margarita with the salt on rim. The first one came out without it and it was strong. The second one came with no alcohol... Which usually is what happens when you send a drink back. So I will never order a drink again that is not in a bottle!
Extremely RUDE staff !!!!! Zero stars is more accurate!!! Ruined my whole night ! Absolutely disappointing experience
The comedy acts are alway entertaining.
Nice sized club. Good variety of acts. 2 purchase minimum that does not include what you bought at their bar when you see a show. Food is mainly fried, but decent bar fare. Easy parking nearby.
