Situated in a beautiful building the locust street art is an elegant institution serving young artists from hardworking families. They offer art classes and other daily doses of inspiration. They need art supplies, books and other things that all smart inquisitive children require. If you are in the mood find something to donate.

Its hard to imagine a more affirming or heartwarming place the the Locust Street Art Center. Located in a beautiful old brick building on the East Side, the center has been offering free and low-cost art classes to people of all ages since 1959. The moment you step through the doors, you feel the love--every room is full of new works in progress, from ceramics, to painting, to photography. Everyone greets you with a smile and is eager to talk about their work. If you love art, consider taking a class--or joining in on one of their regular drawing/photography expeditions. They also host regular openings with displays of work by the students and member artists. Definitely a venture well worth supporting!
